For those trying to flagging this post as “illegal activity”
The firearm in the upper part of the picture is 100% legal.
It is NOT a non-NFA firearm or an AOW!
It is a FIXED-MAG pistol. Because of this, it does not fall under the purview of NJ Assault Firearms laws. He can have as many features as he wants.
God im jealous. I like the top one. Want to build one. But dont know how to yet without being swatted by 15 different agencies because i signed the wrong form on the wrong date around election day.
Haha. I get it. It’s no biggie. Just order a fixed mag kit and you’re good to go. It’s a bit of a pain in the butt. But it’s 50 state legal believe it or not.
Nice, what’s the process for a fixed mag pistol? Was it transferred via permit with the fixed mag? Was it just a receiver transferred as a pistol, then fixed mag added by you? Was it purchased as is? And then just accessorized?
Yea, I get it but the subtle difference might help others stay out of trouble when doing home builds. In particular, why this specific pistol setup is NJ legal.
Yes, only on certain firearms, the fuddlore that flash hiders are illegal annoys me. Perfectly legal on any bolt action, illegal on standard AR15 rifle.
Yes, they are 100% legal.
However! They count as an evil feature on “semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines”, hence why some think it’s illegal in NJ when they are not.

I was wondering what I was missing. Haha What’s your method of reloading?
Bear flag defense reloader. Reloads through the ejection port.

Holy shit that is a cool, nice idea, and can easily be reversed if you ever leave this anti-2a state.
Yup!

It was transferred as a normal lower. Shipped to nj. Built by me. The purpose is self explanatory. Lol
What is the top one?
It’s an AR pistol.
Is that really considered a vertical grip on that non-nfa? If so, what is it?
No. It’s a hand stop.
I was under the impression that to be legal, it had to be a vertical grip. I'm just curious because I'd rather have the hand stop if I can.
Yeah. This is a fixed mag pistol.
You might have to break that difference down a bit more.
Break what difference down more? An AOW and a pistol?
Yea, I get it but the subtle difference might help others stay out of trouble when doing home builds. In particular, why this specific pistol setup is NJ legal.
Yeah. The fact that people need Reddit to break this shit down is sad. But whatever. 😂🤣
Lmao agreed.
Serious question. A2 bird cages are legal in NJ?
On non regulated firearms
