hexbags

Are you and the guys dressing up for Halloween 🎃

slipknottheendsofar

yep as civilians

Senzafenzi

Now *that's* scary.

echosixwhiskey

*Shivers*

TheBrownEvilPig

How is it to balance your musical life with family life, especially with your son now also being in a band and touring?

slipknottheendsofar

It's definitely a priority. My wife Alicia's dance troop The Cherry Bombs are starting to take off again, Griff's out with Vended. But we all come home and hang out with my youngest.

TrivialBanal

If you had to switch completely, no going back, to performing a different genre of music, which one would it be?

slipknottheendsofar

Acoustic

uoYredruM

Everything acoustic you put out is fucking amazing. I missed your acoustic show in Orlando years ago and still regret it to this day.

Brad_Nolan

Corey, do you remember when you did an instore signing back in 1999 at Rolling Stone Records in Chicago. Where you guys decided to change into your jumpsuits, masks behind a jewelry store. Then someone proceeded to call the cops on you thinking you were going to rob the joint. Probably the most epic untold Slipknot early days moment.

slipknottheendsofar

I do remember that. We were pulled out of the vans at gunpoint by CPD. But once they realized what was up, they gave us a police escort across the street and served as security for the event haha.

Brad_Nolan

Haha yes! That was incredible hearing about it. So that is why there were so many cops in the back alley of the record store too. Shocked it never came up before this ever or in any interviews. Good luck with the new album and Chicago awaits your return!

casual_mutants

Holy shit! I was there. Norridge police man. Some great in stores at Rolling Stone back then. But that one sticks out.

BiStonerGuy907

Just have to say I remember this story circa Iowa from BBC 1 online. Was also an interview how you left Colorado, the importance of Faith No More while you were healing, and drop kicking a store feont and throwing down the cash on the hood of the police car as you put your hand on it. Was ine of the sickest interviews and listened about 4 or 5 times.

CON_cept5

What song do you think emphasised Slipknot’s transition from old-gen to what it is now? Thanks for the new album and good luck on the rest of the tour (loved you guys in Georgia)!!

slipknottheendsofar

Good question. I think The Dying Song feels like the perfect crossroads of where we've been and where we're going

[deleted]

First of all, hi Corey! Hope you’re doing well. I gotta ask: Are you a fan of Resident Evil? If so, what’s your favorite game or movie in the series?

slipknottheendsofar

the games are all rad still waiting for a decent movie

GoogleDrummer

Lol, aren't we all?

[deleted]

I’m with you man. Thank you for answering 🤘

VerbalDurden666

1. How was the recording process for the new album? 2. Will there be a new stage setup for the new cycle? 3. Will you play H377 any time soon live? 4. Your favourite mask from the other members? Love the new album and hope you and the other members have a great day

slipknottheendsofar

1- it was disjointed but fruitful. 2- not sure, since this one is serving us well right now. 3- fingers crossed 4- Sid's is ridicks.

VerbalDurden666

Thank you for the anwsers

DeadHorse09

Corey, I love all your musical output and the range of influences you take from. If there was a lyric or verse of any song that you wish you could have penned; what line is it?

slipknottheendsofar

If you should die before me, ask if you can bring a friend. Scott Weiland, 'Still Remains'

The_Lapsed_Pacifist

Damn Corey, nice answer. Just got chills when that song started rattling round upstairs.

Bim_Jeann

Pick a flower, hold your breath and drift away. Awesome to see STP mentioned, Purple is such a great album. Weiland was an amazing frontman, as are you.

KyleeTheSadist

Of all the masks you've had, which one is your favorite?

slipknottheendsofar

this one

Murky-Bedroom-5510

Mine too, Corey. Mine too, it’s just perfect

newman1223

What was the reason behind the name change for the new album? (“The End For Now…” to “The End, So Far”)

slipknottheendsofar

The End, So Far was the correct name somebody fucked up and didn't double check with us

Beaudaci0us

Oof.

_AskMyMom_

What’s the last thing that inspired you, outside of music?

slipknottheendsofar

Probably watching my wife and my son kicking ass in their own respective professions. It makes me crazy proud

coffinnailvgd

Dude, saw Vended a few months ago with Code Orange, Dying Wish and LOATHE in NYC. Did t know who they were but they threw the fuck down and now I’m such a fan! Good job being a kick ass dad!!

Kaylafampp

How long did making this new album take you guys?

slipknottheendsofar

hard to say because it was spread out over a certain amount of time

Aegbias

Your screams on The Chapeltown Rag (you know which ones) are amazingly intense. How many takes did it take you to nail that?

slipknottheendsofar

I only do a couple takes each

No-Vacation-824

How did you come up with all the masks you have owned?

slipknottheendsofar

I just SAW them, in my head. Then it was a matter of working with an artist

Longjumping_Ebb7386

Which masks was most and least comfortable to wear?

slipknottheendsofar

None and All

blade740

To follow up, have you ever wished you guys DIDN'T come up with the mask thing? Like, do you ever wish you didn't have this expectation that you'll be performing with 3 pounds of latex on your head?

EtsuRah

I know I'm not a member of the band and it seems like this went unanswered. But I vaguely remember one of the band members talking about this very question before and the response was along the lines of: We could always remove the masks entirely but you can never gain anonymity again. And that its nice that they can mostly enjoy privacy when needed. That was the gist of what I remember. Like outside of the fans of the band nobody really knows their face. And that its nice having the choice to be noticed when they want and slip into a crowd when they want.

Longjumping_Ebb7386

That's a much better question. Curious if it gets annoying often being known as the mask guys?

No-Professional-1884

Jim Carrey seemed to bounce back from it.

Longjumping_Ebb7386

Nuff said

zappapostrophe

Do you do specialised neck workouts, or is that a natural consequence of head-banging?

slipknottheendsofar

It pays to fight like a giraffe

zappapostrophe

Thank you for replying!

SlackerAccount

Fucking lol

HoxtiliciousSupreme

Is there an album or a song you've written that you wish you could rerecord or change in some way?

slipknottheendsofar

No not really. There are certain things I wish I could ADD to certain songs, but never change. These songs are snapshots of our different eras. I don't want to become the George Lucas of metal haha.

makemeking706

> don't want to become the George Lucas of metal Corey knows his audience.

BigUptokes

Greedo mask when?

killeronthecorner

You were just looking for an opportunity to come at George Lucas. AMA my ass

WorldlyCorgi

AMATICUTROGL (Ask Me Anything That I Can Use To Rip On George Lucas)

TheLameloid

I'm debating on which mask of yours to wear for this year's Halloween party. Which one do you think works the best?

slipknottheendsofar

whichever one scares the neighbors

IBILISTAKIDAGAIN

And that’s why I’m going as you during vol3

Jcaky

Thanks for giving so much of yourself man, Slipknot has been quite a big chunk of my life since the 00's and I used to spend entire fucking hours watching your music videos back then :) My question: how has social media changed your approach to music/being part of a band? Do you feel closer to your fans now or do you miss interactions like they were before?

slipknottheendsofar

That's a good question. Honestly since I myself have gotten OFF of social media, I've gotten back to that old connection with the fans. It feels better and more real face to face, and there are no trolls around to ruin moments haha

Traditional_Aioli_29

Can you please provide an update on Look Outside Your Window?

slipknottheendsofar

That's a Clown question

kingmob555

Clown told us it was a "Corey question". He also told us you'd be providing pie.

Benedict-Awesome

More people will come if you tell them there'll be punch and pie

Goalie-Gab

Clown question bro

skate_and_zombies

Which song was your most favorite to record on TESF? Also, bonus question, why the last minute album change?

slipknottheendsofar

Wasn't an album change- the label fucked up our name. The album was ALWAYS called TE,SF. Favorite was Yen

WastelandSurvival

What city consistently has the craziest fans? I was at the show in Phoenix last night and it was INSANE.

slipknottheendsofar

There are several- Phoenix is definitely one. Albuquerque, London, Glasgow, Tokyo, Sydney, Rio, Mexico City... the list goes on and on. I'd be here all day haha

Grimsrasatoas

Been to a few metal shows in Glasgow (originally from Boston) and can confirm the fans there are fuckin NUTS. Classic Scots tbf

StoxAway

Grew up in Edinburgh. You wait so fucking long for your favourite band to come along and they do one show on Scotland, but thankfully it's a small country and most cities have a train to Glasgow so every single fan in the country makes the pilgrimage because you've no idea when they'll be back. Makes for a special atmosphere I really haven't felt at gigs in other parts of the country.

bookerman

First time here, fan for life now. Can barely talk lol

hm-amaral

Is the new mask the worse to look out from? Feels like your field of vision is very narrow.

slipknottheendsofar

It's not great. I'm '89 Batman' up there- have to turn my head from the shoulders

MrrrrNiceGuy

Reminds me of the mask Dr Decker, aka Ol’ Button Face, wears in Clive Barker’s Nightbreed 👍

MisterCheaps

He said elsewhere in this AMA that was the inspiration :)

yowhatsupitsme67

Hey Corey, what were some of the influences when writing Adderall?

slipknottheendsofar

Adderall definitely leans into my Cure/ Depeche Mode influences. When the guys sent me the music, I knew we had a chance to throw it back to some Vol. 3 vibes, so I leaned into my old goth days haha.

[deleted]

I absolutely love this 🖤 I could definitely hear the Depeche influence in Adderal and it became my favorite off this album pretty quickly :)

TylerBirdman

Any future mask variants coming? This era’s mask has definitely been my favorite!

slipknottheendsofar

Not right now but you never know

RVPMatt123

The new Slipknot album as absolutely wonderful. Aside from the 3 singles, which of the songs on the album are you looking forward to performing most?

slipknottheendsofar

Oh, Acidic 100%. That song got me so excited to record that I started writing the lyrics on the first listen.

RVPMatt123

I'm not surprised, it's a really good song! Fucking adore the creepy vibes it gives off, the blues effect works to a T

joemamagay69696969

when recording this album, how did you imagine it would sound like and did it satisfy you when you heard the final product?

slipknottheendsofar

I knew it would be killer because we had Joe Baressi

[deleted]

He brought out the best of TOOL, glad to see he did that with you guys, too.

wanykM

What is the best thing about the process of creating an album?

slipknottheendsofar

eventually playing the songs live

PenguBengu

What was the process like while recording the music video for Yen?

slipknottheendsofar

Took three days, I dressed like Teddy Roosevelt, my nipples got chafed, and at the end Clown turned the video into an acid trip

flipflopflup4

hey corey! are you guys planning for more world tour? after youre done with the remaining tour?

slipknottheendsofar

Yes we are- check [slipknot1.com](https://slipknot1.com) for details

DeadHorse09

Do you ever think about how to increase awareness for the arts amongst young men; particular those that are frustrated and angry for various reasons? I feel like if more young men understood the power of the pen, so to speak, they would find themselves more at peace.

slipknottheendsofar

This is the result of defunding of the arts on a local and state level. When people don't KNOW what they're not being exposed to, they don't know what they're missing. My advice is to find any and all local orgs that are raising money and awareness for the arts esp. in schools and donate or pump up their profile. It all starts local.

DeadHorse09

Agreed! Start where you can affect change, close to home. Cheers, Corey. Your approach to life has given me many lessons and I’m forever grateful!

Kpat_890

Are there any films, TV shows, or books that inspire the aesthetic of Slipknot? Be it your masks, or music, or stage presence.

slipknottheendsofar

Not really. But Cronenberg's mask in 'Night Breed' certainly inspired my new one this time around.

Kpat_890

Yeah I totally see it! Thanks for the answer!

Current_Seat4581

How did you learn how to scream and sing?

slipknottheendsofar

Time and Outcomes

jdizzle161

December 8th birthdays unite! How the hell do you have any voice left after doing so many shows each week during your tours? If I get too I to a single song in my car on the way to work, someone else is teaching my classes!

slipknottheendsofar

At my age, it comes down to pace and recovery. Knowing your limits, and also trying not to get sick helps haha

Nia_44

mashed potatoes or baked potatoes?

slipknottheendsofar

Mashed- any chance I get to use gravy I jump at it.

caiiqef

Next December we have the very first Knotfest in Brazil. Are you excited for the event? What do Brazilian can expect from the new album for the setlist and their first Knotfest?

slipknottheendsofar

Gonna be a blast We'll give you eveyrthing you want to hear

wanykM

First of all congratulations. The maturity of the new album is amazing. How do you feel after all these years with the nine on stage?

slipknottheendsofar

My back hurts haha

scara0325

how is craig doing

slipknottheendsofar

Doin great- still mute.

Hayabusasteve

I feel like Craig could do a AMA and just leave blank replies to everyone haha. Loved you guys in KC. Say hi to Sid's crazy ass.

Thrashfork

someone needs to turn the sound on

isuckatpeople

How's Chris Fehn doing?

slipknottheendsofar

Don't know.

not_your_kind_666

Loudwire will be posting an article about this later

BrokenBeatScarred03

"This is what Corey Taylor thinks"

OddAnnual6325

The new Slipknot album is amazing, I have some questions: 1. Who were some of the artists or songs that inspired the new album? 2. your screams and voice seem a lot better now, have you been training/taking care of your voice more often now? 3. will you plan to do anything with Stone Sour in the future after the Slipknot Tour?

slipknottheendsofar

1- The Cure, Death, Prodigy 2- no, it's just gotten stronger since I quit smoking. 3- no

Lycan_Scat

Congrats on quitting smoking!

Wojciech-Knul

This is a question for you as a musician. Before you release an album, do you know which song is going to get the most popular? If yes, how?

slipknottheendsofar

No not really There are times I'm CONVINCED I know which ones people are going to love and I'm 98% incorrect haha

thatJainaGirl

During the recording of Nevermind, Nirvana and their label were sure "Lithium" would be the big hit. It was the leading single, and they had thousands and thousands of singles printed and ready before the album released. Then the album released and everyone loved "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and they had to scramble to print singles for the surprise hit.

BionicWasTaken

What have you been listening to lately?

slipknottheendsofar

XTC

illufixe

What is your absolute favorite tattoo?

slipknottheendsofar

It varies from day to day. Today? My Bowie one

mrgozjr

Where the world tour will be announced? 🇲🇫

slipknottheendsofar

Soonish

wanykM

Is possible to us see something about "Knot" label supporting new bands? <3

slipknottheendsofar

stay tuned

BAwarford

Please tell me Warranty is going to be added to the setlist. The second I heard "Is this what you came here for" I knew it'd POP in a live setting

slipknottheendsofar

we'll see!

Trivs666

You're stuck on a desert island with 3 records, what records are those?

slipknottheendsofar

Master of Puppets- Metallica Midnite Vultures- Beck Trouble- Ray Lamontagne

mealucra

Midnight Vultures ✌️✌️✌️

DangerDoobie

corey it brings me great joy knowing you love beck as much as i do

MyoosikMan

Your neck is majestic - some would say a national treasure. Do you reckon it is the result of years of headbanging, or were you simply born that way?

slipknottheendsofar

I'd say a little bit of both

maybeinoregon

What is the worst part of touring?

slipknottheendsofar

The Smell

Jamezko

Hey Corey, are there any plans to take Jinjer on tour with Slipknot in the US since they had to cancel this year? Love what you do brother, been a fan since 1999.

slipknottheendsofar

We'll have to see- we'd love to

kasyanchik

My hopes to see you live in Kyiv for the first time ever, along with the same hopes of my fellow Ukrainian maggots, have been crushed yet again, sadly. I am sincerely hoping you'll come play in Kyiv when we win this war. \*fingers crossed\*. By the way, how about a Knotfest in Ukraine? I have it on good authority that your minds will be blown away (definitely no pun intended). Stay (sic). /m\\

slipknottheendsofar

We cannot WAIT to come to your country after this war is over. And if we CAN, we will definitely bring Knotfest to you as well.

kasyanchik

Then that's one more compelling reason to be victorious and stay alive along the way! Much love from Ukraine!

rananicolee

You guys asked us this question but what is YOUR favorite song on TESF?

slipknottheendsofar

Mine? Yen and Acidic

reeealboi

Yen is definitely the best.

d3m01iti0n

Hey Corey, which Fear Factory album is your favorite?

slipknottheendsofar

Demanufacture

FarPerformancef40

Only answer there could be.

SP_0101

Is there a reason for songs like Red Flag, Critical Darling, etc, not being played live? Red flag seems like a great song for a live concert.

pharoPlaysBass

What's your favorite band?

slipknottheendsofar

all questions must be submitted in blue or black ink

storvolleng

Csnt tell is this is an actual band or a very strange joke answer to the question

atreestump1

I believe it's a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy reference. He's avoiding the question for reasons I can only guess at.

[deleted]

gio_eee_1029

Have you heard of the band loathe? And would you guys consider taking them out on tour?

slipknottheendsofar

I'll check em out

schridoggroolz

Your son actually just toured with them.

gabzglo

Coreyyyy, how do you take your coffee? ☕️🫶🏻 Also, love your new puppy!!

slipknottheendsofar

Black as fuck It's my whiskey replacement. and thank you! Spud Taylor RULEZ

LetterZee

Fucking finally someone gets it. I've been calling hot black coffee my whiskey replacement for years and no one gets what I mean.

mini0nat0r

as a person who really wants to write lyrics but feels their work is complete shit, how do you go about writing lyrics?

slipknottheendsofar

write what you feel and you'll never be wrong stop caring about what other people are going to think and do it for YOU

B-L-N-K

What was the main influence for the song adderall?

slipknottheendsofar

David Gahan

Dacheezblock

I was at your Q&A event in Columbus, Ohio, and it was a blast. Do you have any plans for anything else in Columbus in the near future?

slipknottheendsofar

not right now but that could change at any moment

ProfessionalMouse346

What is plan now that y'all are no longer obligated to work for RR? Also, I remember you mentioning awhile back about wanting to do something with the old song Do Nothing/Bitchslap is there any possibility that we'll see this song redone? It's one of my favorites from the early years of Slipknot.

edge-bean

Is there a song you wish you never made/would want to do over

slipknottheendsofar

Nope!

TheDreamer57

Any updates on Look Outside Your Window?

p3trync

I would kill to hear Gehenna live. And you, would kill too?

slipknottheendsofar

so would I

001dtt

Slipknot has always had more slower and experimental songs on every album (Prosthetics, Gently, Circle, My Pain etc) and yet these songs are always polarizing to the fanbase. How do you go about these style of songs knowing what people are gonna say? Is it challenging to take the risk? Ps. Yes, Adderall is my favorite off the new album.

slipknottheendsofar

You HAVE to please yourself FIRST. That's how we do it. If YOU don't like the song, how do you expect the AUDIENCE to like it? We have always started with our own taste first, and if the fans come along? So be it. If not? There are other songs.

SirMurfington

Hi Corey. How is your day going?

slipknottheendsofar

I'm smelly but caffeinated.

001dtt

Corey give me some horror movie recommendations real quick I need something to watch

slipknottheendsofar

The Nan Movie, Showgirls, Father Hood... Oh wait you said HORROR movies....

Hey_sexy_

The real horror of Showgirls was knowing that was grandpa's favorite movie

mtraded

I wonder what's his favourite horror movie

Lorac108

Any plans for a new book soon??

slipknottheendsofar

I've been toying with a couple ideas. But I'm actually more into writing novels/scripts right now. Stay tuned.

Thrashfork

NOVELS/SCRIPTS? I'M SO READY FOR THIS

WillieStroker69

Hi, Corey! I’m really enjoying the new Slipknot album! Question: If you had to choose any one of your masks to wear for the rest of your life, which one would you pick and why?

slipknottheendsofar

current one it's not super gross yet

Aggressive-Survey-49

Has your solo career as CMFT influenced your writing on The End So Far? Love the album dude

slipknottheendsofar

No not really. It's fun being able to divide and conquer, so to speak. I thrive on diversity, so being able to lean into the different styles keeps me always searching for the best I can do.

Aggressive-Survey-49

Thanks so much for answering my question. I’ve loved slipknot all my life so it feels like a real honor

obi_kennawobi

How much is a feared negative reception from your audience preventing you or the whole band from releasing experimental songs where you're doing whatever the fuck you want?

slipknottheendsofar

None. Have you HEARD the new album?

Dima4_

What is your favourite song on the new album Corey?.
