Work Guns

Work guns

The NCOIC of our post’s 2 gun competition brought a guest who was a 5th Group guy. These are his work guns. Awesome dude let me shoot all of them and taught us some.

ozzy9322

You lost me when I saw the aero lower. They are clones of his “work guns” probably.

Jon9243

Are they clones of his work guns? Cause that seems like a civi m17 (based off the slide, cant see the serial) and the EoTech is a civi model along with the la5 looks airsoft based off the windage/ elevation adjustment on it. Sig lpvo also doesn’t seem to be the military version based off the markings. 14.5 is also a Geissele upper.

HardLuck682

The issued LPVO would be in a sig mount, not a BA mount as well.

Professional_Menu408

Ok well then answer me why my sig is in a badger mount. I shit can’d the sig mount when I was issued it. And yes a lot of ODA teams can check out their uppers. So not unusual to see it on a civi lower.

Jon9243

I said nothing about the badger mount. Mounts get changed all the time but that is not a military sig as it lacks the marking on the ocular bell. I’m also aware that uppers will occasionally get checked out, however that isnt a military upper. It has a Geissele gas block.

Professional_Menu408

So I’m always willing to learn as I never payed attention to our issued systems markings until I started following this thread. What markings should the scopes have? When I get in tomorrow I’m going to go hit up the armorer’s. I know some are allocated and some are unit purchased. I’m curious now if they all have the markings.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> I never *paid* attention to FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Jon9243

The contract optics general have unique markings to the contracts, elcans su230s and EoTech su231s (the one pictured in this post is also a civilian optic) being the best examples but the tango isn’t any different. https://imgur.com/a/4J789lN

Professional_Menu408

Thanks for that going to take a look tomorrow when I get in.

AdEnough9135

Nah he is an active duty Green Bean and those are literally the exact rifles he uses at work. The LAM is an Atpial UHP and is way more powerful than an LA5. I asked bc he had an Aimpoint H1 on his 14.5 but he said they can just call company’s or put in requests for anything and get them.

M3sothelioma

Definitely not his work guns... Those aren't issued lowers lol.

[deleted]

They aren’t issued uppers either. For one, they’re WAY too clean to be team guns. But the big giveaway is the Geissele gas block, which are not used on USASOC URGIs. Also the fake LA5 and the non-SU-231 commercial eotech

Jon9243

He may be active duty but doesn’t mean those rifles are. It’s an NGAL LA23 on the left , on the 14.5. The airsoft or somogear LA5 is on the 11.5.

AdEnough9135

It’s a L3 UHP but hey man he said he uses these for work, and he knew what tf he was talking about and man he could shoot.

Jon9243

L3 is the manufacturer. The NGAL LA-23 is not known as the UHP. That is the LA5C and LA5E which are the UHP versions of the LA5B (the later being NAVSPEC). Both of which are actually stronger then the NGAL.

AdEnough9135

He did bring a personal lowers and the slide and grip module are his issued but he can’t take the serialized parts off post

Jon9243

That is not an m17 slide.

AdEnough9135

It’s not but it’s also socom so why would they use the dogshit m17, I’m sorry I don’t remember the slide manufacturers name

Jon9243

Because they still fall under the US Army and are issued them… plenty of photos of m17s with 5th group and the rest of the groups. The slide is just a sig slide. They make multiple variations of them. Examples of m17s with SOCOM https://imgur.com/a/yx55rVL

AdEnough9135

They are also issued glock 19s and 17s but us infantry aren’t, they have a huge inventory of products and weapons to use that nobody else gets besides other units that fall under socom

Jon9243

Yes. And those things have specific tells which is how I can point out with certainty that the majority of objects in these photos are civilian variants of what is commonly used. The only thing I think that looks legit is the LA-23. Which very well could be real (the la5 definitely isn’t real) but doesn’t mean it’s gov property. I’m not saying he doesn’t use something similar, I just think the story got crossed along the way and that these are clones of his guns at work.

M3sothelioma

All of SOCOM uses the M17, in fact we get issued what the big Army gets issued. The Team guys have more leeway and procurement packages specific to them (like URG-I and Block 2), but overall if it fits the role fine then we use it. Plenty of guys in 3rd Group are running the M17s and carrying them downrange right now in Africa, as are some of my friends who are Enablers with them.

Vader_117117117

Work guns you say? What work? No third pin, Aero lower, hell there’s even witness marks on the scope mount that aren’t witnessed to anything 😂

Confident-End7584

Work rifle would indicate 3rd pin. Bipod on the left rifle throws me off big time.

[deleted]

How does an atlas bipod throw you off?

Dyzastr_us

It’s not Magpul, bruh! /s. Maybe he said it cuz it was a shorter rifle. I’ve seen bipods on mk18’s however.

Existing_War2078

Either he’s a group admin or he work at bass pro shop

Cartz4Carter

My brother in Christmas, that is an Aero lower lol

BravoActual_0311

They don’t auto sears, they clones. Badass though.

sb77steve

What did you think of the sig lpvo?

AdEnough9135

It was nice, pretty fast to pick up the reticle like a razor gen II but I’m not a big 1-6 guy, I prefer an optic in mils, like my 1-8x ATACR

irish-riviera

These arent issued work guns. Your buddy is lying to you. They are remakes or clones of whats issued. Still sick though.

HardLuck682

5th Group has Aero Lowers and a non-roll marked lower? Also, no FA function. Just my 2¢

cronkite1105

Is that the alpha tarac?

AdEnough9135

Yes it is, made 800m hits a cake walk

cronkite1105

Future is now

18BrV0

Work guns from 5th group with an aero lower???

kylereesejd

LA5 from IS?

Cucasmasher

Idk much about Sigs but in guessing that grip frame is to make it more 1911ish? I’m digging it

AdEnough9135

Ya it had the same grip angle as a 1911, was a very nice shooter

AdEnough9135

Well I was probably wrong guys they do seem like his lowers are personal which makes sense bc he wouldn’t be able to leave post with them. He said those where his work set ups, could be his clones of them idk.

poop_steam

How you like the brouwer grip?

AdEnough9135

I liked it a lot, same grip angle and feel of a 1911 and thinner and lighter than my x5 legion

poop_steam

Been really considering one

AdEnough9135

I’d say it’s worth the money

Weak-Professional156

What rail is that?

thecal714

Geissele Mk16, as part of the URGI.

Weak-Professional156

Thanks

HardLuck682

Post these in r/URGI

ShallKnotBeInfringed

Your p320 irons don’t function as Backup Iron Sights, not tall enough for the delta pro. Ask me how I know ;)

VilkasVision

Work he says. More like play time, am I right?!

NEVERVAXXING

**Not** work guns
