Any idea why they’d be out this low? Training I would assume?

River fire is a big event. This is all related to that. Putting on a show for the public.
The public in Aus must be a little less excited to see shows of force by the state these days.
Don't believe everything you read online about Australia.
95% of people are complying with current lockdown restrictions so that the healthcare system isn't overwhelmed and they avoid gruesome death rates imagery like that seen in the US. The protestors are anti vaxxers and a small minority of construction workers who are scared of needles. They also literally pissed all over a memorial to Australian & New Zealand troops, not exactly role models.
The conservative federal government fucked up the vaccine rollout which put the country well behind the rest of the developed world, hence new restrictions.
Also FYI the city featured in this clip is not under any restrictions currently, due to short sharp "circuit breaker" lockdowns that nip small clusters in the bud.
A little pedantic, but these Tigers are operated by the Australian Army, not the RAAF. And they are getting replaced by Apaches from 2025. There are also videos of an RAAF C17 doing low levels over the Brisbane river for River fire on reddit today.
They're practicing for an event that happens in Brisbane every year, it's called Riverfire.
The military flying planes and helicopters around is the standout event.
Making sure everyone has a loicense to be outside.
Urban combat in some mega city is gonna be a shit show for for helicopters flying that low. Someone sitting on the top floor of one of those skyscrapers is gonna have a field day.
At least we’ll find out where all those stingers went.
Another old lady expressing an opinion on the street?
Mandating the vaccine lol
“Where’s your vaccine card!? You have ten seconds to comply!”
After seeing the C-17 flyover and now this I need to go see this festival or whatever it is. . .
Those boaters did not have masks on.
the attack helicopter equivalent of a little kid looking for their mom.
Air show there this week
Looking for submarines obviously.
The reason our POS helicopters are hovering around is for river annual event were we fly along the river through the city this year it was the mh90, tiger and c17.
We used to do it with the f111 doing a dump and burn
A C17 flying at 100m with the Brisbane city as a backdrop is way fucking cooler
man the growlers are at amberly give us some fast bois again
Best guess is simulating CAS in a MOUT exercise.
Enforcing lockdown I hope.
Brisbane isnt under any lockdown.
It’s hard to imagine a scenario where Australia would need to use those militarily except in other country's wars. I doubt a Chinese invasion is likely in the next 100 years.
