Sounds like your pretty much after Sleep Token - few hitters of theirs like that are The Love You Want, The Offering & Like That
90% of Sleep Tokens songs. I love them.
Sleep Token is incredible. even my friends that arent really into much heavy music have all repeated the same thing: "holy shit, these guys are amazing."
I truly believe that they are innovating their own subgenre and if they keep it up they have the potential to be a massive commercial success
honestly idk how i haven't checked them out yet
Listen to *Higher* and *Hypnosis*, they have the nastiest breakdowns.
Lol you basically described the formula for most their songs.
The album Sundowning in a nutshell- except not a whole lot of screaming
But who needs screaming when the music itself speaks so loudly
looks like i commented without noticing someone else did. seriously, if what you described is what youre looking for, youve just found a new favorite band.
oh man you’re gonna lose your mind
TAKE A BITE
Sleep token is godtier atmospheric music.
Spiritbox does that a lot: Blessed Be, Halcyon, Hysteria all follow that type of structure
Hysteria is brutal I love the build up
yea spiritbox is really something else
they deliver the ending in an amazing way every single time
Hurikan or however tf Electric callboy spells it
That song fucks
Friend of mine works as a nurse and has been having some fun with it at a nursing home lol
Schlager music is very popular with the elderly here so at first they’re often pretty into it.
They're into it until that world ending breakdown hits
Some 70something year old lady actually quite liked it. Perhaps ‘like’ isn’t the right word but definitely fascinated.
Tbh the residents in general seemed to enjoy the experiences from what I heard, albeit not for the music. They just wanted to see others’ reactions.
Nice to hear that elders can appreciate this kind of music
You’d be surprised. I studied nursing for some time (had to change to software testing due to unforeseen disease) and got to know a few old folks at my internships who liked metalcore, death metal, …
even one who liked black metal. In most cases they had a child who had introduced them to it. The most memorable one was a huge Cradle of Filth fan who had actual merch in her room.
So basically reaction channels for the elederly.
Nothing changed lol
I really wish it was longer, it slaps
Paralyzed by Landmvrks is a good one
Also Visage if you can appreciate french rap
Suufocate also fits this
100% second this
The Death Of Peace Of Mind - Bad Omens
Concrete Jungle - Bad Omens
I fucking love bad omens. That album is fire.
It just builds and builds and builds and then smashes it all into my face.
ARE YOU SATISFIED?
Miracle - Bad Omens
Was looking for this one. The entire album is phenomenal but this song is just a masterpiece
Just saw them live for the first time. Fucking incredible. Can’t wait to see them again
Came here to say this
Rigged by The Plot in You
this gave me chills
That intro is fiiiiierce
Thornhill - Red Summer is what you're looking for, I believe. Such a massive ending section/climax
You have any other songs similar to that? love Red Summer
Give purple static by mirrors a go. Not the same but it’s in a similar vein
Definitely an amazing track. +1 to this. Love mirrors
i like that nice rec thanks
This song gives me so much goosebumps it's unreal.
The Haze / Red Summer back to back is just unreal, love it
Hollow Crown by Architects is kind of like this but overall an amazing track
Came here to say this.
Seven by Phinehas, one of the best songs I’ve ever heard
Piggybacking off of you to say they have more! They’re good at it.
The Storm in Me
Echoing The Storm in Me. What an utter banger.
Dang can't believe I had to scroll this far for this one! First one that came to mind
More Than You Know - Adestria
This is the best answer.
Yes, such a good song!!
I really miss Adestria! Chapters was such a great album !
This is absolutely the one
oh boy. was not ready for that one
The Devil Wears Prada has been doing this with their last two albums.
They've been doing that for a long time, check out "Care More"
Polaris - Martyr (In Waves)
crash and burn by dayseeker
neon grave also by dayseeker
Architects: A open letter to myself.
This song makes me cry lol so much emotion in his voice
Letters to a dead friend by the plot in you
such an underrated song
Hospital for Souls by Bring Me The Horizon is exactly this. Song gives me chills every time.
“The Storm in Me” and “Seven” by Phinehas
Both are masterpieces.
i've just listened to The storm in me and holy fuck i'm speechless
really nice recommendation thank you!
If you liked that then listen to their song Seven too!
was looking for this!
Anna Norma Jean
For entire decades I've written off Norma Jean because I didn't enjoy the stuff I heard off Bless The Martyr back in the early 2000's and I just assumed that was their sound for good. This song coming up on my Spotify Discover Weekly a few months ago made me take notice and now I can't believe just how good they are.
Two ships by oh, sleeper
Try "Invent Animate - As if it Never Was". Not the exact formula you are looking for but you might like it.
Spiritbox - Constance
Aaaaannddd here come the waterworks again.
Some will seek forgiveness, others escape - Underoath
Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear is my personal favourite of theirs in this style
To Whom It May Concern for me
“Casting Such A Thin Shadow” is another good one by Underoath
That was really nice, reminded me of the example i gave by of machines
I came here to drop this gem off
Not exactly metalcore so much as djent, but "Satellites" by Periphery is one of the most beautiful arrangements of music in recent years.
if p5 doesn’t have at least one 10+ minute epic on it, I’m calling the djent police. we were so lucky to have two on p4
I think Mrak already confirmed an 11 minute track 😊😊😊😊
I love the absolute gall of them to *open* the album with a 15 minute epic on P4. Incredible.
Concrete Jungle by Bad Omens
Anomaly by Aviana
This song hits hard at the end, not a long wait for the payout too:
Oh, sleeper - Reveries of flight
Dearbones - Novena
Underoath - too bright to see, too loud to hear
More Post-Hardcore but try:
We are the emergency - all we ever see of the old stars
Microwave - the fever
The Fever!! So so good
Yes Reveries of Flight and also The Color Theft by them!
Not exactly metalcore, but Thread The Needle by Sleep Token
Polaris - [Wherever I May Walk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aNcHRtXu6A&ab_channel=PolarisAus)
Polaris never misses, they always remind me of Architects with more melodic choruses.
always found this track a bit cringey
Pneumonia - Underoath
Bending the rules a bit but Everglow - Starset
ERRA - Memory Fiction. Gotta be one of my favourite songs
Northlane - Clarity.
Technically not metalcore, but might be fitting:
The Drug In Me Is Reimagined - Falling In Reverse
Joking but not joking: Billie Jean by Breathe Carolina.
Song slaps at the end.
Two Worlds Away - Hollow Front
Dusk to day- Polaris
Not new and I feel like I comment this on every post but the correct answer to this question is:
More Than You Know- Adestria
“AND HE SCREAMED AT THE SKY!”
BFMV - Rainbow Veins
not quite metalcore but Sleep Token does a lot of stuff like this.
Atlantic, Sugar, The Love You Want, etc
Isn’t that literally every Sleep Token song?
Silent Planet - In Absence
Almost anything Sleep Token has ever done will do that for ya
Parting gift by Our Hollow, Our Home
Falling in Reverse - Voices in my head
Falling in Reverse - Popular Monster
Starting pretty mainstream and then comes the nasty breakdown :D
Adding to Falling in Reverse, The Drug in Me is Reimagined and I’m Not a Vampire (Revamped)
Also a favorite is Bring Me the Horizon’s Don’t Go
Not Metalcore but Lorna Shore - Cursed To Die is like that
fancy accident by falset
“Laid to rest” by the showdown comes to mind.
Also “Too bright to see, too loud to hear” by Underoath
Funeral Sound by Vein
Sleepless - Adept
Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear - Underoath
In a different sort of style, "No Sides, No Enemies" by While She Sleeps. Its not exactly what you asked but I think its in a similar vein as it teases a riff/theme at the start of the song and then the song plays and slowly builds to a point it reincorporates the theme and it just hits so fucking well
The Mara Effect pt. 3
Crawl by Miss May I
Structures - /
The Light by If I Were You
When Everything Means Nothing (Cinematic) by Fit For A King
Babylon by Loathe!
Bullet For My Valentine - Curses
Underoath’s paper lung
Norma Jean’s falling from the sky
"By Your Love"- Vatican
Nathan from Microwave sings on it, it's a powerful song, and the breakdown lyrics are some of the best! "I reject the shame! I've got a world to paint, one untainted by your love"
that was fire
Dillinger Escape Plan - Widower
Landmarks - Paralyzed
Seven - Phinehas
More than you know by Adestria
With My Lesser Self by The Wise Man’s Fear is an extremely good song. That, coupled with I’ll Be Ok by Nothing More, those two songs got me through my divorce and they both fit the tone you’re looking for.
Bonus points for:
Selfless by It’s Alive
Will We Ever Learn by Wage War
Darker Still by Parkway Drive
Writings on the Wall by Parkway Drive
Left You Behind by Stick To Your Guns
Family First by Woe, Is Me
Satellites by periphery is amazing for this
Electric forest by I see stars
Distance by boys of fall
Nothing left to love - Counterparts
All fucked up - The Amity Affliction
Blessed Be by Spiritbox is also largely calm the whole song until the screams before the end
Satellites by Periphery fits this bill, though not strictly Metalcore.
Also, Anima by Our Sorrows is exactly like what you’re describing
Paper Lung by Underoath
“Atlantic” by Sleep Token
Atlantic - Sleep Token
Huge sound when the beat drops.
pretty much anything from Bad Omens most recent album
Until I wake - Octane and Inside my head
Did we not have this exact thread yesterday? This sub makes me feel like I’m going insane sometimes
This playlist started it's life as only songs like that.
If it means a lot to you - ADTR
Sleep well darling - secrets
Now it's a lot of that stuff and also some acoustic and "softer" metalcore/post hardcore songs.
"let me die how i want" by rxptrs
Everything Will Rust by Misery Signals
Tallah's new track Shaken (Not Stirred) kinda does that.
The Veil by Black Passage
Seven by Phinehas
Medusa by Times of Grace is what I’m thinking
Hellbringer - In Hearts Wake
Two worlds away by Hollow Front
Mannequin by Kubrick
Wildflower by In Hearts Wake
Idotlen by Phrenia - starts out really calm until the last chorus where it's explosive and it's really huge, no screaming or anything like that though.
Silent Planet-Panic Room comes to mind
Weakness leaving my Heart by Heaven Shall Burn
Justice for the Damned - Beyond the Pale
Might be a bit heavy for "metalcore" but such a melodic build up into absolute violence. Amazing song.
Phinehas - Seven
Dude, Sun Killer blew my fuckin mind. All the way.
Desolate (The Conductor) - Woe, Is Me
Two Worlds Away by Hollow Front
Edit: Also Seven by Phinehas
Seven by Phinehas. Love that song!
sun. kill. er. sing. me. to SLEEP.
SUUUUUUUN KIIIILLLLLLER SING MEEEE TO SLEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPP
14 years past 80 - Johnny Booth
Promise you won’t regret checking this one out.
Crash and Burn by Dayseeker
Karmanjakah - Unseen
This song is insane
The Plot In You: Rigged, Disposable Fix, Letters To A Dead Friend
Try Elephant Bones- Eidola. Not technically Metalcore but amazing nonetheless.
On the insides - Of Mice and Mens breakdown live is so good. I wasn't a fan of defy until that tour with Cane Hill and Blessthefall. Holy shit did those songs transfer really well live.
Two Ships by Oh Sleeper.
The gifthorse - amity affliction
Two ships - oh, sleeper
The storm in me - phineas
Life//lost - currents
Mend You by Times of Grace
I thnik Enough, Enough Now by Bad Omens is an example of this, even though it has screams, it's still calm.
The Storm In Me and Seven by Phinehas
Silent Planet - Inhabit The Wound
Seven by Phinehas. One of my favorite songs ever.
Good Grief by WSS.
Kubrick - Painfall
We descend by shadow of intent
Reveries of Flight and The Color The by Oh, Sleeper. Not so modern anymore though :,(
Anomaly - Aviana
Late to the party, but I'll also add Breathe by Sheridan.
The band is criminally slept on.
Definitely bread and roses by stray from the path, absolutely slaps
"Two Ships" by Oh, Sleeper
"The man I was not" by Fit For An Autopsy
Doesn’t exactly fit, but Speak by The Chariot is probably one of the best softer screaming songs. Lol
Everything Will Rust- Misery Signals
Demon of my Own- Like Moths to Flames
Crash and Burn by Dayseeker.
Hurricane by I Prevail
Vatican - Where Heavens Collide is pretty light until they throw in a fat ass breakdown towards the end
Pretty different but With My Lesser self by The Wise Man's Fear
Laniakea- August Burns Red
Spiritbox - Hysteria
Mirage by Oceans ate Alaska
Not modern, but a couple of my favorites with this structure are:
The Chosen Pessimist - In Flames
I Won't See You Tonight Pt. 1 - Avenged Sevenfold
I've been wanting to find more like them.
Nazareth by Sleep Token
