As if the games had any continuity in the first placeā¦ Its Mario lol. It reinvents itself all the time. How many versions of peachās castle or the mushroom kingdom have we seen over the years?
Hell, even games in the same continuity are inconsistent with layouts.
For example, in the *Paper Mario* games Mario and Luigi's house changes every single game.
There are bound to be things that donāt quite line up with all the games, especially since the continuity is so loose. But thatās fine. This doesnāt have to be THE Mario adaptation, as long as itās a good Mario adaptation.
The film takes place in an alternate continuity (presumably), plus we donāt know if theyāre actually bringing it back, those look like street signs, meaning that it would be ābrooklyn streetā (unless thatās how American districts are designated)

I think they're talking about the green thing across the street from where the kid is walking the dog on the left side of the poster. If you zoom way in there does seem to be a little black smudge on it, but I dunno how people are deciphering that as "New Donk City". Is there a higher resolution version of this poster somewhere?
If anything she looks more like your typical animated character, but not like Peach from the games and not quite like Mario (in the movie) either. I don't hate it, though.

Other than something with Peaxhes face (I think it's the eyes that I need to adjust too) looks good. Could care less for the "Luigi'd" meme attempt but that's expected and the trailer already showed some promising comedy. Nod to Super Show is a welcome suprise along with seeing how Brooklyn will look in the movie and loving the design so far, plus getting to see how the over "ordinary" humans look and they fit the carton aesthetic.
The first one is so.. incoherent. everything looks haphazardly slapped together while none of the pieces belong with each other. the rest are perfectly fine but that first one... eghh.
Will that Toad be the ONLY Fearless Toad? Or is it a setup for "I fear NOTHING...except THAT"? Just a thought.
Oh and they could squeeze in a Captain Toad scene at the end as well then!
Hot take: the hyper-realistic features are off-putting. It's a little uncanny valley for Peach to have such a realistic nose, or for Mario and Luigi to have discernable hair on their mustaches. Otherwise, it looks amazing and I'm looking forward to it.
"No one wants to hear Martinet for 2 hours." is a weird statement, like did you not see all the people saying they wanted him to be mario in the movie?
Some people thought they wanted it, but if they actually got it they would quickly change their minds. I still believe Martinet could've done a different, more toned down version though if it weren't for $$$
My friends and I examined these posters and had the greatest laughs lmao, especially at the Luigi one, needless to say they look amazing, love the detail (also the Bros. are back for plumbing! Pauline is there too!)
I personally never liked any of that "mario is from new york" stuff, but the movie is its own thing, they can do whatever, idc. At least aren't doing the "Chris is live action and becomes mario when he gets sucked into the game" idea I saw people speculating about lol
