I think a literal fusion makes up for missing one of two megas. They still got gigantamaxes, even if it was a paywall (even though it should've been free but that's an argument for another time). I'm not sure about Venasuar, but I know for a fact that Blastoise is in Pokenn. When Pokémon trainer was brought back we got Squirtle and Ivysuar, which while they aren't fully evolved, they're still playable characters from that evolution line The TCG I don't know much about, but I doubt there's enough different and unique charizard cards to double the attention. I'll agree the Kanto starters get more love than literal main game legendaries, but it's not just charizard. All three Kanto starters are about as equally loved by gamefreak.
