That’s dope…

That’s dope…

keksivaras

I lost my best friend almost 2 years ago, and I don't have anything that's his or reminds me of him, except his records in one racing game. but the game doesn't work on my new phone, and devs refuse to help, because I'm a single person with the problem. maybe one day I get to relive one of those nights I had with him

creepinonacomeupE99

This just gave me goosebumps, as I think of my son and I playing a racing game. He just turned 7.

Agreeable-Yams8972

That would be horrible losing a father figure on your life, hopefully you get to watch your son grow up and become a great man

Middle-agedMuppet

High score straight to the heart

ForgivingCogivarg

I've seen that a lot, yet I'll never downvote it.

theinfamousches

I’m not crying. You are and it just looks like I’m crying

Elystel

\*hands a tissue

Goomy4

Indeed I am

151alani

Yes I am

myz-ryo

Also known as the saddest comment on Youtube

ShutItYouSlice

May you never pass the finish line 1st.

XxXS2mle100les_

"So it was not really a ghost?" "No... no it really was a ghost... to me at least."

MainEstablishment232

you piece of shit look at what youve done. at first i wasnt sad now im sad as fuck crying

DesertTiger26

Did you just make this up or was it part of the story?

XxXS2mle100les_

Made it up and im proud of it

ripleyrichard

That really is dope

dimestoredavinci

2001 is now vintage.... fuck, I feel old

Maroshne

Technically speaking things that are 25 years old (That's the minimun) are vintage, you are posting this on 2021 so 2001 isn't vintage yet. 1996 is vintage.

Zfighter219

Fuck, that means I'm vintage

Maroshne

You can say your are now like a good drink, aged lmao

dimestoredavinci

I graduated that year.

KendraCobalty

This reminds me of the opening race from the Speed Racer movie, which was honestly one of my favorite movies when I was little. Basically, to sum it up, the main character is a race car driver, and is on a track that his dead older brother set the all time lap record on and the main character can see the line that his brother takes, and he intentionally slows down at the end so he doesn't beat the record

immaProgrammer

Was looking for this

jolluxxwiff

Oh man. My dad was a huge bears and Cubs fan. He even had the 1985 Super Bowl play at his funeral and requested everyone wear bears/Cubs attire to his funeral. He had recorded on the DVR and watched a Cubs game a week or so before he died. I had that game saved on the DVR for quite a bit until one day I accidentally deleted it. I broke down pretty hard.

snakepatay

Thats fuckin awsome! I would also never beat the record!!

Hyperbug1124

I’m not crying your crying 🥲🥺

Ueverthinkwhy

The was absolutely beautiful.. 😢

tomboyfancy

Man, I really miss my dad.

Dismal-Sprinkles-263

I’m so disappointed that every. Single. Good or whole comment had been downvoted. I mean. You don’t like the repost, I get that. But to then scroll through and do vote for saying this made them cry? How miserable of a person are you that you scroll through the simple happy comments and feel they need a downvote.

ImaFreemason

That is so amazing! If that is not a sign, I don't know what is.

driv3rcub

If you guys could just go one day without making me cry a bit that would be great. This just touched my soul.

FireShooters

I was wondering where this was going, but when I finally understood... That's the sweetest fucking thing I've read all day

nenihi

Why tf can't i give more than one upvote to this. Goosebumps hearing this story.

vancity_85

Awwwwwwww 😭

sam88ms1

I've seen this post probably 20 times. I read it and smile every time. It's the definition of bitter sweet

deer_in_a_trenchcoat

Who put these tears on my face??

Sierra-Modeling-

This really made my day

_der_sebi_

;-;

ltreeves9905

Im crying not a joke at all

Slyboots_908

You should watch Speed Racer. Awesome film with the same kind of legacy sentiment. Emile Hirsch does a great job.

7thGenwonderEX

That's deep shit... Why did I get on reddit today?

Ryolu35603

So, I keep my homepage tailored to mentally positive threads. MadeMeSmile, Aww, RarePuppers, WholesomeMemes, AnimalsBeingBros . . . I offer you my congratulations, as despite the amount of positivity I aim for, this is the first thing to actually get me teared up.

randomsurferhere

His father would want for him to beat the ghost. Every good father wants their kid to do better than they ever did, IMO.

Hyperbug1124

True my dad tells me that all the time especially since I’m surpassing him in school so yeah haha 😁

joeschmo945

Who put those onions there???

CommasSuitYa

I'm not crying. You're crying.

TheBearPokesYou

This was dope the first time it was posted this week.

Maroshne

The first time it was posted wasn't this week. This is very old

TheBearPokesYou

I know, I just saw it earlier this week. Maybe I’m on reddit too much, because people are upvoting it like it’s new.

Maroshne

Don't bother, let them be happy

ExMachina70

That would have been so messed up if he had accidentally beaten his dads' record.

yuval_koren

Considering I’m on Reddit, I’m surprised I didn’t find this on r/kidsarefuckingstupid

Sirkyle666

Just another karma farming repost.... NEXT!

Relevant-Ad-1297

Quit thinking you have more than one consciousness exsistance! That mindset presents the opportunity to waste the one you KNOW you have.

Boomtheape

Where have i seen this before…..

rockthepants

It's the opening scene of Speed Racer

Sp1ffy_Sp1ff

Isn't this almost word for word stolen from someone making the same claim but for Mario Kart 64? Right down to the ghost and stopping to let it win.

GreyJester1996

Speedracer movie vibes.

Equal-Respond-5400

This is the exact plot of speed racer the movie, but better.

friesnriddles

Wow, idk what to say, that's pretty cool.. rip to your dad

AMICUS_

Chills mate

Sushimi_bos

Yall seen speed racer yet? If you like this go watch speed racer

metal88heart

Oof

No-Adhesiveness3316

Speed Racer does the same thing in the Wachoski movie.

Magek17

I almost cried

Aralera_Kodama

Ah yes! I used to play Mario kart with my son on the GameCube and his ghosts are still on there! I miss my boy.

Ok-Letterhead4601

I don’t think I have ever teared up so fast in my life.

Tehpunisher456

Reminds me of the speed racer movie

castlebay

This was made into a (very) short film too: [Player Two](https://youtu.be/gCtSgb-b7zg)
