Poor Frank. The commentators talked up his improved defense but honestly all he did was put his hands up. No head movement, no footwork, didn't try to parry or stifle the hands or whatever...I don't know what the improved defense was supposed to be
Probably in the elite 1% in the world to even get in the UFC much less go on a main card. If you have ever stepped into a combat sports ring at any level, even amateur, you know.
It's like any random NBA pro that sits on a bench the whole season can torch the best amateur ballers in the world.
Yea but if you're talking about NBA it makes sense to say that the player sitting on the bench the whole season isn't very good. If he's on the bench he's bad relative to the rest of the team, it's not helpful to compare him to armatures
Like if you're watching a kids soccer game and one player is particularly good, you don't have to be like "he sucks because he's a child but he doesn't suck as much as the other kids." You can just say he's good because the context is obvious
I think it's the "he's just not good lol" comment. He's won two fights in the UFC and is \_probably\_ better at fighting than everyone on this subreddit. He's clearly good at fighting, but not in the UFC.
Aljo is on here but yeah he's obviously better than basically everyone including myself. That doesn't mean you can't also say he isn't objectively just not a good MMA fighter.
If the only comeback is that he's better than the average redditer that doesn't really help your case
> objectively just not a good mma fighter
Dude may have lost more than he’s won in the UFC but he’s still won a couple and that’s more than most pro fighters will ever win in the UFC.
Objectively, he’s a good mma fighter, regardless of whether he’s capable of becoming ranked in the ufc, he’s stayed in for 8 fights.
It's easy to say this and gloss over the fact that he's 22-10 and that it takes another level of competing to win in the UFC. A sack of bricks can admit he's better than an average redditer. Pretty sure he's better than a lot of "pro" fighters too.
Objectively he is a good fighter, the fuck are you on about. He's better than the average *fighter*, the average redditor is barely capable of touching their own toes.
We are talking about his performance/record in the UFC. it's 2-6. Which is not good.
The point you're making just makes it seem like you don't understand context.
Who the fuck is we? "He's 2-6 in the UFC he's just not good lol" did you misinterpret this comment? He's 22-10 in professional fighting, he's a good fighter, what do you not understand about this? It takes fighting on another level to compete in the UFC, the dude has competed 8 times and has won twice. Clearly, fucking clearly, he's the opposite of "he's just not good lol."
He's not bad at MMA is the point genius. And plenty of us train, a few people here are even pro. You just have no idea the levels and how good these guys actually are
Haha, I know. I speak Spanish and can understand a lot of Portuguese hahahaha. Also bits of Italian.
Maybe I should have linked something showing the fact they're so similar.
My only issue is how many eye pokes and fence grabs etc. he misses like almost every single fight. If I was a fighter and got Herb as a ref, I'd be like, oh sweet free eye pokes.
Quick just in time stoppage torres also knew he had frank with those two punches, personally know torres he is from my home town and he is not going to hit the opponent more than he needs to very humble guy some people just like to see fighters get rocked more than they need to.
So what you're saying is it wasn't an early stoppage?
If the fighter was going to take unmitigated damage with no possibility of a better position, was the stoppage actually early?
Good time for a stoppage, terrible stoppage itself.
Herb should retire.
Edit: Y'all are dumb, you cannot stutter step and hesitate as a MMA referee. The basis of your job is not hesitating in that moment. [Herb keeps doing it again,](https://imgur.com/a/oJO4jx2) and [again](https://imgur.com/a/gjf97L8) and [again](https://imgur.com/97Lm1pm)
[yeah it couldn't be herb hesitating](https://imgur.com/a/gjf97L8)
[he never does that](https://imgur.com/a/oJO4jx2)
these both happened within the year...
Every ref hesitates sometimes. That's an asinine statement. Each is an independent event. You're just looking for a reason to complain.
Secondly, the second one he made sure she was dazed and in danger. She was still defending and that wasn't bad stoppage. Once he confirmed she wasn't fully there, he waved it off. First one is literally everyone's go to for him. Bad stoppage. Has nothing to do with this stoppage though.
It still kinda was. He stepped in, then waited a beat before waiving his hands. Why? As the ref, if you step between the fighters, it’s over. That’s what caused the confusion during Ribas/Rodriguez.
> if you step between the fighters
Herb steps toward them when Frank goes down. Herb then assess Frank on the ground, takes a step between the fighters and waves his hands. All of this takes place within 2 seconds. You'd have to be watching in slow motion, know the outcome already and be a redditor to do it better. Herb's made mistakes in the past but this wasn't one of them.
It should've been stopped but Dean did a bad job stopping it. He does a thing where he steps in between the fighters in a way that makes it look like he's calling off the fight without actually calling a stop.
I can’t remember what fight but I remember Mario Yamasaki just casually stepping in between fighters as one guy is getting finished but not actually stopping the fight.
[Garbrandt vs Mendes](https://youtu.be/cjPq5ZMKeWI)
Herb has been struggling with moments like this over the last couple years too; glad he actually stopped it after getting involved this time
Kinda happy Herb stopped it early, Camacho ate several shots leading up to that, Torres landed several clean uppercuts and while Camacho was landing his jab Torres just seemed to land his power more effectively.
God dammit Frank, my heart is broken.
He looked good with the high guard at first, but after he got dinged, he abandoned it and couldn't keep himself from trading. I was begging him to shoot once Torres began pressing forward while throwing bombs.
Second in a two horse race? Check
No head movement? Check
Hesitant to use what was always a barely passable jab? Check
No need to ask who the Redditor is.
Aye he ate a fair amount of shots, but when he dropped he was looking at Torres right afterwards and seemed like he was still all there.
Not the worst stoppage or anything like that, I just feel it could have went a little bit longer to see if he could have tied Torres up if he tried to follow him to the ground.
Frank, I know you'll read these. Enjoyed the fight and hope to see you out there again. Stay positive brother and ignore the bad comments. You've got what it takes.

The narwhal really baconed at midnight for Frank.

Yeah i mean i never have known when the frig the narwhal would have baconed man thanks for letting me know
Facing a mexican block head dont help either
Never box with a Mexican, it’s hazardous for your health

Poor Frank. The commentators talked up his improved defense but honestly all he did was put his hands up. No head movement, no footwork, didn't try to parry or stifle the hands or whatever...I don't know what the improved defense was supposed to be
Its how he always fights and its hard to watch the eventual TKO each time

It's time, to shave your bush
I heard this in BB voice and couldn't stop laughing
Camacho used the undefeated strategy of blocking all of the punches with his face
Camacho has never been the same since he lost to Kaleb Cruz. After that beating he took, he lost his next 3.

Kaleb was nice enough to expunge it from his record.

he's a fellow redditor, be nice :(
He's 2-6 in the UFC he's just not good lol

better than any of us
He’s a professional MMA fighter. We’re not. It’s a lot bigger deal for him to be bad at MMA than it is for us.
I'm just blown away that MMA fans still use the "pro fighter is better than you at fighting" argument as if we didn't know that lmao
I think it's the "he's just not good lol" comment. He's won two fights in the UFC and is \_probably\_ better at fighting than everyone on this subreddit. He's clearly good at fighting, but not in the UFC.

Think Carwin was banned actually, forget why

Yeah comparing a pro fighter to a Redditor doesn't exactly help the pro fighters case

That was a long way to say you're not understanding the context.
Context, my friend. Look into it.
Read the next comment up, dude said he is not good at MMA, didn't specify ufc. Something about context
I don't think anyone who makes it to the ufc in that weight class is "bad at mma"
but he’s also one of us
He's not bad at MMA is the point genius. And plenty of us train, a few people here are even pro. You just have no idea the levels and how good these guys actually are
"in the UFC" vs "just not good" The cognitive dissonance of online losers is hilarious.
CM Punk confirmed good at MMA. Or ya know when people say that it's in the context of comparing to a fighter's peers...
Your lack of understanding of context is also hilarious.
You’re not good.
I’m bad I just watch and comment
One of those wins he missed weight, too. I'm still dirty about that dodgy split decision win he took over Damien Brown in Australia haha.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY2nVQNlUB8
Absolutely beautiful boxing I'm gonna keep my eye out for this guy
Fast, heavy hands, but didn't load up to deliver his power shots. Definitely a guy worth watching.
His Jab was solid
Best translator in the game
man speaks spanish, english, and portugese?? UFC needs to keep him on the books
Portuguese and Spanish are very similar, to be fair.
Why are you getting down voted? They're more than very similar, they're 90% similar.
Haha, I know. I speak Spanish and can understand a lot of Portuguese hahahaha. Also bits of Italian. Maybe I should have linked something showing the fact they're so similar.
Ryan "The Translator" Haywood
Frank lasted way longer than I expected He was eating bombs all round fuckin hell
One of the first times I have ever seen Herb Dean step in early and thank God he did
he was about to hesitate, but seems like he has gotten better at that. If you step up between the fighters, just end it. Good call by him
He has tightened up the Herb Dean shuffle, good to see him continuing to work on his game.
Herb has been on a solid run.
Very true I can’t think of any controversy’s this year for him honesty.
My only issue is how many eye pokes and fence grabs etc. he misses like almost every single fight. If I was a fighter and got Herb as a ref, I'd be like, oh sweet free eye pokes.
It was a quick stoppage, but honestly it wasn’t going to get any better from there.
I don’t have a problem with it, but when a fighter is sort of kind of trying to position himself to play defense on the mat, they usually let it go.
Love the stoppage here. Too often refs let a fighter take unnecessary shots in this kind of position.
You're still my boy Frank, thank you for another banger. Win or lose always a must watch fighter
I will never not root for Frank.
Me either but he needs to quit

You’re supposed to SEE red not turn red. Jesus this is why redditors have zero UFC champions smh 🤦🏻♂️
we got aljo atleast
Aljo representing
Wait he’s on Reddit? My mannnnn
Sad
Typical redditor
very nice pull back counter
Camacho fought his heart out but Torres was more accurate, and picked those necessary shots. Wishing both men best of luck!
F
Good stoppage, he was absorbing way too many shots there towards the end.
Good time for a stoppage, terrible stoppage itself. Herb should retire. Edit: Y'all are dumb, you cannot stutter step and hesitate as a MMA referee. Forget these ratfucks I agree with yah.
Bad time for a comment, terrible comment itself. You should retire.
No. It was a good stoppage.
runs in, stops, stutter steps 6 times towards torres then decides to call it off. great stoppage.
Literally made sure he was dazed and defenseless. Made sure he didn't take any damage. Yes. Great stoppage. You're complaining to just complain.
[yeah it couldn't be herb hesitating](https://imgur.com/a/gjf97L8) [he never does that](https://imgur.com/a/oJO4jx2) these both happened within the year...

[How about this one](https://imgur.com/97Lm1pm) Pretty easy to find Herb doing this. I can't find a single one of Herzog.
You mean the guy who let Anthony Smith almost die?
Don't even get me started on Herb's late stoppages amigo. You said every ref hesitates. They don't.
Ok true but the timing wasn’t bad this time lol
I literally said "good time for a stoppage, terrible stoppage itself"
I know, I ain’t mad at ya
What does that even mean
that it was the right time to stop the fight but herb needs to not hesitating and stutter stepping towards fighters
Honestly it didn’t matter because it was half a second, but I see your point and I really hope that Herb change something or leave
Camacho was getting sent to the shadow realm, Torres was never gonna stop
That was almost a classic Herb stoppage
Herb runs in like he is gonna finish the guy hahaha
It still kinda was. He stepped in, then waited a beat before waiving his hands. Why? As the ref, if you step between the fighters, it’s over. That’s what caused the confusion during Ribas/Rodriguez.

Why was Hadley vs. Nascimento never posted lol?
Good effort frank u ain’t go out like no hoe! Kept moving forward till he got caught good thing there wasn’t no follow ups
Sorta weird stoppage, but I dont disagree with the decision
Don’t think he’d have stepped in had Camacho not already been pretty wobbly, I agree it was fair enough
That wasn’t exactly *not* early
It was a good stoppage
I just wish herb wouldn't half heartedly step in. Stop it or don't.
It should've been stopped but Dean did a bad job stopping it. He does a thing where he steps in between the fighters in a way that makes it look like he's calling off the fight without actually calling a stop.

[Garbrandt vs Mendes](https://youtu.be/cjPq5ZMKeWI) Herb has been struggling with moments like this over the last couple years too; glad he actually stopped it after getting involved this time
Mario just wanted a better angle before the finish.
Was that the one with Cody Garbrant? Cody drops the guy and Mario just walks between them, then let's Cody finish him with gnp
It was definitely ambiguous enough to not be glaringly bad, hence my wording, I just think Camacho has a case for being upset with it
Dude was getting the shit beat out of him and then got knocked down badly. It was over not even on the line. He was done.
Fair enough
Not sure he’d have been “happier” with the follow up punches that would have undoubtedly put him to sleep.
Herb "Hoover" Dean
Torres is my new fav fighter. Viva Mexico 🇲🇽
Knew the soy would be his downfall
Torres with the beautiful boxing combos and mexican granite chin
no hate on frank tho he’s still my boy
Really good stoppage that I'm sure will upset casual fans wanting to "let them bleed." He was getting caught too cleanly for an unranked fight.
Exactly, live to fight another day, we didn’t need to see him get slept
That was a bar fight.
El locoo, what a performance!
My new fav, Viva Mexico 🇲🇽
I demand Torres vs Joel Alvarez next
Surprised you weirdos aren't tagging his account here like you do Lauzon whenever he's brought up
I trained jiu jitsu with this guy in Tijuana, glad to see him get a sick KO for his debut
Damn. Way Frank was fighting he was practically begging to get KOd. It just looked inevitable halfway through the fight.
Our boy jus got massacred
That was some matrix sh*t..amazing how he knew just to step back to avoid the end of that punch and unload a nice 1-2.
because of this fight r/mma is removing the downvote button
😭😭😭
Camacho, sorry… but you don’t belong anymore. Try out bellator ?
Kinda happy Herb stopped it early, Camacho ate several shots leading up to that, Torres landed several clean uppercuts and while Camacho was landing his jab Torres just seemed to land his power more effectively.
Dropped and pulled guard, but dude was eating shots the last 4 minutes so god knows how much more unnecessary damage he would have taken. Goon on herb
Just bad defense and not enough offensive skill to make up for it.
God dammit Frank, my heart is broken. He looked good with the high guard at first, but after he got dinged, he abandoned it and couldn't keep himself from trading. I was begging him to shoot once Torres began pressing forward while throwing bombs.
Second in a two horse race? Check No head movement? Check Hesitant to use what was always a barely passable jab? Check No need to ask who the Redditor is.
Felt a little early for me.
Nah man, one of Herb’s best stoppages this year, Frank ate way too many clean shots, Frank didn’t seem to complain either.
He gave herb the little “ehh, not bad, not good” hand wiggle as he got up, from a fighter that’s as close as he’ll get to admitting he was done
Aye he ate a fair amount of shots, but when he dropped he was looking at Torres right afterwards and seemed like he was still all there. Not the worst stoppage or anything like that, I just feel it could have went a little bit longer to see if he could have tied Torres up if he tried to follow him to the ground.
Frank Camacho u got KTFO
Punching underwater
El Loco is a fucking beast, holly smokes.
The Tank got his ass handed to him.
This Manuel guy has a fan in me... Such a simple soul. Made me smile just listening to him and you could feel his eyes hly shit
Not a lot of defense in this fight
Anybody ready for the next fight, the bangerest banger?
Good win for Torres but he opened and finished every combo with looping hooks and his chin in the air.
Awesome fight. Both were down to stand and trade
I’m headed to ufc subreddit from now on :(
Frank, I know you'll read these. Enjoyed the fight and hope to see you out there again. Stay positive brother and ignore the bad comments. You've got what it takes.
😔
geez. Every time I happen to see a Camacho fight, he gets knocked the fuxk out.
Good stoppage by Herb.
Slick combo.
He's still our boy.
Frank’s chin is gone.
Ez call
Torres' hands were like bricks connecting everytime he hit Camacho
Damnit
Frank is horrible
Why is this trash can still in the ufc? He's a punching bag and nothing more.
