You could argue this goal is truly evil, as it officially prevented the NYC/RBNY playoff game in Hartford/Coney Island/Queens/Wherever
Couldn't we still meet them in a conference final?
Yes but presumably another venue will be available by then, but you never know.
It's getting ridiculous
Y'all had so much zebra assistance too...
Absolutely love the CLTFC commentators
"Level at the bank with time in the bank" is a great line.
Lloyd Sam is one of the best in the league. He's destined for a long career.
It was a pleasure to watch the game. They had a nice mix of commentary and pure joy/excitement for the game. I don't like many crews but I enjoyed the broadcast.
I dunno. Him yelling "Let's gooo" like an esport commentator definitely gave me a chuckle.
I'd rather have that then a commentator that has no passion for the team at all. The guy's a real fan of the team and said what we were all thinking in that moment.
Or lifting “do you believe in miracles” from one of the actual greatest sports moments of all time…
We’d be hosting a home game if we could close out games whatsoever
I laugh because I can’t feel pain anymore.
Trading Shiny was another failure on Padraig this season.
eh, would you have gotten Zardes if he was still on the roster?
That said, $400k seems low for a guy like him
No guarantee we are keeping Zardes. Hes gonna cost a lot of money. Andre was always productive when he got time at center forward, but he played so much on the wing for us. And thats on Robin.
Watching the reaction of all the Columbus players is kinda hilarious
They look surprised as if this wasn’t the most obvious ending ever
A collective look as to how to waste more time?
If our 1st season effect is Columbus not making playoffs, I’m good with it
Not yet, we need a tie next weekend, and we all know how the Columbus Crew has a thing for ties
And I’m good with Columbus eliminating Charlotte’s chance at playoffs their first year 🥳
That’s quite a low bar to set
and Philly not winning the Shield
As much as I hate eagles fans, the philly fans didn’t bother me. May cheer for them in the playoffs
Make the C lowercase, like this: cLOLumbus. It looks better. A for effort though.
Columbus in the first 75': Real shit
Columbus in the last 15': I sleep
This goal made me so happy.
Sorry we couldn't get a penalty to improve your joy
Hey, Caleb. Sshhhh 🤫
I wish we got an angle at the start, Shinyashiki *might* have been offside, and I don't think the play resets at any point. I assume VAR didn't see anything wrong and that they looked, but I would have liked to see it again.
They showed a better angle during the post game highlights and he was kept inside by someone in the middle of the field
I did not watch any postgame for reasons.
I only kept watching because I had had the same thought that it might have been haha
That would be Milos Degenek who then proceeded to camp in front of the net next to no one and defended nothing.
Lol, that's a lot of celebrating for a goal that buys you a minute and a half left in your season
And I am properly checked out!
I think it was more excitement for the team showing us, the fans, that they’re still here and not giving up after a 2-0 start.
The MLS kinda crippled us with the rules of this game.
It was the continuation of a suspension mid match for a game that arguably shouldnt have started in the first place. Since it was suspended mid-match we had to start with the lineup and the players on field that we had when it was stopped. That was months ago and the team just recently started figuring out what teammates play well together and who our real stars are. Any swaps would have counted as subs.
Am I reading correct that the first match was suspended at 16'? I'm fascinated that they went to such lengths to not just replay 16 scoreless minutes. Feels like it's what the fans deserved.
Yup. I understand the perspective from the MLS - they'd need the same rules for every match and it someone had already scored that would be only fair. But for this season being what it is for Charlotte, it definitely hurt us.
We scored our two goals in the second half after Lattanzio swapped in some of our more recent star players. And o course, Dani Rios made our first goal almost immediately. Lattanzio was in an impossible situation.
But, it is what it is. We'll show everyone next year. Our fan turnout has been incredible even when we're down. It definitely seems like that energy plays out on the field.
Oh damn, that's pretty crazy. What would have happened if one of those players was injured or suspended?
Our goalie was injured a few weeks ago, but was cleared for play just before this match. The MLS was going to let us swap him but it would have given Columbus an extra substitution.
He was injured Saturday haha, not even a few weeks ago.
We had sold a couple players since then, we could replace them with a bench player but that's it
Our defensive anchor : Guzman Corujo is out for the season and we had to replace him from the bench for that night. And that resulted in really porous defense
Corujo I think was one of our best players this year IMO. I hope he comes back next year.
That's a hilarious comment from a DCU fan
Is it though? I’m not celebrating anything
How did we choke against these guys man jesus
You pulled off an incredible feat finding a way to choke against the ultimate chokers.
Tbf we’re right behind them in that category too 😭
They’ll go down but they’ll go down in fashion
