I do have Nightmare Eyes after the game last night. Cool tifo from Portland.

DeutschPi

As a Night in the Woods fan, I'm actually somewhat upset that Mae's been claimed as a Timbers fan. How *dare* y'all. :P But seriously, I'm actually interested in why she was chosen. Anybody from TA know? It's legit a great display. Loving the radical Cascadian Pride tifos.

TCzelusniak

Still a chance to get a[ cups on my ears](https://www.shitpostbot.com/resize/585/400?img=%2Fimg%2Fsourceimages%2Fcups-on-my-ears-58bc897f1fff7.jpeg) tifo, though.

ThisDerpForSale

I had nothing to do with this tifo at all, and I know nothing at all about Mae or Night in the Woods, but from my quick googling, apparently she is canonically pansexual? Sorry, that's all I got.

DeutschPi

That *is* true, but there's also a lot of pansexual characters out there, so I'm just curious why her specifically. In the game, she *is* also prone to violence and is pretty firmly radically left, so perhaps that's why.

my_son_is_a_box

NITW has a pretty big queer fandom, and has a lot of anti-cop sentiment. That seems pretty Portland

gopac56

Crazy Portlanders don't like cops declaring war on them smh

ThisDerpForSale

Yeah, sorry, like I said, that's all I got.

SonOfMechaMummy

ECS needs to respond with a tifo claiming Bea before it's too late!

MolemanusRex

I call Gregg for DCU!

MolemanusRex

Siri is there a USL team in Pittsburgh

LocksTheFox

yeah

MolemanusRex

cool

LocksTheFox

Yeah as someone who is living this bullshit as a sapphic trans woman who has been around sports my whole life, I'm glad that Cascadia seems to get the moment

my_son_is_a_box

I have it on pretty good authority that this tifo was designed by a trans woman. Cascadia gets it.

Trinityliger

I met Amy, the designer, yesterday before heading to the match. Can confirm!

DeutschPi

Amy did great! We gotta do a Gregg or Bea one as a response now though. :P

Trinityliger

That’d give me a great reason to make the short trip north for the next derby!

LocksTheFox

Honestly seems right

ReallyHender

You can’t make it out from the picture, but the text on the 2-sticks is a list of all the anti-trans bills that have passed *this year*.

musicobsession

I don't wanna upvote this info :(

LocksTheFox

imagine living that shit hahahah haha ha how the fuck am i sober

Disk_Mixerud

"Sorry to politicize your entire existence, but we needed to keep the working class divided on *something* or they might have realized they were on the same side."

greenslime300

I feel like the problem of looking at this way is that it makes it seem like trans people (and of all of us who support them) have the option of meeting halfway with the people who deny their existence. There is no room for compromise because of how fundamental the difference is. It's not simply a measure to divide the working class, it's a measure to deny deviation from the culture the religious conservatives want. If you can't be an ally to trans people, you can't be an ally to working class at large. Don't mean to get on my soapbox but I think this matters.

Disk_Mixerud

I'm pretty convinced that a lot of the people fueling the right-wing hate toward vulnerable groups don't actually care about those issues and just want to keep conservatives angry and liberals too busy defending basic human rights to even get started on class issues. I'm saying there *would* be a lot of common ground, if working class conservatives weren't letting themselves get rilled up against every boogeyman their media tells them to hate. Not so much that there's a "middle ground" as there's a common enemy. And they want to make sure the cultural conversations stay as far away from that topic as possible. It's hard for liberals to say, "We're both getting ripped off by the same few assholes", when they're busy saying, "Stop attacking trans people!"

greenslime300

I think it depends what we mean by fueling. I really think the church officials, media personalities, political figures, etc. all genuinely believe this stuff. As for the corporate backers who fund them, it's harder to say for certain, but honestly it wouldn't shock me to find them *more* zealously conservative than they let on. Having ludicrous amounts of wealth and influence tends to mean a lack of empathy as well. I'm sure they are also influenced by the very same church officials and media personalities that they fund in a symbiotic way.

Disk_Mixerud

It's possible I'm attributing a little too much rationality to them, yeah. I always pictured them as trying to hold on to/increase their wealth and power by any means necessary, but it is possible a lot of them are just idiots with a ton of money.

greenslime300

I think the ultra rich contain both and generally the intelligent ones do whatever they can to keep things stable and maintain the status quo. But you also have people who feel that wealth and influence doesn't mean much unless you use it, and I think for that subset of conservatives among the ultra rich, being able to shape their country to their beliefs is a compulsion that they can't resist.

emaw63

Isn’t that the fucking truth :(

Nerdlinger

Rhyming "wrath" with "axe"? I'll allow it.

KatnissBot

Damn. Portland fans are pretty great.

TheGhostyBear

Be Gay, Do Crime. Gregg Rulez.

BenjRSmith

hey now, that's the kind of rebellious talk that gets tea thrown in rivers.

0172thetimeguy

Night in the Woods is such a fantastic game. I love to see it referenced in a tifo!

Mihairokov

Mae threw the first brick at Stonewall

Eggman7698

based Portland???

my_son_is_a_box

Always has been.....

BenjRSmith

I can appreciate how MLS is a league full of Romas with no Lazios. How do you maintain that?

LocksTheFox

Closest thing you really have is NYC who's had issues with far-right fans before

Osiris32

By keeping all the right wingers on the other side of the mountains.

gopac56

Outstanding Portland.

rebeltoconform

To borrow a phrase from the Northern Guard: It has never been just about sports

CreeperDude17

What’s the banner in front of the tunnel say?

ReallyHender

“Being yourself is never the wrong thing to do”

rebeltoconform

Being yourself is never the wrong thing to do

CreeperDude17

Class

rebeltoconform

They had it up last week against Colorado as well

aahqwert

“Being yourself is never the wrong thing [to do/be]?

MasterCombine

Extremely based.

Jakemoe

A deep cut, but a good tifo

N0tmyrealfakeaccount

I absolutely love these Tifos. Hoping the Crew can do something like this in the future!

cancercures

The Tifo is not an apple that falls when ripe. You have to make it fall.

NoodleinTexas

That’s class

DifficultyTrue8087

Such a cool looking stadium

Rebzy

Pete the Cat?

musicobsession

It's Mae from Night in the Woods

Rebzy

Never heard of it, I’ll have to check it out! Been looking for a new game to play solo.

Roberto_Sacamano

That's fucking sick 🤙🏾

JulianBoldExtended

Hell yeah 🤘🏽

Milestailsprowe

Nights into the woods is a game that flopped on it's ending that it's bad imo. Blue balled me sooo bad with garbage.
