Glad he'll get a wider audience, it'll be a blast!

SounderBruce

Those fishing boats won't pay for themselves

RyVsWorld

I just wanna score goals and go fishin

PizzaFlavoredAsshole

> Fox also says it will put its World Cup game broadcast archive on its free streaming platform Tubi, which could end up meaning you won’t need a cable subscription to watch replays of FS1 games online after the fact. Hey that's pretty neat

Chicago1871

Finally found a way to show commercials during games. Usa! Usa! Usa!

FalafelBall

Today I learned something called "Tubi" exists

RCTID1975

No one even wants to watch games live on FS1. Who's going to watch replays days later?

onceinalifenevermore

Tubi rules

lordcorbran

He'd better bring the camo sport coat and sunglasses.

Squat_____6

Great news

grantland420

Who would've thought this was his next career. Happy for Deuce, and really enjoy the broadcasts with Gooch

lordcorbran

I always thought he'd be good at it, I just didn't expect him to want to do it. I wouldn't have been surprised if we just never saw him in public again after he retired from playing and he just went off to be with his family and go fishing all day.

grantland420

Yeah. He wasn't really a spotlight guy when he played

plan_x64

Personally I just hope someone runs behind the desk and falls from the scalfolding like last time.

Sneaky_Ben

God that was such a good moment

Do__Math__Not__Meth

That whole game was just a movie

tryagainyesterday

Please

darknavi

Rap battle confirmed.

scallywaggs

Nice

insultant_

Aaaawwwwwww yyyyyeeeeaaaaaa

AaronQ94

FOX with that big dub

ohverygood

If he doesn't like the producing, he tears up the cue cards

playoffasprilla

Downvote me all you want, Dempsey has been TERRIBLE on all the paramount coverage.

Isiddiqui

Ok, I will

endthiscrisis

I love the paramount coverage. The team has a lot of fun.

playoffasprilla

I find the whole paramount crew to be super cringe. They give better analysis of each other’s outfits than they do the game.

iced1777

They give off very heavy "bro club" vibes, so if you want to feel like you're tossing back beers with your friends pre-game then I'm sure they're great. It doesn't do much for me personally either.

Newmanator29

I’m definitely going to assume I’m this opinion has nothing to do with bias and/or saltiness /s

handi503

I just need you to remember that you specifically asked for the downvotes. Now that that's out of the way: 🎶Oh playoffaspriiiilla! I DISAGREE!

pants6789

He can be generic with "try harder" and "put away your chances" analysis

Elduderino18

Yeah. Dempsey is my favorite all time USMNT player. I own 3 kits with his name. He's awful on camera.

bigkoi

Found the Donovan fan.

playoffasprilla

I love everyone that wears the USMNT jersey but I don’t think that automatically means they should be a commentator.

MoistNutSocks

L take

JuanGoofy99

They need to bring in Gooch and Davies too. They are great together. I don't want Dempsey to be paired up with Lalas or Green or any of those boring guys

pants6789

>(He joked during Fox’s upfront presentation to advertisers that he wants in on coverage of the 2023 women’s World Cup too. We’ll see about that.) I can see potential conflict on the halftime show when rich white male tells women what they should be doing.

HamFighter69

>I can see potential conflict on the halftime show when rich white male tells women what they should be doing. Ah yes, the bastion of multiculturalism that is the WNT should be protected at all costs.

iced1777

Do you actually believe that white men commenting on women's soccer is some form of bigotry or oppression? Or was this a joke gone awry?

pants6789

So I understand your POV before going on, what do you make of the first five words of my comment?

pants6789

Looks like I'm not getting response to that last one so... Sports are emotional for many, so I have trouble believing the opposite of my comment. The opposite being that the tournament would end and at no point would a female commentator respond to Clint with a retort referencing "mansplaining." Seems futile but I'll ask anyway: my comment wasn't a joke (I don't see how it could be interpreted as such) but what about any of it has gone awry?

iced1777

I thought that was your own personal opinion, sounds more like you're concerned about the uproar of others. My guess as to why people are disagreeing with you is that any such commotion would likely be limited to a small number of loud, angry social media users that can and should be left to scream into the void. I don't think you're going to have a professional broadcast team bickering over "mansplaining" on air just because Clint is a white dude.

pants6789

I must be doing a shit job expressing myself, so apologies up front. I'm making a prediction about momentary behavior of someone other than me, translating that to "concerned about the uproar of others" seems inaccurate/hyperbolic. Bickering, to me, is a long back and forth. My prediction is at some point during a month long (right?) tournament someone would express opposition to him due to one or all of those three things (rich white male). Just seems a safe bet. As for professional, if I'm right, this would not be a particularly unusual tangent.

MazerTag

I don't think Clint is white. He's also had a long soccer career, so the complaints about mansplaining the game to women will only almost lose him his job.

pants6789

I'm not following your second sentence.

MazerTag

Just imagine whatever hurts the whiny downvote babies' feefees the most. They like that Twitter outrage ruins people's lives.
