Got a week long ban from r/soccer for posting a comment in the daily thread that wasn't about football. I said I didn't know I couldn't do that, deleted the comment and asked them to unban me. They threatened to ban me permanently in a badly written cringe threat and muted me for a week Reddit mods going on a power trip over the pettiest things is so sad to witness

yosemite_marx

Mom theyre arguing trippier or trent on Twitter i want to come home

asso19

Wagwam for ox?

Whoiserik

Weird situation: I have tickets for the Leeds game. It was originally scheduled for October 30th but was then moved to the 29th after the Champions League draw. But now, on the official Liverpool website fixtures list, it says it's on the 28th but its TBC (to be confirmed?). It's the only fixture they have all year that doesn't seem to have an actual confirmed date. I'm traveling into Liverpool for this game, does anyone have any insight? When will they announce when this fixture is actually taking place? Is there a chance it's postponed?

stevieG08Liv

surprising that Nike didn't give Canada a new kit. CA should be a big market in NA and considering CA has been quite shit for several years but they have finally made it to the WC with a decent squad, they have all the story telling to market for

TheNotoriousJN

🥇| Naby Keita wants "guarantees" to sign a new deal at Liverpool and his situation remains open. Borussia Dortmund are one of three to four sides keen on the midfielder. [@FabrizioRomano via @caughtoffside] Fucking. Lol. I beg we get this waste out of our club. Klopp has a blindspot when it comes to him.

GeorgeLFC1234

Let’s get rid of him as part of a deal for Bellingham then. Surely it’s the perfect situation

iNS0MNiA_uK

He wants his own bed in the medical bay. With gold engravings and everything. These rumours are so laughable they must be fake, there's no way he can be that out of touch with reality.

Teb-41

You can't make this up

mrkingkoala

Dortmund keen? Hmmmm they can have him plus some cash with another midfielder coming our way from them.

SuperHyperFunTime

Why would they pay anything when they can sign him in January for free to join in the summer?

No-Economist3226

For the same reason we got him a year earlier and people routinely suggest we pay more than someone's release fee to get them a year early- less competition.

WH6TSINANAME

Denmark new kits for WC intriguing.

Yakust07

They have morals which is rare

vadapaav

Liverpool from England and Uruguay are both in 8th position Fucks sake

cornertakenquickly19

There are 2 traditional big team derbies this week, isn't that unusual? From a result standpoint I think it would be better for us if both games end in a draw.

WH6TSINANAME

Very common. Nah, utd win would be better for us, they are the weaker team. North london derby tougher to call, especially with us playing arsenal soon. You could be right on the draw there

deanlfc95

Nah, they tend to arrange them around the same weekend, it happens a fair bit.

AsianMidas

I think Alison’s the prettiest boy weve ever had.

JonathanFisk86

Certainly up there. Xabi Alonso cleaned up nice as well

GameOfThrowInsMate

Jamie Redknapp

weaponizeddonut

Jay Spearing beg to differ

Jaja6996

Long haired Torres for me

royle12

Is there any popular sports website that is doing a bracket challenge for the World Cup? Something similar to what Yahoo and ESPN do for March Madness.

Hawk947

Do we have a timeline and list of our injured players? As far as I know, these are still injured. Kelaher, Robbo, Keita, Jones, Ox, Ramsay. I see Konate has been approved to train.

barryboi6969

Kelleher and Jones early October, Ramsay later Robbo unknown but probably similar to Ramsay Keita and Ox around November

Spec1alistInFailure

Let’s make one thing absolutely clear. The idea that Southgate won’t call up or play Trent because of his defending is absolutely nonsense. One of the absolutely nailed on starters for England, Maguire, is also England’s worst defender by a significant margin.

AeronReformed

Trent should wear Southgate not including him in the squad as a badge of honor. Some championship manager with relegation on his resume doesn't rate me. Who cares?

Swiftofeye

Southgates got history for contradiction on why he's dropping Trent. He's a limited manager with even more limited ideas.

20182717

Just sang One Kiss after getting 100% in a statics and dynamics quiz. It is my first time getting a perfect score in an inviligated assessment since I started university. Since LFC adapted the song, I sang it after a personal accomplishment, and I obviously did it today

VerticalWaste

Congratssss

aghashayan

Darwin has a great header and Trent needs to prove himself yet again, I wish we just have some simple good ole wingback cross and striker header planned when those two play.

NGog_Fan

Trent doesn't need to prove shit lmao. a few games of poor form doesn't outdo 3/4 years of being the best in the world

DrAgOnLoLDoTA

more like a poor attitude right now. He is lazy af

kingdomkey13

With games every 3 days in October how do you think Trent will fair? Will Gomez make some appearances as RB? Don’t think it’s feasible for him to play every single one of those games for 90

Youhadmeatbamboozle

I think we will rotate quite heavily but also hit our stride.

AsianMidas

Any training sessions before Saturday?

sonaldofds

As it stands, from our first 11 we will have Trent, robbo Joel, Thiago mo and Diaz who will probably not go to the wc. I don’t mind that tbh. We will be well rested at the turn of the year. Hope we are up and around city. We can turn this around

NGog_Fan

Trent will probably go to the wc even if he doesn't play

aghashayan

Thiago is the one we rely the most on and have no back up for. It's nice to get him rest.

dolphintitties

here's hoping. had a look at city's lineup against wolves and literally everyone barring haaland from the starting 11 will be there (and likely starting). then on the bench only mahrez hasn't qualified. obviously it's likely a couple of them will only play 3 games but they still have to travel and be a part of the camps.

Scousetrout

Aside from your home nation which team would you like (or wouldn’t mind) winning the WC this year?

Emanreddit29

Argentina. Gotta solidify the goat debate If not the nerthelands, why not

Cactiareouroverlords

I’d love an underdog to win it tbh Wales Japan Canada etc

WH6TSINANAME

But realistically?

Cactiareouroverlords

It likely won’t happen, I’d love if it did but I’m not holding my breath

cavejohnsonlemons

Canada for scenes. Or Qatar, love me some chaos. If we're going favourites only tho then Argentina, like the way they play and they're on a mental unbeaten run rn. So them getting ko'd on pens is fine too.

ss2195

Netherlands or Argentina for me, for Virgil and Messi.

nukhraa

Portugal

glycerethe

Do you like Jota a lot? Like more than everyone(bar the British lads) in the squad?

hellarad

Unless you are Portuguese, watching Ronaldo win things is unbearable.

glycerethe

Imagine watching Bruno Fernandes becoming a WC winner, just the thought of it makes me puke.

hellarad

Another good reason. I think I would hate Bruno more if he had a good record against us, but he has been part of a good few drubbings.

nukhraa

Watching jota win would make it worth it

hellarad

He is still young, Portugal can win 2026 when Ronaldo is retired.

malushanks95

Netherlands for Virgil 🧡

Due-Sherbert3097

Uruguay and Darwin gets top goalscorer

8u11etpr00f

Qatar, I'd love to sit back and watch the chaos ensue.

ss2195

Okay, that's a good one.

Scousetrout

The scenes if they get a few controversial calls along the way as well…

WH6TSINANAME

If? There's no other way of them getting there.

TheToadstools

Argentina - Messi deserves a World Cup

earlgreytoday

Argentina should have won in 2014, but for both Higuain and Palacio missing sitters.

Scousetrout

Argentina was my pick too

PEEWUN

The scenes if Denmark won after what happened in the Euros...

xKat14

[Denmark for this reason too](https://www.instagram.com/p/CjDEvi3KxVm/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)

GameOfThrowInsMate

Superb

Geass_Knightmare

Damn this is awesome.

PEEWUN

That is class.

Jaja6996

None of the big team Id just love for something like Greece winning the euros to happen at the World Cup

Scousetrout

Ghana to be the first African team to win then 🤞

Emanreddit29

MY GUYYYYY

dillipkr6999

For me Netherlands it would seal van Dijk's legacy the best CB world as ever seen for now.

8u11etpr00f

If that's decided based on trophies then I'm sorry but Ramos might edge that one lmao

dillipkr6999

Dude got millions of yellow and red cards certain things he done on pitch can't be put aside aswell.

8u11etpr00f

I dunno, the consensus for "best CB the world has ever seen" would put Ramos far above VVD. Just look at Ramos on paper; like 15 years of performing at the top level, won the UCL 4 times, won La Liga however many times, won the Euros twice, won the WC, Real Madrid captain, Spain captain, 4th most apps for a Real Madrid player, most Spain caps (180), over 100 goals for Real Madrid from CB, 23 goals for Spain from CB. Van Dijk peaked higher but at the end of the day Ramos is the one who's gonna go down in the history books. For everyone outside of our fanbase it'd be a complete no-contest regardless of the guy being a dickhead.

[deleted]

Mongolia, just for a laugh

Yakust07

Portugal or Argentina it would be nice to see the Best players of our generation win the highest honour in football

5er0

Agree, a player like Messi who arguably is the most gifted baller we've ever seen should win a WC in my opinion. He needs to play like a player possessed this Winter.

Loemz

Germany, Netherlands, Uruguay, Japan and Senegal

whoaaa_O

"My over all game is better than Ryan Gosling." - Southgate

aghashayan

already like 8 9 points behind top 3, and we're also below united and chelsea. The situation so far has been very bad. we have to get 3 points asap.

ss2195

Yes, and we're also 6-8 games into the season. Calm down.

aghashayan

So you mean we don't need to win games asap? Nice to know!

srilfc1971

Can I remind you of Christmas 2021 sir

TheNotoriousJN

I genuinely cant fathom the audacity that it takes to tell Trent to his face that Kieran Trippier is a better player than him But also at this point i dont see why Trent doesnt just refuse to go. When his manager has no respect for him or his ability

Supkingz123

When has TAA made a mistake in the England team? The system we play at Liverpool is impossible for any defender high line and a back 4. This is very different to the England set up. You put any England RB in TAA shoes and they could never do the role he does at LFC without making mistakes. He is said to be the deep lining player maker. Klopp knows this strength and then partners him with a Good CB who can cover the channels. Hendo was his cover, Klopp removed it making it a fully exposed role. None of this issue will come for England. The issue with England is nobody gave him the ball enough.

redbadger1848

He has his brand to think about. It's easier to sit in silence as England inevitably fall on their face and Southgate gets the sack, then for him to leave, "disrupt the team chemistry" and be the national whipping boy when England inevitably falls on their face.

NilsFanck

Just took Salah out of my FPL to ensure hes getting a hattrick on Saturday.

taf3991

I didn't have him in all last season I always think if I don't have him in he will score, this year I started with him. Took him out as well now though so hopefully he's top scorer come Saturday afternoon lol

NilsFanck

Im in the absolute mud this year in FPL. Kinda have to go for some weird moves now to make up ground

taf3991

I'm not doing great but not the worst either. I went top heavy Haaland, Jesus, Kane from the beginning and I think it'll stay that way all year tbh. The main thing I've done is take out Salah and Trent, it's gave me so much money to play with and it's actually mad that Trent is the same amount as some top forwards that come in to the midfield category haha.

NilsFanck

pretty similar setup here. Got Haaland Kane Toney up front. Maybe in the mud was an exaggeration as Im still doing ok in the private league with my friends but Im placed at like 2m among all players and did much better than that last year. Im keeping Trent and Lucho though. Call it delusion but I have faith Trents turning his season around and Diaz has been good but will be great as soon as the team overall starts clicking again

taf3991

Yeh I'm like 1.1mil overall but like 20th out of 65 in our private league for £1300. I have faith Trent will come good 100% but I just think the money is better spent in midfield. For example If I had 12m to spend I'd rather go Kyle Walker and Rashford rather than Trent and someone for like 4.5. You get the clean shit bonus with Walker more often than not and Rashford plays as a striker but is down as a midfielder, I've had him in from the beginning thought he was a good punt at like 6m. Although I'd much rather him be doing shite haha

mundanemonday

Appreciated

BmarTSig

Visiting London this weekend and was hoping to catch the game somewhere. Is it correct though that no 3pm matches are televised in the UK? So I'm assuming there's no pub or other place to watch in London? Any advice?

liverpewl

Never heard of the 3pm thing, what's that about?

taf3991

No UK broadcaster can legally show any 3pm Saturday kick off. I think originally it was to keep people going to games, I think they thought if people could watch it on TV they wouldn't go the games. Probably a bit of an outdated thing now, maybe would be an issue with lower league clubs tho I don't know really.

sankers23

Best youre going to get is streaming it

brush85

You will find a game easily in London...not Prem but you'll find a game

Cheers_JeffwithaG

A while back someone here suggested that maybe Klopp’s masterplan is to actually play 4-2-4. Which is why we’re pretty lax in terms of recruiting midfielders. The thought of it is pretty funny to me but I’d 100% be behind it for the entertainment.

SirSwix

Based on the recruitment we should be playing like Ac Milan did in the 50s. 3-2-5. Robertson vvd Trent fab Thiago Diaz jota Nunez firmino Salah. Now that would be something

R3dbeardLFC

Not to be too nitpicky, but that's just a 3232 or 352, no one would ever call that a 325

petethepool

He has played it this season already - he played it I think last season against City too. It’s more like his current break glass option than a likely long term formation I’d imagine, but he is definitely looking to freshen things up

brush85

16/17 era but with better defending...hopefully

cavejohnsonlemons

Dunno if it's been mentioned yet but Liverpool in the final 2 to host Eurovision next year (other one's Glasgow). Contest date not confirmed but it's usually one of the mid-May weekends so could 'clash' with our last home game of the season (Villa), and maybe a Euro semi. And by 'clash' I've got no idea how much police & stuff they need to put it on, bigger event than a regular concert smaller than a World Cup / Royal Funeral...

malushanks95

We are back playing again this weekend, this season doesn’t feel real, feels like we had a mini summer break without the transfer window.

taf3991

It's been shite so far hasn't it, a 1 month PL break less than 1 month into the season and then in 6 weeks there is another 6 week break haha. Not to mention how poor we've been as well, Also our fixture times have been shite, every game has either been Sat early kick off, monday night (we have poor records in both them times) or saturday 3pm and not televised haha. Feel like every other season we play pretty much every week on a sunday or saturday evening, not played either of them yet haha

malushanks95

Also, such a weird way the games have been spread out this season, 9 games in October, 4 in November, 2 in December. After World Cup, we might play every mid week if we make it far in competitions, it’s literally madness.

taf3991

Shit show init, shows how much corruption must of been involved to ok a world cup in November/December and change every top divisions fixtures in Europe at least to schedule it in haha

CJVCarr

Didn't have a transfer window but timeline was still overloaded with transfer (read Bellingham) rumours smh.

LateRegistrxtion

High ceiling, raw minerals, got all the tools, long term project. Is Darwin Núñez a football player or a construction job?

SirSwix

Should be ready to the opening of the new Anfield road stand

brush85

Yes

ahktarniamut

Anfield Extension coming quickly!

Zeewolf93

Seeing rumours of potentially bringing Bellingham in January with Keita going the opposite way + cash. Dortmund rumoured to be after Keita but are willing to make deal in Jan to prevent a battle for his signature when he becomes a free agent. Any truth to this?

SirSwix

Ha not gonna happen, he got a contract to 2025 Dortmund are in no rush to sell him they can just wait till next summer and get that sweet €150 mil from Man city

barryboi6969

The only way I'd ever see dortmund benefiting from that situation is if Naby was allowed to go to Dortmund in January and Jude would only leave Dortmund in the summer, and that won't happen. Otherwise that's just too big a change for mid-season

Elliot_Kyouma

Losing Bellingham in the middle of the season to get Keita is absurd. There are a lot of players on Keita's level out there.

BarryZuckerhorn

By being readily available, I'm counting myself on a even higher level than Keita

InfamousJackfruit672

Probably not. swap deals are much rarer in reality than in the rumour columns. Dortmund also want to keep him for the rest of the season and they are in the title race atm.

SuperHyperFunTime

Never believe a deal that involves a player going the other way. It is always bullshit.

Jaja6996

Probably not they can already agree to get keita on a free as soon as the January window opens

Zeewolf93

I guess that's the point, so can other clubs. It's sounds like a case of we scratch their back they scratch ours. I'd imagine handing Keita over would take €20-30m off the asking price for Jude. Again, probably bollocks but one can hope.

Martianman97

Sounds way to good to be true

Zeewolf93

Very likely. I'm in no way expecting this to happen. At this point my expectations are six foot under to the point even an Arthur signing got me excited. I just wondered if anyone else had heard the same rumours and could elaborate.

EndOfDays17

Laimer is twerking for us. Get him on a free transfer next summer, as well as Douglas Luiz. Spunk all the budget on Bellingham and you've transformed the midfield. Hoping this is what we do.

Elliot_Kyouma

He wants to play under Nagelsmann again, he's a shoe in for Bayern, unless they sack him.

GlobalLemon2

Isn't he angling for Bayern?

Architect22

He’s a great player but his ankles are made of wet crisps by the looks of it.

barryboi6969

So perfect for our midfield!

dgn90

Has he mentioned us?

Android17_MVP

Laimer: "I’m generally a football fan. I generally like watching the Premier League. I’ve always been a Liverpool fan.” [BILD]

vadapaav

My dog is a Liverpool fan too

NilsFanck

Can he play midfield?

ss2195

He can but he also gets injured a lot.

SuperHyperFunTime

Trent's "all round game" lets him down according to Southgate. It's like reading a fucking match thread or Twitter.

Tomtucker93

Just watch Reece James highlights against Leeds and tell me how he is all round better than Trent, Gareth. Yes trent has been lackluster this season but when he was best in the world he couldn't get a sniff.

malcolm58

ie he can attack but cannot defend as well as others

severedfragile

England set up with 6, sometimes 7 defensive-minded players. If you can coach for shit, you can sacrifice one of those in the right circumstances for a more attack-minded player. So yeah, they might need 8.

Absolute_Wham

With the new Tory tax cuts Mo Salah is going to bank an extra £1m (every £1m a year equates to £55k in yearly savings. Mo is on £18.2m google search suggests). Imagine that saving across the board. As if that money is going to trickle down to the most hard hit families. A joke.

cavejohnsonlemons

The mental thing is they could've pretended a little, keep boiled frogging us. But no, straight-up the solution to a 'cost-of-living crisis' (aka "previous evil Tory shit") is limitless banker bonuses & tax cuts for the 1%. How do you make fucking Boris Johnson look subtle ffs. But [Pie does it better as always](https://youtu.be/w-V5FVludFk). What are you gonna do with your extra £7? Anyway think Labour just won the next election yesterday with that GB Energy thing. Before that it was just they (surely) can't lose it.

ahktarniamut

Would still want labour to exercise caution and don’t mess up until the next GE election. We can’t forget the shitshow of 2019 where Boris was left with a 80 plus majority . Don’t bloody trust our electorate whose attention span are decreasing year by year and will still voting conservatives. The Tories are good at wining election and have lot of media behind them . Starmer has a lot of mountain to climb if he want to be PM

cavejohnsonlemons

Oh yeah I was convinced Tories were gonna lose in 2019, half-hoped it in 2017... not gonna believe they're finally gone till Truss/whoever gets dragged kicking & screaming. But using Brexity-sounding lines to promote green energy is low-key genius imo.

Ice_Oxyacetylene

Southgate 💀💀💀

mrheils

Apparently Konate has been given the green light to resume training. Great news if true!

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

Fantastic news. They never even told us what happened so I expected it was something bad.

TheLimeyLemmon

It was an impact injury sustained in a friendly the weekend of the community shield. A clash of knees with another player.

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

I saw it live on LFC tv. But the club never went into specifics or gave any proper time table on the recovery after.

AdikkuChan

Maybe it looked kinda bad and they didn't want to give another incorrect estimate? Otherwise it'll be another 2-4 weeks ™️ situation

Lokcet

Now you mention it, yeah people bitch either way. No specifics and people complain about being kept in the dark. If they give an estimation but there are complications, people complain that they were lied to.

risingstar3110

I heard that Suarez does not have a club at this moment. Should we let him training with us (to keep his fitness up) while keep him around for squad/ sub? We technically don't have back up for Salah position atm (I know Klopp is the one who decide, but just ask for ppl opinion here)

SuperHyperFunTime

No. He is the past. He has nothing to offer. Move the fuck on.

Elliot_Kyouma

He plays for an Uruguayan club

7Angel21

He will be out of contract as their season has ended/will end soon.

Elliot_Kyouma

Their season will end 2 weeks before the world cup, and he will immediately start the training camp with gis national team. For January i think there are much better options out there than current Suarez, even though i love the guy.

R3dbeardLFC

If he'd play for a packet of crisps and a ribena, sign him up, otherwise yeah, we need to focus on younger/fit/ready players.

InfamousJackfruit672

>Suarez He played for his team 11 days ago, so we won't be able to use the free agent loophole to sign him before January. Are you sure he is free? on Transfermarkt his deal expires on Dec 31st. We have Jota, Nunez and Bobby all playing the central striker and this is where Suarez is best, so I don't think we need the extra guy in training. But if he needs a place to crash I don't see any harm in him joining training for a couple of months; though I guess he would be more likely to go to Spain. I also don't think Suarez would thrive as a backup, especially not to someone who is as rarely injured as Salah.

risingstar3110

Ah ok, I heard somewhere that he is out of the club right now. Could be just a rumour

InfamousJackfruit672

I mean he was away with NT so he is away(out of) from the club atm, but looks like he will return. But he could be scooped up in January I guess. However from what I gather about Suarez, he want's to play all the games he can, which is probably why he hasn't taken a lucrative benchwarmer gig at Chelsea or something.

Mad_Piplup242

...How would Suarez help with Salah backup exactly?

risingstar3110

He plays as right striker for Uruguay

Mad_Piplup242

Right striker and right winger are very different

risingstar3110

I understand, but it's hard to find a right winger, who also can score and create from the right wing, and does not want to start ahead of Salah. Suarez can score and create from the right, especially if pair with Nunez, maybe for certain games

iwsh10

Hey everyone - going to my first match ever (!)on Oct 29 against Leeds. I was wondering when they’ll likely confirm the game time based on past experiences - let me know! YNWA!!

Craft-Superb

Anyone else feel like the season up until now has been a bit bizarre to the point it doesn’t feel real? Like for me the season starts on Saturday and everything until now was preseason or a fever dream or something

TheLimeyLemmon

It'd all be fine if we had some tangible form and decent points, but the absence of that, plus our injuries, really accentuates the bizarre nature of this season. It's quite common for the first half of the season to be hard to read, but this is something else.

CanSheFitInARowBoat

The whole world feels like a fever dream to me at the moment, with football being part of that. Don't want to be too doom and gloom but feels like we are just walking around as the world crashes and burns around us.

Craft-Superb

Been feeling that way for a few years now (maybe the pandemic?) Glad to know I’m not the only one

AdikkuChan

So basically [The Champions](https://youtu.be/Xt3ssJZK5Dg)?

Cactiareouroverlords

Yeah I totally agree, I’ve been subconsciously checking here expecting transfer news because it still feels like pre season lmao

Martianman97

Yeh it almost feels like a line has been drawn under "pre international" matches. Injury crisis. Baffling Tactics. New star striker getting sent off for headbutting. Several players in the worst form of their careers. Klopp and the team coming out and acknowledged all that and then we had the break and postponements. It really does feel like a fresh start and for once we might have a bench and have a new Midfield signing
