I don’t think it’s on us if mane felt he should have been better paid the past few years. He signed a long term contract at that stated wages. It’s on him or his agent. They should have been smarter with negotiations, and could have very well open up this conversation the past season or two
I don’t think anyone gives a fuss if he plans to leave or even leave for free. We just want him to do it amicably. Look at how Origi or Gini left. Respect for the club and player is still very much intact.
Fair enough. But do have a think, which one of our ex players left and performed better in his new club?
The only player that I can think of is Suarez. Almost none of Klopp era players left and had a better time elsewhere.
Can we stop with the "news" about how the French authorities suck? I feel like being mad about it is a good distraction for some due to the loss. But honestly, I'm over it and the entire Liverpool feed is filled with it when I'd rather it be filled with transfer rumors and great plays from our players on international duty.
Hi Liverpool fans, I asked this question in united sub few days ago and I wanted to ask you too who do you think would win if there was a match between 07/08 United team vs 2019 Liverpool Team.
You cannot answer that without mentioning about the - the diet, physio, pitch conditions, ball, etc. Which era would those variables be of? Whichever era(you are talking about teams more than 10 years apart) you choose, that team wins, because that's what they are used to. The other team isn't.
We were so close to the greatest team achievement in English football history yet so much negativity. If Sadio wants to leave we will replace him with the right centre forward whether it’s now or January. This team is blessed with wonderful players and only needs fine tuning to help it become even better. Can’t wait for next season personally.
I hate modern football. I have such a hard time to sympathize with players already earning 200k/week wanting even more. And yes i know the structure behind etc. no need to lecture me
I want to see a poll of our fan base: Should we pay Mané £400,000 a week to keep him?
I’m seeing more and more people just saying “pay him what he’s asking for!” on Twitter.
If we give Mané even that money, Salah is entitled to what, £325k? Virgil, £350K? Allison, £300K? Trent, £225K? It would ruin us giving in to what Salah and Mané are asking for.
1. Is it me or the Nation's League a bit superfluous atm except possibly as a preview of what to expect from each team in the World Cup
2. Episode 3 of Kenobi is dope....not nessecarily perfect but still excellent
3. How is Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 in comparison of the first 3 seasons....only seen the first ep
Stranger Things S4V1 is brilliant. The group is all split up into it’s different groups and sometimes it struggles to fit all the storylines in. The horror element is by far the strongest it has been yet. Dustin is like a medium between the audience and the show, he explains what is going regarding the upside down and whatnot which is cleverly done. Making everyone wait until July for volume 2 is just cruel.
Sounds dope af, only seen Ep 1 so far...but ngl it seems to have some strengths on Kenobi such as duration, budget, ambition, etc.
Also the cheerleader looks a lot like Hilary Duff and her sisters, or is that just me?
That would be a nice acquisition. Could play him as a midfielder or a false 9 in our system. Move Henderson back to DM, Keita and Thiago as the choices for left-sided 8. Nkunku, Elliott and Jones and who knows Gordon or someone like that as the more offensive choice. Wouldn't mind that at all. Also leaves space for another attacker.
Press conference for the Senegalese match. He said the people of Senegal want him to leave. They think he’s better than Salah and needs to step out of his shadow to prove it.
Being a good player has to do a lot with the players around you, rather than yourself. See messi, and Ronaldo for example. I don’t wish this for Mane, but I would expect him to be a shadow of the player he was with us, if he chooses to move.
https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1532785432966090756?s=21&t=IhC09Ae7rQroM2nIQ_-UWQ
The first part about him wanting to leave is true though, unfortuantely.
the amount of vile xenophobic takes coming after last weekends incident is saddening.
reminder to everyone to use critical thinking and not let fear and anger turn into bigotry.
/r/soccer was especially bad for this today
Anybody play a fantasy football game they'd recommend? I normally play the official fantasy premier league one, but the nonsense about them deleting the teams of every Russian player last year has put me off.
I know it’s silly considering the season just ended, but I’m already itching for the new season’s schedules to be released, I just like staring at them.
For some reason we’ve played the winners of the Championship to start our season for 3 straight years, so I’m betting that we play Fulham for our first game lol.
Worst case scenario and wont happen but If the club fail to sign any new players and we lose mane and salah who starts as the front three next season? Jota, Firmino, Taki?
Besides the down votes. I actually like this idea. Give him a two year contract. Just enough for us to fully plan out the mane replacement. He has worked with klopp before. But it does go against the liverpool player.profile in every single way
UEFA brought a FFP charge v city and lost. They now, albeit through local authorities, tried to blame liverpool (fans and manager) for the chaos at the CL final and have apologised in less than a week, with the conclusion pretty inevitable from here.
The super league has never been closer...
Vent: Feel like shit today.
Got into an argument with a bellend who constantly put words in my mouth all for the sake of insulting me and wrongly claim he has the moral high ground for the sake of it without even reading what I said.
You're absolutely correct, that prick doesn't matter. I just needed to vent it out of my system. I no longer even remember his user name after telling him to fuck off and blocking him.
Scored a hattrick v bodo/glimt (i think that was on his return from the injury?), then scored the winner in the final too. Given roma were content with having less of the ball in the final, i thought he was good when given the chance. A few nice runs to stretch the defence/pull markers out of position that never came off, passed well enough too. Suppose the price we can get him for will be a big factor.
It's a little bit harder, but totally doable some companies are trying hard to go back to the office and want any excuse to do it.
Don't know your area, but I've been mentoring quite a few interns and junior devs in their first jobs at my company (all remote) and it's not much different than in person.
It all comes to them not being afraid to ask for help and we being perceptive about their struggles through chat only. .
Were beginning to see the indirect effects of slave-state-owned clubs now. Players are being paid astronomical wages, not all of them deserving it (looking at wijnaldum or most other psg players, Sancho at united, Barcelona players like de jong or aubameyang) and it's making our own massive wage fees look miniscule in comparison.
Most professional players don't give a shit about the club they play for so of course they'll go to some place where they get paid 3 times as much, even if they're directly supporting a slave state's sportswashing organisation. What do we do when Van Dijk, Alisson, Alexander Arnold, Fabinho, Konate, Diaz and whoever else start demanding wages with expectations warped by financial dopers? We just lose our best players.
The sport is beyond fucked now with the Saudis and Newcastle joining the fray
The arse will fall out of it all eventually. The transfer market is bursting as we speak, free transfers will be the future of football. I can't see us being too far from wage caps either.
I doubt a wage cap would do anything to combat the main problem, the oil teams. They all pay unaccounted for "bonuses" off the books to players and managers anyway. They cheat at every aspect of the game and would just find some way around any new rules implemented
It would have to be some kind of system similar to La Liga, where they literally tell you how much you can spend and it's a hard cap with punishment for not sticking to it. I know one of the alleged ideas the govt. is thinking of for the regulator is all clubs being subject to live financial monitoring, which would surely help things a bit.
Mate the government is on the take you know. Look at PSG and France. Macron was involved with helping Mbappe resign. Thats already fucked and if you don’t believe that he was paid for this efforts, then I got a bridge to sell ya.
Hello lads and ladies, I made this silly game as part of a course I\`m taking. I thought you might like it. Let me know what you think.
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/700224823/
Edit: I think you can only play it from a PC, not sure if it\`s smartphone friendly.
Congrats, there's no comparison, Div just says different things depending on your score. You can just compare with other players. I got something around 40 usually.
Salah and Alisson came from Roma so...
But on the flip side, we also had Aquilani (albeit he was really injury prone) and Borini.
Loads of players from Serie A made it in the PL. Balotelli (yeah, he's a joke at this point and during his time with us but during his time at City, he was unstoppable.), this was a long time ago but Chelsea had a host of Italian players in the 90's. Zola, Di Matteo, and Cudicini.
Henry, Van Der Saar, and Bergkamp all jumped to the PL from Serie A as well.
I'm not British, so I don't follow things too closely, but [THIS](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/jun/02/complete-nonsense-asda-boss-mocks-post-brexit-plan-to-return-to-imperial-measures) is really how desperate Boris is getting? (Also, you used to need a crown stamp on a pint glass? EDIT: Ah, to show compliance with weights and measures law - that at least makes a bit more sense)
Maybe, as always, the Simpsons explains everything. [Our respective nations just need to keep coddling this guy!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5-s-4KPtD8)
They’ve won four World Series titles since 2004 after breaking an 86 year curse. They’ve been able to stay relevant in the playoffs most years and almost made the World Series last year. Probably the biggest pain in the ass was the fact that we had to trade our best player in probably two to three decades and now he’s tearing it up in LA
Their biggest issue is investing in pitching but that’s historically a problem for the Red Sox and not John Henry exclusively
They have the most Championships this century in Baseball, one of the best run teams in the sport, the benchmark that all teams have followed, now all the Baseball teams follow their analytical approach.
Over the length of their ownership it has varied from the best run team to average.
They are mostly hands off and let the General Manager make most of the calls with the exception of some contract decisions and some pricing decisions
They have won 4 World Series in roughly 20 years, which is a pretty good return. Their playoff record is OK. Much better than the previous 86 years.
I was as heavily invested in the Red Sox from 1985-2010 as I am in LFC from 2010-current. I've paid less attention in the last 12 years because my time is spent following Liverpool.
They are mostly good owners who occasionally make a daft decision. They have maintained a payroll that floats between 1-6 in the league and have had a few rebuild periods which have mostly been done well, but agin those are generally down to the GM's decisions.
I despise Netflix. They ruin every show with unnecessary meddling and adding characters based on thier obsession of a orientation for no reason other than thier own personal fetish.
Its not going away. Soon there'll be no special isolation period, but it'll just be like having a cold etc, you probably should isolate, but wont have to.
Still very early in the window but no doubt there's a lot of things happening in the background. I personally give it another week or two before we start seeing more activity.
I wonder what keeps the top players at middle of the road countries going. Top teams like Germany, Brazil, France are in it to win it. No hopers (like it India made it) are in it for the ride. But these middle of the road countries like South Korea, Denmark, Poland, Switzerland etc. that qualify pretty much every time but have an almost 0 chance of winning - what's in it for them? Is it basically patriotism?
I mean, greece won the European cup in 04, and I imagine a lot of those players play to be part of those Cinderella stories. You've also got to keep in mind that playing for your country is a hell of a thing for friends and family, particularly when you're not playing in the local leagues.
That's nice and everything but I how many countries set new benchmarks anyway? Take Switzerland for example - they qualify every single time and most times don't go further than the first or second knock out. Their football is pretty stale too. What's the end game for them? Or Japan - one of the top dogs in Asia. Rarely make it past the first knockout rounds. Or Mexico - who also barely get past the first round knockout round. Is either of them ever gonna make a semi of a wc?
I don't mean it as disrespect of course. Their fans can and should be immensely proud of their players - but what's in it for the players themselves? What's shaqiri gonna win that he hasn't with the clubs he's played for? Why should Zlatan care?
I doubt it's much more than patriotism and love for your country. Fair reason if it is of course
That’s life no? Just because I work hard doesn’t mean I’m guaranteed to be rich, let alone be a billionaire. Sometimes you need luck in order to succeed.
Same thing can be said for those countries. They are trying their best by setting new benchmarks for the future generations to come. They’re gonna need more than just hard work to reach to the top.
As for the top players in those teams, they’re just there to play for the country really. They can only do so much with who they play with.
Sturridge is looking for a new club after a disastrous season in Australia. I'd love to think he could do well somewhere else, maybe even league 1 or something, but the poor guy can't avoid injuries. He's like a magnet for them.
Should just retire, do his coaching badges and get a role at a club eventually.
He can definitely help strikers improve, help players who are going through what he did etc.
In Paris last weekend I saw someone at the fan park they had a white thiago tshirt on but the logo was like the black/green Nike airmax but it said thiago instead. I asked him where he got it but can’t remember where he said I’ve been trying to find it online but can’t. Anyone any ideas?
Sounds like some customised or knock off shirt, doubt you'll find something like that on an official online store. If you remember let me know though yeah? Cheers.
Saw the new Top Gun on Thursday night. Thought it was pretty good! Better than any other nostalgia sequel/revival that I’ve seen over the last 15+ years.
Weird that they put every scene about Maverick and Charlie back to back, you end up with like 10 minutes of them hitting on each other but not taking the last step while Take My Breath Away plays over and over.
I might actually like the sequel more than the original. The original is okay; was never a huge fan and never went out of my way to rewatch it if it was on TV over the years. I’m probably more familiar with the shit NES game than the movie.
Bought FIFA 22 at 84% off Steam right after the CL final. Played Player Career and it's kinda wild ngl, we signed Valverde and Pereira, Trent playing LB, and Taki is a super sub.
Gotta admit I actually felt very hyped playing alongside Thiago at midfield
Is player career any good or fun? I don't actually like to play the full normal fifa but the player mode just seems like it could be so good. It's just that the old versions are so bad
It's my first FIFA so I can't really tell, but presentation wise it's pretty good. Though gameplay might be a tad easier compared to PES Become a Legend on similar difficulty settings
Funny you should mention it. I gave my old laptop to my neice during quarantine and apparently I had fifa 12 installed on it and she has been playing it. She is not good but nostalgia hit me hard seeing her play. Also we had downing and charlie adam as starters. Man how far we come. Fifa 14 is the last fifa I played. I just lost interest in video games by that point.
Maddock is saying Mo and Sadio were asking for 400k per week in their contract negotiations. Absolutely mental....
Edit: I'm not saying it's unfair. I understand it. I just fear losing em.
As mental as it is, it's their final big pay day and I can understand. We have to rope them in with 350 + bonuses, or, sell one and do everything to keep the other.
I understand that. However, I don't think the club has ever paid that much to any player singularly. Hence my fear, that both will want to move. Sadio is already halfway to Munich.
I don’t think it’s on us if mane felt he should have been better paid the past few years. He signed a long term contract at that stated wages. It’s on him or his agent. They should have been smarter with negotiations, and could have very well open up this conversation the past season or two
Well …. then the club ne fans can’t be mad when the player decides to do whatever after going on a free.
I don’t think anyone gives a fuss if he plans to leave or even leave for free. We just want him to do it amicably. Look at how Origi or Gini left. Respect for the club and player is still very much intact.
The fans are kinda in outrage that he would go to a rival on a free.
And that’s completely fine. Let’s see how he would do in another club. I’m convinced that we facilitate and bring the best out of the players
He’d think the same. let’s see how they do without me. He’s convinced he’s not as replaceable as the club and fans like you claim.
Fair enough. But do have a think, which one of our ex players left and performed better in his new club? The only player that I can think of is Suarez. Almost none of Klopp era players left and had a better time elsewhere.
Of course. Good players look great in a great team and world class players are great anywhere. Like suarez….. Like salah…..
Cornelius is a pretty badass name
Can we stop with the "news" about how the French authorities suck? I feel like being mad about it is a good distraction for some due to the loss. But honestly, I'm over it and the entire Liverpool feed is filled with it when I'd rather it be filled with transfer rumors and great plays from our players on international duty.
No international watch thread?
I disagree. Our fan base is delusional if we think we can sustain this level without heavy investments from FSG.
I hate modern football. I have such a hard time to sympathize with players already earning 200k/week wanting even more. And yes i know the structure behind etc. no need to lecture me
That's why I refuse to have sentiments for players That age is gone.
That's why the only name I ever get on the back of my jersey is my own. I can't be bought and sold.
I want to see a poll of our fan base: Should we pay Mané £400,000 a week to keep him? I’m seeing more and more people just saying “pay him what he’s asking for!” on Twitter.
No. If it was up to me the best I'd give is 275k for 2 years. And even that is an emotional decision because he's a club hero
If we give Mané even that money, Salah is entitled to what, £325k? Virgil, £350K? Allison, £300K? Trent, £225K? It would ruin us giving in to what Salah and Mané are asking for.

Future liverpool player, Nkunku is about to come on for France if anyone is interested
Helped his team lose i see
We must will it into existence
That would be a nice acquisition. Could play him as a midfielder or a false 9 in our system. Move Henderson back to DM, Keita and Thiago as the choices for left-sided 8. Virginia somehow has personalized Liverpool license plates. Any suggestions for 6 alphanumerics?
6TIMES
Think they want it to last more than 10 months

Mane wishes to play somewhere else because the people of Senegal want him to. So fucking stupid.
That prick El Hadji Diouf is a superstar to the senegalese people and he hates us, so many Senegal fans hate us as a result.
Do you have a source on this? I also saw this on some random IG account - but also without a source.
The full quote is that he doesn't respect the hierarchy of the club. Clearly has a problem with fsg
Thanks, where are you getting this from though? Edit: nvm found it from various sources on twitter.
Never mind it looks like a false account. My bad.
https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1532785432966090756?s=21&t=IhC09Ae7rQroM2nIQ_-UWQ The first part about him wanting to leave is true though, unfortuantely.
I've accepted that hes going to leave. Just hope we replace him with another quality forward.

You're absolutely correct, that prick doesn't matter. I just needed to vent it out of my system. I no longer even remember his user name after telling him to fuck off and blocking him.
Great. I'm glad it's out of your system!
I just found out Liverpool was founded on June 3rd, which is also my birthday. Meant to be a red lmao
April 15 here. April 15 to June 3 = 49 days. Square root of 49 = 7. CL #7 coming next year confirmed
November 12th. 162 days away. The square root of 162 is 12.72. 12.72 x 162 = 2060 So next year we're winning #20 but not number 7 it seems.
Happy Birthday 🥳
Thank you !!
Cant wait for Mario Strikers to come out and finally give Fifa some competition
Fifa don't have all the rights like they used to, their era is over anyway.
It's wild that both PES and FIFA are gone. eFootball and EA Sports FC doesn't quite have the same ring to it n
„Fancy a game of EA Sports FC?“ has a weird ring to it. People will still refer to it as FIFA I reckon.
Why can’t I see a comment from a Redditor? It says unavailable and profile deleted.
They blocked ya
Zaniolo has been made available apparently... would be a good signing imo
Has he recovered from that injury he had ? How has been performing ?. Remember he had been linked a while back..
Scored a hattrick v bodo/glimt (i think that was on his return from the injury?), then scored the winner in the final too. A few nice runs to stretch the defence/pull markers out of position that never came off, passed well enough too. Suppose the price we can get him for will be a big factor.
De Jong signing for United against his will is such a United signing.
Factos
how realistic do you think a fresh graduate getting a remote job as their entry job? i wanna be realistic in my expectations lol .
It's a little bit harder, but totally doable some companies are trying hard to go back to the office and want any excuse to do it. Highly realistic but expect a longer and more strict / monitored probation period

I got 34, no idea if that's a good score or not haha and nicely done
Congrats, there's no comparison, Div just says different things depending on your score. You can just compare with other players. I got something around 40 usually.
How do Serie A players tend to do when they come to the Prem? Not counting Lukaku cause he's just a donkey. You don't see many come here
Salah and Alisson came from Roma so... But on the flip side, we also had Aquilani (albeit he was really injury prone) and Borini. Loads of players from Serie A made it in the PL. Very good points! Just debating whether it's worth us looking into the Serie A for players
Two of our best players in the team came from Serie A. One was a Chelsea reject, the other conceded 7 goals to us a few months before he joined us.
Aquilani sums it up i think...
Announce Nicolo Barella, Mr Ward.
How well run is John Henry's base ball team? And how good is their winning record in knock out matches or finals?
They’ve won four World Series titles since 2004 after breaking an 86 year curse. They’ve been able to stay relevant in the playoffs most years and almost made the World Series last year. Probably the biggest pain in the ass was the fact that we had to trade our best player in probably two to three decades and now he’s tearing it up in LA Their biggest issue is investing in pitching but that’s historically a problem for the Red Sox and not John Henry exclusively
They have the most Championships this century in Baseball, one of the best run teams in the sport, the benchmark that all teams have followed, now all the Baseball teams follow their analytical approach.
Over the length of their ownership it has varied from the best run team to average. They are mostly hands off and let the General Manager make most of the calls with the exception of some contract decisions and some pricing decisions They have won 4 World Series in roughly 20 years, which is a pretty good return.
What show have they ruined for you?
Anyone else watching The Boys?
Gonna start watching Season 3 tomorrow
On my list to watch over the coming days . A great way with 3 episodes released to distract from the jubilee thing going around .
Wife got covid. Can't believe this menace is still around. It's been 3 years ffs
Two years and four months. It's gonna be around for good.
Its not going away. Soon there'll be no special isolation period, but it'll just be like having a cold etc, you probably should isolate, but wont have to.
True. I mean if she has it, i probably have it too. Probably asymptomatic.
Transfer talk has been quieter than I expected.
If you ignore people baying for Nunez , Nkunku and Gavi... Yeah ...
Well I'd like any of them. But I mean concrete information.
We are always like this, it will be very quiet and then boom a new signing!
Which is much better than the alternative of very quiet and then boom journalist pieces of “next summer is our summer”
Still very early in the window but no doubt there's a lot of things happening in the background. I personally give it another week or two before we start seeing more activity.
What’s stopping players from pulling out of the NT squad if they don’t wanna play in a meaningless tournament?
Fair point. Maybe I'm seeing this from only my point of view. Kinda like i wouldnt, so why would they?
Definitely setting a benchmark for the people back home. To show there’s hope for the kids. More government funding too if they go deep.
True, i don't know why i decided to go down this rabbit hole lol
Their relationship with the coach and squad selection, considering the World Cup round the corner

Yes mate was that in white. Nice one 👍👍👍
Sounds like some customised or knock off shirt, doubt you'll find something like that on an official online store. If you remember let me know though yeah? Cheers.

Yeh I know it’s not an official thing. But he told me the Instagram but I forgot it. Was smart as fuck tho.
I dont get what is all the hate about Obi-wan series, its been good for me.. some slightly annoying characters but nothing get too angry about.
A very sad and nasty vocal minority are doing most of the talking. No one hates Star Wars like Star Wars fans.
The worse part of any fandom is, sadly, the fans. Not all, but vocal minority and elitist minority really ruin things.
Whats all the hype over nunez? He’s smelling like the new joao felix. Good but overpriced.
The professor for Pokemon Violet looks like General Ironwood.
#MITOCHONDRIA IS THE POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL
We need something similar in our midfield!
Hi
Chup bc
🤣
Saw the new Top Gun on Thursday night. Thought it was pretty good! Better than any other nostalgia sequel/revival that I’ve seen over the last 15+ years.
Movie was great. Thinking about going again.
Watched the original yesterday in prep for the 2nd. Man the film was much better when I was 5 years old
Weird that they put every scene about Maverick and Charlie back to back, you end up with like 10 minutes of them hitting on each other but not taking the last step while Take My Breath Away plays over and over.
It's just that the old versions are so bad
i think it’s fun but i always make up storylines/backstory in my head cause it gets stale after a while
It's my first FIFA so I can't really tell, but presentation wise it's pretty good.
Yeah I feel you. I have a lotta games that I haven't finished yet on Steam, but I plan to complete them one at a time
I really really can’t wait to watch Carvalho and Diaz tear this league up next season.
Maddock is saying Mo and Sadio were asking for 400k per week in their contract negotiations. Absolutely mental.... Edit: I'm not saying it's unfair. I understand it. I just fear losing em.
The men need to pay their gas and leccy ffs
seems fair when plenty of buckets who can’t hold water are getting paid more elsewhere
Why is that mental? They have been underpaid for years. They rightfully are asking a number that would compensate that.
Is there a direct source for Maddock saying this?
[Here you go, his article in Mirror.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/sadio-mane-contract-liverpool-manutd-27133242)
Thank you
Inflation is crazy
As mental as it is, it's their final big pay day and I can understand. We have to rope them in with 350 + bonuses, or, sell one and do everything to keep the other.
Then Van Dijk knocks on the door
I understand that. However, I don't think the club has ever paid that much to any player singularly. Hence my fear, that both will want to move. Sadio is already halfway to Munich.
