Casemiro was a such a good signing for them, serial winner with a winning mentality and literally told his agent he can fix them, need Jude to ring his agent and tell him he can fix us asap
Weeks like this makes me genuinly despise football. The pitiful performances on tuesday and saturday, my team got knocked out of Europa Conference on thursday and Scum knock out Barca and win a cup in the span of three days. Makes the weeks i genuinly love football all the sweeter i guess
I don't know if anyone knows, but a few days ago I saw this video with an image of Origi, and there was a narrator saying something along the lines of "It's the sound of chaos". Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
I fucking hate these fucks. They’ve had one good season and suddenly they’re one of the best teams. Their forwards are actually playing like they’re meant to? “BALLON DOR” “GREATEST CAREER COMBACK EVER” I hope these cunts fall all the way back down, because even if we’re mid table, I hope we have a friend down there
honest question to u english guys. do u think casemiro is in the same conversation as gerrard and lampard?
edit: guys i know they play in different positions. i mean in the same level of players. pirlo, gerrard, lampard, riquelme, etc are all grade A midfielders. is casemiro there yet?
Sometimes I put Casemiro in the same conversation as Gerrard/lampard. Usually the conversation goes “yeah Casemiro is alright but he’s nowhere near the level of Gerrard/lampard”
Gerrard was a 10/10 at everything there is in football. Tackling? running? defending? shooting long range? shooting short range? passing? crossing? Set pieces? Attacking headers? defensive headers? Leadership?drive? Shit housing?last minute desperate goals? Thundercunts? Calm finish? Stevie G's standards were just insane. And to top it all off his loyalty to us has him ingrained in our club as one of the best to ever wear our shirt. A truly special player.
He's defensive midfielder, you can't really compare them. But I would take Gerrard over every midfielder in the world right now, he was just that good.
i know they play in different positions. i mean in the same level of players. pirlo, gerrard, lampard, riquelme, etc are all grade A midfielders. is casemiro there yet?
i know they play in different positions. i mean in the same level of players. pirlo, gerrard, lampard, riquelme, etc are all grade A midfielders. is casemiro there yet?
Tbf they have been bad as well in recent times. PSG fans hate their midfield.
Veratti especially was really poor against Bayern. He kept losing the ball multiple times..
United never stopped spending money, it’s just that now enough money has been spent and they’ve found a competent manager to take advantage of it. The #GlazerOut brigade would rather the owners weren’t taking a lot of the money generated out of a club that was debt free when they bought it and maybe give Old Trafford a lick of paint once in a while.
I think another factor about Newcastle as well is that they have to build a winning culture. They havent won a trophy since the 50s, and building a winning culture isnt done over night. its one thing financially doping in France, PSG could build a winning culture within years, not as easy in England with all the competition and tradition
We have been utter shite this season, but still beat Newcastle home and away.
>dominated us
How?? Not a single point or stat would back you on this. We have enough bad performances in us, you don't need to invent some more ffs
We played like absolute shite against newcastle for essentially the entire time that they were playing with 10 men — our performance earlier in the year against them was fine, our most recent one was not. Ali put on a masterclass that day, they had 2xG.
We started poor against them, darwin scored against the run of play, we played well from this point until a few minutes after they go down to 10 men. On another day the game probably finishes 2-2. Anyone can go rewatch the match and tell me I'm wrong.
edit: We played about as well against newcastle with 10 men as we did against palace.
Been chatting with my United mate and honestly he's understood why I'm annoyed
United are shit for years despite spending hundreds of millions, ten hag comes into an underperforming team and buys 3 solid players including one of the biwt at his position, then buys a shit player with Anthony. Then he wins a trophy. He's a decent coach and has improved a lot of their players, but fuck me I wish we could afford a midfielder after being near the top for these years
I don't understand, why is Antony shit? He's scored against big teams, he is familiar with Ten Hag's style, and the team plays noticeably better with him than without him. Ten Hag prioritized his signing over a cheaper Gakpo too.
he literally got rinsed for how he did a stepover, even though he went on to score straight after. liverpool buy big and they're always getting slated.
What United prove more than anything is it only takes one window to change your clubs trajectory, and they've done it with the Glazers in charge.
I don't see any reason why Klopp and Liverpool can't do the same. Especially if he's bullish about the backing being there.
what're the chances we start spending like united every transfer?
if we dont moneyball can close the net spend gap... until everyone else gets as good as your are at moneyball
Imo ETH came with a vision of style of play he wants. And he bought players to fit that style pretty quickly.
Klopp and staff are struggling. They bought and promoted players who don’t fit their ideas or how we’ve used to play…I think we’re pretty much starting from scratch now.
One thing is clear. ETH will drop and sell whoever he needs. Klopp on the other hand struggles with this due to sell to buy policy and also kindness to players
Absolutely not.
Ten Hag came with his style and abandoned it after 2 games when they were battered by Brentford and Brighton - he adapted to the known limitations of the squad and they play Ole style. Sure, they are much more coached, but it is still Oleball.
>Sure, they are much more coached, but it is still Oleball.
I don't know how some people can't see this. Take out Rashford and Casemiro from this united side and play this team next to Ole's team I kid you not you can't tell the difference between both the sides.
At one point ole also broke records when united got second in the league and then the team went down and couldn't keep up. I hope the same thing happens.
Take out the two most in form players of any team and they will obviously look worse
Plus martinez and varane offer alot more stability in defense then maguire and lindelof ever did
Also, you know, ETH got written a blank cheque and £250mn in one window. But sure, it's Klopp's fault he has to operate under a sell to buy policy and only replace players when their contracts run out.
The only player Klopp bought in the current squad who maybe doesn't fit our system is Carvalho, and maybe Elliot but he was a youth buy. Everyone else fits like a glove including Nunez, Diaz and now Gakpo.
This ultimately comes down to fans protesting to get FSG out. It’s beyond madness to me that we win CL and don’t even bother to think about the new cycle.
The worst thing is they don't even play good football
Just a boring defensive counter attacking team playing with Rashford on the break after scoring a jammy goal
Their goal difference is +13 in the league and they've only scored 3 goals more than us all year
You would think at some point their luck will run out but who knows
Ole had luck for almost 2,5 years with only some bad patches now and then so nothing really surprises me with that gobshite club. Now they get someone in who is not actually a PE Teacher and have removed toxic elements like Pogba, Lingard, D. Henderson and of course Ronaldo. No wonder they improved…
And don't forget spending ALOT of money on players every single transfer window, which means they can take more risks and also get rid of flops much quicker
Where as we have to be spot on with every transfer and if they flop we can't even get rid of them until their contract expires....
Depressing
Their real test will come next season when teams show them more respect and sit deep to stop the counter.
That being said theyll likely drop another few hundred mill on players this summer too
Not ecstatic about them winning shit but not really that arsed with them winning league cups and europa leagues, as long as they don’t get close to titles and champions league finals Il continue to not be arsed
There is 1 reason why I'm causiously optimistic we will invest this summer - Klopp saying it publicly.
He always hinted he wanted recruitment and said he would like to have new players but now he came out and blatantly said that we NEED to invest.
Unlike the bullshit Graham Potter is selling to himself, I and everyone here imo still believe in him.
This just reinforces how absolutely vital it is FSG cough up if they don't wanna sell up.
We need about 4 plays in the summer, I'm not talking Kabak on loan deals either, 4 solid players with at least one being a Marquee signing. If FSG can't, or won't fund it then we need them out. I already think we do, and have for a while now but if we don't invest in the summer it's gonna be inexcusable.
It’s a pretty big one though and we have seen him for one game all season for half a game
That’s not reliable enough
Who would be our right back if Trent was injured for a period of time ?
No but I think it’s very very risky not having a backup to him . He’s just a youth player when you think of it. Just a loan even of an experienced rb to cover yourself
Not writing him off just wouldn’t risk it
Newcastle were shite today, but on a positive note, United have shown how quickly a team can go from awful to very good. Hopefully we can do similar next year.
Does it?
They don't even really play good football, they just get extremely lucky with a set piece then play with Rashford on the break
Their goal difference in the league is only 3 above us
This just reminds me of Tuchel's Chelsea when they kept winning 1-0 game after game and then their luck ran out
Do the first 2 games not count or something? lol
Anyways I'm comparing it with the other top 2, their goal difference is horrendous
People think Man Utd are in the title race when the top 2 have GDs of +30+
Yeah but we are shit this season and are 9th so ofcourse our goal difference is not the best
But they are somehow 3rd and are "in the title race" and their goal difference compared with Arsenal and Man City is much much worse
I think they will be lucky to still be considered in the title race by the end of the season
And? We lost our first EL and CL final as well as our first real title chase under Klopp. Howe has done a tremendous job to even get them there whilst competing for top 4 in the league with that squad.
Just saying how hypocritical it is to criticise them for not winning in a first final lmao. Also backtrack all you like but you criticised a team for not scoring in a final when we did it 3 times last season.
And ownership complaints aside, can you really say that you expected them to be doing this well with the current squad? Howe's done a terrific job by nearly any metric.
I don't know why you have this fantastical idea that people are extrapolating Howe's early success to winning future trophies, people just think it's ridiculous to bash him after he's only exceeded expectations so far.
You're speaking about Howe's Newcastle "bottling it" like they were the massive favourites. This isn't peak Guardiola City losing a final, this is a team which is 1 summer removed from being a relegation contender.
I'm sure you'll come back and say that they should expect to challenge for trophies after spending £300m but just look at the competition around them...so far they've gone above and beyond what is expected of their current squad.
What a braindead reply. It has everything to do with Newcastle, this is the first time they've reached a final and lost. We did the same thing under a new manager, with new players bedding in.
You could say the same about us at that point, who knew we would go onto win trophies after the EL loss, similar to how you can't say that Newcastle won't be in the mix for further trophies
Neither can you say with a 100% guarantee they won't. Specially with their owners who could buy out the whole league and not bat an eyelid. Nothing is guaranteed in football, but as United and Chelsea and city have shown, money will get you quicker results
Because, and I hope this gets though to you, they are in the same situation we were in when Klopp first came, except they have way more money, so their chances of winning are similar to what ours were even if you discount Howe. I don't get why you are getting obsessed with them losing today, they'll be fighting for CL spots and domestic cups for sure
What we'll get is Conference league, 1 new midfielder (not Bellingham), and keita resigned to a 5 year deal. That's how terrible we've been at transfers
We win our games in hand we're two off Spurs and we play them. We've been shite but it isn't over yet. Diaz coming back will be massive, I'm not giving up on it when there's nothing else to play for this season.
I don't know why, but Utd winning this is much more annoying to me than when they won the exact same trophy under Mourinho
Maybe it's because they have SO many unlikable players (Bruno, Lisandro Martínez, Casemiro, Antony) or because then we were on the rise and they still looked shit.
Have to credit Erik ten Hag though, he took bunch of shit players nobody believed in (the like of Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw) and made them a good football team. Yes, they spent A LOT in the summer (I wish we can spend like that), but you have to credit him - he also doesn't look like a dickhead, but the jury is still out.
Because just last year, we were close to winning it all and seeing our fall off in just 8-9 months feels like we're missing out on trophies. Back in 16-17, we were still a raw squad that Klopp was mending into what he envisioned and what we went on to be. At that time we sort of just accepted United's UEL and League Cup win.
I thought Karius did well. Nothing he could do on the first goal and the second has come off his own defender from point blank range. He made some good saves and I hope he can use that mentally going forward
Casemiro was a such a good signing for them, serial winner with a winning mentality and literally told his agent he can fix them, need Jude to ring his agent and tell him he can fix us asap
His father you mean.

Probably a when I'm Liverpool
It's the WIL from the Everton game where Pickford had dinosaur arms. Can't find a link for it. Probably removed but if anyone finds it please DM

Chelsea are the annoying rich kid
honest question to u english guys. do u think casemiro is in the same conversation as gerrard and lampard? edit: guys i know they play in different positions. i mean in the same level of players. pirlo, gerrard, lampard, riquelme, etc are all grade A midfielders. is casemiro there yet?

I would say so, but defensive midfielders don't get the same recognition.
Different positions mate. Lampard and Gerrard at their peak were 20 plus goal scoring midfielders. Casemiro can be compared to kante.
i know they play in different positions. i mean in the same level of players. pirlo, gerrard, lampard, riquelme, etc are all grade A midfielders. is casemiro there yet?
Of definitely, you have to be with the career he has had. 5 cl is something special.
Watching Vitinha Veratti Fabian is painful for me after watching henderson/milner/Keita last night.
PSG's midfield is awful, mate.
Tbf they have been bad as well in recent times. PSG fans hate their midfield. Veratti especially was really poor against Bayern. He kept losing the ball multiple times..

Spend money = win trophies…
We won two last season. Including this one.
Worst fucking season ever man. Fuck this
It could get a whole lot worse too...city winning the CL and united winning the FA cup would be the ultimate shit season
Pep is a league cheating bald fraud hes probably gonna go out to Leipzig in the most comical way possible considering they fucked up the first leg
Thanks, I hate it
The Norwich scarves going back into storage for a bit then.
green and gold until we win a game
No Liverpool fan said the words "FSG OUT" before the start of this season
Super league, ticket prices and there has been criticism of the spending for years
and yet there wasn't a single fsg protest. Crazy how that's happened now yous are shit.
karius really wasn't bad at all. his outfield players just suck so much ass. ASM and wilson were in the mud
I think another factor about Newcastle as well is that they have to build a winning culture. They havent won a trophy since the 50s, and building a winning culture isnt done over night. its one thing financially doping in France, PSG could build a winning culture within years, not as easy in England with all the competition and tradition

We won the gamw

He's not shit, he's just not worth 100 million.
He's also nowhere near as good as Nunez who gets 10x the criticism and flop accusations, which pisses off lots of people
Darwin was an easy target, because he looks clumsy at times. But it's getting funny now, they even troll him when he scores
he literally got rinsed for how he did a stepover, even though he went on to score straight after. liverpool buy big and they're always getting slated.
Not to mention as soon as Eriksons injured they got sabitzer instantly.
Why weren't we looking at Sabitzer he would have been the addition we need in midfield
we hadn't "mOnItOrEd" him long enough.
Because we’re penny pinching morons
Carl Froch is providing some pretty good entertainment tonight lol
What United prove more than anything is it only takes one window to change your clubs trajectory, and they've done it with the Glazers in charge. I don't see any reason why Klopp and Liverpool can't do the same. Especially if he's bullish about the backing being there.
That happens all the time in football. Just look at where Arsenal were a year ago. I everything looks terrible right now, but things change quickly.
Except united have spent hundred of millipns even when doing poorly. We havent spent even when we've done well
what're the chances we start spending like united every transfer? if we dont moneyball can close the net spend gap... until everyone else gets as good as your are at moneyball
Hopefully we can, but i'd imagine it's easier to come into a club and overhaul the work of the previous manager than to overhaul your own work.
Imo ETH came with a vision of style of play he wants. And he bought players to fit that style pretty quickly. Klopp and staff are struggling. I mean so did Klopp in 2016. Its a lot easier to do it year one than year eight.
A decent window and a decent manager. We’ve got one of the two and hopefully the decent window is summer.
Agreed ! Sky spouting all that shite about the red scum, very hard to take !
If we are being honest , football is a shit sport anyways. /s
Is it even a sport anymore? It's more about who your owners are and what they are willing to spend these days
Weird point to make about a team who just won a trophy despite the owners putting in (checks notes) negative one billion.
My whole point. We are talking about money and not the football.
It's weird to talk about money when you're talking about a team winning *despite* being financially handicapped.
Not once have I mentioned any team in particular in my comments. It's weird how defensive you are getting over me calling football a business.
lol sure, the original comment was said without any context whatsoever
You're a United fan, you've got your own forum to moan on.
As opposed to some other point in history?
Why do you United fans need to come on here? It's sad that you always have to try and prove you are better than us.
The worst thing is they don't even play good football Just a boring defensive counter attacking team playing with Rashford on the break after scoring a jammy goal Their goal difference is +13 in the league and they've only scored 3 goals more than us all year You would think at some point their luck will run out but who knows
And don't forget spending ALOT of money on players every single transfer window, which means they can take more risks and also get rid of flops much quicker Where as we have to be spot on with every transfer and if they flop we can't even get rid of them until their contract expires.... Depressing
Their real test will come next season when teams show them more respect and sit deep to stop the counter. That being said theyll likely drop another few hundred mill on players this summer too
goal difference doesn't tell you that their first two games are horrendous though
Newcastle just don't have any bite in the final 3rd, was same against us
Not ecstatic about them winning shit but not really that arsed with them winning league cups and europa leagues, as long as they don’t get close to titles and champions league finals Il continue to not be arsed
Meme United was much more fun than half decent United. Ah well. Hope Bruno gets crushed by the cup.
We sung it last year, we sung it last yeeeeeeear, efl cup champions, we sung it last year
There is 1 reason why I'm causiously optimistic we will invest this summer - Klopp saying it publicly. He always hinted he wanted recruitment and said he would like to have new players but now he came out and blatantly said that we NEED to invest. We need 7
3 midfielders, 2 CBs, a backup keeper, who else are you thinking?
I'd want a proper RB
Backup for salah and a reliable rb backup because Calvin Ramsey has had so many injured at a young age it’s very risky
He's only had the one injury related to his growing has he not?
It’s a pretty big one though and we have seen him for one game all season for half a game That’s not reliable enough Who would be our right back if Trent was injured for a period of time ?
Well hopefully Ramsay next year. Just seems odd to write off the lad considering he's not even had a chance yet
No but I think it’s very very risky not having a backup to him . He’s just a youth player when you think of it. Just a loan even of an experienced rb to cover yourself Not writing him off just wouldn’t risk it
Think if we're just getting a loan cover for Trent I'd rather give some of the under 21s a shout
Wouldn’t be good enough quality can’t be relying on under 21s in European games and league games
Newcastle were shite today, but on a positive note, United have shown how quickly a team can go from awful to very good. Hopefully we can do similar next year.
Karius should be proud, I know that must be a difficult loss but he looked sharp
Didn’t play bad at all and had 8 saves. Good for him, always thought that’s his level when he plays well (top half of a top 5 league)
I a more worried about the Spurs win. Need Conte and his toxicity back - this Stellini guy is too calm and uncontroversial for them to explode.
This was a derby match and spurs had to turn up. Don't be surprised if they go on to lose against some bottom side like forest or something.
Not to mention it's Chelsea. They're having a fire sale on points at the moment
Unfortunately we never looked like cashing in at home
Shit day for football
These lot are gonna ‘better’ our season last year aren’t they?
I'll never forgive this shower of cunts for destroying one of my favourite John Denver songs
remember how they were back under ole, or mourinho, or van gall?
Feels different this time ngl
Does it? They don't even really play good football, they just get extremely lucky with a set piece then play with Rashford on the break Their goal difference in the league is only 3 above us This just reminds me of Tuchel's Chelsea when they kept winning 1-0 game after game and then their luck ran out
they got a bad start though like -5 or -6 in the first two games

Need top 4, 3 class midfielders and it to be August ready to go again.
What we'll get is Conference league, 1 new midfielder (not Bellingham), and keita resigned to a 5 year deal. That's how terrible we've been at transfers
Neither of those are going to happen
We win our games in hand we're two off Spurs and we play them. We've been shite but it isn't over yet. Diaz coming back will be massive, I'm not giving up on it when there's nothing else to play for this season.
Sick of this dogshite team
We can only blame ourselves for this season.
I think the lesson here is a few good transfers can always change your chances at success. Our summer needs to be big
Still 2 trophies behind us in the all time list. Be nice if that’s all they win this season and we get our shit together in the summer
Honestly lets wait till next season, he is having his first season bounce
A team like Manchester United can’t stay down forever. We just need to fix ourselves and we will be able to compete with them.
They do look a much, much better side though in fairness. Hopefully you're right though
Well it will hit a blip sometime, won't stay forever like this
Yeah, when has man utd ever had a long sustained period of success
It's hardly gonna happen again lad, other teams are improving too before they dominated the league, transfer market etc
I hope we smash them next week. Would love to see some crunching Milner tackles on Antony and Casemiro.
If Milner tries to crunch the right wing beyblade then he'll be sent off, no chance Milner isn't late against those quick feet.
I don't know why, but Utd winning this is much more annoying to me than when they won the exact same trophy under Mourinho Maybe it's because they have SO many unlikable players (Bruno, Lisandro Martínez, Casemiro, Antony) or because then we were on the rise and they still looked shit.
Think it's annoying because it really feels like they've taken our place.
Bit premature don't you think?
Not premature to feel a certain way, it'd be premature if I phrased it as an absolute though
Gloss bless minamino.. He got us to the final last year.
Game’s gone lads.
Sucks that United won this. But Karius played well tbf and really hope his career gets better from here on.
I thought Karius did well. Nothing he could do on the first goal and the second has come off his own defender from point blank range. He made some good saves and I hope he can use that mentally going forward
Imagine they win the fucking league...
Nah city will let arsenal win it
Nah not happening
Stuff of nightmares… luckily not gonna happen
They've a better chance than we have of top 4 I'd say
well, obviously. Still wont win the league
Good redemption game for Karius even with the loss.
He lost….
... yeah I said that. But he kept it from being 5-0 instead of 2-0 and played well.
That’s some serious reaching He had one mabye solid save at the end the others were right at him
I guess you forgot about the incredible save going into halftime. I think I'll trust my eyes and the commentators over random redditors with agendas
Bro a top level goalie should always be saving that You’d be seriously worried if he left a clanger like that in
k
😂 great rebuttal
