Since you like Kill Bill:
Lady Snowblood (1973)
Since you like Wes Anderson:
Harold & Maude (1971)
And I don’t know why but I feel like you might enjoy this:
Drive (2011)
Skammen (Ingmar Bergman, 1968)
The Heiress (William Wyler, 1949)
Nothing But A Man (Michael Roemer, 1964)
Tag: pedroj414
Notes:
Recommended three films I wish people would watch more. I love all three of these.
Skammen (1968) is one of the most unique war films I’ve ever seen, exploring envy and shame through the main couple’s experience. The couple is played by Liv Ullmann and Max von Sydow.
The Heiress (1949) would appear to be a standard period romance, but the film progresses with gripping emotional intensity instead. The tremendous main cast has a lot to do with this intensity, especially Olivia de Havilland, whose performance as Catherine Sloper won her an Oscar. The writing is also fantastic, at once humane and cruel.
Nothing But A Man (1964) is too little seen. The film is a thoughtful and moving rendering of the difficulty of Black American life in the South. Ivan Dixon gives a remarkable performance, as does jazz musician Abbey Lincoln, in an unusual, naturalistic turn.
- Suspiria (1977)
- Raw (2016) [if you like body horror]
- The Last of Sheila (1973) [good whodunnit. Inspired a lot of Glass Onion]
Reddit is making my name bold for some reason so here’s the [link](https://boxd.it/4dlC9) instead.

**Detachment (2011)**
Adrien Brody plays a substitute teacher with depression and a heart too big for his own good in a horrible school with hardened students.
**Working Girls (1986)**
The most nonjudgmental and neutral film on sex work I have ever seen.
**Dog Day Afternoon (1975)**
Al Pacino and John Cazale play bank robbers in a botched robbery. Unironically one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.
