Can anyone comment if this is a good laptop in that it runs well and has good lifespan?

ViN_ThE_BaRNeY

Yes yes and yes The only down side it's Optimus only compared to the y540 that has a mux switch But all in all this is the better laptop

RollwithRock

Seems like a lot for only a 1660ti.

ViN_ThE_BaRNeY

What is a lot for a 1660ti? you mean the price???? this is a freaking steal.

TheDJKhalid

is the 1660ti the desktop one or the mobile one?

ViN_ThE_BaRNeY

Its a full 1660ti that has its wattage neutered to fit a laptop. So its kinda a desktop 1660ti but not really.

Just bought this, will be here Monday. Hopefully a decent buy!

How are you liking it? It’s on sale again and thinking about buying it

weekoo123

So far so good. Runs warm for sure, but it is an MSI laptop afterall. Runs COD MW just fine, and path of exile fine. Which is the two reasons I bought it. Other than that it boots super quick, like three seconds or so, pretty ridiculous. It's a pretty decent laptop for playing mid tier games

Losted12

Awesome, I actually just purchased one, had a $20 off code so threw that on there too. Have you upgraded anything on it? I’ve got a spare 500 gb SSD I might throw into it. Do you use a laptop cooling mat or anything to help with the heat?

weekoo123

I was thinking about getting one, but the cooler blaster in the built in app they have cools it down to about 55-60c, it generally runs about 85c max on CPU and 75-80c Max on gpu. I would definitely recommend getting a bigger SSD 1-1.5tb if you plan on using it for gaming. It is a laptop afterall, you can't get the same cooking capacity as a PC. I'm not super worried about it burning out because of the warranty I purchased for three years or whatever for accidents and stock parts failure

Looks interesting. It appears that it can hold two SSDs, but it can not hold any HDDs.
