Lack of communication is definetly the problem they are having now. Nothing, no separation, no external intervention, no weird stuff happening can resolve that. They just need to communicate where they are now psychologically.
**Internet cafe**
**Chizuru after rehearsals she's at city walking with thousands through a bright lit Tokyo. Then she stumbles upon an internet cafe.**
Chizuru:...
**Chizuru thought for a few minutes, then she decides to enter the internet cafe.**
Attendant: How long?
Chizuru: Open time please.
Attendant: Okay *hope this beautiful lady is not like those refugees in this shop*
**Chizuru is now sitting infront of the computer, then she goes to Google**
Chizuru: **typing** ...
**How to make resignation letter.**
**click click click**
"She's not here?"
**Chizuru's still continuing typing to compose a resignation letter she will pass to Diamond.**
Chizuru:...
"Mizuhara I have to tell you something important."
"Sorry"
**tear on her left eye.**
"I genuinely am Kazuya-san's girlfriend now."
"I can't fall in love with a client."
"When love takes root."
"I feel awful if I'm still a rental girlfriend while having a real relationship."
**Chizuru now sending the file to the attendant, asking for print.**
Attendant: Here you go. That will be 1200 yen please.
**Chizuru paid for the time and print then goes out of the cafe.**
Chizuru:...
**Chizuru can't remove the image of Kazuya inside her head while heading home.**
Chizuru: *I think I should take responsibility of what I did. I'm not a professional girlfriend.*
**end**
It has some realistic themes, although it also often undermines its own realism. Not talking about the enormous amount of coincidences, but more how over the top some characters at times behave. Like showing Ruka rolling on the floor like a toddler in public when Kazuya isn't free for a date, or how flustered Kazuya can get thinking about Mizuhara's cells. Then it's no different from other romcoms regarding realism, and becomes more slapstick almost.

Always was. Glad I won’t have to die on that hill alone
Seeing what Mini says becomes true, when are Kazuya and Chizuru going on a vacation to Hokkaido?
Mini is best girl. Let’s hope her words come true ❤️
Seriously just happy to see this is finally a bit more consensual around the community

Lack of communication is a main theme in this manga...
It’s a very realistic thing & that’s why I love this manga. It’s not a fairytale like other romcoms. Addresses real stuff.
It has some realistic themes, although it also often undermines its own realism. Not talking about the enormous amount of coincidences, but more how over the top some characters at times behave. To be fair, that’s the main theme in most romcoms.
Yeah, the classic misunderstanding, so that doesn't necessarily make it more realistic than other series.
