Brought home a 2021 e-pace for the wife
By - biggerfasterstrong
It's been about 2 months now and every time she gets in she gushes over how much she likes it.
The SE model was a must, because it included memory seats and [Pivi Pro](https://i.imgur.com/BrBCNMd.jpg) which includes complimentary on board and the [updated](https://i.imgur.com/5ouuFTo.jpg) dials. The two tone [caraway leather](https://i.imgur.com/QhBmRHX.jpg) interior has an excellent look and feel. And one option I thought I'd never use was the [ClearSight](https://i.imgur.com/fnNfUiL.jpg) rear view mirror. The heads up display is also great, but impossible to take a picture of. The [parking assist](https://i.imgur.com/S9kPFr1.mp4) is not flawless with stitching the cameras together, but still very functional. My wife insisted on the panoramic fixed glass moonroof, and always keeps the cover over it because it makes it to bright, despite being tinted.
The price is 5-10% more than a new ford or chevy similarly equipped, but the quality is considerably higher. Jaguar elite care takes care of all maintenance for the first 5 years, plus the 5 year warranty. Honestly, there's no reason they shouldn't sell a million of these.
Except the reason they won't sell a million of these. And that's that my local Jaguar dealer had one e-pace, and it was a base model. I searched every dealer within 250 miles of my house to get the options the wife wanted, which was not white, with caraway leather interior, SE model, and that was it. And there was exactly one, and we drove 200 miles to get it. The sales guy was concerned with setting up a test drive and all that. I said that wasn't necessary, we are here for that car, do up the paperwork.
Buddy!!!! I’m so glad you and your family are enjoying it. Have fun!!!
Very nice! You are a good husband! 😉 Yes, the hard part is finding the vehicle you want. I drove 4 hours one way to buy my wife's 2015 XJ. Jag makes beautiful cars, just not enough of them.
She had a fusion for 6 years but this area has evolved into suv country, where everyone around her was towering over her. She’s not a confident driver to begin with, and that didn’t help. So she wanted an suv. We went to the local Ford dealer and had a few test drives and she liked them but after factoring in awd, camera system, and a few other things, the price came to 45k. And that made me step back a bit and wonder what else we could get in the 45k ballpark. Basically every small suv ended up being about that price. Then I saw the e pace had just received a face lift, and it was like night and day compared to the 2020 model. We even had a 2020 discovery loaner during inspection and she hated everything about it when she compared it to her e-pace.
Glad to hear that she likes it. How is the charging? Do you do it primarily at home? Can you charge it at a Tesla recharging station?
It’s gas, so generally at the pump.
Lol. My bad, thinking the e pace was the electric Jag. Confused it with the I pace.
I couldn’t find the I pace anywhere to even look at, but it looks much lower like a car, and the wife wouldn’t have gone for that.
Did you look at Land Rovers?
Yes, there were some, but not many. The face lift in 2021 was what won her over. But she'll never need an inclinometer or any of that jazz. Plus she liked the look at the e-pace better.
But you know buddy, they are ALWAYS worth waiting for. I waited 4 years to get my XJ (I happened to know the gentleman who owned it, so the moment he called and said he wanted to sell, BOOM I was there). Best automotive decision of my life.
the epace is an excellent looking car
"For the wife"
My, my, the justifications are coming in nicely this year 😉🤣
It replaced her car, technically. I just tell her it came with a driver to drive her around!
You are a good hubby
I love this car and it looks particularly good in this blue but it looks so much better with a front number plate than it does naked. Without one it almost looks like it is yawning!
The front end looks way better with the fog lights. Without them it looks like it's missing something.
Nice trade! The best I could get for mine was a Subaru.
(Thank you! I'm here all night. Tip your waitress and try the veal!)
Haha. I get it now. Took a while though.
Looks really nice, mate!
I'm genuinely happy you are happy.
That said this is a Jag I just don't feel *looks* like a Jag. It's a mass market bland-mobile in my honest opinion, not that anyone asked for it.
The XKR is a nice machine, passed one on the road earlier today and slowed down for a look.
The SUV thing hasn't really gripped me, we have my XE and a Ford Galaxy (UK) as our 2 cars. The Galaxy is the family workhorse/missus' car (I'm trying to convince her to get an XJ but she keeps pointing out that the Galaxy is far more practical, I say practical shmactical) and I commute in/use for work the XE. We have no need of an SUV and I can't say I ever will, it's a non-car for me.

I will extend those so they're easier for our sausage fingers to click!
