I'm waiting for mine, I'll put on top a slickside, upper, with 10.5 Criterion Core, 10Inch Carbonfibre handguard. then dot+mag on top, probbaly on unity mounts, for reasonable height
I completely misunderstood the law, I read somewhere online you didn't have to get it engraved if it already had a manufacturers mark but obviously that was horribly incorrect. Does anyone know where I can get it engraved?
You signed the form that literally has all of the rules for engraving on it. It's also plastered all over the ATF website and FAQ, and folks in NFA or gun circles including on reddit talk about it all the time. You have no one to blame but yourself for missing that huge detail.
Regardless, there are lots of companies who do NFA engraving. Capitol Armory used to be popular, so was Tar Heel State firearms. I'm not sure who the flavor of the month is nowadays. If you google around your local area there are often trophy stores and sometimes machine shops who do one-off NFA engraving on the side. It's usually not too difficult to find someone to do it.
I mean no reason to be an asshole about it dude, it's a lot to keep track of because the ATF makes it as complicated as possible and it's my first time doing it. I appreciate the feedback from everyone though
There should be somebody local that can do it for you, no need to send it away. They recommend laser engraving. Now as for where, I'm not sure. Maybe you can put it on the inside of the flare of the magwell, where it can still be seen even with a mag inside?
I was thinking just on the right side of the magwell, I don't really care how it looks as long as they don't fuck it up. There's a trophy/award shop in my town that can laser engrave, I just hope they're fine with doing guns
I built a lightweight 12.5" with mine, though it has been parted out: [https://imgur.com/a/BM7OWwY](https://imgur.com/a/BM7OWwY)
Was about 7.5lbs unloaded with optic, suppressor, light, and sling.
Smoke Composites like the other person said. My favorite of the carbon fiber handguards I've used.
Hardware is great, and while you give up on MLOK slots compared to the octagonal ones a lot of company sells, they feel better in hand to me.

Not like he couldn't get another upper in a dozen other calibers

Where do yall engrave your lowers? I've never had a plastic lower engraved. Do they hold up to laser engraving?
Engrave? I haven't engraved this one
Better look into that 😂
Whoops

It's plastic, just buy some punches on Amazon and do it yourself

I've been having naughty thoughts of grabbing one and a shorty 10.5" BRN-180 upper. Throw some woodland camo paint on it for a little retro flair.
