You talk about meat quality. Little to no testosterone in a young doe, is much better tasting.
And better for the population, leaving those smart older doe to teach the young when and where to be afraid.
Big doe run those bucks ragged during the rut and they eat a lot. I shoot the biggest doe I can find and have never had one I thought was off, or too tough from age. Probably shoot five large adult doe for every buck I take.
shoot one eater doe each season so that you can be selective in taking a shooter buck. problem solved.
I like eating deer meat. Anyone got a recipe for antlers?
Grind them up and spread in the garden.
