I'm by no means an expert, but what are you wanting to use the team for? If you are just doing story anything will work. If you are talking about other content, you will need to tailor your team a bit more to the content. That said, you are currently missing a tank.

Yeah for wandering around the story and the basic farming stuff, you can pretty much use any team and what you have sounds just fine. When you start tackling SU, you will probably want to run a tank (gepard or Fire MC). You can also use Clara as she can act as a prototank. 4* Elemental DMG sphere, or 5* Attack sphere, which is generally better when forced to choose between the two?

So im using Jing Juan with Bronya. Bronya can advance someonce action but heres my problem. Jing would be next in Line anyways, the DMG buff is neat but it feels kinda wasted to use her skill. There are the same number of 4\* light cones for each path. Quid Pro Quo is the Forgotten Halls shop one, and Warm Shortens Cold Nights is the battlepass one, but there are also Perfect Timing (effect res bonus, plus a healing bonus based on effect resist), Post-Op Conversation (Energy regen +8% and increased ult heals), and Shared Feeling (healing bonus and using your skill grants +2 energy to all allies). They're only on banners, though, so who knows when you'll ever see them. Of the 3-stars, I think Cornucopia is the most productive choice since it makes sure she does her job well, but if she's already doing enough healing, Multiplication lets her get you a few more skill points in a long battle.

For day to day farming Tingyun is better because she gives a huge chunk of energy and she buffs rather than debuff a single target. SW is a MoC-orientated boss killing support.

I just wanted to add in and say that Dan Heng is very good, especially with Bronya who can proc his talent consistently. You probably have some eidolons too if you have Silver Wolf. Dan Heng's is really only outdone by Yanqing and Seele, so if you feel like he's bad its truthfully a relic or trace issue not a character one. Get some good relics and he will be very strong

Dan Heng is your only sane option, you just have a gearing problem. Your next best option is QQ, but QQ and Bronya are not particularly ideal as a combo, as QQ needs a few tiles to work with. Aside from that, youd be looking at seele on her rerun or hoping to lose a 50/50 to Yanqing

You've probably figured this out by now, since this post was earlier in the week, but Blade is a 5-star wind destruction who was in the pre-release CBT and has been drip-marketed on official social media, which is a safe indication that he and Kafka are the 5-stars for 1.2 (the next major patch version, in late July).

I looked into him, but his kit seemed to revolve around taking damage, and I'm running Gepard

Blade kit doesn't revolve around him taking damage from enemies, based on what was tested in the pre-launch Star Rail beta (CBT) it revolves around him consuming his own HP. He does have self-healing, but generally you'd want to avoid Blade taking hits (and Blade also has higher aggro modifier due to being Destruction). Gepard can just shield Blade and let him play games with his health. So Blade can burn himself down to 1 HP and potentially stay at 1 HP for multiple rounds. The fact Gepard prevents Blade from getting hit by enemies is an asset, not a problem. But this is all theoretical until we see the final release Blade, of course. Blade's also the only unreleased DPS we have a timeline on that fits your perimeters, since Kafka is even worse for you. But by the time Blade's banner comes round, they'd likely be drip marketing the next couple of 5-stars, so perhaps you can decide then whether you have interest in him or wanna hold out. We'd have a better sense at that point.

I should add that the only other 5* I have is Clara and she seems very counterintuitive with Gepard

Yeah they don't work together otherwise for normal story this will work and for MoC you can take SW and build a phys team with Clara,sw,Nat and sushang which works out pretty nicely

You might be failing to upgrade your characters properly.

It gets better as you level up and upgrade your light cone/relics, but for poorly geared characters, yes it seems normal.

Right now I have characters around Level 40, and Level 42 enemies in the Space Colony for example hits me for like 300 damage when I have about just under 1000 HP. Light Cones are Level 20, relics I only have 3-star so I don't level them much since I don't know where to grind the upgrade materials

like the other guy says, you need to upgrade your light cones, they're just as important as character levels. upgrade materials for relics are other relics, at this point you mostly use stuff you get for free.

Yeah, you definitely want to be leveling up your light cones a bit more, as they add a significant amount of HP and DEF.

I wouldn't invest too much in the 3 star ones - maybe just up until level 30. That should get you by until you get 4 star ones.

It goes from around a ~5% chance at EQ4 to around a ~15% chance at EQ5 per 10 stamina.

1 pull a week from SU. 0.5 pulls a week if you use Herta bond. 5 pulls per 6 week battle pass. 5 pulls from the monthly shop for embers. Averages 12.33 pulls a month and if using Herta Bond +2. There are also one-time sources like pom-pom rewards of +4 at EQ5 and EQ6 if you haven't got there yet. Ascending characters can give up to 3 each. You'll get there in just under a year.

You also get pulls from weekly SU, ascending characters, and the BP. It will certainly take time to get to it unless you spend Jade on the banner, but for a guaranteed 5\* of my choice (that is independent of pity) I can accept it.

I made a big mistake. I was at 60 pity so I spent 15 pulls using Stellar Jades hoping to get Gepard/Bailu (because I don't really want Luocha if I can get them before him) but I ended up getting Clara's LC. I don't have Clara. After I did that I just spent my pulls on SW banner. I have SW. I managed to get Himeko early so now I'm guaranteed. But after checking I can only reach 60 pity by the end of Luocha banner. Is Blade/Kafka guaranteed a good thing? My only dps are Seele and Yanqing. Yanqing damage is good enough for me though. When will we know who the next banners are?

The only other announced character is Fu Xuan, who's been added to the wiki. She'll be a very strong option to pull for your seele SW team even if she ends up not able to solo support. All announced so far for her is she's quantum and preservation

This statgoal is for non crit weapons,so yes this is pretty much the endgoal for majority of nonhunt character.A not that hard to reach statgoal atm is 134 speed for most characters because this will let character mive twice in the first turn of MoC

Okay, I’m currently building relics for my Seele and I currently have her at 2280 ATK, 146 SPD, 57.9% Crit Rate, 122.2% Crit DMG, and 35.6% Break Effect, and 48.8% Quantum%. That’s with all 5 stars except a chain. Basically debating if this is good enough or if I need to farm her relics more.

It's good I guess you have speedboots you would need to look if that is enough for 162? Speed with her buffs because otherwise you waste stats and could instead use atk boots. For the critstats if you use swordplay It's good for other lc that grant critrate you could push further,but for now I would say move on and come back later

Yes you can if you have atk boots with okayish substats I might use them instead though because Seele barely needs added speed to hit the mark of 134 due to the speedbuff on her skill so you might want to just swap there otherwise seems neat atm,but definetly has room for improvement

I went abundance. Get the the upgrade where your resonance gets added to the bar as a regular action and the upgrade where your resonance cleanses all debuffs and gives a buff to resist the next debuff. Put it on auto, get make yourself a snack.

Yeah, Max Abundance is usually a pretty easy Kafka clear.

Abundance path + Subduing evils resonance + repeat healing resonance + turn on auto and afk

It auto heals and cleanses you periodically without having to activate the path ability again if you have both those resonances.

Team building: So I've got a pretty good team going (DPS - Jing Yuna, Sushang, Yanqing, with Bronya, Natasha and Fire MC.) Need some advice on whether to roll for Silver Wolf or Luocha. I'm F2P + Welkin/Battle Pass. I like both characters: I don't have Bailu/Gepard, so Luocha feels like the play. Plus, he has dispel and seems to be capable of damage, overall, probably going to stay relevant for a while. However, Silver Wolf seems to be a pretty strong character with a unique ability. I also have Seele and their combination is supposedly bonkers good. She also seems to be 'future-proof' since her value only goes up as your account gains more characters to build teams with. Finally, her E1/E2 (which I'm not planning on getting now) are insane so it helps to get a copy now. Unfortunately, I also don't have an account that can fully leverage her _right now_. Anyone wanna tie break for me?

There will probably be another 4* healer released eventually which you can pull. But no one will be able to do what SW can do for a very long time. However, in terms of MoC clearing either one would help your team equally, especially since you don’t have another healer. Personally I would recommend pulling who you like the most character wise not meta wise, or based on which 4* eidolons you want the most.

Pull SW, Fu Xuan is coming soon so save for her after. That gets you 3/4 of the way to mono quantum that will end up being Selles most convenient team and exceptionally strong. Ideally fu can fill a Gepard style role and negate the need for a second healer in MoC, but if she's more akin to FMC where it's dicey I'm sure another healer is coming sooner rather than later.

Great points here, forgot that Fu Xuan is next and is a 5* preservation. I have SW guaranteed within 1 or 2 ten pulls, and I have enough to go for a 50/50 on Luocha afterwards. I'm curious if you think it would be better to pull for SW, and then keep saving until Fu, instead of trying for Luocha afterwards. Perhaps hard to tell who is going to help more without seeing their kits and people actually playing them.

If I didn't need QQ eidelons desperately I would personally be skipping louchas banner and saving for Fu. I'd check and see how a squishy Loucha is faring in MoC after his release. On paper he seems like a straight upgrade over Natasha even should you solo run Fu in a quantum team, in practice maybe he's too prone to getting one shot who knows.

You will get about 1200 from daily/weekly. 500 from one more event. 240 from new simulated universe difficulties. So about 12 pulls. Level rewards will probably give more.

Although hard pity is at 90, I have never once in my genshin history since lauch heard of someone actually needing to hit it. Soft pity starts at 74, so you can expect to get her within your next few pulls since you're already guaranteed.

Must be the unluckiest player out there to go to 88. There's enough out there though because you have 2 weeks of SU+dailies, new SU first clear rewards, a small event starting in 5 days, and then whatever jade you can get from MoC from this cycle and next cycle. Since you will be lv80 cap I'd imagine at least 15* worth.

Question about traces/relics. So as of now, I have around 9 characters who are level 60, with a LC at 60, and all traces at level 6 (excluding Basic Attack which is capped at level 4 at level 60). What is a good trace level to consider okay enough to pursue Relics? At the moment, I'm Trail Blazer level 52, just building everyone since everyone is so fun. And I know the next big power spike is getting relics for my team, it's just a big mountain of RNG that I didn't want to mess with for a while. This is my first experience with Games, be it Gacha or standard game that has so much RNG on gear. So it's a little intimidating checking all these stats.

Your traces are ok now. Maybe get skill, ultimate traces of your main dps to level 7 and then farm relics for them. Edit: you should get your main dps and their lc to 70 first.

It really depends on the character for example for Seele pushing ult+skill to 8 seems well worth it while others like pela don't need that much of an investment,just for comparison I did actually farm relics in the fifty range for 5 days and I believe 15 fuel I got 2 workable but not breathtakingly good quantum sets and from musketeer just trash besides 2 mainstat speedboots take that how you want as info

I think even as an ult bot shock refresher more of her damage will come from direct damage than shock damage.

Who should I build after I built my DPS: Damage buffer (Bronya, Tingyun) or Debuffer (Welt, Silver Wolf)?

Level and traces for all of them over a week or whatever, but for actually farming relics I'd get SW her quantum set first. The off pieces there are less miserable than the fire pieces that pair with welt, and the aurumton in that domain is annoying to boot.

As bronya want critdmg it's a steep early investment,SW could be nice as every trace lvl decreases the needed eff rate,same goes for Welt I believe,as for tingyun I would say rather invest in her attack stat with relics you get along the way which should be a bigger increase then 1 or 2 tracelvl

40% from event 4-star LC + 43.2% from main stat from +15 5-star body relic + 18% from traces (last one requires lvl 75).

Her traces give 18%. The event lc gives 40%. Get an ehr body for her and you can easily have more than 96%

You just need chest piece, her traces and her free LC.

Hi. So I'm gonna pull for a character who I can't mention, but it's only a few patches ahead. I'm quite a newbie, and I lost my 5050 on my character banner. Is there anybody I should pull for as a newbie in the foreseeable future? Or should I just save?

Both SW and Loucha have high value. SW will scale over time, and be more valuable on reruns than now. Loucha immediately makes 2 MoC teams easier, and the current MoC was designed around wanting to sell him for his ult. Loucha arguably might lose value over time. Blade and Kafka are easy skips for me, they're just more DPS units in a game swimming with them. Fu Xuan is high value if you pull SW, but otherwise we don't know enough to say more.

How high should I level up my traces?

I think most people say level 6-7 is a good temporary stop. Keep in mind that different units will have different priorities, i.e., some barely require normal attack, others want mostly ultimate and skill, and others the priority will be ultimate and talent, etc. Obviously there is no harm in maxing your traces, other than resources, but you probably get more out of a unit by farming Relics first than levelling traces past level 7.

Honkai Star Rail wiki is quite informative. You can search Simulated Universe and find the world tab for info. For locations? Fight > Choose > Choose > Elite > **REST** \> Fight > Choose > Elite > **REST** \> Random > Choose > **REST** \> Then, Final Boss. Rest has downloader and reviver and also Herta. For clear and concise, I have no idea. Most normal enemies should be fine even if you don't have type advantage though. Possible Elite Enemy also shows up before you start too.

The downloader is always in the Respite Domains that are just after each of the 2 Elite domains and just prior to the final boss. Remember that the downloader only allows you to add a single character to let you make a single adjustment to your team.

Yes, they should carry you through most, if not of all of the content. You might not need Fire MC in team 2, plus Sushang E6 is very skill point neutral, so you could conceivably have another DPS such as Dan Heng, or defense shred with Pela.

So let's say I have SW and Seele. I want the former to play before the latter, but Seele has a better base speed (I think so). So if they have both Speed boots, I need really better speed subs on SW ? Or is there a thing that I forgot ?

Seele really doesnt need speed boots. So you only need to get a spd boots for SW or you can level one to +15 and the other at lower

how well does march 7 perform in higher MoC.? Don't have Bailu or Gepard and i think that building her with DEF, ER and EHR for freeze might help? so many AOE enemy attacks this MoC

Unless you'll get Luocha she is absolutely necessary to make any significant progress in moc. And even if you do get him, she is still really useful. Her shield is ideal when enemies lock on to one character, but can also be used to increase aggro of you DPS (or any other character) to get their ult up faster. I found her freeze to still be a bit inconsistent, but getting her a3 + some EHR body and substats should help. So far I managed to clear moc 6 (7 last cycle) with her on one side with either Pela (against ice weak enemies) or fire MC. Once I'm TL 60 and can properly gear everyone I could totally see her being enough to clear moc without Gepard/2nd healer.

Character strength will wax and wane depending on the various MoC rotations, but March is a pretty safe bet currently do to how cheap/easy it is to gear/build her and the strength of her combo shield+aggro boost. Building some speed on her isn't a bad idea, in order to ensure she's able to keep shields up when needed.

I died 3x I think. Lol. You just restart the whole quest dialogue starting from when you're about to climb that hill. It's annoying coz it took me like 20-30min the whole fight then you have to do it again.

Does Silver Wolf's Event LC trigger Energy Passive on her own Ult? Because if I remember correctly the Ult reduces defense first and then deals damage right? So does her Ult trigger Passive? (Which means energy refund the same turn Ult is Used?)

Kinda new to games like this. Question about the odds for pulls. For the event it says every 90 pulls I'm guaranteed a 5 star. Is that independent of any 5 stars I roll before that? For example say I rolled a 5 star on roll 70, am I still guaranteed a 5 star in 20 rolls (on 90), Or was the guarantee "used up" by getting a 5 star earlier?

Everytime you get a 5 star, the pity count is reset. So if you get a 5\* at pull 89, you are not guaranteed to get one at pull 90. The special banner and standard banner have separate pity counts

Content drought is real. Any idea when more stories will actually be released? 2.0??

There are 3 characters stories quest coming in 3 week.
