Just click the little icon in the circle on the left side of the button instead of the rest of the button. I agree that it’s not that intuitive, but at least it works but you must train yourself to do it ;)
This one confused me at first too but once I figured it out I kind of like it. I don’t have to long press anymore to access a dimmer. The focus mode switcher works this way too. Click the icon and it switches focus modes. Click on the right side of the focus mode and you get the details. I bet this UI experience will make its way all over ios going forward.

Did they really think the long press was too complicated
I’m beginning to suspect that like 3D Touch before it, some people don’t realize long press is a thing.
I bet you’re right. I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to edit the Home Screen on someone’s iPhone 8 as I’ve kept up with the newest.
thanks!!!
>thanks!!! You're welcome!

Leave feedback about the bad experience. It’s a beta, that’s what it’s for.
It’s not a bad experience, it’s just a different experience. You can access the switch and dimmer with a single tap now.
I miss 3D Touch so this feels backwards to me.
I miss 3D Touch too because it didn’t take additional time to use.
