I had a lot of fun with the pantheons another thing is it allows you to fight a lot of enemies you couldn’t fight in the base game like the nailmasters and the hollow knight when he isn’t a rotting corpse and then p5 adds a bunch of changes to all of the fights and some new ones too so I would def check them out. It is pretty difficult tho especially markoth in p5 fuck that guy

Laheydrunkfuck

My favourite fight is in pantheon 5. Absolutely worth it

ThunderSmurf48

Is it sisters of battle? Because that's my favourite fight

Laheydrunkfuck

Yes it is. Probably my favourite fight in any game ive ever played

ThunderSmurf48

First time I got to that fight, I got my ass kicked but I had the biggest smile on my face to while time. One of my favourite boss fights from any game too

I poured more hours into Godhome than the base game. To me, those challenges are the main part of HK now. Very minor spoilers: >!content wise, you'll meet a handful of new bosses, and a few more that are so heavily tweaked that they feel like whole new battles. !

DaSoulIsGood

Dream soul master sucked. Absolutely despised brooding mawlerk. Nkg is definitely hardest though. Oddly enough, it’s also my favourite. Sometimes I go into Godhome and beat him again just for the fun of it. Also even tho u didn’t ask, easily the easiest fight in the game was the Hollow Knight. Kid you not I didn’t even try to dodge or learn a single one of his attacks the whole fight, u can literally just face tank the hits and nail spam until hornet intervenes, hell I’m pretty sure I could quite literally do it with my eyes closed. I’d be disappointed if it didn’t make sense lore-wise and another boss didn’t come directly after it.

DaSoulIsGood

But were u asking about harder fights I’ve had in other games?

nusco

Aah, yes, I was. Now I understand you were talking about other fights in the same game. It does surprise me that you found Soul Tyrant harder than Radiant, but to each their own. About the Hollow Knight, one more small spoiler (that you might already know): yes, that fight is easy, for lore reasons, as you say.>!But if you keep playing, then be aware that he's not done with you. Next time, it will be as hard as you expected the first time–and then some.!< If you need help with Soul Tyrant in the Hall of Gods, check out [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/HollowKnight/comments/nlunkk/tips_for_radiant_soul_tyrant/).

DaSoulIsGood

Well I mean I’ve faced a ton of harder fights then radiance in other games too. Pretty much every single boss in dark souls 2 was harder. Oh and when I say harder, just know I don’t mean better. Most of the bosses were harder for bs reasons. Owl father and sword saint Isshin in sekiro was harder. Abrietas, Maria, and Orphan of Kos from bloodborne were definitely harder. Four kings and Ornstein and Smough from dark souls 1 were crazy difficult. Dark Eater Midir, Sister Friede, and Slave Knight Gael from dark souls 3 were harder. That’s pretty much it though off the top of my head.

Handsome_Claptrap

I just beat Tyrant and i think I know how it could be hard for some people. >!I failed multiple times at first because I kept chasing him, this makes it very hard to dodge his attacks. On the other hand, it's way easier if you take it slow and wait for him do the attacks where he just comes at you horizontally, his projectiles are fairly easy to dodge if you just sit at the side of the arena and jump at the right times.!<

nusco

Yes, the fight is all about depriving you of opportunities to hit. That, and the fact that >!the second phase is completely different from the first, and you don't get many opportunities to practice it until you're really good at the first!<.

simonthedlgger

Pantheons are really fun if you like boss combat. I sure do, though I’ve never had any interest in 5.

EpikSalad

Yes, I do think they are worth it. I feel like one of the biggest parts of Hollow Knight (or any difficult game like Dark Souls, say) is the overcoming of a challenge that seemed impossible initially. The pantheons take that to the extreme and it becomes more obvious than ever as to how much better you've become (the same can be said of Steel Soul but I only did that like a year after beating the game for the first time so it wouldn't be too repetitive). As an example, I found Watcher Knights incredibly difficult on my first playthrough and I must have died like at least 15 times to them. Now on the other hand, they're basically pushovers and I think of them as a free soul refill for subsequent bosses. The same can be said of Brooding Mawlek, Hornet 2, Soul Master/Tyrant, Collector, Galien, and just about every boss I found difficult in the main game (with the one exception being Markoth, fuck them). The new bosses are very cool too imo and some of the best bosses can only be accessed through the pantheons. I haven't beat the final pantheon yet since I got slightly burnt out, but I feel like the other pantheons are not as hard as many people make them out to be -- I don't think I took over 5-10 tries for any of the first 4. The main thing that gets rid of the monotony of having to go through the entire pantheon imo is that if you encounter a boss once, you can practice their fight immediately in the Hall of Gods without having to go through anything. Once you get reasonably consistent at beating them, you can give the main pantheon a go, and it then doesn't take too many attempts. Hunter's Journal on the other hand doesn't offer much new, and is probably better skipped -- the only reason I did it is for the Steam achievement and it was boring as heck.

I love godhome the pantheons are fun. And you can just fight select bosses one on one with selected difficulty
