Check transmission fluid level
That’s what I’m hoping, there’s a bit on the box so I’m hoping that’s it. Annoying there’s no stick to check or add
Google it there should be a plug at the correct level
It’s at the mechanics now, had to get a car trailer and pick it up. I was curious how to diagnose it in the future though. It’s the first auto car I’ve owned so anything related to the auto trans is pretty foreign to me
540LE?
You mean 5 speed auto? Yeah I only bought it recently and haven’t had a commodore in over 10 years so the part numbers don’t mean much to me yet
For all those wondering, the gearbox is minced, consensus is it’s metal blocking the filter and stopping the oil flow, box reverts to neutral.
Is it a 5 speed
Yeah
I'm looking for a ve wagon and avoiding 5 speeds as they are known to die they're Holdens in between experiment that failed.
I would go that far… I got 300k kms out of it. It’s the working fine and simply imploding that’s annoying
