Tuna gets it.
honestly the nicest moment of the game. I missed the opening face-off but would like to see slaf and Tatar at it. Very telling about Tatar that he wasn't traded, and that several members of staff wanted to see him. Budaj had Ned Flanders on his mask because he was considered to basically be the nicest guy when he was on the avalanche... I am very much hoping I can visit Slovakia one day if this is the type of person they make
Many of us are fucking morons, but you are most welcome to come, hit me up and i’ll be happy to show you Bratislava around
Wait, so how are many Slovakians “fucking morons?” 😅
Just the ones with their dogs in a 7x7 cage in front of their homes. The rest are lovely. Spent a lot of time there (for an American, anyway). Loved it.
Because they’re human!

From my brief experience meeting a bunch of the team for a work thing, Tatar was hands down the nicest guy. He took time to have a real conversation with me about Slovakia (I had travelled through it recently) and politely asked me to use his phone to take photos of him during the event.
741 NHL games vs 0 NHL games. Very nice to see the comradery.
Tatar is a guy with such a big heart. At last World Championship he was something like a personal mentor for Slafkovsky, giving him tips and showing him the ropes.
Big respect for the guy, very down to Earth and kind.
Lol I can hear from pic that "Ta ako? , Ta dobre hej. " Hehe.
What does it mean?
Something like: How are you? I am fine. But it was said in a eastern dialect thats why its funny.
Think of it as two close friends speaking english but uses Alabama accent and slang.
Thank you :)
There is a guy with that chant at the Vancouver habs meetups.
I was disappointed to realise the Devils hadn’t brought Nemec. Would’ve been a nice gesture to play him.
Hoffman for Tatar, 1 for 1.
Same cap hit.
Hoffman has one more year on his contract though…. I’d pay extra to balance that out.
I think back to all the great Slovakians we've had on our team in the past decade or so: Halak (yes I know that was 2010, but close enough), Tatar, Budaj, and now Slafkovsky and Mesar, and I can't help but smile :')
Also Richard Zednik, but it is history 2000/2001-2005/2006. And Marcel Hossa 2001/2002-2003/2004, but Marcel was always between NHL and AHL.
It’s always cool to see the older guys from the “smaller” hockey countries (I realize Slovakia is hockey crazy but I’m referring to the sheer amount of nhlers) take the younger guys under the wing so to speak, even when they’re on separate teams.
I think we all knew Tuna was a great guy from his time here, but moments like these really show you his character. I’ll always love the guy
He’s UFA next season, why not
We have no place for him in the lineup
A lot can change in a season...
I would start worrying about our future if we don't have any prospect making the jump next year.
A fellow Slovakian teammate and mentor and former Habs player to help your first overall 18 year old potential star isn’t a bad idea at all.
This makes wish Tuna was still in Montreal.
I have been to several countries. Slovaks have consistently been remarkably decent, kind, and chill.
This is beautiful. I love and miss Tuna Tartare.
Man, I loved Tatar on the habs
