Rapids fan here, every game the supporters group (C38) designs and paints a new paddle to go to the MotM. There’s some pretty great designs they come up with, I believe yesterday’s was a shark. The paddle is always in the starting line up photo [too](https://twitter.com/coloradorapids/status/1525566796199170048?s=21&t=RbGCve9zk9kSFECf4V_wfg)
Oh yeah. Wenger eventually had to take the team on these marketing tours, but he used to head up to the mountains and lock them away for a month.
Always thought the Denver connection was the perfect opportunity for a middle ground.
That’s a really fun tradition to get going. For all the “fight and win” American supporter stereotypes, there are some genuinely really cool and unique things like that happening in MLS
We signed a CB from the US and loaned them back for the season. Not a great deal of fanfare over the deal, looks to be a fairly low stakes play from the club as he was only £1.8m. Left footed, good with the ball and fairly good physically.
r/gunners is slanted towards the US fan base so you hear more about this guy and Matt Turner here than you will on twitter or anywhere else.
is it not a Kaiser university situation where it’s one of those barely schools that sits just above the threshold for having their certification revoked?
I have no idea tbh. I just hope these folks are getting a degree they can use after their playing career. I don’t think it is as bad as for profit school or scam
They’re the official parter of MLS, I believe the players get free tuition or something. SNHU is an online university so it largely caters to people pursuing degrees while working other jobs.
Good to meet ya!!! Join our birmingham supporters group. Birmingham Gooners and the plan is to meet for rojo for our usual watch party for the last game of the season!!
This reminds me of when Arsene Wenger signed Junichi Inamoto, Ryo Miayichi and South Korean Park Chu Young for the clout in Asia. Are these guys going to play for Arsenal, or just be USA hype for the next summer tours?
This dude could absolutely line up in a back 3 formation in cup ties for us. His distribution is VERY good. He steps in pretty aggressively, which can get him caught out at times, but with a pace merchant like Tavares and an extra central defender, he could gain very valuable game time for us while on rotation. He's very low risk and if he has a great attitude in the locker room, I don't see why he can't stay on for us. Personally, he makes my 25-man roster for next season as 5th choice CB behind Benny, Gabi, Willy, and Holdini.

Albeit, he plays in the MLS, but we're also getting a second string GK from the MLS, so there's talent to be found. The high bar in the MLS is a squad player in the Prem. Simple.
Trusty the process
The LeBron James of soccer
LeBron has never been to a college class. Trusty >>
I keep forgetting we have this guy. Which is probably for the better because he'll likely never play for us
Good luck to him at Huddersfield
How can you forget our ONLY January signing......
\*Matt Turner
Made a fantastic save on a free kick just about an hour ago. Looking forward to seeing him underwhelm in a Carabao Cup match in the fall.
He's loaned out to Colorado Rapids, in case you're wondering why he's in a Villa shirt
Does MoM for the Rapids get a paddle? That's hilarious.

Huh, fun stuff. I like it!
That’s a really cool tradition
That's great. A Kroenke team too yeah? I always hoped Arsenal would start training there in the off season like they used to in Austria.
Arsenal used to train in Austria? I guess it would make sense with the altitude.

lol do they get an oar for motm? thats cool
Congratulations 👏🎉
Who?
A centre back we signed in January

Why aren't we lining up with Trusty - Saliba vs Newcastle, that's what i want to know.
Mikel doesn't trusty the process /s
But he is an American player that is coming in without the usual "hype" that generally fizzle's out. Thus, he will obviously be the modern Tony Adams.
What hype does this guy have?
Honestly, this is the first time I've heard that we signed this guy.
SNHU alumni and football hall of famer Auston Trusty
I think SNHU has to have a link to MLS and USL. Bham legion just had a few dudes graduate from there too. Great for them
is it not a Kaiser university situation where it’s one of those barely schools that sits just above the threshold for having their certification revoked?
SNHU us private, non-profit, regionally accredited, and seems generally well regarded according to its Wikipedia page.

That’s awesome. Thanks for confirming. That’s fantastic for these guys to have a flexible schedule and help provide them future financial stability
Another legion/arsenal fan?! Glad to know I’m not the only one

He’s not actually that bad. The PL is going to be a huge step up for him so he’s probably on loan at a championship club next year.
Idk if you remember that’s the plan for him. If he ever plays for us I’ll be surprised.
I reckon he’s gonna be the new Mavrapanos in that he’ll just be eternally loaned out seeing as Mavra is being sold.
At least Mavropanos actually played for us
Honestly forgot about him being transferred until they were on Univision in the US yesterday against LAFC.
I once had a dog called Trusty. I'm never going to be able to take this guy seriously

Now I am confused as to how he got MOTM, then............
Hey I do IT for that university
This guy and the american goalkeeper people say we signed in january… nothing is official?? Why did Arsenal not confirm these signings? :)
Arsenal did officially [confirm](https://www.arsenal.com/news/trusty-signs-club-remains-loan) the Trusty signing.
Haha Thanks! But what about the keeper?
It's gonna be finalized in the summer transfer afaik
Sideman signings, the club knows the mood
Trusty the future of arsenal
I forgot we bought him, he plays in defence right
Southern New Hampshire University, not impressed.
What Uni did you go to? Hope it’s Oxford or Cambridge
For real though, it's a diploma mill on the level of University of Phoenix
Emory University, the Harvard of the South!
Not impressed. What did you study?
Judging by their username, a PhD in something
This reminds me of when Arsene Wenger signed Junichi Inamoto, Ryo Miayichi and South Korean Park Chu Young for the clout in Asia. Are these guys going to play for Arsenal, or just be USA hype for the next summer tours?
matt turner does have enough quality to be #2, not sure about trusty though
Hope so. Can’t be worst than Rúnar Rúnarsson.
