How you wanna pay up??
what are these reports about Saliba's contract demands and Arsenal are willing to sell. just stfu man and give me some good news for ones
Link?
where did the report that esr was training as a midfielder come from? legit legit source?
Arteta said they had been playing him as an 8 in training during a pre-match conference IIRC, it was a while back.
Idk about that, but based on him coming in for ode during the wolves game, i do feel that he will be an 8
Liverpool playing like prime-Real against us at Anfield, only to draw then finish 5th will always be hilarious to me.
They played good for 45 minutes and we spurned a lot of good counters. That last pass still stings.
Zinchenko getting nutmeged+The last pass killed our season.
I still dislike getting too angry at Zinchenko that match because I think it was literally his best defensive performance before that moment.
I think his best defensive game was United. And I’m more upset with Arteta than Zinchenko, for not replacing him earlier. He was clearly getting tired as the match progressed since he was constantly moving forward. Zinny also allowed Henderson space to knick in to Salah. Atleast Gabby was holding Salah whereas Zinny just left his man free.
I think they are laughing at us capitulating which torpoedoed our momentum and led to a dreadful run of 3 draws, dropping 6 points, which then cost us the title.
I’ll never forgive those clowns for wanting City to win the title. They are officially a rival along with Sp^rs, United and Chelsea……City’s just a competitive rival.
How do I watch old Arsenal games? I want to watch the Invincibles but there doesn't seem a way to watch all of the games? I feel like when I had ArsenalTV back in 2009 they had a huge database of games. I miss those times...
footballia.eu has a lot of games from the past.
We really need to get caicedo before Todd boehly throws 100m
I wouldn’t worry much about Chelshit in this case. Caicedo seems to be attracted to europe/CL football rather than the money itself. I guess our competition here is mainly City and maybe Liverpool.
Do you guys actually look to see what other club’s situations are like before making these kinds of statements?
Yes. Enzo is a very good player, but there's a big flaw in their midfield, especially considering pochettinos system. If they get caicedo, that flaw is fixed almost perfectly. Chelsea's situation is that they have a sugar daddy owner who spent 600m already, and won't mind spending another 200m
They are much closer to Ugarte than Caicedo.
What do you mean? Chelsea have to sell before they buy. So OP ain't wrong in saying we gotta be fast.
They are close to selling Pulisic and Ruben Loftus Cheek already. Adding Mount to that mix, and Kante leaving on a free.
this is just chelsea propoganda they never had to sell before they buy and they dont have to now
They have to sell to the PL before their year end accounts are finished, the athletic has covered this in depth.
let’s wait to actually see it, because I don’t believe it
Exactly. That with the fact that they’re heavily linked Ugarte and want a new ST means they’re probably not bidding 100m anytime soon.
ESR staying and Nelson extended, money is being saved for some premium A5 Wagyu BBQ
Who’s your wagyu signing?
Ricedo and a side of fresneda with spicy diaby sauce
Simakan, Caicedo with a side of Fried Rice
Am I the only person who genuinely believes that Tierney can be a world class player under the correct system and coaching, in a club like Newcastle? I think the impact he can have there could be like another Trippier.
I could see him going to Real to compete with Mendy tbh. But I guess the weather would be too hot for him there so he’ll go to the toons
I seriously doubt he's leaving England. He already said that he's experienced homesickness in London, a city that is fairly close to his home nation. So Newcastle seems like his likeliest destination considering how close it is to Scotland
Yep, More snow in Newcastle too !
I don’t think he will reach that potential with his injury record. You need to play consistently week in week out to be great let alone to be a world class.
Neymar, KDB, Haaland, Dembele, Kante, Coman and so on are all notoriously injury prone and are universally considered world class.
Half of them are already world class before they are injury prone. From Decent + Injury prone to world class is a difficult route. May be RVP is one.
I don't think Dembele was considered world class before his Barcelona transfer
He was. It’s not his performances at Barca that have made him world class. He was already world class at Dortmund, that’s why they paid £130m for him.
He’s a a solid defender for a fullback but nothing special, definitely not as good as Walker. Definitely not as fast as Davies . His technical ability is extremely limited probably the weakest part of his game but it’s extremely average. His ability to get past his marker and get a cross in when overlapping is pretty good although he crosses more to the area rather than to a target, his crossing is no where near on the level of a Trent, or Cancelo. At the right club where he’s not expected to do much on the ball and he can cross to a target man he’d fit well but definitely wouldn’t be world class. He’s a solid all rounder who’s good as a traditional fullback.
I think he can be very good, but world class is a stretch. He just isn't as good technically as Cancelo or anywhere near as physically gifted as Davies. There just isn't a world where he could close the gap to what those players are at their best, so I struggle to consider him possibly world class when he just won't be at the level of the best at his position. Trippier isn't world class either.
U are 100% correct.
Definitely not world class. He’d also only play 25 matches.
Our starting LB and DM get world class shouts and they're regulars to the NHS lol.
You’re helping my point. Maybe if they were available to play on that level week in and out they would actually be deemed world class in football and not just have shouts from our own fans.
In the right system, he absolutely has that potential imo. Also, you can be a world class player even if you're injury prone.
Best ability is availability. If you’re not the pitch to display it then what’s the point. And Tierney only has one quality that he really excels at. He’s solid in other areas but world class? Also why are acting like we’ve never seen Tierney in system that accentuates his qualities?
I can't name you a system he's played in which fits him more than Newcastle. Hot take, but I'll rather take a 7 or 8/10 player who's only available for half a season rather than a 5/10 player who's available everyday. That half a season player can be a game changer.
Or you could get a 7 or 8/10 who isn’t injury prone..
He's the only PL proven left back who's at that level in the market this summer
Give me Kane and Rice, I want the tears from both fanbases as take them and we win trophies next season
Kane would be amazing I won’t lie. I can’t figure out what would be the best part : his goals and the push it would give us to win titles or the shitstorm it would generate on Shit’s side XD And for those who don’t want to give money to Levy… when you see how “well” he spent it on Richardlison, I wouldn’t mind financing another shit deal like this for them.

Aw fuck 😢
Arsenal fans do not realise that ESR is the heir of Kaka
Grealish better watch his back. The hale end low sock demon taking his spot
Can't believe we paid 41m for Mustafi
There still isn’t a straight answer to this question. Were there any red flags in his Valencia tape? I sure as hell don’t recall any. The only issue I remember seeing from his game film was that he was too similar to Koscielny, where a more secure ball recycler and aerial duel winner was needed. That was far from disqualifying though.
We weren't supposed to buy him in the first place. He was a panic buy. We had the four defenders set in Kos, Per, Gabriel, Holding and Chambers. Then for some reason, the three got injured before the season began. We got whipped by Mane and Liverpool and we got Mustafi. This fanbase was extremely happy about it btw. They had spent over three weeks torching Arsene about signing a CB despite having 5 of them.
Well, back then very few defenders were great passing our from the back. He was definitely well above average when we bought him for that. Just the defensive side was...not exactly up to par.
>not exactly up to par And therein lies the rub. Was there *anything* in the Valencia tape that gave us even the slightest indication that this was a possibility? I see sometimes Mustafi is referred to as an ill advised deal in the vein of Nicolas Pepe, as far there being more questions than answers about his fit for our project. I don’t feel that’s accurate. It made a ton of sense, it just didn’t work out.
I'd compare it to Luiz with us. If the player is younger, does 98% of stuff well but has 1 brain dead mistake a game do you throw them in the bin or think it's an outlier/can be coached away?
Can't believe I found a tweet saying I thought he agreed a new contract in 2020[https://i.imgur.com/vZtIlYW.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/vZtIlYW.jpg)
And he turned it down 😭
Reminder that Mustafi turned down a contract extension from Arteta and edu lol For that, he’s a hero
I am once again asking people to provide me with a reliable source that confirms this. There isn’t one. The *only* person to put this rumour forward was Chris Wheatley, whose reliability I don’t need to discuss.
Just wanted to say, I’ve been going to the majority of our home games for the last 7-10 years (have had a share of a season ticket) and my favourite thing - by far - has been our atmosphere. This has been a drastic improvement, I remember the half empty stadiums for European games. Perhaps the best bit is North London Forever playing and us all singing along. I’m 27 and I’ve never had that as an Arsenal fan, that true feeling of a collective home and support. I’m gutted we didn’t win the league this year, we all are. But regardless, what we have now is fuggin special guys. Personally, I can’t wait for next season - wherever we finish I’ll be proud of these boys. I hope we hold onto the vast majority of this squad because they’ve all been part of our transformation. COYG
Vieira bulk up this, Vieira bulk up that what if Arteta likes him for who he is Lean and sharp
He is young and barely speaks English. He just needs a bit more time to settle in. His time will come I’m sure.
Tbh he does have a great personality 😏
Yeah, he loves how opposing midfielders knock him over and take the ball.
No chill 🙄
People are really sleeping on Vieira - he will surprise a lot of people next season.
wow he just like me fr fr
It’s funny how the Bundesliga has been shit in for years in r/soccer but now it could be valuable experience for Rice as an English international
The only way Rice can get valuable experience is by playing Luton away.
It's useless for him lol. Bundesliga una, there is no competition.
Interesting question about kane, what do you think he enjoyed more this season where he scored 30 goals? or last season where he scored 17 and beat us to 4th?
His only career goal apparently is the prem record, so probably the 30 goals. (Joking mostly, just going off what Spurs and /Soccer fans love to say)
If Haaland didn't exist then there's an argument for this year. However with that freak obliterating every record in his first season, last year is far superior.
Orkun Kokcu Please Make it happen Give them Sambi
We were linked a few seasons ago
He is technical, has that dog in him (is not afraid to fight people) and is a leader. Voted best player in the league as well. Would be a great engine in the midfield.
So when are we making the plus minus lists: Who is going to depart? Almost certain: Lokonga Pepe Runarsson Pablo Mari Ainsley Tavares Okonkwo Trusty Xhaka? Question marks: Balogun? Cedric? Tierney? Holding? Marquinhos?
Marquinhos will surely get another loan, no?
Pepe will likely have to be another loan, no one will pay those wages same as last year. I have a feeling will be the same for AMN who still has a year left. Had an absolute stinker of a season.
AMN contract expires in a month, not next year
Okonkwo? Why?
We have Turner and Hein and apparently people wanna buy him
https://imgur.com/obnRgpU.jpg This man might be more stupid that he looks
It's stupid unless he runs down his contract to join us, then it's 8d underwater chess
[удалено]
That's clearly not the reason though
If I was Kane, I'd either end my career with Tottenham (get the goalscoring record, captain the club, be a one-club man) or go to Bayern and guaranteed trophies. There's not a lot of middle ground, if he leaves Tottenham he better be damn sure he wins something big.
https://imgur.com/5uQedIT.jpg "one club man" Also it's Real Madrid or Bayern. Spurs is always the wrong option when you compare the 3
Do loans count? I don't know, I respect a guy who wants to stay at his childhood club (and yes I remember the strop last year to try to get to city). My goodness that man was ugly even as a kid.
His childhood club is Arsenal. I thought that was pretty well known
Yes, but professionally he is Tottenham.
Nothing stupid about trying to get the PL goal scoring record
It's pretty shit. I don't think anyone cares about it and there's a big difference between how history will remember harry Kane vs shearer who did it because he loved his boyhood club (and had also won the PL beforehand).
So you’re saying that being remembered as the greatest goalscorer in the greatest league in the world is pretty shit.
It's quite naff is probably the best way to put it. To get that and never win a trophy, it's naff.
He won't be remembered as the greatest scorer. He'll be remembered as the top scorer. The greatest scorers the PL has seen are Haaland Henry and Aguero. Could easily argue Cole over Kane too.
Haaland isn't better than Kane (yet). Only 6 goals more than Kane and Kane got his 30 in spite of Tottenham being god awful. Kane would have smashed garlands 36 if he was at city this year lol.
Better scorer. I don't think he would've lol
Is he a better scorer? Kane scoring is practically inevitable in that spurs team.... man does it on his own, haaland cant do that.
I'd take peak Suarez as well.
Maybe stupid is the wrong word. But imagine turning down an opportunity to leave that shithole and actually compete at the top level. We have different drivers but I'd rather be just another players in a good team then the best player on a team going in reverse. Can't even get a coach ffs. There's every chance. Spurs are too shit for him to get there in a season anyway. Then what?
He’s been there so long, he might as well wait one more season and get all the moneys by moving for free.
Maybe leaving spurs is the right decision, but only to a PL club. The goal scoring record is just too important, and to do it with just being at 1 club (and that club being spurs of all team) would be impressive
Meaningless record against a title or CL medal, should be no contest at all.
So being the highest ever goalscorer in the best league in the world is inferior to just winning a trophy? Loads of players have won leagues and trophies. Kane will be the only one with his goal scoring record. A record that could last for decades. That to me is worth far more than a trophy
It's not highest ever because English football didn't start in 1992.
Haaland will likely break it while he's still playing idk
I doubt he stays in the PL long enough to break it
"The game is about glory" they say over at the shithole. The game in question is a team sport, so winning trophies as a team is always the highest goal. Kane would of course be delighted to be all time top scorer, but it won't match the feeling of lifting La Liga or the UCL.
Really is a moron, loyal, but a moron. Really can't understand why you wouldn't go to bayern right now. Basically the best job in the world for a striker imo.
It’s really not hard to grasp. He wants the PL all-time goal scoring record
Yeah where did I say I don't understand that? Edit: oh yeah I did say that lol. I'm just saying if it was me I would put Spurs all time top scorer in my back pocket, head off to bayern for all the best PEDs, an elongated career, 50 goals a season every year, deep CL every year and a chance at a ballon d'or. Plus probably double if not triple my wage, mega sign on bonus and everything else. It's a pretty selfish achievement and I don't think as a player I would want to look back on that as my crowning achievement in my career. I think that's a stupid decision.
It’s not just spurs all time goal-scorer. It’s the highest goalscorer of all-time in the PL. That would be a remarkable achievement that could last decades. That is worth more than moving to Germany to win an almost guaranteed Bundesliga title It would be a stupid decision to leave the PL
Yeah doesn't really move me personally. I think, I would score that goal and a week later I'd feel empty. Who are you celebrating that with? What is the dressing room gna be like after? It's gna be dull, it's gna be a moment in time mid season, they might even lose the game where he breaks it, they'll probably have another poor season the season he does it. His teammates will be happy but it's not the same as winning something together. Team trophies are the memories you carry with you imo, working together to achieve something as a group. And as I said, he's already never going to be forgotten as spurs all time scorer, you can't never be forgotten twice. But you can win 0 trophies in your career. I would be happy with that rather than spend the final few years of my career chasing the big one, which will shorten his playing career in the PL compared to elsewhere. Plus to me CL and a shot at a Ballon d'or is a bigger possible achievement if he can do it at bayern. I think most footballers would tell you the same that team achievments were the thing they loved the most and I think most footballers would sacrifice some of their personal achievements for a few more years at the very top level. What do you think too, if you asked Kane what was his most enjoyable season this season where he got 30 goals, or last season where he beat arsenal to 4th and scored 17?
Winning the bundesliga would also feel really empty. It’s not an impressive achievement and it’s the easy way out. Btw I’m not saying he shouldn’t leave spurs. He just has to stay in the PL. Joining Man Utd could get him the best of both worlds (still get the record and also have better shot at silverware)
No it wouldn't, only if he hates all his teammates. Have you ever won anything in a team sport? It's one of the best things about sport some of those german guys are jokes too, would have a great time. Of course the bundesliga is just the guaranteed one it's a cake walk, although i'm sure the players fucking love it, but there is the biggest club trophy of all to win there the CL. Personal achievements are nice, sense of accomplishment is great I'm sure but really as with anything in life the shared memories are what matters, it's what you will look back on when you are old. And he already has imo the most important personal achievement, to be your boyhood clubs all time best player. That's it, you're gna be cast in bronze mate. There's no statue of shearer outside PL headquarters, it's outside newcastle. Oh, well yeah maybe that's not as dumb to leave spurs, but still to me that's dirtying your already impeccable spurs record somewhat for personal glory. How do we see van persie, cole, fabregas vs henry. And again what a shit time it would be if united were crap with him and he broke it when they were having a shit season which is totally possible.
To be so close to achieving something so unique, and giving that up would be something I’d definitely regret. No matter the joys of winning a trophy
You said you didn’t understand that when you said you couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t go to Bayern, lol
Hope Mou keeps talking shit about Tottenham for eternity 🫰
2 things: 1) It's actually mad that Kane scored 30 goals in that absolutely dire Spurs squad. Nearly half of all goals they scored this season. 2) United finished 3rd with 58 goals scored. 1 place behind us and 30 goals less. They must have scraped more 1-0 wins than I can remember
If City weren't in the league we would be astronomically clear of every other team, the gap is really under appreciated.
Spurs is nothing without kane I predict they head to midtable immediately his legs go/ get sold United is a counter-attacking team is my perception of them they are not good to watch creatively but hey a win is a win even 1-0 's count 🤷🏽
Not that surprising. Kane is a damn good player, gets all the penalties and most creation is concentrated on him. Usually teams have a player who receives the most xT/xG chain. He usually gets the most goals. United are dangerous because once they score, they chill and are ruthless at defending lead. It's the one thing I want us to learn from them.
[Barstool is taking piss](https://twitter.com/barstoolsports/status/1663617526981447680?s=46&t=DsOWpn4lU1kyRvD25u2moQ)
Barstool is piss
The guitar outro to Arsenal Vision is so fucking sick. I routinely air guitar to it when I listen to the pod.
As someone who only started supporting from 2013 onwards, how good was RVP during the 11/12 season?
Possibly the best individual season an Emirates era player had ever had
That season was better than any season anyone has played for us since henry, he was a force
No one has won more games by themselves this century. That was a team starting guys like Yossi Benayoun. The 5-3 Chelsea game is still maybe our funniest match of the last 15 years. We could have conceded 5 in the first half. As bad of defense as we have ever played. Then Van Persie puts us on his back and wins a game at the Bridge.
There was a CL game Vs Marseille in that season. We rested Van Persie and wanted to give Arsenal legend, Park Chu Young a chance. I'm a big advocate of system Vs stars but at point you could see Arsenal were soulless. Everything upfront was so plain that Arsenal all of a sudden looked like a midtable team. Then he was subbed on and the team turned on. We still drew 0-0 but you could feel in that moment how good he was. Two things that you probably missed about him was ball striking and feints.
best player Emirates era 😔
Even better than Fabregas?
that season he was
No he wasn't but it's more recent then people will say he was
Just a proper number 9. For many years he came of the bench, or had a run of games here and there. Iirc Wenger tried to mold him into a wide forward. Then one season it just clicked. His off the ball movement was great, and Song was also on fire that year, sending through balls to him. What set him apart was his sweat striking. Super clinical from lots of angles. Then the next season he went off to help United win the prem and to help us fund the Emirates. He carried on his crazy form into that season too and destroyed alongside a deeper lying Rooney.
Proper number 9? He played as a 10 and as a 9 at the same time
It was *8* years with us before he scored 20 in a season. Wild.
I can’t think of a player with better shooting technique than him. Every goal he scored in his highlights just seem so clean
🥲

The idea you can't get good players from France actually makes me irrationally mad. Imo it's the best league to buy from all factors considered
Defenders and midfielders from Ligue 1 tend to be quality buys in the EPL. Attackers… not so much. For every Hazard, there are a bunch of Pepe’s, Taraabt’s, and Ben Arfa’s.
Ben Arfa had one pretty great year didn't he? Not looking up g/a, but wasn't he on the same team as Cisse/Ba that was quite fun?
Yeah, he had one great year. And sucked the rest of his time beyond that. Taraabt did the same (one great year at QPR, sucked before and after). Pepe had one good year with us, flattered to deceive the rest of his time here. Same with Payet (one great year at West Ham, not great otherwise). It’s a pattern with lots of attackers from Ligue 1. You are better off buying defenders and midfielders from Ligue 1, who have far more consistent quality track records over longer.
That Payet year at West Ham was sick.
Payet was also great at Euro 2016 which France should have won.
Quite literally our starting CBs 🤣
Precisely. We (Arsenal) are probably the best and greatest example why buying defenders and midfielders from Ligue 1 is generally a good bet (our CB partnership), and why buying attackers from Ligue 1 is, legendary exceptions like Henry (who made his name in Ligue 1) aside, usually a disappointing bet (Pepe, Lacazette).
Every single league is a farmer's league or else you're getting a elite club's rejects and it's not worth it. Everybody knows this.
Would Liverpool buy Thuram if they had UCL?
Probably yeah. They always needed multiple midfielders. They could never afford Belligham irregardless.
Maybe yeah
Just embrace the silliness of the season. 'You can't get good British players from France, now, can you?'
Who the hell said that 😂
Kone is good but his distribution and passing are average. Great ball winner but when he has to do something with it he's still very raw. The comparisons of some Liverpool fans to Camavinga are way way off
He's a budget one. Camavinga from WISH. I feel like with the right attitude, he can get better. Cama is a prodigy so it's a bit hard to compare him to anyone in his age group now.
Another raw player being targeted by Liverpool where people can only remember his good games. We are going to be signing elite ballers like Rice whilst they are meddling about with Kone and the likes. The gap is huge. I guess it makes sense though. They are being linked with the sort of player I would wanted us to get when we were finishing outside the CL. But Liverpool are just going to end up wasting Salah and Alisson's prime the way they're moving.
That's Liverpool's level now Arsenal are targeting the likes of Ricedo while Liverpool are going for Uber eats players. Arteta's really the next big manager players are noticing it as well
Agreed. Arteta knew the potential of this club once we became strong again. He is capitalising on it. None of this no transfers until half the squad is shit business.
Our bench is good regardless with ESR, Vieira, Partey, Trossard, and Nelson. Just have to make the midfield a bit better and we'll compete for major trophies
He is a good player. Just not sure how he fits in with Mac Allister and fabinho. But they obviously see something he can do that they want
They are taking moonshots and hoping to get back into cl through luck
Being a good player is not enough in this league if you want to compete at the top. Every team has good players. We have let go of good players in the last few years(Willock, Emi Martinez, Leno). Is Kone really above that calibre of player? Because that is what you are competing against.
That teamnewsandtix is Afcbell and I won't hear otherwise
Liverpool tracking M Kone too. They're stealing my ideas
Let’s hope they pay €1bn for Marcus Thuram then
Banking on players for Ligue 1 risky. Ricedo clear
Avoided by scouting players well. Which you would do to any player you sign 👍🏿
Liverpool's scouting lately hasn't been good. Nunez was a major flop, Carvalho has done nothing, anr Gakpo is decent that's all.
None of that is because of the league they came from. Also it's not necessarily poor scouting when a player doesn't work.
If we get Ricedo, backup RB, and another attacker think we'll win at least 1 major trophy next season
I think if we get Rice and Caicedo we then have Caicedo, white, Partey and Tomi who can play RB. A RCB is more likely
AND BEN WHITE. Caicedo solves our depth problem at RB and in midfield
While I appreciate perspective and maintaining a level head, I also appreciate an attitude like Salah's when Liverpool didn't qualify for Champions League and he publicly stated that was unacceptable. I want us to qualify for CL every year, but I also want us to be of a standard where it's unacceptable if we don't. I'm grateful we've pulled ourselves out of the cesspool of mediocrity in recent years.
I fully agree no more vibes and happy to be here facade AFC should always be up there
I think it is now unacceptable for us to miss CL from now on. It just took some patience to allow Mikel time to build a team capable of doing it consistently.
I don’t see Liverpool coming back to 85-90 points next season. I think they could 80, but not enough to compete towards the end. It’s going to be Arsenal - City again. What do you guys think about Liverpool’s chances next season?
Let me see their window but from the signs I'm seeing, it is NOT looking good.
I think they finish 2nd IF they sign two top quality mids, a right back, and Darwin arrives for real and slots into the team in season two
They just need Diaz, Jota and Thiago for 20 games to be a big threat. They missed that this season.
I think its a 3 horse race with us City and them. And then United Squared to round out the top 4. Or there might even be that 5th coefficient spot thing next season.
I love the idea of a 3 horse race. Should be fun
I think it’ll start off 4, United drop off relatively quickly and the other 3 keep pace for a while but we’ll see Liverpool to begin to drop off, leaving a two horse race. That’s the top 4 though.
Hard to get specific without seeing the squads everyone goes in.
Liverpool will struggle to get 70 points again. Their recruitment has been shite for a while and based on the targets i'm seeing they aren't getting any better. Gravenberch and Thuram, yeah Klopp has lost the plot
Yeah those two and Mac Allister I don’t see being enough to make up the points.
Eventually, I think some of the smaller European leagues will have to amalgamate. I just wonder when it will start to happen.
