The game suffer from a lot of problems (some pretty similar to GoW ironically, lack of enemy variety, pretty much no actual bosses, wacky camera works) but it's still pretty fun, if you can get it discounted go for it
I kinda disagree with your down sides and also if those were downsides they are not the worst. I guess I just never got the whacky camera angles. Itās a hack and slash action rpg hybrid. You kids now days want the world
Camera gets wack when you get surrounded, with no possibility of doing a quick 180 like GoW had (or modern Resident Evil). The final boss is >!The same big machine you already fought countless times, just with a bit more hp!<. The open world is gigantic, and yet you have barely 20 different ennemies inside - One being nothing more than a moving prop (tallnecks), another being said boss and a few other that are mechanically the same (the bulls and deer one are pretty much the same mobs). As for humans ennemies, you have what, 3 of them ? Archer, explosive guy, big guy with machine gun ...
There's also a few more downsides, with stupid things during stealth (aerial takedown let the target see you and raise alert), countless animations lock yet no iframes during them, and that's excluding all the bugs that might ruin your experience (I've ended up stuck in props way more time than I saw Cyberpunk 2077 glitching).
I never said I wanted the world, just saying that Horizon had a lot of flaws, but was still an enjoyable game
Awesome!! I was born in 93, yeah itās super weird to be in the 2020ās lol. I still feel like GoW3 isnāt that old, when I look at the visuals nowadays Iām like while it still looks good I remember the visuals being some of the best I had seen. Happens with everything I guess lol atleast weāre still in our 20ās for nowā¦
For now, being 23 now I remember when God of war 3 came out, I played that shit 20 times at least. Unreal that it came out so long ago. Here I am 1 major back surgery later, I feel old as fuck man.
Ssriously! The game is barely out and already a meme about the "wen next game?" Jesus people, go outside (if you can) once in awhile. The game will still be there, at home waiting for you.
Boring, clunky, subpar combat, terrible camera, lame puzzles, too "cinematic" as usual of Soyny's new games, tons of recycled enemies, Atreus is garbage, uninteresting characters (besides the dwarfs). I'm glad I have migrated to PC, Sony's games have gone to shit due to their massive focus on pleasing casuals and game jornos
while i dont agree with the other person. this is just a stupid take on your part. he is literally just sharing his opinion and yous are acting like you dont know what that means
Am i not entitled to my opinion too? Yea what i said is rude but its my opinion about him and im almost sure he just wants to be quirky with theāfocus on pleasing the casualsā
I mean you're on the GoW sub. stating that you genuinely dislike the GoW games (trust me, if you think these are "meh," we know you don't actually like the OG games) on its own sub means you're straight up trolling.
widdle baby wants his clout
A million times better for sure. Better camera, combat, variety, and boss fights.
>You fight the same monsters 40 times in the story
That's... the point of the game, bro, not every game has to be a walking simulator like GoW2018 and Ragnarok are (also, pretty much every Soyny exclusive game since the PS3 era)
Lol, Death Stranding is a walking simulator. God Of War isn't even close to the same game. It's a phenomenal game and Ragnarok is just a more polished version continuing the story
This. Living in Ukraine taught me this. Every day we can be nuked or killed. I can't influence any of that. But I can live and enjoy life in the moment instead of worrying about future.
Yeah I felt the same thing during the bush fires here in Australia. When my house got burned down, I just did what I could in the moment. The more I thought about tomorrow, the more it all seemed useless
I see, yea I took a quick peep on it and itās just shit post city. Funny but also kinda sad to see (at least for me) the only cure is another Arkham game.
origins was pretty fun. cool boss fights and solid gameplay. Arkham Knight would have been the best if they didn't force so much batmobile tank missions
I assume he meant a separate game based on the mechanics of Ragnarƶk, sharing many environments, etc.
Though playing as Atreus seems completely possible.
I wonder if they'll do a drastic reboot again. It doesn't seem really needed. A continuation in Egyptian mythology with different world scope but basically similar moment to moment gameplay could be amazing. But then i haven't played Ragnarok so who knows if the story can continue in the first place
They should really melt the original gow with the new one with the next game.
Camera slightly zoomed out like dmc5.
Jump button and bring back the epicness and scale of the old games, especially boss fights.
This. Me only being 23, I hope to still have a passion for gaming when im 50 years older. My hope is that the current generation just doesn't ruin it with a dumbass woke agenda. I just like working and playing my games. It's the one release we all have in common. An escape. We may not be a perfect community of gamers but we, for the most part all love each other. I'm sure this comment will probably get lost in the shuffle but I love all my gaming friends. It's a family. And I love all of you. ā¤ļø.
This. For at least few years they had no plan to restart the series, it ended with barely any loose ends and most people thought the story of Kratos was over and even spin off games were just there to complete some details game wasn't able to mention like Kratos story before those events
But now it looks like Devs are planning to not abandon the series anytime soon
Bro... You joking, right? Or probably just another zoomer who grew up with PS4 games and missed out the golden era. The original trilogy and even the PSP games shit all over this Rise: Son of Rome/TLOU wannabe
> And I thought we were talking about GoW2018 and Ragnarok.
And I am. People who think they come close to the original trilogy can't be serious or just care about graphics and immersion. As for me, GOW2018 was far from amazing (terrible zoomed in camera, clunky animations, damage sponge enemies, lack of boss variety and tons of recycled ones), and Ragnarok looks like more of the same.
I mean the forced, "cinematic" immersion methods Soyny and other AAA studios use to pretend to be immersive, like the entire beginning of GoW2018, when you're forced to sit through several minutes of a boring segment, cutting and carrying a damned tree, rowing, basically a glorified cutscene you sadly can't skip (same with TLOU and its abundance of walking-while-chatting-with-boring-NPC segments).
Action games don't need that to be immersive, just make the world, levels interesting, make the combat smooth and addicting, add in a large variety of enemies and bosses, maybe some well-implemented RPG elements, and please, zoom out the goddamn camera, this isn't Gears of Wars or any other 3rd person shooter!
I mean, youāre objectively in the minority in how you feel, but to each their own. I just replayed all three original games and the gameplay has a lot more flaws and less immersion than anything in GoW18. Theyāre very dated. Itās also funny that you donāt like the new camera setting, because the original was terrible.
Also thereās nothing āforcedā about introducing a story and cutscenes that are vital to the story. If you donāt like immersion or story, play something else. But GoW18 is universally loved and Ragnarok is even better.
Isnāt that the reason SMS made the Norse games a duology instead of a trilogy? They wanted to conclude this story instead of having it last for 10 years.
In retrospect, time feels like nothing. But looking into the future, well that feels like eternity, even if it's not that far.
This is what I've experienced
Itās not confirmed how long itās gonna take Santa Monica, it was 5 years for the Norse games and this is the end of the Norse mythology. So we have no idea how long itāll take them for their next game, probably longer if Iām being honest
Not necessarily. 2018 took 5 years because of the new engine, and ragnarok took a year longer than expected because of Covid.
If the next series keeps the same engine and gameplay style, it shouldn't necessarily take longer to come out compared to 2018.
It really depends on how much they decide to change for the next game. They've already got a solid base for graphics, mechanics and gameplay, so they could just make something quicker - The 2018 game took a long time to make because it was all from scratch, but Ragnarok was meant to come only 3 years later, being delayed because of Covid. The only issue is that a completely new setting would be extra work as they have less reusable assets and presumably a longer pre-production phase.
You want to know about something scary?? We might not even get another GOW game with kratos.. this might be the last time we see him.
Edit: Wow!! I'm not even a native English speaker yet I used the word *might* but people still can't understand the meaning of it, instead they started downvoting me. Peak reddit moment
SPOILERS!!
>!what I meant was, this could be the last game for kratos because he had a redemption arc in ragnarok and atreus went in a separate way to find the remaining giants. So in the future we might get a game solely focussed on atreus, since kratos's story has been finished in a perfect way.!<
I thought this game was wrapping up all this long and drawn out Norse stuff?? That's what pissed me off about the first one...it finally started getting really good and not so repetitive then Thor lands in front of the house and the game ends?! This next one better be constant boss and story action not annoying repetitive lil enemies...
But look at this, It'll be much better than 2018 and arguably better than Ragnarok. 2018 was testing the waters, Ragnarok was listening to what the people wanted and building the game based off that and the successes of 2018. The next one will only be an advancement of Ragnarok. Maybe not gameplay wise but it will follow Ragnaroks success
I kind of hope the series just ends forever after this. Give the story a proper ending without needlessly stretching it out. Nothing's stopping Santa Monica from making a DMC/Dark Souls hybrid action adventure game with a different or original IP.
2027? That's not a real year!
I too refuse to believe that we're not in 2010, I'm not that old!! (Born in 94 and yes a movie/game from 2010 is a newly released title)
First Horizon zero came out 5 years ago
No way i bought it at release last year!!
ššš
Is it worth the play?
Absolutely
Itās Grindy but I enjoyed it a fair amount
Definitely. Itās amazing
definitely then play the sequel that they made even better
š right!! šš
The game suffer from a lot of problems (some pretty similar to GoW ironically, lack of enemy variety, pretty much no actual bosses, wacky camera works) but it's still pretty fun, if you can get it discounted go for it

I never said I wanted the world, just saying that Horizon had a lot of flaws, but was still an enjoyable game
Ok Sony fangirl.
I found it got old very quick, quite boring imo I wouldn't suggest it.
I did buy it last year... On pc š„²š„²
That doesn't seem that unbelievable though. I mean, to me it feels like about 5 years ago.
We 90s babies are unique. Born in time to enjoy the world before the internet and literally grew up along side the new world with the internet
>We 90s babies are unique. Born in time to enjoy the world before the internet TIL 90s came before 1983.
Bruv cmon. That internet was like a blueprint. Didnāt even count
Sorry that you were wrong idk what to tell you.
Ggs
you were 16 in 2010. Now you're 28 š“š½. How's your back?
Shut up! It's killing me in the morning...
Not for long tho, my back is telling me that almost every morning
Yeah, Iām definitely feeling older as well! My knees will let me know occasionally
WE'RE STILL 20s!! I refuse to say otherwise and my younger gf have tons of fun from that
Iām with you there! Lol
For now, being 23 now I remember when God of war 3 came out, I played that shit 20 times at least. Unreal that it came out so long ago. Here I am 1 major back surgery later, I feel old as fuck man.
Yeah movies like Gladiator, Black Hawk Down and the first 2 LOTR movies are over 20 years old. Perception of time flies faster the older you get.
I wasn't even alive in 94. Now I'm in college š
It hasn't even come out and you're already thinking about when it's over... Live in the moment my guy
Ssriously! The game is barely out and already a meme about the "wen next game?" Jesus people, go outside (if you can) once in awhile. The game will still be there, at home waiting for you.
Yeah, I don't get the desperation for new entries when these new GOW games are meh af
meh?
Exactly
How???
Boring, clunky, subpar combat, terrible camera, lame puzzles, too "cinematic" as usual of Soyny's new games, tons of recycled enemies, Atreus is garbage, uninteresting characters (besides the dwarfs). I'm glad I have migrated to PC, Sony's games have gone to shit due to their massive focus on pleasing casuals and game jornos
Ignore him he just wants to be quirky and get attention
while i dont agree with the other person. this is just a stupid take on your part. he is literally just sharing his opinion and yous are acting like you dont know what that means
Am i not entitled to my opinion too? Yea what i said is rude but its my opinion about him and im almost sure he just wants to be quirky with theāfocus on pleasing the casualsā
"Someone hurt my feelings by sharing their opinions that aren't similar to my opinions, gotta be a troll"!
I mean you're on the GoW sub. stating that you genuinely dislike the GoW games (trust me, if you think these are "meh," we know you don't actually like the OG games) on its own sub means you're straight up trolling. widdle baby wants his clout
You play monster hunter lmao. You fight the same monsters 40 times in the story
A million times better for sure. Better camera, combat, variety, and boss fights. >You fight the same monsters 40 times in the story That's... the point of the game, bro, not every game has to be a walking simulator like GoW2018 and Ragnarok are (also, pretty much every Soyny exclusive game since the PS3 era)
I that guy hasn't even tried Fatalis smh
You say that, when in monster hunter world the monsters run away and you walk to them⦠hence walking simulator. Your logic is flawed and biased
Lol, Death Stranding is a walking simulator. God Of War isn't even close to the same game. It's a phenomenal game and Ragnarok is just a more polished version continuing the story
You should try become a comedian. Cos this is the funniest thing I've read in ages
I don't know what type of games are "ok" to you if god of war is meh XD
I mean, damn. Yāall having it rough, but we just wanna game man, now we gotta think about life as well.
Amen to this. Changed my view of life for the same reasons.
Nah what's even worse if that's comes true then we're gonnna become like r/batmanarkham
What the hell happened there?
Everyone somehow became more insane than the joker Edit:killer Cock
Please, you don't wanna know.
Iām morbidly curious now.
They lost their damn minds and made a running gag for the next game called āArkham worldā. Every post is a meta meme about that game.
I see, yea I took a quick peep on it and itās just shit post city. Funny but also kinda sad to see (at least for me) the only cure is another Arkham game.
Touch grass please, for the love of christ
Did Bruce Wayne know he was batman
Pepelaugh oh no no no
Two great games followed by trash.
origins was pretty fun. cool boss fights and solid gameplay. Arkham Knight would have been the best if they didn't force so much batmobile tank missions
Even without the forced Batmobile missions, Knight is far from the best.
Knight easily had the most fluid combat and traversal. Gliding in that game feels so seamless.
nah, a majority of people, including me, consider knight and origins as the best and second best in the series, respectively
Round that up to nice even 2030
Might even get the pc port
I'm probably gonna be dead by then
Same
:(
Cheer up cynic
Iām going to take my time with ragnarokā¦. FUCK NO, imma finish that in 2 days. Imma replay the shit outta this game
What's wrong with a game franchise having a normal release schedule?
Nothing is wrong, meme is just implying the wait is hard but they are not complaining
Games like this that focus on the most cutting edge graphics and visuals are gonna take years to make, that's the reality of game development now
From what i heard they set up a Miles Morales type game so we might get a new one sooner.
where'd u heard that from?
>!Seen a couple of leaks saying the game ends with Atreus going his separate way to collect something(not sure what probably giants hearts)!<
My buddy Eric
Eric sounds reliable.
Like an atreus only game??
I assume he meant a separate game based on the mechanics of Ragnarƶk, sharing many environments, etc. Though playing as Atreus seems completely possible.
I imagine we will get a Giants spin off game starring Atreus. Heās way too popular to not milk
Atreus, popular? I hate him so much, wish we could just kill him and play solo the rest of the game
You okay there bud?
You ok there, bud? Concerned with a fictional character, that's strange
Facts
Atreus only game will be the best playable Emiya Shirou we get ;)
Don't worry 2 years to 100% and 3 years to 100% NG+ with all new armor
*remembers the myth of Ragnarok* We might not have to worry about that
I'm fucking stoked for this game. I can't wait to leave work tomorrow to pick up my collector's edition.
Maybe when it doesnāt get delayed again (because of the voice actor who was recovering), we get it sooner
Honestly if they can make the Egyptian one in 3 years with the same-ish mechanics just tweaked and a new storyline, everyone would be satisfied.
At least I'll be 24
Iāll be fucking 40 lol
Just turned 30 myself haha holy shit time is starting to get downright trippy
Great, now I have a new fear, dying of old age while waiting for whatever epic game is still in development to come out
Yeeeeeee pretty much haha I'ma be a damn proud old ass gamer though. Hope to be like 85 still still goin hard!
And I love all of you. ā¤ļø.
Your words have been heard my brother.
99 babies unite ā
44 for me š©
Got damn!
I'll be 27
I'll be 4
Iāll be 31 š
Iāll be 22 š®āšØ
Currently 22, 23 tomorrow. 22 sucks. 23 probably is gonna as well.
24? Man i'll be 31. Can't believe i was 22 when the 2018 game came out and i'll be in my 30s with the third installment. Fuck.
29 š¤¢
Yah! 2000s gang!
Iāll be 26 š¤£
Iāll only be 22
Egyptian trilogy or duology.
At least you get to play it now lol. I'll be lucky if i can afford it in next 3 years!
Ill buy u it bro
Wow!. I don't even know how to thank you bro.
Probably longer than that. There was an 8 year gap between GoW 3 and GoW 2018 after all.
The length between GoW3 and GoW2018 is irrelevant. Everyone thought the series was over after he killed Zeus and ended Olympus.
This. For at least few years they had no plan to restart the series, it ended with barely any loose ends and most people thought the story of Kratos was over and even spin off games were just there to complete some details game wasn't able to mention like Kratos story before those events But now it looks like Devs are planning to not abandon the series anytime soon
It should've, considering how mediocre the reboot games are
Huh? If you mean 2018 and Ragnarok, theyāre both better than any entry in the original games.
Bro... You joking, right? Or probably just another zoomer who grew up with PS4 games and missed out the golden era. The original trilogy and even the PSP games shit all over this Rise: Son of Rome/TLOU wannabe
Iāve been gaming since ā95. And I thought we were talking about GoW2018 and Ragnarok. Not the terrible spin-offs of the original trilogy.
And you claim Iām the one trolling lol. How do you think immersion is a bad thingā¦?

Did everyone forget Ascension?
You forgot about ghost of Sparta and Ascension which came out in between those 2?
It's out
Isnāt that the reason SMS made the Norse games a duology instead of a trilogy? They wanted to conclude this story instead of having it last for 10 years.
Time flies when you don't worry about it I think
In retrospect, time feels like nothing. But looking into the future, well that feels like eternity, even if it's not that far. This is what I've experienced

Still better than GTA

I actually would kind of like SSM to work on a new IP or something and give GoW another little break for a while.
That's the plan allegedly
The game hasnāt even released yet, and youāre already complaining about the next entry.
You want to know about something scary?? We might not even get another GOW game with kratos.. this might be the last time we see him. Edit: Wow!! I'm not even a native English speaker yet I used the word *might* but people still can't understand the meaning of it, instead they started downvoting me. We already know thatās not the case
I think Cory himself confirmed there will be no gow game without kratos
No it's not
Nah, I wouldn't worry about that
I mean its kinda true. At least taking into context the ending of 2018 god of war
It's GoW sub, those people are better fanboys than console war fanboys
[ŃŠ“алено]
The last Norse saga god of war. Youāre being misleading
[ŃŠ“алено]
They say it like 10 times in the articleā¦. You just have to read
Damn fam, do you need a hug?
No⦠just read the article before you say what itās about beforehand
Damn, you're kinda a duck huh?
Iām the dick? This dude deleted his comment with the article and now is trying to play it off
What article?
Youāre weird bro.
I thought this game was wrapping up all this long and drawn out Norse stuff?? That's what pissed me off about the first one...it finally started getting really good and not so repetitive then Thor lands in front of the house and the game ends?! This next one better be constant boss and story action not annoying repetitive lil enemies...
Maybe will get a Greek pantheon vs Norse pantheon game in the middle like the ascension multi-player. Atleast thats what I'm hoping
So⦠the worldās not ending this Ragnarƶk.
There is no next oneā¦.
I read they are not making a third it takes them to long to make
After tomorrow we got 6 more games to go
Is this confirmed? Will there even be more God of Wars?
No new entry?? NO I DONT WANT THAT!!
I canāt wait till midnight tonight.
Who says there will be a new entry in the works? The story is done. Maybe they'll make a different game and come back to it in a decade or more.
What makes you think they wont do a new one ? Norse saga might br over but they can do wiyh egyptian one
Killer Cock
5 years later
I wonder if I will have children by then
Just be grateful weāre getting a masterpiece now
They could always find a way to Miles Morales Lost Legacy Right? š Right?
Nah I say 2026
But look at this, It'll be much better than 2018 and arguably better than Ragnarok. 2018 was testing the waters, Ragnarok was listening to what the people wanted and building the game based off that and the successes of 2018. The next one will only be an advancement of Ragnarok. Maybe not gameplay wise but it will follow Ragnaroks success
About the same wait as 2018-2022 so dont really see the problem
Sorry my year count doesnāt go past 2025
I get it today at 8pm š. Might play an hour but it is more functionally the next day for me
As much as I want it Iām not buying it. I only have 1 ps4 and Iād like it to not explode.
I kind of hope the series just ends forever after this. Give the story a proper ending without needlessly stretching it out. Nothing's stopping Santa Monica from making a DMC/Dark Souls hybrid action adventure game with a different or original IP.
Tomorrow? You mean tonight?
Iām doing my best now to be a game designer and speed this along. Iāll let you guys know once I make it!
They should postpone the release tomorrow so itās not as much of a gap between games
This is the most half glass empty perspective about a brand fucking new gow game
Damn
Totally worth the wait though.
2027? hoho you are optimistic!
