Hey. I know it’s sad. There is a lot of sad in this world. But this world is HUGE, look at the size of this planet, there are so many different countries and people and cultures spread out across this planet, and there is a lot of good that comes with all that. More good than bad. When one awful event happens I try to focus on all the good that is showcased in the aftermath. Like all of the people coming together for Gaby who want justice for her. I even saw someone comment that after seeing all of Gaby’s photos and video, they felt guilty for wanting to visit all of our beautiful national parks. But people were pointing out they shouldn’t feel guilty, because Gaby would have wanted to share the joy of enjoying these beautiful places. So she’s already done good for people by inspiring. Take a break from here for a bit to focus on all the good!

PrettyOddWoman

Who sings the theme song? It sounds like Ozzy Osborne tbh I know I can look it up but why do i feel like Dog is singing it himself ?? Lol

blinkoften

I can’t listen to that without hearing cartman

[deleted]

Osborne wrote it, so I assume he sings it too.

[deleted]

If Dog finds him this fast I will loose all faith in the FBI and LE. I’ve been saying since day 1. He didn’t come home with his parents. They left him there to run, the parents drove the mustang to the reserve. Left it. Called him missing and then went and got it. Hopefully this has already been done by the FBI during the first couple days but if not 🤦🏼‍♂️ https://twitter.com/brianentin/status/1442678570959130629?s=21

RobbieWallis

So let me get this right... People actually think the FBI didn't check road cameras for the family's vehicles and didn't know these three people had gone anywhere? Is that really what people think? And they think this guy magically managed to get hold of such evidence of them staying there, and that one of them didn't leave? I don't mean to be ageist, but Duane is 68 years old. He's the kind of guy who sees a meme on Facebook and immediately believes it's true if it aligns with his existing biases. I'm not really complaining. I think it's probably a good thing if he's off chasing Facebook memes and anonymous faxes, rather than meddling in a case as serious as this.

[deleted]

What exactly are road cameras, CCTV? They’re not very prevalent here in Florida except in the larger metros. Certainly wouldn’t have them in the suburbs.

[deleted]

go look at google street view of some of the major intersections in the area where they live. Look at the stop lights. You will prolly notice cameras up there. Odds are they are traffic cameras or Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). ANPR cameras are often found in intersections that can automatically read and analyze the license plate numbers from a vehicle. Like speed cameras, these come in mobile and fixed versions. These are not cameras used for ticket issuance but for tracking the locations of certain vehicles and drivers. These ANPR cameras can pull vehicle and driver information from government databases. These are commonly used by law enforcement as they can leave their radar cameras on in their cruisers.

[deleted]

That’s what I’m saying. I’m hoping the FBI did go there first thing and can see the logs where all three of them checked in and two of them left. The source says when the parents left BL wasn’t with them. But the FBI hasn’t said anything about searching that site and no one has come forward from there. Not saying they have to tell us anything, I just feel like something would have come out of there by now about them at least searching it or questioning employees

RobbieWallis

I will gladly eat my words if this turns out to be anything, but right now all I see is an old guy who probably doesn't understand the Internet probably being played by conspiracy theorists and pranksters.

[deleted]

Yeah but then you got to go back and think this guy had a whole TV show catching people that the cops weren’t able to so he’s at least a little good at his job

RobbieWallis

Okay, so a few things... You rarely, if ever, saw the cases where he couldn't catch someone, because it's "reality TV" and it needs drama. You saw what the producers of it wanted you to see. It's a business. They need ratings. Fucking everything up and not getting a result doesn't make for good TV, doesn't make for good ratings and doesn't lead to profit. There are at least two known examples of his "crew" and the producers manufacturing stories that were not true, and which led to lengthy court cases. One of them assaulted a customer at a bar, in another example they lied about being shot at. Again, it was a TV show. It's entirely plausible that he had a lot of help from an entire team of people behind the scenes who were either buying information, manufacturing scenarios or encouraging stories that he could perform well in for the camera, for money, because it's a TV show. The FBI generally doesn't spend millions of $s chasing down car thieves who skipped bail. They have actual serious crimes to investigate and dangerous criminals to catch. Yes, the FBI probably could catch all these random criminals who skipped bail, but that's not their job. Likewise, local cops generally don't have the resources to chase down people who will likely be picked up at some point anyway, because criminals tend to commit other crimes. You don't waste limited resources chasing someone who skipped bail. I feel like a parent having to explain to their 14 year old that WWE isn't real.

starcoder

It really seems like NPPD has shit the bed multiple times with this case. They should have been keeping a closer eye on him (and yes, cops do this all the time even though they aren’t technically supposed to). FBI would have been going off of the case info they collected from NPPD, but a lot of that info seems ambiguous and sus. The whole goose chase in the swamp is starting to look more and more like it was just an exercise for NPPD to play with their toys, show off for the media, and maybe “get lucky”. NPPD claims Brain was at the house when they went there to question them, yet they’ve never actually confirmed and flat out said if anyone actually saw him or talked to him when they are directly asked about it. And now Dog has evidence that three people went to De Soto on the 6th and two people left on the 8th…

drunkoldman58

Agree! NPPD has done nothing but drop the ball at every turn here except when a totally innocent flower delivery driver trying to just do her job and THEN they come down hard, hahaha, embarrassing!!

[deleted]

That’s what I’m saying. Gabby goes missing. The boyfriend is home. Let’s keep an eye on him, it’s not that hard. He doesn’t have to be a POI or a suspect to do that. They could have even said they wanted to make sure that if someone took gabby they weren’t going to come after BL and it was for his own safety. There’s multiple avenues where they could have secretly kept an eye on him

practically_floored

I read that Brian supposedly posted a picture of a boat on his Instagram them deleted it, does anyone know if that's true? Edit: this is being downvoted but I'm leaving it here in case anyone else has the same question

butterflyeffect16

It is not true.

DJDevils74

When I look at the paintings of BL it reminds me of Ezra McCandless who murdered her former boyfriend in the middle of nowhere in the Wisconsin rural area in March 2019. McCandless also loved the outdoors and even changed her name from Karlen to McCandless because she was a big fan of the hiker and adventurer Chris McCandless.

ThisNameIsFree

>Karlen to McCandless because she was a big fan of the hiker and adventurer Chris McCandless. Holy shit, I'm glad you included that because for a while I was thinking they must be related.

cecelia999

I watched that trial. I was kinda scared they were going to walk away free.

braidenshere

I like how the story starts out at Racy's pffft

makeitlouder

What does the “V.” stand for, as in “Gabby and Brian V.”? That’s the name they used in their Dyrt account. Edit: could be GP’s middle name? seems weird to use it like that though

IceCreamCake307

Everyone else is speculating and so I wanna too. I think the most likely reason for V is not because it's next to the c on a keyboard or anyone's grandma's middle name. Imma go ahead and simply speculate it was their 5th camping trip or 5th road trip?

makeitlouder

Hey, as far as theories go… that one’s not bad!

the-mortyest-morty

Probably for "Vanlife" or whatever, I'd imagine. I didn't know "van life" was a thing, but they were both pretty into it.

moldran

His full name is "Brian Christopher Laundrie". V is located next to C on the keyboard, so it was very likely just a typo and they meant "Gabby and Brian C." because the name "Gabby and Brian" was either already taken or they thought that Brian is a too common name.

makeitlouder

My only counter would be: It would be pretty weird not to fix a typo on a site that you’re using actively. They posted there a handful of times

oldlady-

Vinci? I just saw it on [Twitter ](https://twitter.com/whitehatterz/status/1442748007066316802?s=21) Edit- it’s his grandmas last name

Pinellas County is the epitome of FloridaMan stories. There are going to be a lot of calls that are just typical Florida things.

It’s wild to me that you can see details like this of where LE have been dispatched. Here in Australia I don’t think this exists. We can get onto some scanners though

sfsisu

I'm wondering if BL actually spent 3 months on the AT or if that was just a bunch of BS. I know Rose said that he had done it but is she really a reliable witness? I don't think he's as much of an outdoorsman as he claims to be.

HenryDorsettCase47

He seems like a hiker/camper. I haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s well versed in bushcraft outside of what she said. As for her.. I get the same feeling I get from the social media witnesses, and dog the bounty hunter, and the lawyer who posted the reward, and all the other people that have publicly attached themselves to this case. It just feels exploitive.

sfsisu

Agree. She seems a little sus to me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

HenryDorsettCase47

She did on IG. That’s how I found her. I didn’t do a super deep dive, but didn’t seem like they had any pictures of each other prior. That doesn’t mean much and I’m reluctant to jump to conclusions based solely on that, but I’m still suspicious of the “best friends” narrative (think that’s a media invention).

babyblu_e

the AT has shops and places to spend the night along the way, I think his story of surviving on crackers could have been either an exaggeration on his end or a joke that she misinterpreted/ dramatized.. Not to hate on her too much, but she acted very concerned about their relationship in interviews and emphasized how close they were / how often gabby had to stay at her house after fights with BL. It’s a bit strange that she didn’t seem concerned when gabby went radio silent while confined in a van with her unstable boyfriend

sfsisu

Yeah. Same. Btw, anyone have 👀 on her lately?

HenryDorsettCase47

Yeah, you nailed it. She had a post back when it was still a missing persons case that just seemed so strange considering everything. You’d think someone would post a clear picture of the missing person and a little description. She was in the foreground of all of the pictures, one was a gif of them dancing. It felt… childish. Like a person who makes everything about themselves.

babyblu_e

Yeah.. especially with her social media having no posts about gabby until the case blew up, and now it’s only photos or videos of them together and not just gabby. IIRC her tiktok bio last time I saw it was ‘pry into my life all you’d like, i’m an open book. gabby was my angel’ or something along those lines - it just all seems immature and self indulgent

HenryDorsettCase47

Right? I really doubt she had 15k ig followers (or whatever she’s up to now) before all this. Guess it’s nothing new. People have been taking advantage of these kinds of situations for decades. Before likes and followers it was book deals and guest appearances.

braidenshere

That's what I was thinking. BL is only competent in tourist-survival .. there's probably a term for that but i dont know it

makeitlouder

“Glamping” is the term

braidenshere

There ya go. Found a video of her tent but you gotta scroll down, this page is weird. [Look how nice](https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/a0667ea179b14e3992cda32e1ad9ac59) she made everything for him (and her). What a fucking waste god I hate BL

RobbieWallis

People seem to have a certain impression of the AT which doesn't match up with reality. Yes, it's likely to be a challenge for any average person not used to hiking, there are a lot of places that might be challenging and plenty of places where a person could walk off the trail and go missing in the wilderness, but it's a tourist spot, there are businesses and hostels all along the way, thousands of people walk it from students to families to retired folks. We're not talking about a trek over the Himalayas here.

braidenshere

I plan on visiting a bunch Gabby's stops when Gamestop moons. I've been inspired

HenryDorsettCase47

That’s the most Reddit thing ever.

sfsisu

What I'm saying is a lot of people seem to think he can survive in the wilderness for a long time because he has all these mad survival/outdoorsman skills and was on the AT for months. I'm just thinking he's exaggerated or flat out lied about this. I think he's a poser.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

If anything he probably lied to Rose about how experienced he is. Just my opinion.

fearofbears

Yeah this is what I lean towards.

[deleted]

So they're still looking for him. Man, where the hell is this guy. Sometimes I forget just how vast the country is If he offed himself, I hope he at least left a note behind detailing everything.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

I think people also forget how easy it would be for him to be holed up in a family friends vacation house or something. The family friend alone would be hard to identify, then getting warrants to locate and search all properties....it would not be easy. He could be in a hotel under someone else's credit card. I've stayed in hotels where the staff didn't see me for weeks and the room was booked by another party. He doesn't have to be running in public to be evading LE.

[deleted]

Wow, that is a good point. Especially on the hotel part. To be honest, I feel like I'd completely miss this guy if he were to pass me by. I was also wondering about the ocean; I hope he didn't chuck himself in. The family deserves some answers

Mammoth-Show-7587

DJDevils74

I have the unsettling feeling this morning that the autopsy report will reveal shocking things. I fear when we learn the cause of death many will hate BL even more than Chris Watts. There is a reason why the coroner immediately concluded it was a homicide even though GP had been dead for 3 weeks.

jc21539

A fractured hyoid would do it. Remember how Gabby described the way he grabbed her neck on the body cam footage.

RobbieWallis

It's important to remember that the Coronor in Wyoming was family practitioner and not a forensics expert. It changes from state to state and people can be "elected" to this position. It's bizarre, and stupid, and it's one of the reasons families of victims often seek a second autopsy from a credible expert. Other highly trained experts have commented about the unusual aspects of this particular case, like informing the family so quickly which isn't usually done, claiming to have done a "partial" examination which isn't a thing, and calling in a specialist from elsewhere. Just bear in mind that the Wyoming Coroner isn't an expert and isn't necessarily trained. It doesn't necessarily mean anything, it could just be that the guy handling things there doesn't know enough about procedure. EDIT spelling

amw90

So you’re right about the coroner, but there was also a forensics pathologist there with the coroner

RobbieWallis

As I understand it the coroner calls the shots in their jurisdiction. I'm glad he brought someone else in, likely realizing the magnitude of this case and not wanting to miss anything. Even if I were a thoroughly skilled forensic investigator with decades of experience under my belt I would probably want to bring in someone else, given the attention this case has received and the importance of catching the perpetrator.

thisguyeric

Nobody claimed to have done a partial examination. They said they had a preliminary report, which is perfectly normal and is done in many cases. You can literally Google "preliminary autopsy" and see results from dozens of investigations.

[deleted]

RobbieWallis

I mentioned this yesterday and was viscerally attacked by all kinds of people who accused me of being a Q nut or even attempting to influence a jury. The reality, disturbing as it is, is that several states in the U.S. are unprepared when it comes to investigating crimes like this. People seem to have the impression that coroners all over the U.S. are like characters from CSI or Bones, highly trained in forensics and investigation, when the reality is that a lot of them are just local old men who never even heard of the Body Farm. It sucks. Every person investigating a crime like this should be the best of the best, trained in everything possible to be able to understand what they're seeing, accurately record data and properly gather the evidence needed. A lot of them just aren't adequately trained or skilled.

[deleted]

theangelandtheone

I’ve had this feeling too. Just watching the emotion from the guy who led the press conference announcing they found a body seemed like it was gruesome.

DJDevils74

That's exactly why I have such a bad feeling. Exactly because of that.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

It was likely blunt force trauma or strangulation, both of which would be relatively quick to determine. And both would be horrible.

DJDevils74

Maybe, but why does my gut feeling keep telling me to think of the Travis Alexander/Jodi Arias case ? That was shocking when the public learned what was done to TA.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

Very shocking, but she was very clearly unstable to many people prior, himself included. I think this was more a fit of unplanned insecurity and rage versus something like what Jodi did. She planned it and had clear motive.

blueblissberrybell

I too, am curious to know the reason they were able to determine ‘homicide’ as opposed to ‘cause of death - unknown’. Disclaimer- I know nothing about autopsies or the correct terminology to use.

ThisDrumSaysRatt

I’m thinking if she had been buried, they would be able to declare it a homicide before they could determine exactly how she died. Just a guess though

blueblissberrybell

Was Gabby actually buried or just abandoned in a well vegetated area that was not frequented by campers? Did the authorities state anything regarding that? Sorry if I’m late to the news on that one, I’ll blame being in Aus.

wedneswoes

The photo of where Gabby was found shows ground and grass intact. It looks as though she was laid behind a log. She was behind a few rows of trees, on the other side of the creek from the road where the van was last seen in the camping area.

ThisDrumSaysRatt

I don’t think they ever officially said. The only thing they did publicly say so far, if that they were ruling it a homicide, but the autopsy would determine cause of death. So I was just spit-balling that maybe if she was buried, it would be an obvious sign of homicide. Another scenario would be that the body had some obvious sign of traumatic injury, but they still need to do the autopsy to determine if the obvious injury occurred before or after death. I guess we’ll see once the details are released.

blueblissberrybell

Thanks. I guess I’m just now realising the gravity of the visible injuries that must have been present. I guess I have been thinking Brian must have lost it and killed Gabby suddenly, in a fit of rage. So, don’t get me wrong, is still, completely unacceptable and evil. But if he has continually and repetitively bludgeoned/ attacked her, and that is immediately evident after Gabby being undiscovered for two weeks, then BL is obviously a complete monster. I don’t know if that makes any sense. To add- I’ve been in a very similar relationship dynamic and I’m still giving these narcissists the slight benefit of the doubt! I’m still making excuses for them! Arghh, learning moment. Goodnight from me

Anticrepuscular_Ray

Trust me, I've been there. You know you need to set that boundary, take this situation as your cue.

Anticrepuscular_Ray

I can see why you'd think that but just a burial isn't enough to determine a manner of death. As unlikely as it is, she could have died of self-inflicted wounds and he was so distraught he buried her. This is obviously the least likely scenario, I'm just saying they wouldn't officially declare homicide without evidence present during autopsy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Anticrepuscular_Ray

Of course. We simply don't know yet, even though BL and his family is apparently hellbent on looking as guilty as possible.
