Brian Laundry in the bodycam footage said he doesn't have a phone. Which means he and Gabby were sharing her phone and unless her family and the cops got it, he has it? Where's Gabby's phone? It was during the part where he describes how he pushed her. He was like "she has the phone and I don't have a phone so I kept the keys" or something along those lines https://youtu.be/CpP2e8GQGI4&t=14m00s

zirklutes

No, at the end of the video he took his phone from the pocket. He simply lied at that point.

illsetyoufree

I'm pretty positive he had a phone but no cell service so it only worked on wifi.

Comicalacimoc

Brian Entin: Email from North Port Police just now: “We have received a significant amount of requests tonight regarding a possible capture of Brian Landrie. These reports are unfortunately false. Please rest assured that when Brian is found, we will be more than happy to let everyone know.”

Coder_X_23

Could at the very least BL be charged with grand theft auto? The van was in Gabby’s name and he clearly drove the van back to FL without her permission

benbach77

No, they explained it was considered joint property since they are engaged and were living together. I would think the fact that they were living in the van even further complicates things because then it also becomes their legal residence.

muffinsrising

Where was this explained? This seems insane to me because: (1) they weren't even married (2) marital property only covers property acquired after the marriage. She already bought it

eastend183

Ny post reports today in Rose Davis Interview that Brian had episodes .. “where he would hear things and hear voices and wouldn’t sleep,”. Hearing voices is extremely concerning. Is this schizophrenia? He’s in the right age range for it to develop. Did he have a history of mental problems or reports of odd behavior in his records? He also had posted a paranoid post about worrying about losing her … odd. See: https://nypost.com/2021/09/17/brian-laundrie-was-controlling-had-episodes-gabby-petito-pal/

[deleted]

That "paranoid post" your referring to doesn't really mean anything. People often say being with someone they love feels like they're in a dream

Comicalacimoc

What paranoid post

Hidykns

It was their engagement announcement post 😬 saying it has felt like a dream since he met her and was worried he was going to wake up, so until death does them part or he wakes up….

eastend183

Pretty prescient.

thedrunkensot

Those are really common things to say in the early days of relationships.

eastend183

Pretend-Elk-5494

Have you never heard of people in love saying it is "like a dream"? I'm pretty confident he was involved in her death but focusing on that post is just absurd...

salemsocks

Is it possible that maybe he saw the trip as unnecessary after a while? Since it’s been said that he minimized her desire to be an influencer/youtuber? He wanted to go home and her persistence to do the trip and etc could’ve pushed him over the edge ? Especially since He seems to be heavily narcissistic/controlling. Narcs are extremely selfish. Just a possible thought .

Hidykns

The cops specifically commented on how dirty he was and that he could use a night in a hotel. They commented on his feet and clothing and made sure he had clean “chonies” (underwear) to put on. The cop mentioned a shower to Gabby too, but clearly as a way to relax; her hair and clothes were clean. I think he didn’t mind living in his filth and they clearly fought about it.

foslforever

i mean youre living in a van for months with no access to running water, sounds gross

Pretend-Elk-5494

Do you have a source for this? I haven't seen anything about him being dirty or the cops saying "chonies" which I doubt he would understand....

Hidykns

I think he very much wanted the trip, prob without her needs for basic conveniences. She appeared to keep a lot cleaner than him, still used water bottles, had working electronics. During the DV stop when he heard she may be going to jail, he asked the cops if they would still drive him out the delicate arch in arches natl park.

wandalay

Plus, he posted on his Instagram just as much as she did. He was all about the influencing

Mystery-Skyline

Can someone help me understand how these huge threads work? If I sort by “new” there’s barely any content, if I sort by “top” everything is old and was discussed hours ago.

l_l-l__l-l__l-l_l

they don't work at all. this just turns the subreddit into a broken version of a discord server. the whole point of reddit is having multiple posts on various topics with devoted discussions within that the community can vote on to increase the visibility of the best submissions. whoever is running this subreddit just locked it and squeezed into this totally useless format in a misguided attempt to do something productive.

user_name_goes_here

I totally agree. I was offline for a while and came here to see if anything happened today and found nothing. But then I ran across a TMZ article saying the coroner released a statement? What the hell? This format is awful.

JustJuls37

This!! ^

[deleted]

Also, libraries don't organize by "These are the most recent books we received. Not even the most recent books written, just organized by the time we received them." You would have to dig for hours to find what you're looking for. Libraries organize by categories and authors for a reason, it makes it easier to find what you're looking for.

[deleted]

I'd rather dozens of open threads about different topics. Maybe about common theories and significant events. One thread about the police encounter, one about the dash cam that saw the van around the 27th, one thread about the search for Brian, one for the death of Gabby and the investigation around her cause of death. One about Brian's family, one about Gabby in general. It would help clear things up A LOT. Because then you can look for the thread that relates to your question, and sort by "Top" and probably find your answer. And sorting by top would allow us to upvote facts and keep them at the top. Right now, since it's just general threads that restart every few hours, the top comments are about what happened in the last few hours, not the overall case, and you definitely can't find a relevant topic by sorting through top/best. Really, these general threads have made it MUCH harder to find info. Hell, you can break down threads by a range of dates. "Aug 26-Aug 30" and find the answers you seek much easier. This has to be one of the WORST ways to categorize threads.

rasec321

I agree. I'm sorry, but this sub has changed entirely. I cannot find anything anymore. Before, as you say, people would discuss whatever the post topic was. There has been no posted updates of the case and if there are they are diluted in these 4k comment megathreads.

[deleted]

I just responded to this person too, how these Megathreads have to be the LEAST efficient way to find info. Just create a thread about each important incident/time frame so people can narrow down their research!

xxxpixeldreamsxxx

Yea the boat insta live is crazy…like did someone have his phone and set it up, or is he just dumb?

bria-sea

The boat “live stream on ig” was just made up. It never happened.

xxxpixeldreamsxxx

Oh damn, is there a link you could share?

couragetb

Why would BL not start running immediately after he returned home? What took him so long to “disappear”? Was he waiting for the case to develop and buy time? Who knows what plans/ actions he could’ve made up during those days of non-surveillance

May Brian's first day in hell last 10,000 years, and let that be the shortest. Rest in peace Gabby, My little sister was murdered when she was 5. We never forget, the pain never really goes away, we will always remember you and the many others stolen from us too soon.

BasicBaby

I’m so very sorry for your loss. My brother was murdered last September and it hurts very much. My heart is with all the families of violent losses ❤️

Constant_Basis

I am so sorry for your loss. I know stories like these resonate in a way that no one else can understand.

fiittzzyy

I know words can't touch such a raw event but I'd just like to say that it's tragic and I'm l so sorry for both of your losses in such a way. Nobody should have to deal with that.

SittinOnTheRidge

I’ve been watching [WFLA live stream on YouTube ](https://youtu.be/XPttrgj3cA0) all day. Excellent place to watch for updates and coverage. They’re handling this case with great sensitivity and respect. Highly recommend.

SittinOnTheRidge

They’ve been replaying clips from earlier today throughout the day. I think it’s just to have something besides their faces on the screen. Earlier they replayed part of the streak from earlier and they had “previously recorded” on the top left of the screen. I’ve been watching all day and what’s playing currently is happening now….I’m ten mins behind because I had to pause,I just went forward to what’s currently streaming..they should come back on soon. They’ve gone hours without any breaks.

savycr

When are the authorities gonna file a indictment to this guy so they can change the headline now from finding brian as missing Person to wanted man. Its ridiculous to see over the news that we are looking for him as missing person. not as a suspect. Headline should now be change.

krnl_pan1c

If this is going to be a federal case then the AUSA's (federal prosecutors) will have to build the case for an indictment and present their evidence to a federal grand jury. They will have to prove probable cause to the grand jury and get at least 13 of them to vote for the indictment. To prove probable cause they will have to meet the requirements for whatever they want to indict him for, first degree murder, second degree, etc and prove that with evidence. All this stuff takes time and they have to be very methodical about it so they don't mess up. Once he has been indicted then a warrant will be issued for him and he will be arrested. The grand jury will be whichever one is over the area where the crime took place and he will be extradited to that area once he is arrested. Source: spent 18 months impaneled on a federal grand jury.

shesaysit

18 months!! I want to hear about that. Have you ever posted about it? Can you talk about it now that it’s over?

krnl_pan1c

I can talk about the experience but I can't give any specific details on the cases. Most of the cases were boring but it was very interesting learning how the process works. There were a few cases that I still think about on occasion, wondering how the people involved are doing now. Grand juries are different than petit juries like you see on TV. With a petit jury it's 13 people and they hear one case (or a days worth of cases, etc) and decide on guilty beyond a reasonable doubt or innocence. The petit jury stays for the duration of the case which can be anywhere from one day to several weeks. They see the entire trial, prosecution and defense. They also have to be unanimous in their decision or it's a hung jury. A grand jury indicts people for crimes and they sometimes do some of the investigation of the crimes before the indictment. They hear only the prosecutors side of the story, their witnesses, and then vote if there is sufficient evidence to charge a person with the crime. Sometimes the prosecutors don't have enough evidence to put it to a vote but they will present what they have to get the witnesses on record and to provoke the jury to ask for search warrants, etc to get more evidence. It is made up of 24 people and typically meets for a few days per month or a day or two per week. They only need 16 people (so you can miss a day if you need to) to be present to hear a case and don't need it to be a unanimous vote (only 13) in order to indict the person. The grand jury acts as a check on the government, it keeps prosecutors from charging someone without sufficient evidence. My time was several days a month for 18 months. We had some cases that took fifteen minutes and others that were worked on a bit at a time over most of the 18 months. There was a couple cases that made national news for a bit. There was one that we never could get the "smoking gun" in order to indict, that one would have been MAJOR news and still pisses me off because they got away with it and are still reaping the benefits.

savycr

nice to know its being process now. is it also possible that authorities looking into the parents involvement throwing off authorities with their investigation? the brians family acted suspicious throughout gabbys situation and brian ddisappearance? And in regards to brians case of disappearrance. its impossible for a parent to lay off your eyes to your son and allow him to go outside and hike when they know hes a person of interest of his gf disappearance. Do you think they aided him to plea? contrary to what they told to authority. the timing of how they reported him missing..so late and not contacting the authority right away. they know that theres ongoing investigationregarding their son and it seems the delay of reporting as missing has a purpose that we dont know.

krnl_pan1c

They're absolutely looking into the parents, no doubt in my mind. Federal prosecutors don't care who you are, they'll indict their own momma if a serious crime was committed. I have no idea what's going on with them or if they have committed a crime but they definitely seem suspicious. Being suspicious isn't the same as being guilty though and they seem to be somewhat complying with the investigation, or at least not fighting it. I'm sure they will be thoroughly investigated. They'll be given a target letter if the prosecutors believe a crime was committed, then they'll be given the opportunity to proffer. All of that will happen before a grand jury sees it. This is just speculation from me but it seems like they know more than they're letting on. If they're withholding information that is hindering the investigation then that is likely obstruction of justice. There's also the possibility that they have been cooperating for a while and the public just doesn't know that.

g0rila

I agree with you. I was talking to my Filipino neighbour and he mentioned that if this were in the Philippines, Brians parents would have already been in custody from day 1, and Brian would have been a Wanted suspect the day she went missing. It’s sad and ridiculous to have all these technicalities, processes and rules in our justice system.. it slows down everything. But hey people have rights.. right?

rucho

In the Philippines your neighbor can kill you and say that you were drug addict, and he will go free. "Those who sacrifice freedom for safety deserve neither" or whatever it is

takishan

The Phillipines is a country where they practice extra-judicial killings. This is not something to be proud of.

savycr

his parents aided him to get away. if worst happens to brian like he hurt himself because he cant face the consequence of what he did to her gf...its his parents fault too...why would allow your son hike when they know he is person of interest on his missing girlfriend. if they care about brian and they have no idea what really happen...they should stop their son when he plan to hike. did brians parents thought he might encounter angry vigilante dudes in the hike and hurt their son? only possible explanation why they let him hike is to escape the authorities. thats more valid reason.

infinitelyfinite1

Are you saying you think we should adopt the Philipines style of law and criminal justice system?

Toesblue

The fox live updates report by David Marcus (whoever that is) mentions in his article that the reason we are all so interested in this case is because gabby was an influencer and then relays info about how influencers are lost Types of artists etc. personally, I find that quite highly inaccurate and almost disingenuous to gabby herself and her family. She wasn’t really an influencer, she wanted to be but she wasn’t. She was an ordinary girl who could Have been any of us at that age and yet this along with her dreams is what made her story so intriguing and the need to find her so pertinent. her influencer dreams were just one aspect of her life that were relatively new (dare I say a warped view of safety and security and lack of authenticity) she Was much more complex than that even though I didn’t know her.

oldohteebastard

The interest is out of sheer visibility. Having such a large amount of available information, both pre-crime and post is rare. We're a nosy species and this is prime viewing. Unfortunately.

EvilHakik

It's sad, she never got the chance to become the influencer she wanted to be, she started her journey, and this sick POS ended it on her. She only got to upload one video to her YouTube channel and that POS will forever tarnish her video by being in it. Let her be the influencer she wanted to be in the time she had.

Skatemyboard

Sweet that Red, White, and Bethune want her channel subscribed to, as a tribute. So I did. Personally I hate watching the vid though because the bald fuck is in it.

StationaryWaveRatio

"subscribed to, as a tribute", lol. In what subscribing to this familly channel is a tribute? When you do that you just feed a system and helps it expansion, a parasitic system that uses you and the society for it own profit, without generating anything (as a normal company should do). For youtube, neither you or the uploader matters, its just all generic, replaceable money generators Youtube and american "social medias" really managed a master plan with americans (and the rest of the world, to some extent), making many peoples believe a piece of nothing has a value, like a clic on a button in youtube. And making them generating it own revenues, all by themselves (the producer and the consumer) and at their expenses. This would be almost comical if it was not so pathetic.

Skatemyboard

Her family will get the coveted play button. I think it's a nice gesture. But, you do you.

takishan

While I think you have a point, there is a lot of valuable educational content and entertainment on YouTube that otherwise would not have existed without this new system of profit. I think there are a lot of problems with YouTube- and we should create some sort of decentralized and open source alternative.. but the problem is with the implementation. Not the idea in general.

sophie_coyote

This. Media is painting her as what she wanted to be - not who she was

Minimum-Squirrel4137

Why?

InternationalMoose47

Dude who posted that is a obvious troll who just keeps shitposting. His now deleted comment said "fuck john walsh". And really john walsh is a man who went through a horrible tragedy with having his child abducted and killed and then went on to devote his life to catching criminals of which he caught many of the most dangerous men/women in america. Thank god for John Walsh.

Minimum-Squirrel4137

I know what the OG comment said, I was asking why the “fuck John Walsh.” I mean I feel horrible for what happened to his kid, but I don’t know him personally so maybe he’s super shady for all I know.🤷🏼‍♀️ Edit: ok they’re talking about his wife of 50 years lol Ok yeah they’re a troll.

3-4-MethylenedioxyMA

I’m not a troll or shitposting and I didn’t delete my comment, I met him at crimecon and he was an ass. Also I just looked it up from his wiki page, he was dating a 16 year old at 23

InternationalMoose47

Ok if I google John walsh dating a 16 year old 2 results can come back as anyway relevant. One is a reddit post of someone saying he was in his early 20's and they didn't have a sexual relationship until she was of legal age and then they went on to be married for 60 years at this point it sounds a little different than-3 how you paint it. The other is a fishing forum. A forum about fishing. I'm sorry he was mean to you in the 2-3 minutes you met him. Again his child was abducted and beheaded and he then went on to help catch countless of the most dangerous criminals in the world. I'm not saying he's a saint but compared to your interaction with him at a crime con I'm taking his side that overall he is a good person and has done a lot of good.

3-4-MethylenedioxyMA

I met him once and he was an asshole and also he’s apparently an unconvicted sex offender Edit: Yeah just looked it up he was dating a 16 year old at 23

Minimum-Squirrel4137

Where did you get the information that he was a sex offender? My immediate reaction is to want to defend him based on what happened to his son. But I don’t know the guy and having a murdered child doesn’t necessarily make someone a saint by default, So I guess I wanna look into it myself.

3-4-MethylenedioxyMA

“I never gave much thought to how old Revé was. She was pretty, and she dressed sharp. And there was also that body. We were starting to kind of hang around together. She took me horseback riding, and we went skiing. She was always into her own thing, and I like that. Then one night Tom Roche was sitting around in my place and picked up a copy of that day's Buffalo Evening News. It was a picture of Revé, who had just won an art contest. 'Holy Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,' Tom said. 'There is a picture of Revé in the paper, John, and she's 16 years old.' But you know, she had this way about her. She had a certain presence. And after a while I just got over how young she was. She was way more sophisticated than anybody in her high school and she always dated older guys. She had a fake ID. That's how she got into Brunner's. She was born with high school. She was into art and her horses. And even then, she always seemed very… I don't know, serene. We weren't madly in love with each other. Though we had a good time together, and I relaxed a little after she turned 17.” From his book, he was 23 dating a 16 year old in NY. Now maybe they didn’t fuck but I doubt it and the age of consent was 17 at the time.

Minimum-Squirrel4137

Oh I googled it and you’re talking about his wife lol I mean that’s weird by today’s standards but that doesn’t sound too odd by 70’s standards. And the fact that they've been married for 50 years had a bunch of kids I think goes to show it was actual love and not some kinda grooming pedo thing.

3-4-MethylenedioxyMA

Definitely started as a pedo thing, I don’t care what year it is you don’t date a 16 year old at 23, and she was under the age of consent. If he would’ve been convicted back then he would be on the sex offender registry just like the boogeymen he goes after

jrekalske

Per Fox News live update As authorities continue the manhunt for Brian Laundrie — and the public speculates wildly about his whereabouts — The Post has acquired property documents that reveal a string of recent home sales by the Laundrie family. Hope they follow that money closely.

TheDrummerMB

Weird speculation. They were going through the divorce and seemingly had a real estate attorney on retainer. Hell, even the home they're at now was listed in 2020. They're stupid people not criminal masterminds.

Stunning-Ad-389

Hmmm very interesting. They sold their last home in Venice over the summer for around $150k so nothing impressive, especially for Florida.

Bennybalookus

I looked at that. Their house selling profits are nothing special. Actually kinda weird to me.

amberlynngarcia

Idk if this is too morbid for you all.. but, i'm going to ask it out of true curiosity. What if he shot himself out there and is drowning in the swamp? Would his body digest into toad turd? or What kind of search tactics are used in cases like this? Did they go out there in wade boots? I think they should monitor the border of it for a week until the slime ball gets hungry and they can catch him.

LSUAlly4

They'd rely mostly on overhead helicopters and dogs on the ground. The dogs trained for this are amazing at what they do. They can sense if a person has been somewhere. And would be able to smell him even in the swamp.

InternationalMoose47

Wouldn't happen because with the amount of searchers/search dogs. He could walked next to a alligator and shot himself in the head, hoping his head lands in the gators mouth, and they would have found something. The gun he shot himself with, his shoes, any other clothing, anything he ate or drank in that time, an arm, a leg. He's not in the area he "disappeared". The fact that the parents picked up his car from that location before they reported him missing shows that its a red herring. Something to throw the authorities off what really happened.

rroobbyynn

That's my thought. My guess is that his parents told him to get out of the country.

amberlynngarcia

I agree. I feel like this is a decoy as well. We have a killer on the loose imo

InternationalMoose47

Yes but I feel he’s like a chicken with his head cut off at this point unless he had a very defined plan when he “disappeared”. And the only way that plan would work is if he has left the country on a boat and has connections in that country to hide him. I don’t think that’s likely.

Motality

couple gators could clean him up pretty fast.

tek428

What if he fed himself to the gators?

everlyhunter

They both sound like they are wanting the cops to know they had a fight due to just little things but trying to get water and long trip, but they are still trying to protect each other. So its just crazy thinking she was murdered by him.

LauraPa1mer

That's the nature of an abusive relationship. It's not always fights and bruises. It can be great a lot of the time. But when it gets bad, it gets unhealthily bad. And it's not that crazy to think she was murdered by him, considering... reality. In terms of what is public knowledge about the crime, but also in terms of the reality of domestic violence.

ValkNix

Bruh…… are you aware she is dead and the manner of death was determined to be homicide?

xothica

They probably have English as a second language or a learning delay or something. Why is it weird that DL was potentially in the van? It may be helpful for establishing a timeline, but it’s not inherently weird.

Not weird meaning anything inherently out of the blue. Weird, meaning, it adds up the door shutting video. Clearly shut the door, ran to the front, and peeked out. If the video wasn’t zoomed in, I wouldn’t have noticed. Nor would anyone else.

Brian Entin is going to try to go live on Twitter at 7:30 at Laundries home (I’m assuming since service is non existent at reserve)

BunchNo5671

I just turn on his notifications, so when he goes live it alerts me.
