I don’t mean to sound rude, but as a snow sister fan I’m getting tired of ppl taking things that belong to the sisters such as their songs, special moments, their special traditions, etc. and giving them to Anna & Kristoff. This is Anna & Elsa’s song. Not Anna & Kristoff. This is literally happening in the franchise right now & that’s why the franchise isn’t doing so good. The merchandise sales are tanking, the last two Frozen books that came out are not selling, and the fandom is more divided than ever. I just wish ppl would find ways to unite the fandom, instead of diving them.
Frozen isn’t about Anna & Kristoff. It’s about Anna & Elsa. They are the family here & the more we try to erase fam love & replace it with romantic love, the worse we will become as a society. Frozen didn’t become popular bc of the romance. It became popular because it gave ppl a reason to be happy outside of romantic love. It showed ppl that true love can be in the form of two sisters.
You have every right to make what you want obviously, but maybe consider coming up with new ideas instead of always taking away everything from the sisters & giving it to the romance. You said you agreed that the sisters should be the focus of the franchise but none of your drawings reflect that. Seeing things taken away from the sisters everyday is heartbreaking.
As a married woman, I don’t want my son to think that he needs to erase fam love for romance. That’s not what Frozen taught us. Just something to consider. It’s really hard to see these fansarts literally trying to replace Elsa with K.
That said, however, if you feel recent art is too saturated with Kristanna, I implore you to make some Anna and Elsa pieces yourself to balance it out. I’d be happy to share them where I can if you’d like
I’m not trying to erase the message of the series. My art is just this way because I’m a next gen artist - it’s my niche. Even in most of my arts of the whole family, Anna is usually closer to and more interacting with Elsa than Kristoff or the kids, or in other cases equally between them both. ~lately I’ve been doing a bit more of Elsa and Erling but that’s related to a WIP fanfic~.
I never put down any art of Anna and Elsa together, nor do I try to use my art to tear apart their relationship. I just like using the basis of the strong and loving familial relationship they have to have influence in the way Anna approaches her own family.
Most of my work deals in post-canon and as of now, Elsa lives in Northuldra. While we know she visits often, the second movie was very much about them being ok to be apart and Anna working through her insecure attachment, which was a wonderful arc that really helped me. It's ok for them to lead lives outside of one another, and while you said you didn't intend it, your comment "maybe consider coming up with new ideas instead of always taking away everything from the sisters & giving it to the romance. You said you agreed that the sisters should be the focus of the franchise but none of your drawings reflect that" was rude. Kristoff is a canon character as well and Kristoff and Anna's relationship is very much still an important part of the franchise.
I love this 💕
Thank you 🥰
