Usually it doesn't pay of, also it will annoy you painfully much when your benched keeper does better. It can at times work nicely. But usually it's just pain and suffering.

Mendy had some of the worst stats among all goalkeepers in the second part of the season, I don't think people really noticed how poor he was. They have a solid defence so if you want a Chelsea asset in defence one of their wingbacks is much better. Coutinho as well had a poor end to the season and is a big risk for that prize.

In my view you don’t need Edouard and Raya in that team, downgrading them gives you 1.5 to spend which could make Cash into VVD, James into Trent or Jansson into Dias/Laporte/Chilwell Edit: or KdB to Salah (but my inital take was you prefer Kevin which is risky but a decent bet)

Going with your tip by Doubling up on Chelsea or city defenders is riskier. Instead I could downgrade Edouard & upgrade Cash to Matip which is what I’ll go for now. Personally I find having interchangeable keepers an advantage rather than downgrading Raya to a 4mil option. Brentford’s first 10 fixtures look good

Good luck :) As with myself, I’m sure you’ll make more changes before deadline hehe. I don’t mind interchangeable keepers, but for a total spend of 9.5 I’d go for Ederson/Lloris and 4.0’er or settle with 9.0 across two 4.5’ers. Either way is good, a matter of preference really. In my view Raya+Sanchez is a decent combination for fixtures. Meslier+Henderson/Pickford/Raya is also decent.

Pedro Neto alternatives? Even at 5.5 his past stats don't seem very convincing

If you can find a mill somewhere Ødegaard is a good punt.

I would probably think about different defender to Doherty cause there might be rotation risk. Good pick if he plays though. United double up is maybe little bit too much this early on. Easy way to keep this structure is to downgrade Robertson to VVD. And upgrade Sancho to 8 mil option. This team doesn't have 11.5 mil forward. So if Kane and/or Haaland start banging you should have a plan in place how to get them in easily. Interesting team still. Vardy could still be underlooked asset if he can keep scoring like a god in that age.

Ederson/Doherty and Neto downgrade allow me to get Haaland in place of Vardy. Haaland isn't PL proven although I don't doubt he'll adapt sooner rather than later Vardy as a punt especially with Arsenal in GW 2 (Scored 11 Goals in 14 against them) Its only double United on certain GWs as Dalot would be rotated with Neto and Dalot could be swapped with anither 4.5m Def before GW1 !thanks

Villa have plethora of attacking options so I would be really hesitant of getting him. Unless he sets the world on fire at the start. There is always going to be some rotation risk with Villa's wingers I believe.

You're relying on 9 man rather than on 11. Neco and Andreas are just going to give you minutes played points, so this seems a lot risky to bet on the rest to make up for these 2 players.

I've tinkered with depth and I'd rather bank on potential consistent returns via premiums as well as price rises to facilitate upgrades. Middling players don't really interest me until I can see potential, form, and minutes.

Very premium heavy I'd be prepared to use an early WC with this team if things don't go as planned as your bench is very weak. There is a lot of value at 8M in Mid and at 4.5M in Def

I am taking a punt on Dalot atm I've watched all Unuteds preseason games and plan on watching the remaining fixtures. He has looked dangerous going forward and is linking up well with the team. Maguire as RCB may also cover his defensive liabilities.

I'm seeing very good drafts that are including Meslier instead of Raya or Sanchez - why? Did Leeds sign some good defenders/defensive midfielders?

They have good fixtures, have signed some more defenders and Marsch is more defence-focused than Bielsa. Also Meslier made the most saves of any keeper last year and usually gets a ton of bonus points if Leeds keep a clean sheet.

They have made decent signings, they had injury crisis almost whole of last season, Meslier did quite well in his first Leeds season with regards to BP and CSs, they have good early fixtures.

I'm assuming it's due to their first 6 or so fixtures note there 3 easiest fixtures are all away

I could just downgrade Bailey to Dasilva and get Trippier at the back, but not sure if it’s better. Thoughts?

I'm personally bit hesitant with Chelsea defence. I will probs get 1 of Chillwell/James but not double or triple up. Bailey needs to be nailed to be worth it. Same with Martinelli although he will get decent minutes. I'd probs downgrade Cancelo to Laporte or Chiwell/James to 4.5-5 mil defender to release funds elsewhere. There is also a chance to pick Neco Williams for 4 mil to get another 8 mil midfielder in. Trippier is decent pick but you'd ideally need rotation defender/player for him when he plays against Liverpool and City.

Price-wise, my team is almost identical to yours! Difference is I've gone Martinelli -> Dasilva, Chilwell -> Robbo and Raya -> Ramsdale. I'm not sold on Martinelli and would rather use the money saved to go big at the back :)

Fair play! Bailey is a punt I'm willing to take at that price but I agree there's a big risk involved. Ramsdale I prefer over Mendy as he got more saves and bonus points last year. Also I expect Arsenal's defence to be more bedded in this year, whereas Chelsea lost two CBs and their defence may not be 100% gelled at the start of the season.

Tomiyasu, Dalot, Dunk in that order. If Tomiyasu isn't fit for GW1 I'm going to take a punt on Dalot as he could get some nice attacking returns.

Decent team. I would look at different GK than Mendy. He doesn't really get that many save points or BP. Unless you think Chelsea are going to keep 20+ CSs I wouldn't go for him. Other picks are fairly template but good. Rashford being the most interesting pick. I'm personally more interested in Martial and Dalot from United cause I think their game suits ETH ball better. Not a bad punt by any means.

I wouldn't triple up on Chelsea defence just yet. I'd go Darwin -> Jesus, and 4.5m backup -> N. Williams. You then have £2.5m spare to upgrade Chilwell or James -> TAA (1.5m), White -> Gabriel/Trippier (0.5m) and Mendy -> Ederson (0.5m). That's what I'd do anyway!

I feel like if Ronaldo leaves Ten Hag will try to start the season with Rashford, Sancho and Martial. Not a fan of him either, but it's a punt I'm willing to take, because it's hard for me to believe that he will be in the same abysmal form he was in last season.

Mendy and Robbo IMO. I'd avoid Alisson as he takes up a Liverpool spot and won't get any attacking returns, and Laporte won't get too many either. Robbo on the other hand scored only 6 less points than Kane last season despite playing 700 less minutes - great value there.

As far as threemium teams go, this is pretty good tbf. There's always gonna be some sacrifices as a result but I think bailey in your starting 11 is very risky to be honest. Could consider downgrading mount to free up some funds to upgrade his spot but that's entirely up to you. I'd bailey is nailed and finds form then you're in the money

Ok nevermind, I've just chickened out because of Jesus' ownership and Arsenal's nice fixtures! I'm gonna keep this team saved as an option if I'm feeling brave closer to GW1...

My friend said they are cracking down on competitions and my league was called I need some competition so it might be that. The issue is I've made the league over a number of years and it will be a hassle getting everyone's number to invite them as some are friends of friends etc. I can't really be bothered tbh if the auto renew doesnt work.

Mahrez is a rotation risk IMO but is a great pick if nailed. If you could somehow find 1M to upgrade Pereira to Neto I think it'd be a better team or bench him for a 4.5m Defender who has a higher ceiling. TLDR: Solid Team just offering other options.

Ederson I goal would give you Man City CS coverage I'd rather do that than leave the money on the bench. Also gives you the option to downgrade back to a 4.5m GK later in the season if you need to find money.

I like it! Not going Salah is a bit risky imo and Sancho is a differential but could absolutely pay off if Utd pull themselves together. Team does seem slightly unbalanced to me though. Relying on Pereira in your starting 11 every week is not a good plan imo. If I were you I'd consider replacing undav with a 4.5 to upgrade your defence. Neco to Trippier for example allows you to play a very solid 442 with Tomi, Pereira and a 4.5 on the bench.

Really nice team. I'd take out Ortega as he takes up a City spot, other than that I can't really pick any holes in it!

Solid Team IMO nothing left on the bench with 2 Solid captain options.

I understand having Ortega since he's the backup to Ederson but it also means that you'll have 3 Man City players. So if you end up wanting to get another City player in like Haaland then you'll need to spend an extra transfer getting Ortega out (assuming you'd want to keep the other 2).

RMT please: Mendy / 4.0 TAA / James / Trippier (Coufal) (N. Williams) Salah / Diaz / Kulu / Mahrez (Pereira) Jesus / C. Wilson / Martial Maybe a bit knee jerky with Martial doing good in preseason and risky not going Haaland. I just find such great value in the 8.0 MIDs, and have options to go to Coutinho / Maddison / Mount / other City mid. Could also downgrade Mendy to 4.5 and upgrade a player.
