Great to see Erling taking my FPL Bench Boost seriously. We'll need you brother.

Andlad2459

Yeah haaland is like the only one that can 100% ruin my BB plan

Som3a92

Ofc it’s not serious lol

heksnfjek

It is though. He was in tears, he want to help Norway towards their first tournament since 2000. It was the Norwegian medic who deemed him not fit.

[deleted]

You do not miss two very important matches for your country, as your country’s best player, as “a precaution”. If it is not serious, then I think this is another case of money talking.

heksnfjek

Read interviews with the Norwegian coach and you’ll understand he absolutely wanted to play.

[deleted]

I’m not saying this is the case, but if this was due to money do you really think the Norway coach would lead on to that? Not saying money is being exchanged, but what you’re saying doesn’t prove it hasn’t been.

heksnfjek

Yeah, I choose to believe that based on the info we have.

heksnfjek

Lol

egancollier21

My only SGW player for my upcoming BenchBoost most likely…need him to score vs LIV

asifgunz

I have him scoring a Brace at home. Maybe a Captaincy Punt. Haaland and Punt should never go in the same sentence but this is against DGW options.

fadoo91

But but Haaland loves Norway… Players know which side their bread is buttered

ANSHULGANDHI92

Up their arse

Ramboros

heksnfjek

Jesus this sub has become toxic. It was the Norwegian medic who ruled him out. Haaland was in the coaches room at midnight because he was so upset about it. Don’t come crying if he’s still out next GW.

Responsible_man1958

Haaland was released by City. It was the Norway team doctor who said he shouldn’t play and should return to his club for treatment. This isn’t united or liverpool

Jamkayyos

That doctor is currently lounging on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean doing blow off a stack of fifties.

Puzzleheaded_Ad_281

Haven't City got a physio at Norway just for Haaland?

heksnfjek

Aged well.

fadoo91

We’ll see on Saturday

heksnfjek

No, even Pep has confirmed there actually is/was an injury.

heksnfjek

Stay toxic king

Seldonplans

Didn't take part in their friendly v Ireland either. He'll be a qualifiers or nothing man.

[deleted]

This literally is a qualifier mate…

Seldonplans

Oops...maybe he has a knock.

SSPZwing

Would you risk it? I'm surprised by the number of highly paid players that participate in any sport

occasionallysensible

He's Norway's star player and he's missing their crucial double header against Spain and Georgia that could determine qualification as a precaution? Why would Norway agree to this if he's carrying a slight knock? Surely just having him on the bench would be a major boost for the team.

[deleted]

Money talks my friend.

c_dilla

Some clubs are assholes regarding this as well. Why isn't Arsenal withdrawing Odegaard?

DennissSystem

Not saying Haaland is doing it atm, but really doubt Ødegaard would ever go along with something like that in important games. He called out Ada Hegerberg for not playing for the NT some years back, + he is the captain and seems like a lovely dude overall

LeandroTrossard

You don’t think he’d call out Haaland though? That’s precious

DennissSystem

Haaland is injured, what is there to call out?

LeandroTrossard

I agree. Your point proves he is actually injured. Didn’t realize we were on the same page about that. People are going to be in for a shock if he misses games over this.

edgefundgareth

He was seen going to the physio after the Burnley match so it’s not nothing.

Responsible_man1958

Demented pillock

Crushdog1

\#shocker

Bizarre30

Waiting for that Watkins weirdo

EdwardBigby

Really sad stuff. No greater honour than representing your country and some players treat it like its an inconvenience

ashybarry

That’s not what’s happening here though is it? Haaland wanted to stay and potentially play the second match, it was the team doctor who said no. Haaland has been pretty clear that he’s desperate to help Norway qualify for an international tournament for the first time in close to 25 years, he’s not the one making this decision - neither is the bauld fraud.

EdwardBigby

Fair enough. It sounds like I'm in the wrong here. There's just been a lot of examples of players dropping out of international squads as of late and I question the desire of a lot of these players. It sounds like there's more to the Haaland story than I initially gave him credit for.

ashybarry

No problem and you’re probably right - especially when it’s friendlies or nation league matches. I just wanted to point out it’s not the case with Haaland this time around :)

Pasan90

Dude showed up to the national team managers Hotel past midnight to talk it out. [This is not a dude who don't want to play](https://www.vg.no/sport/fotball/i/76xK6B/solbakken-fikk-haaland-besoek-paa-rommet-kaller-superspissen-meget-nedbrutt-etter-moete-i-natt)

MyBigHock

Actions speak louder than words

labbetuzz

He's played 23 games and scored 21 goals at 22 years old with the NT. So yeah, his actions speaks louder than words.

MyBigHock

Dont think you quite understand what I’m saying my friend. He can SAY he’s desperate to help Norway qualify all he wants. Not playing for Norway contradicts this statement. Again, actions speak louder than words.

Responsible_man1958

He’s injured you pillock

MyBigHock

The amount of naive people here is hilarious

JapaneseJohnnyVegas

He switched allegiance and plays for Abu Dhabi every week now.

c_dilla

He's already representing Abu Dhabi with pride.

lis1guy

Manchester City is still in the title race.. Haaland is rested for upcoming fixtures (CL, FA Cup and Premier League)

Gravelaine

Sure but Norway wants to make the Euros.. So its sounds legit.

cguinnesstout

the report says it is not serious and here you are saying different, still.

Gravelaine

Serious enough to not play for Norway who want/need to make the Euros.

cguinnesstout

Haaland probably rather win the Prem and CL than make the Euros. We will see come April 1st how serious his injury is.

Gravelaine

I don't agree with this assumption, reason why I think his injury is serious enough to not take a chance rather than "being rested". I do expect him to play against Liverpool.

abnsh

[Called it (kinda)](https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/11tsino/game_week_28_20222023_rant_discussion_thread/jcu30qj?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3)

sc00022

I reckon a lot of these international break ‘injuries’ come from players playing with minor injuries that their club were using injections to help them play through. Then when they join up with the international squad the medical teams are more cautious and don’t take the same risks. We know Haaland has had a few niggles throughout the season so I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the case.

Antiloooop

Fuck City. Haaland sacrificing Norway. Horrible.

Responsible_man1958

Loads of sly comments in here about Haaland. Despite his injury he was actually released by City and Norway sent him back. Unlike Rashford. Unlike Nunez.

nick2k23

What’s the point of theses international breaks when all the players pretend to be injured anyways.

cowabunga_dude91

Rest is a best fuck international football

c_dilla

What a surprise.

Swedishpower

Hopefully Pep gives us clear info about if he will start vs Liverpool or if he is ruled out for 1 or 2 weeks. Probably not so we all wait with transfers and the servers go down after the news is out that he is not playing.
