What is that torch????
St. Trina's torch. It scales with faith and gives sleep status.
Amazing. Love how even after hundred hours there are still so many new things, to discover in the game or rather about
Yeah the attack so cool
I wish the frost torch worked in a similar way. Unfortunately you cant blow the frost flames everywhere
Frost… *torch*? Where is this? On NG+2 and haven’t seen it yet.
I really wish i could tell you the exact spot. Its been a while since i last saw it. Its somewhere in the Nokron area i believe. Im sure youtube will have the specifics much better than i can give
I am just there. It is on the 1st rooftop on the right in Nokron. You can see the blobs for the very first time. U need to jump off the ledge to the rooftop.
The torch has the same evil flames as the deathbird greatsword.
You are the hero we need
It's a ghost flame torch .. burns white but doesn't do the brearh or flame attack you get it going through the meteor hole before entering nokron it's a tricky jump onto some roof tops
That jump forced me to realize that you had to keep sprinting while hitting the jump button. I'd played through the entire game *multiple times* while always letting go of sprint to hit jump before realizing that some jumps required your thumb to hit two buttons at once. It made leaping so much easier, lol.
GhostFlame Torch. You’ll have to get it BEFORE you drop into Nokron I think. Meaning you have to start from the crater and work downwards and it’s there to the right on a rooftop as soon as you see the city
[Ghost Flame Torch](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Ghostflame+Torch)
The ghostflame torch is pretty early on your way to Nokron. It's to the right on the first set of roofs after you go into the crater, I think.
Nokron. When you first access it, to your right, there is a pretty far jump to a steeple where you can find the item on the rooftop behind it.
Yeah, the Ghostflame Torch is so cool and has really good magic damage. I'm holding out hope that DLC will introduce a nice torch AoW to make it viable.
Would be so fun for intelligence builds.
is there a reason to use the trina torch over the trina sword???
Sword scales with INT, torch scales with FAI. Beyond that, move set.
Apart from the other responses, the torch also casts light.
Yes, in pve, if u face 1 or a crew (if u say for AoW, idk)
I can't remember the exact location. But it's at consecrated snowfield. It's a chest from the caravan. But not the one guarded by the Night's Cavalry. I'm sure there's videos that can help you find it
My guy fat rolling with RoB 😂
Yeah guess he thought he didn't need to dodge boy was he wrong
I'm pretty sure he was just falling down the stairs.
I mean he did do that but he was totally fat rolling in the corner
Torch and hammer build?
I shake at this sheer display of chadness.
Do they get the dual wield moveset?
Unfortunately not. But it gives sleep build up and pure fire damage tho. Which is good for holy resistant bosses. The color is gorgeous too
How do you fall asleep while on fire?
It burns your nerves then you feel nothing anymore
The same way you fall asleep getting shot by arrows, I guess.
Every sword is a sleep sword
Yessss, permanently. >:)
Chappie has entered chat
Lack of oxygen?
The skill doesn’t do damage, or it didn’t idk I don’t read patch notes so it’s a calming warm fire that doesn’t hurt, until the torch itself smacks you
Yeah no kidding the color is so nice! I really love purply animations.
I fucking love swapping between st Trina’s torch, beast repellent torch and ghost flame torch. Turns the entire arena into a club
What torch is that?
Actually torches shared the same guard counters animation as straight swords. I wonder if you could powerstance them if you put the torch in your right hand.
You can't power stance torches :(
ZeroLenny is actually crying from this information
Wait you mean people have to put a little effort into their builds now? Say it ain’t so!
> Try 1 corpse piller ash of war
> Immediately start panic rolling because he didn't one shotted
Where is this fight?
Hallway to the final boss in the Erdtree.
They changed the look? I swear it didn’t look like that before.
The yellow fog gate that appears in co-op makes it have a different vibe, but it's still the same
So I saw you have a boss fog on the stairway down to the throne, as well as the final boss entrance.
How does that happen?
You can’t leave that area once you have a summon
Oooh that’s what it is
Still does a decent amount of damage. I’m glad it’s finally balanced 😌
For sure. It’s not useless, it’s simply not the most powerful pvp weapon in the game anymore. I’m still gonna use it to beat malenia, even though I just read morgott’s* curved sword is really good too.
Oh whoops. Thanks
You should also look at a dual twinblade build. I got 2 Gargoyle Twinblades and applied bleed to them (seppuku on off hand and bloodhound step on the main). Not only do they have a decently high bleed to begin with, when you do a jump attack it hits 6 times. I've found it is way better to apply a bleed proc than Corpse Piler even before the most recent nerf. Also pair with the talisman for extra jumping damage, Lord of Blood's Exultation, White Varres mask, the black feather armor (I think, whatever one increases jump attack damage) and either Millicents Prosthesis or Rotten Winged Insignia. Summon your Mimic Tear with that build too and you will melt through Malenia.
I haven't seen much of it since the update but playing today it felt good still in PvE just not as OP.
Mohg's Spear, however... Hard to land in PvP if they see it coming but if you get them in range it hurts. OP for duels.
Flaming Strike is really good but the Lucerne and its 'fixed' piercing damage might have interesting potential vs turtles now
Morgotts curved sword has always been very very good! Same with Mohgs Spear!
Fat rolling check
Healing in a corner check
RoB without thinking check
We got a meta chaser. There's pvpers who can use ToB then there's this tier of invader
Warms my heart to see
Indeed. Dude relied on RoB so much that he had a heavy load and thought he didn't need to dodge.
I admit I use RoB, but damn at least be medium so you can dodge. Bloody Helice is my alternative weapon… dat dynast riposte
I've stayed away from Elden ring after i got platinum. Can someone say what the patch did?
I can't remember all of it but here's the cliffnotes:
Rob weapon art does less damage and blood buildup
Bloodhound step and Quickstep has less I frames if used consistently
Stars of ruin tracking is less
Greathammers and other weapons can dodge easier after an attack
U can fight an noc to finish varre questline instead of invading
>U can fight an noc to finish varre questline instead of invading
Bruh I just killed him before the patch. Was doing my endgame checklist and decided to forgo his questline cuz I didn't wanna bother doing PVP.
Damn, that sucks. You didn't even have to pvp tbh, you could have invaded and then used the severing finger to leave each time, still counts.
> cuz I didn't wanna bother doing PVP.
You never had to "actually" PvP for his questline, only invade. The quest didn't count whether you won or lost, only if you entered someone else's game meaning you could invade and then as soon as you spawn in use the severing finger to return to your world and it would count. Do that 3 times and you would advance his quest without ever fighting another player.
Unless it changed (besides the addition of the NPC, ofc) since I did the quest for the first time you don't have to *win* the fights it was just a three invasion checklist.
Actually made me interested in PvP. I was "Forced" to do the PvP but win or lose I was still making progress and it let me see how fun it can be.
You don't have to do his quest either to get to Mogwhyn Palace, there's a teleporter in the Consecrated Snowfield that will take you there. Also, you can immediately sever finger after invading all 3 times and it will still progress the questline if you don't want to bother with actually fighting the host and fingers.
Yeah but that's end game area. Using varre you can get there very early
I've done 4 playthroughs and have killed him immediately my 1st 3rd and 4th journeys. Step out into limgrave, murder varre, play rest of game.
The way I do that part is hit invade and go afk and do whatever. Then I return after a while and repeat two more times.
"Rob weapon art does less damage and blood buildup Bloodhound step and Quickstep has less I frames if used consistently"
FINALLY, IT'S ALL I'VE EVER WANTED
Rob weapon art does less damage only in pvp or it counts for single player too?
All around, but just part of the attack gets the hard nerf. The actual blade does more damage and helps bleed proc better.
Ah you can also invade or place the summon sign from the small golden effigy from anywhere if you choose the option too. (So like you could be summoned to azula even though you're in Miquella's haligtree)
Thanks for the heads up.
You are happy because you don't have to fight spammers anymore. I'm happy because I can finally do Jetstream Sam cosplay without being an asshole. We are both happy, thanks daddy Miyasaki.
Right? I am addicted to my “Bloodborne build”, and I wanted a “Chikage”. Felt cheap using ROB even though it’s pretty much exactly like Chikage. Had to resort to Uchi with blood slash lol not anymore!
I've been holding off on leveling arcane and doing bleed for this exact reason. I had an interest at the beginning and then I learned how strong bleed was.
This has nothing to do with the patch lol. That person would have died if it were yesterday.
That makes this post even better for some reason lol
All we see here is a host and his summon ganking an invader. The patch did not change the outcome here.
Torch and hammer is just to good, regardless of your opponents weapon.
That poor red was clearly a new invader and very bad at it
If you fight elden beast always use blackflame tornado. It shreds him.
Ooh, that's good to know. However, I am unfortunately the I am a person who is too stubborn to stick to a certain theme when it comes to builds lol. But I will for my black flame build tho lol
Dude was fat rolling 💀
It's about time RoB got the nerf, that thing was a pain to go up against in pvp and it was too easy to use in pve
I only used it once in PvE, a few days ago do beat Malenia for the first time and be the last big boss I had to beat after finishing my first play through finally. It was crazy how trivial that plus the mimic made the fight.
"B-b-b-b-b-b-but it's part of the game!!!!! FromSoftware intended it to be broken as fuck and for me to be able to abuse it, otherwise it wouldn't be part of the game!!!!!!! I'm glad they didn't listen to you guys or else I'd need to actually get good at the game and I don't want that!!!!!"
I wonder what fucking excuse these idiots have this time since it's been nerfed lmfao.
Either people didn't get your satirical comment, or there are actual butthurt PvE-only RoB chumps crying that they can't delete bosses spamming L2 for 10 seconds.
And fatty rolling lmaooo
River of blood got nerfed ?
Yup! Less. Bleed buildup and less damage too edit: for the weapon art
LET'S FUCKING GOOOO. It was about time
Ah, they also nerfed bloodhound step and quick step I frame's. As well as stars of ruin tracking
Why quickstep though? Quickstep was supposed to be buffed cause no1 is using it.
It did get a buff, too. It has better tracking, meaning you can circle around someone much quicker. I’m just waiting for someone to do some kind of backstab build with quickstep being able to just rotate you in half a second from someone’s front to their backside.
Im so much happier for stars of ruin honestly. Fuck that spell
I didn't either, what's up with the patch?
Corpse piler and bloodhound step where both nerfed.
RoB is still heavily effective, just not as much as before. Unfortunately for him, you two ganked him in a small area.
Nah, what spelled his doom was the fat rolling. But the 2 v1 didn't exactly do him any good either
It's still a good weapon, but it's at a point where it's maneagable for those going up against it so that you aren't at a huge disadvantage if you aren't maining it.
Does this torch still proc Bloodflame blade?
I can't say. I've never used the spell (it is a spell right? Lol)
[here](https://youtu.be/j0xAx4DzKbM) is the video 3month ago. I can’t test it at the moment.
The fact he was also fat rolling was not helping him either.
Wait you can do that with torchs!?😮
this is beautiful
Fat rolling in pvp lmaooo
Cool set up but bro is that Marikas Hammer? My guy thats going to HEAL Elden Beast
Why inst he yellow ?
Oh how the mighty have fallen 😆
Eh parrying RoB is still easy now i wont have to worry about damage as much tho
Dude uses fat roll...
that guy is fat rolling...do you really expect he reads patch notes?
dude was just bad lmfao
Definitely a new player to the soulsborne series with his fat rolls and rob XD
Those saying that its still really busted are just straight up wrong... The blood part of the attack does piss poor damage and only the blade part does good damage and bleed build up but that just makes the weapon art into a Double Slash with extra steps.
The chad rivers of blood user sticking to his convictions even after a nerf
RoB spammers are in shambles right now
Even before the nerf this fight would have played out the same.
Ganging up on an invader, that's cash money
Teabagging said invader when you inherently have a massive advantage? That's so not cash money.
Exceptions are made for RoB users though.
Our friend here was invading in the hallway before the final boss, so I can't say I feel especially charitable towards his plight.
I love watching invaders get killed, f them
My absolute favorite part of patch day I save the clips and fap to them later
YES! finally someone else using the sleep torch. Hats off my drowsy brethren.
Using a nerfed RoB AND a fat fuck? He had too much confidence with that bloody katana
Imagine fat rolling with a katana and no offhand….
They would die anyway.
This makes me so happy
RoB user vs Elden Beast Sword user
Yeah im that guy, unless you know how to roll at the same time ill be breathing into you by the time you're up
(Im literally new to pvp)
I don't get the upvotes and positive comments on this:
1) The patch didn't change anything in this situation. RoB hits with the blade part, this means the damage is pretty much unchanged
2) The host and his summon gank the invader
3) Even pre patch the invader would have been staggered to death
Shhh... let the kids have their fun, within 2 days they will go right back to bichin when they realize nothing has changed
With the change I can just roll away from the blades and I won't get bleed proc'd instantly by the bleed slashes.
Corpse Piler still hurts, but its more balanced cause you have to actually be up-close to actually dish out the damage.
That's true, but how does this relate to the video or my comment?
This sub sure does love to publicly bully people for their builds. Very welcoming, definitely makes me want to get involved.
Well to be fair, this is the same game where toxic players exploited the afk farming.
I'm sorry, but what does feckless mean?
Teabag a 2 v 1... You're a noob
or they did and they just want to have fun with the weapon they like
edit : i legit don't get why I'm getting downvoted; i was just making a hypothesis
The issue is the invader didn't seem to know about the RoB changes and went in half-cocked (and fat rolling)
Makes sense to me
take my upvote. play the way you like.
Well that is in the realm of possibility. Although I don't see why he would be heavy rolling away in a panic state lol
What about patch notes?
In case you don't know, Rivers of Blood got nerfed in patch 1.06
I’m honestly looking forward to this. I’ll admit I depended on bloodhound step too much outside of pvp and intentionally didn’t use it in pvp because of cheapness but now I’ll have to altogether switch to quickstep and learn all over. Gives me a reason to replay and practice.
I had a Reddit account in the 8 month lead-up to Elden Ring, posted a lot here, but found the game disappointing for PVP, especially thanks to BHS/Moonveil/ROB. So I left & deleted.
Today I have created this new account, because someone sent me this video. It is finally time to enjoy this game properly. :')
Ooh, I'm glad to hear that. They also nerfed bloodhound step and quick step (less I frame's if spammed). The tracking of stars of ruin is also nerfed.
"Sleep now in the fire!" - Zack de la Rocha
That was a beat down. Just wailed on them onto the corner lmao
And the real dick is that tea-bagging bullshit, how tacky and childish.
I used RoB for PvE for quite a while and it definitely needed a nerf, I think two corpse oilers killed margit for me on NG+3 which is pretty ridiculous. I ended up switching to a keen uchigatana with unsheathe and blood flame blade, so much more fun.
Lmao these posts give me life
Can you post your full build
to be fair, he was trying to smack yall with the blade bit. Which is practically unnerfed. And fine that way, btw. Double slash is also good.
Oh? Did they put the patch notes in the game somewhere?
did they nerf rivers ofblood??
Yup! Less bleed and damage for the weapon art. Nerfed bloodhound step and quick step too. And stars of ruin
What changes were made to RoB
Ok I haven't been paying attention to this games meta since It came out, what going on here?
Would have been hilarious if he had bloodhound step. Whole build was crushed before his eyes
It is still pretty good. I was testing it out this morning.
Did they add a staircase???
I don't remember there being a staircase
So is it nerfed for only pvp, or everything in general?
what’s that build and gear? it looks sick
the only time I tried Rivers of blood was for my jetstream sam cosplay and even then I could never kill anyone in PvP because everyone already knows the moveset and Dodge like agents from The matrix. now that it has been nerfed I think I will just delete that character because it was already hopeless. I much prefer the heavier weapons in PvP
(Is it weird that i only use corpse piler on npc hordes? cause in pvp its alil too slow for my liking). Honestly the heavy equip was the final nail in the coffin. Man thought he was playing 1.0-1.02 or whatever versions where bleed was over powered as hell and tried to bulldoze his way through with corpse piler
As a rivers of blood user I love this pvp patch
At least now I can use RoB in pve without it being too op and ruining the experience. I like it for the design. (it's my 1st playthrough and I just got RoB after the patch)
I used Starscourge greatswords until now.
Damn. That’s a huge nerf. Funny tho 😂
RoB really wasn't hard to parry but guess I'm glad it's nerfed.... I dual weild them for the fashion anyway lol
I think the best part about this is the dude slowly rolling away, is this international or does this guy have no clue what he's doing?
Never understood why people teabag in a gank
Rip bloodhound step Player
