Changes in appetite?
By - pacertest1
The same happened to me. During the first weeks my appetite increased a lot and I was concerned given the bulimia I suffer from, but now it's kind of stabilizing (I'm on venlafaxine since a couple of months).
I was crazy hungry too. I’d even wake up in the middle of the night starving. I gained 10 or 15 lbs within a couple weeks. I changed to taking my dose when I wake up and it readjusted my hunger with my natural eating cycle and I’m seeing the scale go back down again.
You could try taking your dose at a different time to see if it works better for you.
15 lbs is 6.81 kg
Initially it reduced my appetite. My doctor asked why I smoked weed and I told him it was because without it, I didn’t get hungry and it helped me eat. He responded with “well, most women are excited about the decreased appetite.”
Now that I’ve been on it for a few years, I don’t think it has as much of an impact on my appetite. I’ve realized my period/cycle is what impacts my eating the most.
I don’t know why your psychiatrist told you that. Interesting read. https://www.health.harvard.edu/mind-and-mood/antidepressants-tied-to-weight-gain
