Got a bit of a conundrum, and hoping for some outsider perspective. We have a 3-way tie at 9-5 now. All 3 teams are in the playoffs, but need to determine seeding. First tiebreaker is H2H, 2nd is PF. Here is the breakdown:
Team A (2838 PF): 1-1 vs Team C, 0-1 vs Team B
Team B (2760 PF): 1-0 vs Team A, 0-1 vs Team C
Team C (2732 PF): 1-1 vs Team A, 1-0 vs Team B
So, who wins/loses the tiebreaker?
C, B, A based on your tie breaker rules.
Use H2H but as a %. You have to do it this way because of uneven games played.
Team A is 1-2 vs B and C (.334)
Team B is 1-1 vs A and C (.500)
Team C is 2-1 vs A and B (.667)
Team C gets first available seed and we break the next seed with H2H between A and B.
Team B was 1-0 and gets the second available while A is the last available.
Well, depends how the H2H is decided. If the record is 1-1 like Teams A and C, then it goes by points after that, than this is really easy. Team A is 1 seed, C is 2 seed, B is 3 seed. Based on H2H then points.
If its weighted or if losses dont count or something, it gets more complicated. If losses dont count and its just based on H2H wins, it would go Team C as 1 seed, A 2 seed, C 3 seed.
Hope this helps.
Kinda helps haha. It sounds like essentially A has tiebreaker over C, B over A, and C over B, which leaves everyone even. Then, it goes to PF.
Jesus this is why Pf should be the only tiebreaker. I would think C should win it since they are 2-1 overall in this group and the others are 1-1 and 1-2. And then PF is irrelevant but I’m not sure if that math to calculate this would actually be more complex
Yeah, it's tough. If you don't use H2H, then the matchups are sort of irrelevant, outside of your overall record. But when teams don't play an even number of games, it throws things off.
Or… C bears B cuz of head to head straight up and B is out. And then A over C becuase they tied 1-1 and A has PF. I think I’d do with that answer
do it. go for the championship
Im personally not giving up a 2nd I think Pitts is worth Waller/Lockett/Renfrow.
Counter a 3rd instead of the 2nd imo. But it seems like this fits your needs nicely.
Hmmm I would do this since you are desperate and if you really think you can win it all but I’d definitely try first without the 2nd.
Does max potential points for draft order outside of the playoff teams count the games played in toilet bowl/consolation bracket when the other teams are in playoffs? Or will teams know their draft pick now?
Probably different for each league, but for mine it’s over and the draft order for picks 1-4 are set as of now
I use potential points at the end of the regular season.
Which regular season fantasy or NFL?
I need just general help with what direction to go in. I went all in this year and missed playoffs in a 10 team league.
QB: Herbert, Lance. Tannehill
RB: CMC, Chubb, Hunt, Henderson, Pollard
WR: Adams, Hopkins, AJB, Keenan, ARob, Bateman
TE: Waller, Irv
I’ll have the 1.04. Obviously this year was a huge disappointment. Do I run it back or blow it up and rebuild?
I’d try to squeeze another year out of that squad. See if you can either use the 1.04 to move up in the draft for another RB, or see if you can trade for an older RB like Mixon.
I definitely think you're in a spot to make a run, this is a strong team. Obviously had a lot of things not go your way this year.
I have the 1.01 and 1.02 in 2022.
Here’s my team (1 qb, ppr, 10 team)
Qb: Rodgers and Burrows
Rbs: Swift, Jacobs, 5 or 6 bench nothings
Wrs: Lamb, DK, AJ Brown, Mclaurin, aiyuk, juju, Julio Jones
TE: Kelce, Goedert
What do I do with the picks? Take the top 2 backs? Sell for something saucy?
Definitely explore your options. If you can land an established top running back you might want to do it.
Nice team man you’ve built a beauty. I’d say you’re right on as to what you’re thinking take the two backs and enjoy lording over your league for the next five years lol.
Wait until draft day. It will be tough but it should pay off. Your best bet is to grab the top 2 WRs but you have a chance to set yourself to start collecting picks year over year. You could look to move back a couple spots while picking up future 1sts
Interesting. Two very different opinions. Is it just because this class might be rb light? I do already own 2 2023 1sts if that changes anything (and a pick swap as well).
No just the makeup of your team allows you to go either direction. Grab the top 2 RBs and have solid depth for the next several years or trade back/down a tier while collecting more picks/proven players
12 team SF tiered PPR, which side do you prefer?
AJ Brown + Teddy Bridgewater
This is gonna be based on your roster. I'd say it's relatively even, so it depends if you need WR or RB.
What does tiered mean?
No way bridgewater is starting next year, right?
ppr pointage based off reception yardage so you can't just rack up full points for 0 yard dumpoffs.
i thought the same last year about teddy but yeah i agree
A: Tee Higgins
B: David Montgomery
I'm biased but this is so easily Higgins to me. He's looked like an absolute stud the past 3 weeks as hes gotten healthy. Even needing a RB I couldnt justify the value.
Gimme Tee unless your WRs are significantly better than your RBs. He’s got a lot more long-term value than Montgomery, who’s gonna have a hard time to find another bellcow role after his rookie contract expires.
10T SF PPR
Kyler Murray owners that aren't making the playoffs this year, what would you want in addition for a Lamar swap?
Having owned Lamar in a SF this year, I’d need a lot to sell Murray for him (like a first and someone based on need). They’re both injury risks, but at least when Murray plays, he’s good for points.
12 Team PPR, 1 QB,
Get: 2022 1.02
Give: Tee Higgins, AJ Dillon
I'd keep the players.
Seems about right value wise (two mid ish firsts for an early one), but I'd keep the players.
Close but no, Im holding on that. AJ Dillon and Higgins both heavily trending up.
Unless your team is stacked then send it
16 team PPR Superflex TE Premium (1.5 PPR) league.
I give: Kamara, Gronk, Roethlisberger
I get: Elijah Mitchell, Cole Kmet, Late 1st
Semi contending roster that just missed playoffs (CMC, Kamara, and AJ Brown injuries hurt)
Looking to get a bit younger, and like what I've seen from Mitchell, but not sure if this is selling too low on Kamara
Not a owner but in a 1.5 PPR 16T league I think this well below a PPR 10T league
I'm not sure that's enough for kamara in a 16 team.
How far off is giving up Christian McCaffrey for Davante Adams in one QB, 10 team PPR? I have CMC but need some ammo to get me over the top. Thoughts?
I’d give him Chuba as a cuff. He is making the playoffs as a 6 seed but his team is weak and injury riddled.
I would not do this
He said no anyway. Lol. Thanks for the input!
12 team superflex half ppr
Give Juju and 2022 third
Get Mooney and Freeman
Give 2022 third and 2023 third
Get Julio and Freeman
I’d take that Mooney deal. Who knows where Juju will end up? 🤷♂️
That's kind of my reason for hesitating. I don't know where Juju will be next year but at least I know he isn't for sure going to be in Chicago.
12 team SF PPR 6 TD passing
I give: MT, Henry
I get: Tom Brady and 2022 2nd
I have a very solid team but my QB 1 is Heinicke...
Probably too much
Ouch, I understand how much Brady would help in the playoffs but this is pretty bad value in a vaccuum. I would maybe give Henry alone for Brady and a 2 but that’s pushing it a bit still
I thought that was a little high.
Gaskin Price check?
If you can get anything, take it
Send Tee Higgins, Receive 1.9. I have chase so kinda want out on Higgins but I feel he’s worth more in actuality then a late 1st
Higgins is worth more than that. Like someone said, you'd just be hoping you hit on a wr that pick that turns in to Higgins.
You are just going to be hoping 1.09 turns into Higgins.
Nah, I’d keep Higgins here. Sure, that pick could hit but Tee has already shown he has the goods.
Not sure why you’d want out since they both have produced well, easy hold for me
Would love to have that floor w Burrow throwing to them
I wouldn’t sell and I own both of them as well
10 team 7 Point TDs 1 QB
Would you pick up Big Ben vs Ten or Tua vs jets over Dak for week 1 of playoffs?
Tua pretty easily for me
12 team superflex
Contender with Josh Allen and Tannehill as only qbs.
Would you pay a late 22 2nd for Mitch Trubisky?
If your a contender I’d probably rather move that 2nd for something that can help you this year
I am a contender. I'm slightly worried about JA's injury and the covid spread across the league . Just not sure if thats too much for an insurance player. Our trade deadline closes today
In a 12 team, I'd probably try and trade that 2nd for someone who will have more usefullness even when Allen is healthy. A Matt Ryan, Cousins, Carr, Tua etc.
I’m looking to get Tyreek off of a team in complete rebuild. I have the 1.05 this year. What else would need to be added to make it even? Deadline is today.
Give 1.05 and ?????
Who else do you have?
10 team PPR SF.
Qbs: Burrow, TLaw, Tua, Jameis, Love
RBs: Chubb, Javonte, CEH, Dillon, gainwell, singletary
WRs: JJeff, Chase, McLaurin, Aiyuk, Landry, Jakobi, Osborn
TEs: Kittle, Mark Andrews.
Ship Kittle or Andrews and Landry to start negotiations. Never know how desperate they are
Doubt it. I’d rather have Cousins pretty easily
12t SF PPR TEprem Rebuilding
High interest in Waddle by contending teams. Have 2 viable option (plus just keeping waddle.
A) waddle for DJM plus 2rd 2023
B) waddle for Kmet, Mooney, R.moore and late 2rd 2022
C) keep waddle
I’d do A
Keep waddle personally
10 Team 2QB .5 PPR
Officially out of playoffs
Get: AJB and 2023 1st
Good deal, AJB if you are rebuilding/retooling.
Locked in 1.02 in 2022 and waiting to see if I get 1.05-1.10 on another pick. Figure I will get one of the best RBs to re-tool
You probably won't get as good value next year or closer to the draft with Kamara aging even though hes an elite asset.
Do I trade Josh Allen for Pat Mahomes straight up in a 32 man? I’d get Mahomes
Yeah. Like Mahomes long term better. Worried Allen’s style might lead to more injuries
I think they are very close. If you want Pat go for it, but if you stayed with Allen, I wouldn't mind that either.
Mahomes all day. He should stay solid even if the Chiefs offense regresses over the next couple seasons.
I think allen trends down as they switch OC and get a rb. Mahomes won’t have hill and kelce forever but I imagine he’ll be fine. I’d say it’s a net zero trade so whoever u prefer
Yes sir! All day give me Mahomie
Posted about this yesterday but situation changed: I'm in a next-year contending state, got destroyed by injuries. My core is:
Dak, Davante, Diggs, AB, Henry, Carson, Sanders, Waller, Ertz (1 QB, half PPR)
A current contender wants Adams (today is our deadline) and is offering McLaurin, '24 1st, '22/'23/'24 3rds, and maybe a '24 2nd. His team is old and clearly should be rebuilding by '24.
The value is great, especially with Adams off-season uncertainty, but I'm worried that Terry won't be consistent next year and that I'll lose my chance to contend by dropping from Davante to Terry. On the other hand, I could make the deal on the basis of value alone and then try to deal Terry and the picks for upgrades next year.
Just to be clear, are you getting three years of thirds or the option of 1? How many teams are in your league? That core looks solid enough but you might need pieces to really compete. I think the McLaurin side gives you more options than keeping Adams.
EDIT: 2024 is really far away, probably too hard to project out.
All three years of 3rds, 12 teams. My options now are to take the deal with Terry (including the '24 2nd) or with Keenan (no '24 2nd included, but maybe a '24 2nd swap)
Ehh that many 3rds kinda just turns into a hassle and thinking 24 picks are too outside your window. If there are rebuilding teams with some attractive pieces, *maybe* you could flip to buy some players in the offseason, otherwise, I'd hold just doesn't make sense given your position right now.
I ended up taking Keenan, Julio, '23 3rd, '24 1+2+3 for Davante. I know davante fits better, but Keenan is a locked in 15ppg and I think his game style is perfect for at least another couple years, and there is stability in his QB situation.
With Davante, I think he's a top 10 wr on talent alone, but what makes him top 3 is the insane GB scoring offense and connection with Rodgers. I expect the GB part to end this year and there is a small chance he ends up with Rodgers. My core should be good enough to make playoffs next year, and from there those picks and Julio are some assets that help me address injuries and needs for contending.
Also this team has an incredibly old roster, so by '24 I expect those picks to all be top 3. I can use that info to upsell them or hold and pick. Lack of depth really hurt me this year
Seems like a good haul and sound rationale. Best of luck next season!
Thanks for the help!
I think you can turn that down. I agree with you about Terry.
I just 2024 is a long way off and I see the value but it’s not enough of a value at the moment to make it worth while if u intend to compete. Terry could get a qb but is likely a rookie. I think his value will be static or decreasing personally. I’d hold adams for look for another win now asset to go with terry/ better pick value.
Yeah I countered with the same picks and Keenan instead
Diggs and Swift for Taylor.
Trade deadline is tonight 😬
I am probably the minority but I like Swift and Diggs better. I think they are still top producers. Swift is below Taylor but I think Diggs more than makes up for it.
I just don’t think he ever repeats last years numbers at this point. Allen just isn’t giving him catchable balls and he’s only getting older
You could argue JT repeating is just as unlikely. He’s been that good
The Tds maybe but I think the production will be there
Agreed. I think Swift and Diggs is certainly decent value either way
That is true. I just like how he runs routes and his catch ability.
But, getting Taylor is pretty sweet, so no problem with that!
Might get you the 'ship, but it's expensive. What's the rest of your team and format?
10 Team PPR Superflex
12-2 and 1st seed for playoffs and they start next week.
Qb-Jackson, Stafford, Rodgers, Heinicke
Rb- Eckler, Harris, Swift, Hunt, Pollard, Damien Harris
Wr- Jefferson, Diggs, Samuel, Diontae, Lamb, Metcalf, Evans
TEs- Kittle, Kmet
Wow lol with this squad you can afford it, I would normally say no but since you are a clear favorite, I say go do it. You are hurting at RB
I say do it, get your bag
Would I look like an idiot for offering Allen Robinson and a 2nd for Aiyuk?
Not imo. Aiyuk and Debo play different roles in the offense, Deebo and Kittle are more similar
Ya that’s definitely a little strong for me. Always going to be second fiddle to Deebo
