MyNameIsEthan123

Unexpected, but I’d rather it be now than later, rest up. Pretty weak offenses these first few weeks.

RosewellEndswell

Right, hopefully he is healthy for the Steelers game. That is when we really need him.

GCBroncosfan413

Steelers O sucks too, Ben couldn't put the ball 40 yards down field, that pass rush is fucking terrifying though

RosewellEndswell

It’s hard to judge the Steelers game because Steelers and bills have dominant defense. For now, I am only gonna say the Jags will be a cakewalk for us.

msching

> For now, I am only gonna say the Jags will be a cakewalk for us. Why does this sound like a trap? ..

TheGreatSpagett

If anyone here isn't nervous for the home debut of Trevor Lawrence, I'm jealous of their optimism

Natural-Macaroon-271

Week two is too early for a trap game. Everyone is still pumped up about and ready to go. It's like week 6 or so I think that you really gotta start worrying about these.

ZumiTaire

Overconfidence is never a good thing.

GCBroncosfan413

The steelers will be a good team because of defense and therefore a tough game but the decline of Ben isn't new news and they lost pieces on O. With how stout our run D is I am really not scared of the Steelers O

jadestem

I remember this one time in 1997 that I thought the Jags would be a cakewalk for us… (Obviously this is much different, I’m just emotionally scarred still.)

Hinhan-osnite

We don’t talk about that game around here.

Geog28

I was expecting it. Was only a matter of time before a starting CB was injured. That's the main reason I'm not upset with PS2 as a draft pick.

TableForGlasses24

And this is why you don’t trade Fuller for a 3rd or 4th round pick…

BWasTaken

RIGHT?!

720everyday

Came here to read this. I would have freaked if we traded cornerback depth after last year.

Richardohyeah

At least we have plenty of CBs...time to see what PS2 can do with more time

bdporter

[Knock on wood] If there were any positions we could afford some (relatively minor) injuries, it would be WR/CB.

RosewellEndswell

We already being tested man.

Broncos-58-24-7

yah :/

almond-head

Crazy that we have Ojemudia too. Not sure who's coming back first success both probably have similar timeframe from the hamstring.

anonbutler

Hopefully we should have him by week 4 vs Ravens.

qergttj

Hmm. Seems a bit overkill to IR him for an injury that'll only take 3 weeks Edit: Nevermind. New IR rules

Top-Elderberry

With the new IR rules you can retrieve a player off of IR after only three weeks and you can bring back as many players as you want. If Darby is going to miss 3-4 weeks then there’s literally no downside to putting him on IR, it just frees up a roster spot for a healthy player to fill in.

bdporter

I really hope they make these rules permanent. Especially the unlimited players part. It really sucks when players are out for the entire season just because you have already returned (or plan to return) two players.

qergttj

Yeah I was under the impression that you could only return 2 players still.

Top-Elderberry

Thankfully they changed that for the better, we should be getting a big boost in about 3-4 weeks with OJ, Darby and Boon all coming back and Jeudy potentially also getting back 1-2 weeks later. I’m just hoping the rest of the team stays healthy though.

qergttj

Definitely agree. It sucked if you happened to have a few really good players on IR and were forced to pick one over another

bdporter

It is actually nice to have some of these players getting healthy at that point in the season. Thankfully none of these are season-ending injuries. 🤞

BroncoFanInOR

I had completely forgotten about Boone! He will be a nice relief for Williams & MGIII when he returns.

bdporter

OK, so Darby to IR, Hairston to the roster, and Rojesterman to the PS. Classic CB shuffle!

ishouldbeworking58

PS2 is up! Fuller, Callahan, PS2

InsuredClownPosse

Wtf?

anthoDoCo303

The Patrick Surtain era begins After he got beat on that touchdown he did not play another snap now we have no choice it’s time to build his confidence back up and let’s cheer for the man

UmbraTitan

Vic seems Stern but fair. Give up a TD? You're sitting, but you'll get another shot. Well, here it is PS2.

anthoDoCo303

Definitely

the_wakeful

Surtain definitely played snaps after the TD. He was just never a factor in any more plays.

KoreTen

Yeah wtf hahaha he was in the game many times after that, he just didn’t get his number called.

anthoDoCo303

If you’re able

anthoDoCo303

After that touchdown give me his play count from there thank you

the_wakeful

Lol no thanks. If you watch the highlights video on the nfl YouTube page you can find him on the field several times after that TD.

anthoDoCo303

Darn espn radio lies lol they said he didn’t play one snap after that my bad

Halpmeplzplzplz

Well, it's the Jags this Sunday so he gets an easy start.

theBPPE

Chark, Shenault, and Jones are all legitimate NFL wide receivers. He’ll be tested.

kworel

But I thought we were going to trade all of our corners because fuck depth!?

TheGreatSpagett

Paton had the foresight to realize that our team was made of glass apparently

Trevans

So they think this is worse than Jeudy's ankle, since they have yet to IR him? Weird. Glad we didn't trade any CBs now. Hope this doesn't turn out like Bouye last year: play great week 1, get hurt, then never look quite the same the rest of the season.

natziel

He just went on IR :/

Trevans

Ah, okay. That makes more sense. I'm glad they did with the new rule changes. Opens up a roster spot and there was no way he was going to be back in less than 3 weeks anyways.

sdw3489

did he get hurt in the game? or at practice today?

metalfabman

Late in game

The-Colorado-Kid

Man that sucks for Ron. Finally had a full healthy season last year. Was hoping to continue. I'm praying for his health.

UltraVires33

So... maybe Paton made the right choice in the draft after all?

pham_nuwen_

Damn, he played well too, was all over the field and making some big tackles.

AB444

Oh for fucks sake

thelegend17

What are the odds PS2 balls out and keeps the spot for good?

GHamPlayz

High

Sbesozzi

Especially against the jags

codysteil

Surtain about to blow the game up. It’s his time to shine

PleasantLanguage

Good thing we have 15,000 corners.

Live795

Anyone know when OJ comes back?

Brite_4cats

Good thing we didn’t trade anyone like so many were pounding the table for us to do. That third or fourth round pick wouldn’t help us now would it

UmbraTitan

Well that escalated quickly.

ZangWaySolly

PS2 gonna teach Trevor Lawrence a few things 🙂

Puzzled_Jury4982

Why don't they just trade all there depth for 6tg round picks

AlaskanAssassin98

Cmon, we’re not the panthers

Gooobzilla

Wally Pipp

DBroncs1414

Id be shocked. He looked to be our best outside CB in that game.

Trevans

Yeah, if anything we're just less likely to bring back Fuller/Callahan next year if PS2 balls out, which I expect. Hopefully the TD he gave up was just his "welcome to the NFL" moment.

Loboso77

It was just a good route by Sheppard. Drag route is a man coverage beater.

Trevans

True. I thought he whiffed on the tackle or missed a chance to push him out of bounds though, but I don't recall exactly now. Regardless, I'm not worried about it. Happens even to the best corners.

Loboso77

He was over pursuing because Sheppard got a real clean release on the route. When he tried to make the tackle his momentum carried him out of bounds while Sheppard was able to put a foot in the dirt and turn it upfield. It was a good play by the Giants.

Trevans

Haven't rewatched it myself, but you're describing it thoroughly enough to where I'll take your word for it 😅 Something he can learn from. Got to take your lumps sometimes in order to improve.

cptngabozzo

BuT wHy WaStE a FiRsT rOuNd PiCk On DePtH iTs So DuMb

aatencio91

You can be dumb and lucky at the same time. /u/uppercutofjustice would probably talk about the differences between being right and being correct or something like that

UppercutOfJustice

in this case, it's still neither...

ignitethis2112

This is why we have depth y’all. Week two let’s see Kendall Hinton score his first career TD dude deserves it!!

TravisPeregrine

This sucks because it is 2 significant injuries and maybe another with the OL player had a heart incident after the game.

Ok-Ad7279

Hell ya! Lets see him step up!

Sasquatch7862

Anyone else feel like he got picked on a bit? Like the giants didn't have much going but it seems like when it did it was against him. Hopefully Surtain comes in and is the real deal.

Puffy_Ghost

Welp, time to test the rookie.

pexlc

Man, he looked like a stud

ianhockey23

Did Bryce Callahan play at all against the giants? I don’t remember seeing his name

fhrblig

When I saw this, my first thought was "they spelled Bryce Callahan wrong".

LeroiLeRoi

Hopefully in years to come PS2 will speak about how he had to go again immediately after a tough debut and that was the making of him. Serendipity.

Warchild0311

Just as long as he’s ready to go by week 1 next year that when we’ll really need him

mckernanin

He will surtainly start this week
