Coming from a competitive shooter. First of all ain't no way he controlling that recoil with one hand even a 9mm. The ejected casing looks to be 9 mm so it's more than likely a blank. And I think you're confusing sim rounds with blank rounds Sim rounds are used by the military and LE and use real Firearms to get practice in say room clearing basically a spicy airsoft round. Blank firing guns need a blank firing adapter which means you can't put a live round in a blank gun. And yes blank firing guns can be dangerous but only at very close ranges. And yes he did violate the rules of gun safety but it being a blank gun it's just basically a somewhat dangerous toy. I could talk a lot more on this subject about gun safety and when you can violate it and when it's right to violate it.
