What has he written there? I can't decipher it.
"Still good xxx"?
"Always be loyal"?
I see, "still good friends- always be loyal!" but honestly who knows.
I’m fluent in ancient cursive, and you’ve got it correct.
The language of our ancestors
Hey, some of us are still alive dammit.
An Elder walks among us!
no it’s ok… they’ll tell us before they ‘nap’
I WAS JUST RESTING MY EYES
What? You woke me up for that!
Eh hem...have respect for your elders....some of us love our naps. Lol 😉😂🤣😂🤣😉😉
I'm 34 and I love naps.
Back in my day we were forced to write each letter in cursive until it was ingrained in our souls. I've tried to forget, but every now and then I'm haunted by my past. My soul remembers the torture I once endured and once again I am forced write some letters in cursive.
My mum told me she won awards in school for her writing. I always thought she meant stories. On newspapers dot com I found articles that said the awards were for her actual cursive handwriting !
I'm sophisticated & ignorant - I write my curses in cursive
My handwriting is a hybrid of cursive and regular writing.
Same here. Some letters are easier to write with a flow while others are just faster writing non-cursive.
Don't even start.
More than one, you silly whipper snapper.
Now that my last grandmother passed away I’ll never need to read cursive again.
aaand this is how folks forgot what that sanskrit stuff meant
Is that the cursive itself being ancient or the people writing it?
I’m a vintage millennial, and I was drilled mercilessly in use of cursive. We were the final stewards of a dying written language.
I’ve never needed to use it in my adult life, but I can still read it. My 4th grade English teacher was 90 years old, mean as hell, and determined to pass her knowledge along to us.
Anymore it serves me well in passing secret notes to my wife, and basically nothing else. >!(2uentin and Jammy went to the 3oo on Gunday)!<
Millennial here too, I adopted cursive for my standard handwriting because it was easier to have one handwriting style than switch back and forth for writing school assignments vs. taking notes. Plus cursive writing is faster. But I'm now in this weird situation where, whenever I have to leave a handwritten note for anyone now, there seems to be a 30% chance they won't be able to read it. I don't leave many notes, so it's been a slow revelation for me, but I think I'm going to have to retrain myself to write in print when I writing anything for other people to read.
I’m a young millennial and write almost exclusively in cursive. It’s faster, looks nicer, and I sort of like that other people can’t readily read what I’m writing down. It’s also more fun for me to write in cursive.
Same for me. But it doesn't look nicer lol. It's just I have, like legit have, ADHD and cursive let me finish writing stuff faster in school, print was just so tedious, and now that I work in tech I don't remember that least time I even had to write a note.
I’m a new graduate and some of my university classmates couldn’t read my profs comments on their work because it was in cursive and I felt old instantly. I was a mature student but only by a few years
That's a shame.
I'm a mid millennial and I remember liking cursive as a kid and used it through middle school. Switched out for high school and never went back. I only just learned I can't read it anymore. My younger partner won't stop making fun of me for it.
Serious question, as an old fart(Gen X),
How do you sign a signature if not in cursive?
First initial *scribblescribblescrible* Last initial *scribblescribblescrible*
Oh shit they know my super secret technique!
Oh, ok. Just like mine!
I think you just want to make it distinctive so it's semi-difficult to reproduce.
Cursive first initial and them some squiggles, followed by cursive last initial and some squiggles.
I used to actually try to make it look halfway decent but my handwriting is garbage anyway so fuck it.
Yeah, my garbage handwriting is what contributes to my unique signature.
Same reason idk how a digital signature works.
Same.. not only do I have bad handwriting, but I also most likely have dyspraxia as well as ADHD so I can only write for like 15 minutes before my hand hurts too much to continue writing regardless if it’s in cursive or print.
Careful, your gonna make em start to think about it.
i was thinking the same thing. Bunch of folks out here signing their name in print like small children.
I feel like there’s also an option just to put an X where the signature line is. It might not exist anymore, but in the past a lot of people who couldn’t read or write would sign documents that way.
ETA: spelling, words
I can remember one of my most embarrassing moments in primary school. I was talking to my English teacher as he wrote cursive letters on the blackboard. As I thought about my Grandmother's handwritten letters, I asked my teacher, "Now that we've learned to join the letters together, when do we learn to join the words together?"
I don't know how long he stared at me without saying anything but it was long enough for me to realise my mistake, comprehend that you don't join the words together, and become so very embarrassed that the memory has been seared into my mind these 45 years...
You should’ve just said your grandma was German. And I’m being so she had joiningwordstogethertendencies.
Damn now I want to join my words together!
W i s hg r a n t e d,n o wa l ll e t t e r sa r es p a c e da n da l lw o r d sa r et o g e t h e r.
Well, I know hell and damn...
Wait... there are literally people who can't READ cursive?!
Most 20 somethings and younger can’t I believe
Both honestly. I’m almost 30 and was in one of the last grades to be taught it in school.
I'm 60 and cannot write in any way but cursive. It also used to be called script.
Username checks out cause I was taught it in 3rd grade and I’m 20 now
I'm 50 and we all hated learning cursive and after like 6th grade everything had to be written in it. I can't even write it now except for my signature.
I’m 20 but I remember learning it in 3rd grade.
Same though, don’t really have a use to ever use cursive other than signing so I never bothered
Can also confirm and I’m fluent in reading my own gibberish, which I believe to be the best qualification around.
We need to be able to post using this font. Zoomers will have no idea what we're saying about them.
I'll never forgive you for reminding me how old I am that I can read that writing!
Haha I ruined the 69
I think that back then, cursive was just a fancy term for people who had really bad handwriting.
When I was in elementary school, i would get a bad grade if my G's would look anything like that.
Yeah. Makes way more sense than me reading: "still good almonds".
But hey, you never know. :P
Still good thumb, hump be bye!
LMAO, this had me laughing way too hard. It actually looks exactly like that
You’re on the money.
Thought it was "still just friends" which i thought was pretty funny
I think it says "Save 10% for the big guy"
How do you git gud at reading cursive without telepathy?
“Still some swans - slump be bye!”
- Joz Belen
This made me cry laugh for no good reason, take my upvote
”Still sord tuonb - Alunp be loyd”
- Ioz Bilen
Still good juans, always be loyal.
Adjusts glasses…”I will never cancel student loan debt lol…joe.”
I think it says, “I got a lot a, I got hairy legs that turn, that that a that that that uh umm uh… blond in the sun. And the kids used to come up and reach in the pool and rub my leg down so it was straight and watch the hair mmm, come come come back up up again and look at it. So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap and I love kids jumping on my lap.” But, it’s tough to tell.
The Obama/Biden memes leading up to the presidential transition were great
🎶 those were the days 🎶
Lmao what happened, why is it no longer open?
"This was a medium-sized sub for Biden fans to post jokey memes about him. During the election it was hijacked by a Trump supporter, who banned many of the earlier users, locked the rest out, and ultimately took the sub private." [source](https://old.reddit.com/r/redditrequest/comments/n1gdw5/requesting_rbidenbro_only_moderator_appears_to_be/gwcuoii/)
I.. can believe it..
Biden: I’m going to leave this in the desk in the Oval Office.
Barack: Ohh that's good...
Both Biden and Obama loved the memes of them from 2016/2017.
Bidenbro memes was hot stuff back then.
Man I *completely* forgot about that sub, back when Joe was just the goofy old VP we wanted back instead of mr Mike "conversion therapy" Pence.
Man how so much has changed since then, we were all so innocent
Holy chicken gizzard Biden
Buncha malarkey I’ll tell ya
You ain’t black!
Richard from Ally McBeal would love to gets his hands on that wattle
Let me guess... now's a $35k NFT?
I’ve seen NFTs going for 30M. That one would be more for sure
He laughed when he read it and still signed it, guy’s got a good sense of humour and didn’t “cancel” this dude’s meme.
He loves all the Obama and him memes. He even did an interview where he mentioned his favorites.
They cover one good positive meme, yet say in the Title "and there are lots of good ones"....then they laugh about how many are out there and he says "there are thousands", followed by "in essence, they are all true".
Surely he has no clue about the subject beyond seeing a few memes from a family member, cus there are a good deal funny ass memes that make him look like a dumbass.
To be fair, I don't like him much but I'm pretty sure he's at least self aware enough and not so far up his own ass that he can laugh at jokes at his own expense.
Damn, someone who doesn’t like him and can be subjective in a comment about him without turning it into a cringe worthy post. We need more people like you in life.
Most people in life are like that, we just need more on reddit
What's the statistic? 90% purely lurk, 9% only vote, and 1% vote and comment?
That’s politics for you
No no…. I’ve witnessed plenty of people I once respected turn into people that I wondered “how did I ever respect them”.
Yeah he’s not my favorite but he has a solid personality
Thank you! Biden has been a major let down so far in his presidency but at the very least I can say that he is a figurehead on the international stage that I can at least say has some dignity when it comes to representing the nation. Trump was an absolute embarrassment, and while I still have major beef with Biden over most of his choices, at least we have a representative to international politics that isn't an absolute ass clown. People who downplay that element of the executive branch are totally ignoring how important it is to represent a democracy that still carries heavy weight in the world.
The bar is on the ground
He might be the first President in a very long time to not be a narcissist.
I used to carry out work in the London residences of a few front bench MPs many years ago and one I'll never forget. The basement stair walls were covered in repoductions of the political cartoons from his time in office. He was the subject of them all and they were to the last scathing.
Reminds me of the whole thing about the victorious Roman general being followed by someone reminding them they're mortal.
During a triumph specifically general had someone whispering in their ears that they were mortals.
Remember when we used to laugh WITH the President and not AT the President? Good times…
When was that?
Obama, I guess. I don't think the guy was a great President but he was charismatic and had a good sense of humor.
I mean, he wasn't perfect, but name a better president in the last 50 years.
Clinton and Bush Senior squandered the Soviet Union flipping capitalist. Had they pulled a Marshall Plan for Russia off, or even just helped them avoid a kleptocracy, we could've actually had the Pax Americana last more than two decades. Bush Junior blew China's confidence, kept Russia at arm's length, and kneecapped the economy with the Great Recession and subprime mortgages. The establishment of both parties have been running the country off a cliff. The Republicans faster than the Democrats, but both are wildly unsuccessful at maintaining America's competitive edge.
I think in another life he could have been a stand up. He was pretty funny at the White House correspondent dinner
Curious to your bar for a “good President”. Genuine question.
Probably since FDR
Of course you had to pick the guy who set the standard in the last century.
And he wasn’t without some glaring flaws himself, so it’s really hard to hype many others up.
I'm sorry to say.
I don't really have one. I feel like everyone since I've been alive has been underwhelming or awful
Honestly I think they’re supposed to be. Promise a lot and then do some of it depending on what sort of consensus can be reached with Congress (because a president is really as successful as their ability to pass legislation). It’s very rare for a president to be objectively successful. I mean we’re talking like a handful of them in the history of the country.
If only he canceled student tuition debt like he promised.
Biden does have a good sense of humor, regardless of how you feel about his politics.
How can you not after surviving the likes of Corn Pop?
Is that a Torrey smith eagles jersey? Go birds
I was going to say LJ Smith
Torrey Smith is one of the more underrated players from that team. Really good guy and still reps the Birds.
I think that might be a Jimmy Smith jersey, former Jaguars WR
The comments here are really reaching to try to paint Biden in a bad light. This is such a straightforward pic, the 'lol biden=old' thing is just so out of place here.
The hilarious ones to me are those stating that he's senile because they can't read his writing... They can't read basic cursive, and they're insulting his intelligence!
Lol it feels good to be able to laugh at a president for doing silly things and not because hes dumb as fuck.
Remember when he gracefully fell up the stairs three times? Now THAT was funny. Trump would have gone on Twitter the next day and say he's the best at climbing stairs. At his next rally he would have had stairs to the podium and opened with, "and they say I can't walk up stairs, huh?" and everyone would have died laughing, full ten seconds of cheering.
Reminds me of when trump signed a hat that said “make America not a bunch of cunts offended by everything again” and it was on video
If you enjoy reading the same 3 jokes over and over again, definitely sort by controversial.
I’m on Reddit, “enjoy” isn’t really how I would describe it. More just, I’m used to the torture at this point.
In and out. Eight year adventure.
Who prints memes by printing Gmail messages they had sent?
Biden's nothing if not funny as hell
You comment is quite funny and underappreciated.
I had no clue bidens cursive was so legible. Or says "still good friends - always be loyal "
Did Joe Byron take him to dinner too baby ?
Now, that's an NFT.
Joe wrote something about humping a bagel on that second line.
It's cursive. He wrote in cursive, "Always stay loyal."
I'm pretty sure Biden had no clue what he was signing
He wrote "Still good friends -" So it seems clear he read it and understood it.
He's on record as being a fan of the memes.
Yeah, I don't like Biden, but Biden does have an actual sense of humor.
I could 100% see Biden finding this funny
Jokes about Biden's mental acuity are common and I get it: he's the King of Gaffes. He's also really really old. However he definitely has a sense of humor which makes him a lot more human than the last president. The photo is pretty clearly signed in a way that shows Biden is in on the joke and he adds to it as well. This isn't a guy who feels the need to punch back 10x harder every time his feelings get hurt.
Also, people don't seem to realize that he is a stutterer. A lot of his Gaffes relate to stuttering. It's what you do in your mind to not stutter.
> He's also really really old.
That just seems like a way to distract from talking about real issues, because ALL the candidates were old except for Yang; Bad faith actors it seems like to me...
Biden | 79
Trump | 75
Bernie | 80
Warren | 72
People were pulling the same shit in 2016 with Hillary but she's a year younger than Trump!
Those weren't "all the candidates" until they were.
~~gaffes can be attributed to that~~
Edit: this was an extremely unfunny word salad. I meant to say "Gaffes can be attributed to his stutter".
In that case, Trump has dementia too. Man couldn't even drink from a bottle
Biden has been known as a gaffe machine for decades.
He wrote, "Still good friends. Always stay loyal," at the bottom, so I think he knew what he was doing lol
Even if he doesn't get it, he does have a sense of humor
Now he has to get it signed by Obama, and he'll have all the power of the universe
I love when reddit makes a meme and everyone wants to take its political value to the max, ffs this is not a politics sub, argue about who you like elsewhere.
I wonder if he would sign a list of names of the 13 Americans he left in Afghanistan
Let’s go Brandon!
2 great presidents
One killed innocent civilians in Afghanistan and the other left many stranded in said country to be taken over by terrorist...
Truly great president's.
First one was started by Bush, the second was Trumps fault. I figured you were a republican. You're too brainwashed to know the truth
The real question is, did Biden know what he was signing?
Biden literally did an interview explain that he loved those types of memes
Did he sniff you afterwards?
They hate when you bring it up but they can't deny how fucking weird it is
How weird is it that they just completely ignore it and act like it doesn’t happen?
Very fucking weird man
Still, good, thanks. Where’s my soup Mom?
Practically his only selling point was the dynamic he had with Obama - something entirely removed from his politics.
Put anything in front of that blind mummy and he’ll sign it
Aren't yall bored with that yet ?
The best thing Biden has done as Prez right here!
I dunno, getting us out of Afghanistan after Trump fucked the whole thing up so badly was pretty good.
The only thing Biden will do that will impress me. Taking the L on that bullshit war is the pinnacle of his career.
I dunno, he's been doing a pretty decent job cleaning up after the Cheeto baby threw his four year tantrum
so good he's at 36 percent and falling
Rock and a hard place.
Trumpets hate him for not being agolf twitler, liberals dont think he is doing enough, democrats dont like him because he wants to actually do something about the republicans debt instead of just kicking the can down the road.
Turns out, being an actual president makes you pretty unpopular when half the country hates you for not being as much a piece of crap as they are, and half of the rest hate you for trying to actually fix stuff instead of showboating.
It's definitely an improvement, but I'm not all that impressed. I never expected much from him to begin with.
I'd still vote for him all over again in a repeat situation though, don't get me wrong.
I didn't expect a lot, I've been overall happily surprised.
I voted for him because the alternative was awful, Ive since upgraded to thinking that on the whole he's been positive as a president.
I know reading isn't your strong suit, but... ya know, maybe learn a bit before you say things like that. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/
He’s done great things, the White House website says so!
Joe seems like he has a good sense of humor, If bet he had a good laugh at this.
It’s surprising Biden still knows how to write anything. Are you sure on of his secretaries didn’t write that?
Love em both!
It’s not that big of a feat. Pelosi and Harris have been putting bills and executive orders in front of him and saying “just sign it” for almost a year now.
Lol. Is that when he made it illegal to like Christmas?
