Menacing as fuck. I like it.

Party-Letter-6220

I hope Dr. Fate is immortal so we can have the JSA during WWII as a movie

Basis_Cheap

I'm really hoping for a tease for Green Lantern and Flash on the original JSA.

Apocalyptic_Horseman

That’s like my dream DC movie. I don’t think he’ll be immortal but I think he ages slowly and that’s why he look like he looks like he’s in his 60s/70s instead of a hundred something

Ace-Tracer

His character description literally says that he is an impossibly old man

meme_maker69420

…..

metal_signal17

Black Adam BLACK ADAM

cabballer

Hello hello, Montgomery Montgomery!

DarthTaz_99

Revolver ocelot vibes

Tgomez11199

I really hope this Movie spawns a JSA film. It would be really cool to see flashbacks to the original team and the expansion of this new team. I would love to see Mister Terrific, Jesse Quick and Power Girl join up in the future.

not-so-radical

I live action Mister Terrific would be awesome. No Arrow doesn't count.

ab316_1punchd

The Hawkman poster is the one that stands out in the best possible way. For a very unadaptable DC character, he's looking the BEST here. Even better than Fate and Adam.

ab8ndantly

Why is he "unadaptable" ?

ab316_1punchd

Supremely convoluted origin story, and an even more ridiculous costume design. Casting Aldis Hodge for the role was a really great choice, I can't see anyone else make that suit and helmet look badass.

red_racer83

His origin isn't even convoluted. He's either a reincarnated warrior or an alien police officer. The only reason it was ever convoluted was that DC kept retconning both versions and rearranging their continuity so it's confusing in the post-Crisis comics, but it wasn't confusing prior to that, nor has it been confusing any of the times Hawkman was adapted into other media. It's pretty much just that the comics continuity that doesn't make sense after a certain point. Even so, the comics have cleared it up in recent years. Hawkman has been reincarnated over and over again across time and space. The Egyptian warrior king and the Thanagarian police officer were just different lives he's had.

ab8ndantly

The early seasons of Legends of Tomorrow did an OK job with their Hawkman and he wasn't even the main focus then. Hodge's story obviously won't be explored fully in a BA movie. He can get a trilogy of movies down the line if done right and if BA takes off enough. Any expensive TV show is DOA on HBO MAX thanks to the new regime so it's doubtful his story would be explored there.

ab316_1punchd

Yup, sadly

CodeFun1735

They’re doing the Thanagarian interpretation of the character I believe, no reincarnation shit here.

Ace-Tracer

Nah, aldis said they are doing the reincarnation one, he just finds a thanagarian star cruiser is my guess on how he got all the nth metal

ab316_1punchd

Yeah I can see that, though it depends on Hawkman's fate in the movie.

Basis_Cheap

Seems like marketing is about to kick into full force, can't wait to see more of this.

Medevial-Marvel

Hope this movie is a success..The manufactured hate against this movie on subs like cinematic is crazy..It’s like some clowns can’t enjoy anything if it’s not made by a certain director..who unsurprisingly can’t get a theatrical project now and is relegated to straight to streaming garbage on Netflix

actioncomicbible

Wait what? Why does that sub hate this movie?

Basis_Cheap

Not the whole sub, but there's a lot of people who seem to hate this for various reasons, despite the fact we've seen so little.

FewWatermelonlesson0

There’s a segment of the sub that hates anything DC makes that isn’t super dark and gritty, which also tends to overlap with the segment of the sub that hates anything DC makes that isn’t more Snyderverse.

red_racer83

There's a happy medium between "dark and gritty" and "dumb and corny." People always act like it's one or the other.

RohitTheDasher

It's not about the tone (TDK trilogy, The Batman, Logan, Joker), but the idea and execution. Love & Thunder a reverse example of being light & fun, yet bad. Some people think tone decides if a movie is good or bad, and if others dislike something which is dark and gritty, then they must prefer 'kiDdiE' stuff.

red_racer83

Yeah, but there's nothing wrong with either tone or something in the middle. It's pretty much all in how it's written and executed. Totally agree.

LatterTarget7

The rock. Also it has comedy. And a few other stuff.

actioncomicbible

Oh shit oh fuck wait, this movie is going to have bits of *gags* ugh….fu— *hyurrrrgh*….**FUN** Please god, no. Please fuck. ^^^^/s

LatterTarget7

Yeah. I think there was like one joke plus the baton scene in a trailer. Then parts of that sub just said fuck this movie

[deleted]

[удалено]

red_racer83

I think it's more just that the Rock usually makes super cheesy movies and isn't a good actor. I don't care about Snyder either way. The Rock is why I think it might not be very good.

Quotang

Agreed, DC Cinematic has ridiculous hate.

DarthTaz_99

That sub hates anything that isn't snyder related. Anyone who speaks out gets banned. Fuck that sub its muuuuch better here

thecman25

So many synder shills in that sub

LongjumpMidnight

I'm not a Snyder hater, but Army of the Dead was pretty bad

Medevial-Marvel

Netflix is famous for producing big budget trash it’s not an achievement Jupiters legacy ,Cowboy bebop ,Aotd ,Red Notice ,Gray Man etc nobody cares about these shows or movies a few weeks after they are out and are forgettable trash Netflix are bleeding subscribers in all countries left, right and centre due to these stupid first look deals to directors producing mediocre content at an inflated budget There is a reason Snyder is never getting another theatrical project

007Kryptonian

Yet another example of Snyder living rent free for some of you. Nevermind the fact that the Russos and Scorsese do work for Netflix.

ConroyBat1985

I dont get it either. I see a ton of people hating in the rock and his ego going to ruin this movie. I am pumped. This is the first time a legit action start who is built like he was taken off the pages of comics will be getting paying the lead. People talk about how big thor is... The rock has 50 pounds on him and is set to play a bad ass. What is not to like? Havent even added in the fact we will see the JSA

Jay12678

The Atom Smasher poster is rough. It barely looks like Noah. Like they just painted over his face. Massacred my boy. 😔

RohitTheDasher

I had never seen that guy, but he looks great in that suit.

RakutoTakashi

Holy Shitt! That Hawkman poster fucks!!

LongjumpMidnight

Hawkman looks fucking awesome

reece1495

Cyclones outfit looks like it’s ripped from a cw show to me, I may be judging it too harshly

Educational-Band8308

These are straight out of the early 2000’s in the best way possible

Ethanonbass2019

The costumes honestly look fucking immaculate. From the footage I've seen, it looks like we're actually going to get a really solid, dark film. I just hope to God that Dwayne can take his ego out of the situation and decide to act for once

ProfessionalAnswer0

Cyclone poster aside, these are really dope

EggAggressive7631

Cyclone doesn’t even look bad what

ProfessionalAnswer0

Mainly Hawkman

LucasOIntoxicado

Don't get why they simply threw away the opportunity to have three Egyptian actors in this film. Would have been so cool to have an Egyptian Adam, Hawkman and Khalid Nassour in this. Even one would have been cool. Why isn't Carter Egyptian? Why not have Khalid as a supporting character, being Kent's assistant or something?

red_racer83

Carter is typically American in his present day life, being the leader of the Justice Society of America. He was Egyptian in just one of his many, many lives, so I don't think it's really necessary to cast an Egyptian actor. He's lived lives in every region of the world (and other worlds) and has been pretty much every race and nationality but he's pretty much always depicted as an American in the present day. Adam himself ideally would be played by an Egyptian person. As for Fate, Kent is the classic iteration. It wouldn't shock me if he dies and we don't get Khalid down the road, though.

LucasOIntoxicado

He's also always portrayed as white. Didn't prevented them from changing that. They could have made him egyptian.

red_racer83

Not always. He's said that he's been every race throughout his many lives. The guy that played him in the Arrowverse wasn't white, I don't think. I mean, they could have made him Egyptian, but I fail to see why they would focus on that when it's not any more relevant than any of his other incarnations. It makes more sense that the leader of the Justice Society of America would be, you know, American.

DeppStepp

The Arrowverse Hawkman was white (or at least the actor was), but the actress for Hawkgirl was multiracial

red_racer83

Oh, ok. For some reason, I thought he wasn't.

LucasOIntoxicado

Again. Why not make him have egyption descent? They changed him from white to black. Why not from white to north african??

Ok_Contest493

They didn’t “change” him. A human person actor auditioned for the role and they thought he was the best. That’s it. It’s called auditions

LucasOIntoxicado

Adorable that you actually believe that. Do you think The Rock was picked be sure they deemed him the best actor as well?

Ok_Contest493

No but it’s literally fact they had auditions for hawkman. They had Ryan Reynolds and Alexander Skarsgard in mind.

LucasOIntoxicado

They picked the actor who plays Hawkman because they wanted to add more diversity to the movie. All of us know that, and all of us think that's great(well, not ALL of us, there's those guys). And they had the opportunity to have a large egyptian cast for this film, and they wasted the opportunity in every single situation they could have. Even the director of Moon Knight agreed with that. We didn't get an egyptian Black Adam, we didn't get an egyptian Hawkman(oh yeah, and they also confirmed that they are going to erase his egyptian backstory as of that weren't enough), and we probably won't get Khalid, who could serve as a great supporting character assisting Kent and Fate.

Ok_Contest493

You’re seriously using the director of moon knight as a reference? Notorious for knowing nothing about the character and not caring about his Jewish roots as well as being a hypocrite by not casting a Jewish actor as Marc?😂now that’s comedy

Ok_Contest493

I can’t believe you are comparing the rock to aldis hodge 😂

LucasOIntoxicado

If Aldis Hodge is such a nobody to you, why is everyone so insistent that he should have been cast as Hawkman instead of an egyptian actor?

Ok_Contest493

Where did I say he was a nobody? Point that out to me? There’s just a difference between Dwayne Johnson and Aldis Hodge’a level of stardom. You can’t be that stupid to not realize that

red_racer83

I just don't get why you feel that they should have. He's not Egyptian in the comics. I guess they could have made him Egyptian in the movie and have it be fine, but you're acting like it's expected that they would and somehow bad that they didn't. I don't really care what race he is and I'm not sure why anybody else does. Who cares?

LucasOIntoxicado

One more time: He's also not black. Didn't stopped him from changing his ethnicity. You seem to be strangely hesitant in having egyption characters in the show. Is that the problem to you? Black and pacific islanders is fine, but north africans/middle easterns is where you draw the line?

red_racer83

You're not getting me. I am asking why you expect them to make him Egyptian and acting as if it's wrong for them to not. He could literally be any race but you're mad it isn't that specific one for some bizarre reason. I'm not resistant at all to it. I just think it's a weird criticism to have. I would have been fine if he had been cast with an Egyptian actor, but I wasn't expecting them to and I don't really care that they didn't. I already said I think Black Adam should have been played by an actor from that region of the world. As for Dr. Fate, Kent is probably the most famous version of the character and Brosnan is such perfect casting that it seems silly to be angry that they didn't use a much less successful iteration just because of their race. I understand that it's the typical reaction to try and insinuate that anybody who disagrees with you on reddit is racist or sexist or some other form of terrible person, but that's childish and insulting on your part.

Tankman_CR

Some people just simply don't care about a character's race if their race is not an important part of character building to them. Black Adam is Egyptian, that's an important part of his identity, and of course not everyone's okay with casting an American to play him, but Hawkman is different, he's a reincarnative warrior who've been born as every race on earth, race is probably the least important part of him as a character, so no one care about him being Egyptian or American, middle eastern or black

LucasOIntoxicado

if he were to have a different ethnicity that isn't white, it should have been north african. Carter's connection with Egypt is the strongest one he has, so they should have used that opportunity

Tankman_CR

I agree that he can be Egyptian but I'm okay with the casting now

I'm not sold on the trailers but I do love Hawkman and he looks awesome here.

ab8ndantly

Wow! There are actually other people in this movie other than the rock. Mind-blowing 🤯

GaTech379

They have been pushing the JSA just as much as Black Adam lol

Basis_Cheap

>There are actually other people in this movie other than the rock. They've all been present in the marketing and merchandising so far though?

RohitTheDasher

You would know if you had payed tiny bit of attention.

samueljbernal

Looks super 2010

The Rock's facial expressions just don't do it for me...

RohitTheDasher

To build a multi-billion Justice League franchise? That's definitely ideal scenario. Look at the state of JL right now. Marvel made B characters like Iron Man and Captain America fan favourites, meanwhile DC divided already pre-existing huge fanbase of Batman & Superman.

dannyallenxp

Nah they just need better writers

ar_churrolol

God, i's so generic and dogshit yall still will eat it up lol (no im not a snyder fan or anti, everything about this movie just looks terrible)
