Peek at Criterion Channel August 2021 lineup

I actually prefer the what's leaving list. Because then I have to cut through my indecisiveness and watch the ones in my list before they're gone.
I love that too. Curated for me lol
Yes! It really is a great film.
Hard to top last month's fantastic lineup
You can't beat that Neo-Noire collection
TIL John Huston directed Annie
Wait til you find out who directed Popeye
I try and watch African Queen about every 7-10 years. Nice that it's coming in August to the channel, but regrettably I watched just a couple months ago on one of the free services with ads, prob Pluto/Tubi/Plex, so it's still too fresh in mind. But for those who have never seen this masterpiece with Hepburn and Bogart, it's a must see imo.
A bunch of Huston and Boetticher I've been looking for, and even Don Bluth. That's new.
definitely excited to dig into some more Huston. Fat City and Key Largo are two I still need to see.
I’ve never seen a John Houston film so I’m very excited
James Benning's "Landscape Suicide" has me REALLY excited for the possibility of a box set of his early works at some point. That would be pretty high on my dream wish list, along with a Jem Cohen box, and films by Tsai Ming-Liang and Bela Tarr.
I’m looking forward to La piscine and Amores perros, but I’m sure there’s a few gems in this list for me to learn about. Women on the Verge of Nervous Breakdown is a longtime favorite of mine.
