Just to be clear, you do realize that the Chase Sapphire Preferred does *not* include lounge access, don't you? The Chase Sapphire Reserve does.
If you feel like you can utilize most of the credits (and offset as much of the annual fee as possible), then I would say it's worth getting. If you're just going to take 1 trip and want lounge access, I would look at just getting a one-day pass to a lounge. The sign-up bonuses (especially the Resy offer) are fantastic. I personally wouldn't get a Platinum Card for one trip, but if the math works out on the credits you'll use, in addition to the sign-up bonus, it can work.
You can almost hit the AF cost with credits/benefits/perks without going to the airport ($900 value on the credits you listed) so I guess the value after that will be the value on the lounges (IF there is one at the airports you depart from (can’t get in on after landing if I remember right), possible hotel upgrades and maximizing points values with your spend.
On a connection you can, and outbound 3 hours before flight. Recently lounges have had erratic/reduced hours, limited staff, long wait times or in some cases closed completely.
