Woops, forgot - this is OC! Everything in this photo is either thrifted, salvaged, or under $15 except the dark chairs - those we splurged on. This is my happy place.

A good powerwashing would do wonders for this porch. & I mean that in the least judgmental way. Still love it!

Racchi2point0

I know it. The whole house needs it, actually.

RiakkteR4

It's a lot of work but the satisfying factor makes it all worth it! I recently did our front porch as it was looking pretty rough & it looks brand new now.

The house is a constant work-in-progress. Pressuring washing so we can eventually repaint it is our next big to-do. Last time pressure washed anything, it was a driveway and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So satisfying! There's a reason there's an entire sub for it on here.

That blue thingy on the table looks exactly like a mosquito prevention device that I have. If so, how is it working for you?

Racchi2point0

That's what it is and it sorta helps. It says it takes 15 minutes to "warm up" or be fully effective, so impromptu porch sits on extremely mosquito-y nights don't happen much. We also have a box fan to turn on, not for the coolness, but for the wind factor. It helps keep the mosquitos away too. And, as a last resort, around the corner out of sight is another set of chairs inside a mosquito net (you can see it blowing in the breeze in the photo). Now, it's not exactly flawless, so they still get in, but it does help when we're desperate.

Thanks. I've had mixed results with mine. Fans are definitely a huge +.

Racchi2point0

Happy to chat about it. We also use table top tiki lighters sometimes. I'd love to hear any tricks you (or anyone else) knows because the mosquitos are no joke where we live.

akt30

Thanks. Yes, you definitely need to let it warm up for a bit before venturing outside. I bought about 10 trillion of those pads that rest on top of it last year because the battle of man vs mosquito in my backyard was clearly being lost by the humans. We were invaded by the asian tiger mosquito a few years back and they've been all up in our business ever since. Ugh.

Racchi2point0

Oof, that sounds like a horrendous infestation.

JensenAnkkles

This is awesome!

Racchi2point0

Thank you, I certainly like to think so!

HermioneBenson

I want to hang out here. My kind of space. Very nice!!

Racchi2point0

With a name like that, come on over! (In my head it's Hermione and Olivia Benson combined.)

HermioneBenson

Haha it totally is based on those two! 🙌

Racchi2point0

You serious? 😱😱

HermioneBenson

Yep! Two of my favorites!

Racchi2point0

I stand by my initial response then! You're welcome anytime! :P

Currently withering away in the desert. I would die to exist here ! 🌱

Didn't want to upvote it, but you've got me solidarity. Hang in there, friend!

Yellow_Verde_

So charming. Do you mind sharing the general region? Seems like southern US?

Racchi2point0

Sure! It's in Florida.
