Blue bordered boxes are asymptomatic positive students, blue shaded boxes are symptomatic positive cases. Interesting to note that the door and windows on opposing walls were left open, there is an air filter at the front of the classroom, and all student desks are spaced six feet apart. The teacher was unvaxxed and read to the students at times and took off her mask to do so. Here is the article about this: [Unvaccinated, unmasked teacher spreads Covid-19 to elementary school students, CDC reports](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/unvaccinated-unmasked-teacher-spreads-covid-19-elementary-school-students-cdc-n1277852)

RuthBaderismyHero

Stay home if you are sick. This teacher was sick for multiple days AND pulled down her mask to read to the students.

glaarghenstein

Yeah, an unvaccinated, unmasked, symptomatic teacher spread COVID in her classroom. Ideally this situation won't replicate itself in Illinois for so many reasons.

chapium

Wear a mask.

Numerous_Complaint52

Look up a video of an interview that Biden's own health advisor game about a month-and-a-half ago admitting but the typical mask that we wear has little to no effect

chapium

Look at all the other experts that say otherwise.

jbchi

It was Osterholm, who said that cloth masks do very little and everyone should be wearing n95 respirator instead. The critique wasn't against masks, it is that we aren't requiring people to wear ones that work.

ScoundrelPrince

Ask a vaper (you know one) to blow a cloud while wearing a mask and come on back to tell me they work.

Chajado

Seems like these experts say only N95's offer real protection. So cloth face coverings for 18 months were all for show.

Numerous_Complaint52

You mean falchi or the various other experts who are admitting that is all for show I'm in bouncy even emailed at the beginning that they don't do Jack diddly and he was the expert Global experts when are you going to wake up and realize that the only effective mask is a 1095 mask and only if you replaced every 20 minutes because they are designed to filter those bikinis that people wear while also putting them in their pocket when not using them don't do anything because the second that you go outside then become contaminated and useless

chapium

You aren't selling me on it when you can't even spell their names right.

Numerous_Complaint52

Voice dictation stupid I'm not trying to sell you on anything that's a fact more and more doctors are coming out to the reality masks serve no other purpose then potentially keeping you from getting a cold or pneumonia but as far as a virus is concerned the molecular structure of a virus can go through just about anything

KalegNar

Link?

Numerous_Complaint52

To what im sorry my phone doesn't like to show previous conversation

KalegNar

This comment of yours is what made me ask "Link?" > Look up a video of an interview that Biden's own health advisor game about a month-and-a-half ago admitting but the typical mask that we wear has little to no effect

Numerous_Complaint52

https://www.foxnews.com/media/biden-covid-adviser-americans-need-to-wear-n95-masks there's other length if you don't like Fox News but it is something that was interesting when I heard it coming from a health official and given fauci email

polarbear314159

The answer to your puzzle is obvious. The negative tests are simply the kids that already had covid previously and are immune.

euph_22

Funny how the "immune" students were all by the window while all the "vulnerable" kids were sitting right infront of their wildly reckless teacher...

polarbear314159

Yeah I’m just making the point that given roughly 40% of the kids on average are previously infected, we could just be seeing a pattern by chance and that 100% of the classroom would probably be infected without any previous immunity. Or yeah the windows could help … they should.

yesilfener

This goes to show that the 6 feet rule has been bs from the beginning. Months ago the WHO admitted that the virus is airborne but we still hang on to the guidelines given out a year and a half ago.

useles-converter-bot

6 feet is the length of 14.4 'Bug Bite Thing Suction Tool - Poison Remover For Bug Bites's stacked on top of each other.

atcshane

What!

New_Acanthaceae_4162

My daughter just got sent home with sudden onset fever, vomiting, headache and sore throat. Results in 2 days

[deleted]

Best wishes for your little ones health, and potential recovery if necessary, may it be quick.

faceerase

How long has she been in school?

New_Acanthaceae_4162

She started the 18th, this would have been her second full week. She's in first grade

juan_romero

Hope she feels better.

New_Acanthaceae_4162

Thank you!

lisaleftsharklopez

sorry. did u get results?

New_Acanthaceae_4162

Negative!

krystar78

Lesson learned: sit away from the door, towards back of classroom. You increase your chances

theoryofdoom

What it means is that COVID is airborne and ventilation improvements are necessary. But everyone is preoccupied with debates over masks --- which are [mandated in California schools](https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-08-03/masks-mandate-in-schools-students).

soitgabs

Most teachers here are vaccinated, the real shit show is lunch time

JamesGarfield

The real shit show is the bus.

Salinabenita22

I seriously doubt the classroom was big enough for 6ft of distance between each desk in each direction and still hold 24 students at a time. My kids' classrooms maintain roughly 3ft between desks and had to remove furniture just to fit them all in. Unless California classrooms are twice the size, I suspect there was less distance between them.

faceerase

Idk it's a private school. Appears to be https://ollnovato.org/

Salinabenita22

I suppose that could make a difference, my kids attend a public school. Still with that many kids in a classroom I'm struggling wtih the 6 ft between desks.

captainthepuggle

Yeah, I’m not convinced it’s really a 36’x30’ room but who knows.

Numerous_Complaint52

The 6-foot thing is stupid because viral particles can travel much farther than 6 ft

juan_romero

For schools, here's a great article that hopefully has some things you can do to keep safe in school: [https://yourlocalepidemiologist.substack.com/p/schools-mitigation-measures-in-the](https://yourlocalepidemiologist.substack.com/p/schools-mitigation-measures-in-the) And this is a good site with instructions to build a homemade HEPA-style filter: [https://cleanaircrew.org/boxfanfilterfaq/](https://cleanaircrew.org/boxfanfilterfaq/)

acorns50728

Shit show as we are only doing 3ft apart with more students crammed into each classroom.

[deleted]

Yes, most populated areas can't do six feet. You don't have the room correct? Stay safe/best wishes.

positivityrate

What age are these kids?

faceerase

They were kind of indirect about saying it, but it sounds like the two kids who were not tested may have been vaccinated, and the rest were not eligible. In which case, I would assume 55)-6th grade?

Chiraq_eats

Unbelievable that all teachers aren't vaxxed. Same with nurses. All of them should be fired and blacklisted.

ScoundrelPrince

You're advocating ruining someone's life because they don't share your beliefs. Just so you know.

slightlyaveragepasta

Yes if they're endangering others lives? Lol

ScoundrelPrince

Its should tell you plenty that medical staff are refusing the vaccine. How can you possibly trust the media more?

slightlyaveragepasta

So far no staff that I know, or have worked with, have refused the vaccine. In fact pretty much everyone I know has gotten it. What's your next argument going to be? What about other countries with high vaccination rates? Do you think they're all in on the conspiracy theories too or ? I'm genuinely curious

ScoundrelPrince

Global dominance isnt all that unrealistic to me, especially when "The great reset" is being openly discussed. Global governance, mass compliance, unified currency. A utopia for some, and more power to them, but you can't force people into your idea of perfection. The ONLY constant through the pandemic is a tightening of control by governing bodies, the treatments and prevention methods have been all over the place, there are all manner of side effects from the jabs that aren't even allowed to be discussed, there manufacturer's reaping trillions while holding absolutely no accountability, there are massive amounts of people who are just now experiencing the joy of mental health struggles and loads more whose fight only got harder, we've shut down economies, put people into crippling debt, WE HAVE UPSET OUR VERY WAY OF LIFE, and we did it so that grandma can maybe get 3 more years? Were all saving the vulnerable, but insulin is still a grand? The greater good, but get the fuck out because you can't pay Bill's? Everything about this is backwards, all you have to do is look...

slightlyaveragepasta

Yeah the great reset that has been supposed to having 5000000+ times now for the past 10 years or some shit. I'm not arguing with a Qanon nut because this will go nowhere. I sure hope you're not taking FDA approved drugs or eating FDA approved food because that's all part of some evil plot for total control

HulkSmashHulkRegret

It’s not the beliefs, it’s their actions. Someone believes in terrorist stuff, I don’t care. They turn their body into a bio weapon and spew virus at a captive audience who can’t get vaccinated, firing isn’t nearly enough, even a quick death is too kind for them.

ScoundrelPrince

A bio weapon with a kill rate of less than 3%? Pretty lame weapon.

HulkSmashHulkRegret

A pretty lame terrorist belief set and pretty lame hill they are choosing to die on too. Charges for bioterrorism aren’t made on how successful the attack is.

ScoundrelPrince

I was going to open a dialogue here, but a brief scroll through your profile reveals that to be a wasted effort. Take care.

HulkSmashHulkRegret

It would indeed be a wasted effort. Sincerely, you have a good day too.

cosmosv2

I love America's response to this bio weapon. Let's just let it take us down and not make any effort against our enemies agenda. Not getting the vaccine is a pussy anti-American move. But I guess that's just my belief.

ScoundrelPrince

Granny ain't on the front line fighting for freedom, bud, and covid isnt a legitimate threat to the first and healthy. The vaccines done more damage to otherwise healthy people than covid. If anything the vax is the bio weapon and covid is a renamed flu or cold.

vegetaman

Seems weird about the middle and the back of the room stuff with what is and isn't positive.

juan_romero

Could be airflow related with pockets of non-moving air collecting at the back and corners.

FranklinQFurter

Only 6/12 even had symptoms, and none of the 27 positives linked to this situation ended up in the hospital. A real-world example of Covid spreading among low-risk groups and little to no negative consequences as a result.

PhreakOfTime

I don't recall seeing anything regarding the health status of the family of any of these students. You can not factually make a statement that there have been 'little to no negative consequences' with the information you have been given here. If you have any additional information regarding that you'd like to share, that'd be great.

FranklinQFurter

[https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/27/health/teacher-covid-students/index.html](https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/27/health/teacher-covid-students/index.html) I believe this is the same story. “Eventually, 27 people, including the teacher, were infected. None were seriously ill and all recovered.” Sorry to disappoint you. (I know, I know, they probably all have “long Covid” now, and spread it to hundreds of grandmas and immunocompromised people.)

PhreakOfTime

That's only for people within the school. The very next sentence states not all people from the outbreak were able to be tested. >although the researchers said they were not necessarily able to test everyone who may have been infected in the outbreak. You don't have the facts to make the statement you did.

FranklinQFurter

I think that line was in reference to it being the Delta variant among those who were analyzed, but not everyone was tested for a particular variant

Panchpancho35

This is got to be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. And people actually believe it? My God

faceerase

You [said yesterday](https://www.reddit.com/r/DebateVaccines/comments/pe59p4/comment/hawvh0g/?context=1): > Kids are RARELY effected. Good thing. Oh wait are we now denying everything that doesn’t fit our beliefs? Gotcha https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7035e2.htm

Panchpancho35

And they’re all fine. But good thing the news smears it. Stop with this crap

Panchpancho35

And??? Keep up

nitrogenmurder

It means the day we seriously compare Illinois and California it's time to move out for real. California is such a shit hole.

juan_romero

Have you ever even visited California?

nitrogenmurder

Yes. I moved to the San Diego area for work. Was there for 7 years and I hated every minute of it. I left cause I couldn't take it any longer, it's a miserable shithole. Have YOU been there?

Chajado

The teacher should have signed the story to class and not spoke at all.

Oldskooler76

Skip class?
