I love seeing Wrigley on their feet for what (on paper) are fairly unimportant moments in the context of the entire season, not every fanbase does that
As I understand it that’s the way it’s supposed to be pronounced. Phonetically, ka-wah-ee-ee
Apparently pronouncing just one i sounds like a much different word, kowai for scary!
That's incorrect, you just stretch the い/ee sound, rather than pronounce them individually. They way she said it is kinda like if you said coff-ee-ee instead of coff-ee - which is interestingly a word Japanese speakers sometimes have trouble with when learning English, mainly because the word coffee literally exists as a loanword コーヒー but is pronounced entirely differently, like koh-hee.
Kowai sounds different because it's got the ko/こ sound at the shorter e at the end.
Kawaii/Kowai is a somewhat common mistake for beginners at Japanese, but any speaker would know what you meant and have a giggle if you made it.
The 2022 Chicago Cubs currently have the same record as the team that has Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout. Just goes to show just how much of a team sport baseball truly is.
was that odd? like morel was pointing back at the bleachers like if someone was dogging him for not using two hands and then acknowledging the bleacher bum. haha
and then the shot on the mound of sampson applauding the catch like a full minute after the play?
goofy. i love it
i know its not gonna happen..if but we win all games left, that puts us at 76-86. At this pace to wins 82 games next season and 88 Ws in 2024.
Jed is going to stumble his way onto a great team.
true shit.
2022 was a tough one..but I loved watching the progress of players...dumbasses out there thought we were going to compete...this was totally a rebuild year and it showed. Watching Morel, Suzuki, Nico, and then the pitchers all develop was nice.
The future looks bright.
W. this team fucks. I bet we could beat half of NL playoff teams in our current run and swag.
I’m not ready for the season to end
#[ W ]
would’ve been a cool way to end the game
Ouchie
I love seeing Wrigley on their feet for what (on paper) are fairly unimportant moments in the context of the entire season, not every fanbase does that
first winning month in how long?
i think August was a winning month but I'm not too sure. If not August, than I think April of 2021.
Yeah yesterday they said it was April last year
Think we ended up up 15-15 in august
pretty sure august was .500 exactly might be wrong tho
shit, isnt that a winning month?
I think so
Rowan Wick has absolutely no business pitching 61 innings for any team
At the beginning of the year I would’ve been fine with it. After this year, he should probably end up a victim of the roster crunch
Cubs doing him a favor by keeping him on this year
Really thought Sampson would have a let down game after 5 starts being amazing.
Fuck your shift!
Now that the season is ending. Are we on the fuk Ricketts train still or naw?
Yes. We really shouldn’t ever be in a position where players like Villar, Simmons, Frazier are dominating the acquisition season and lineup
This was a def transition year.
Always
I appreciate your determined loyalty
She really just pronounced both I's in kawaii. I've literally never heard anyone do that.

They really butchered the Japanese language
God I love Pat
Five consecutive quality starts for Sampson is pretty cool
Whoever is flipping the switch for the commercial break on mlb tv has an itchy trigger finger today. Dandy of a double play though
Has Sampson's stuff improved throughout the year? It sure seems like it.
Sampson's only allowed 2 hits? lmfao
I mean, it is the reds.
Feels like all of Sampson's starts end up being very quietly really good
This is a little louder though cause he has 6 SO, which is big for him. He's usually around 3 lol.
Happ gg in 2023 lf
Cubs drafting pitchers that are good. 🎶is this the real life, is this just fantasy🎶
Just happy that India is 0-2 w a K. So tired of that dude

Ok so perv for merv? Just getting ready for next year.
Did he just call Christopher Morel "Mo" lol
Oh shit it's PCA and Mash!
hey PCA and Mervis at Wrigley
Sampson with the boss grab
Just got out of a very boring meeting to see the Cubs kicking ass. Nice.
Play the game Sampson!
Nice catch Sampson!

That last pitch was a good one, dotted the corner just didn’t get the call
Ashcraft absolutely hates wrigley lmao
This is an enjoyable game of baseball
Gotta love Cubs kicking ass at meaningless baseball
Yan
that like the third automatic double i’ve seen in the last month to that exact spot i feel like. weird.
What an ill advised throw lol. I do appreciate when Hoerner comes to the plate in RISP situations
thank you based hoern man
At this rate we may never lose another game

Heed the wise words of Boog, development isn’t always linear 110 win 2023 season incoming

I can’t watch today but FYI, Pat and Ron are in rare form today. I’m still smiling from their banter.
Cubs are making the playoffs next year fr.
Cubs White Sox world series confirmed
for real...i dont even know if we need them rooks. I think this team can do it. PCA, Brennan Davis, Alcante and Mervis wouldnt hurt tho.
Quiroz is getting some tough calls today, that’s way too high
Mushroom Man!
Some great offense the last couple of games
What a fun second half this year! I know a lot of people gave up on these guys, but its been so much fun to watch these guys play!
Nico freaking Hoerner!!!
Wooo Nico!!
Nico
Ivy shot! I’m sure I’m missing an obvious one, but it feels like it’s been a while since we’ve hit one of those. Feed those vines!
I WANNA TALK TO SAMPSON
Today begins the one true World Series, best of six tie goes to the most runs scored
Happy weekend and go Cubs! 🍻
If Sampson were like 25 instead of 30 I'd be pretty hyped on him. But he isn't, so I'm not.
I have 2 bleacher tickets I cant use today. Free for whoever DMs me their email I can send thru ballpark app
Messaged you!
