As I understand it that’s the way it’s supposed to be pronounced. Phonetically, ka-wah-ee-ee Apparently pronouncing just one i sounds like a much different word, kowai for scary!

That's incorrect, you just stretch the い/ee sound, rather than pronounce them individually. They way she said it is kinda like if you said coff-ee-ee instead of coff-ee - which is interestingly a word Japanese speakers sometimes have trouble with when learning English, mainly because the word coffee literally exists as a loanword コーヒー but is pronounced entirely differently, like koh-hee. Kowai sounds different because it's got the ko/こ sound at the shorter e at the end. Kawaii/Kowai is a somewhat common mistake for beginners at Japanese, but any speaker would know what you meant and have a giggle if you made it.

true shit. 2022 was a tough one..but I loved watching the progress of players...dumbasses out there thought we were going to compete...this was totally a rebuild year and it showed. Watching Morel, Suzuki, Nico, and then the pitchers all develop was nice. The future looks bright.
