Just fyi, I’d check the serial and see when it was manufactured. KUSA’s QC has got really bad on guns manufactured recently and their customer service has been awful as well.

Congrats. Inspect the rifle very closely, KUSA has a fuck ton of QC issues. Look at the rivets, head spacing, take the dust cover see if it is leveled or if the bottom was grinded.
It’s better to get a AK that was made in Bulgaria, Poland or a Israel Galil since the QC are better and would be good service rifles. KUSA are pretty much clones and hearing the QC from their AKs except the 9mm version seems to make me worry

It feels horrible too. It has a thumb shelf, which in theory, should help with shooting a fin grip. This particular one just hurt the hell out of my thumb though so I ripped it off in anger and replaced it

I make a thumb grip that doesn't hurt and actually helps control the AK. My user name is the website
What did you replace it with I got mine and hate it too I’m thinking of getting a TangoDown grip and put a fin over it ?
I got a US Palm grip. I’ve resorted to just shooting on BLM land where no one can tell me I’m being a bad boy
