There's a CalGuns shotgun flowchart that may be helpful if you have further questions as you shop: https://www.calguns.net/caawid/sgflowchart.pdf

the fixed stock one gets me so much because who’s gonna come move your stock back and forth to see if you’re a criminal. at least the pistol grip/flash hider thing is readily apparent

imastruggl

The same people who think not being able to properly grip a rifle will save lives, not the sharpest tools in the shed we’re dealing with here

damnination333

As long as the stock is fixed, you can have a pistol grip. You just can't have BOTH a pistol grip and adjustable stock.

420BlazeArk

Semiautomatic shotguns can have *either* a pistol grip or an adjustable stock, but not both. They also can’t be fed from a detachable magazine. Also to be pedantic the 1301 is a Beretta, the Benelli shotgun you’re probably thinking of is the M4.

What about pump action. Can those have both?

Asleep_Onion

Yes those can have both. The Pistol grip + adjustable stock ban is part of the CA "assault weapon" ban, which only applies to semiauto. The short barrel shotgun law (18" barrel, 26" OAL) is the one that applies to all action types.

AmmoBros

The Beretta 1301 and Benelli M4 are good to go.

LockyBalboaPrime

Good to go

I have this shotgun which is CA legal and has a pistol grip https://atlanticfirearms.com/black-aces-bullpup-pump-shotgun-BATBPPBLK-702706998048

A_Bit_Narcissistic

That’s a Turkish bullcrap shotgun. I’d rather get a Mossberg 500 for that price.

PG1738

Completely separate types of shotguns but thanks for sharing your opinion which has nothing to do with my comment. I wasn’t suggesting he buy that gun. I was showing that there are CA legal pistol grip shotguns
