Here is an oil painting that took me around 40 hours! I am self-taught.

That actually is pretty amazing, it's the things we teach ourselves that we have that little bit more appreciation for..
Well I couldn't agree more! That's probably why I actually am even more proud of myself!
The detail in the hair is amazing!
Impressive! Wish we had a zoomed in version
You actually have on my Inatagram! [Here is the link! ](https://www.instagram.com/p/CQG3mR1BtRI/?utm_medium=copy_link)
The 4c is such a beautiful car. I so wish Alfa would get its s**t back together. They made some stunning cars. Personal favourite is the GTV V6 2.5. Fragile but stunning. The 1750 Junior is also gorgeous.
I agree it's a gorgeous car! And you have some great taste in cars!
I spend half a minute convincing my self this is actually a painting
And it actually is!
I don't think I could do this in 40 years.
Takes a while to learn!
By self-taught do you mean like watching videos and reading books and contacting Bob Ross via Ouija board while you practice, or do you just like keep doing it over and over and figure it out through trial and error alone?
Actually doing it over and over again helped me and knowing I can do it better next time. I wish I could talk to Bob Ross tho! Maybe after I die and I go into Art heaven 😀 I did watch his videos 😀
Thank you so so much!
I love this title!
Wow, some people are so naturally talented.
I had to practice for it ☺️
The woman is very life like. I'm impressed.
Haha thank you!
Great paint by numbers 🤣
Actually not 😅
How long have you been practicing? Also, congrats!
Thank you so so much! Well cars since 2016 actually!
great job! looks amazing
Thank you so much!
Can you do the Turbo Interceptor from the movie The Wraith next?
I can do any car you want actually! I paint them all!
You did so good! I love it!
Awh thank you so much!
Alfa 4c, great choice
I a 100% agree!
Great painting too, looks so good
Wow, you’re so talented! How did you get started out teaching yourself to paint? I’ve always wanted to learn but wouldn’t know the first thing
Thank you so so much! Well I practiced every day, every night whenever I had a free hour I would spend it practicing. You just have to believe in yourself and you'll be able to do it ☺️
Finally, an Oil painting that looks like an oil painting. I'm sick and tired of these photo-realistic paintings these days. What is the point of it then? It no longer is a talent, but a skill. This painting, as magnifique as it is, has perfect flaws that makes me look at it and examine the edges and wonder if I could ever do that. A photo-realistic painting is just a photograph, done slower. Who wants to see a photo of a car, much less an Alfa Romeo?
Thanks for sharing, well done. Keep up the talented art, and don't turn it into a skill.
Well I am trying my best to make them as realistic as I can and still keep the feeling of the painting alive! I do make some of them more realistic as the other ones but I don't always have a reference photo to paint from, it's around 50/50 and that paintings look as realistic as this ones where I have the reference photo. It's not a skill, it's a gift to be able to do it ☺️
>it's a gift to be able to do it
True, although the artlessness of art is what makes it special. If its from a reference photo, I guess it is a skill, and not talent.
Well I'm able to do both so it's a gift, a skill which I've developed thrue the years and it's a talent :)
Clearly by repetition.
Yeah practice makes it perfect 👌
Yeah and perfect makes it no longer art or a painting. Just a slowly copied photo. I have an Epson photo printer for that. Can't replicate the emotional value of a Van Gogh.
Well your printer can't print a car in a place that has never been. I can paint that because I've painted many paintings from reference photos which helped me learn :)
My printer can't print a photo that doesn't exist. And you can't paint a painting without a reference photo. Bob Ross is a painter who just painted using his imagination. That's true painting, in my view. But you're good, too.
I can't paint a painting without a reference photo? I've done so many of them which I had zero reference photos for. So that statement was not really nice from you.
I can see why you’d want to be in the picture over posting your art as it is.
Don't question, that's just how the reddit works
Makes it harder for someone to steal and pass off or sell as their own work.
That’s what signatures are for. They can pretend that’s their pic just as easily as they can pretend that’s their sig.
As someone who has had a video stolen and re-used, it's not hard to crop out a watermark unless you slap it in the middle.
Also, everyone on reddit could stop that weird judgy thing they do when women pose with their artwork. Men do it all the time on the site too and don't get even a quarter of the amount of shit about it.
I knew it wouldn't be long before an example showed up.
There's only one comment on him posing with his painting and it seems pretty tongue in cheek.
Wow that was Fucking Based. I had no idea it was that bad, thanks for coming back to my comment
It’s even easier to crop her out so that’s not a good argument.
I think the girl thing is because many are trying to flaunt their looks more than the art. Don’t forget the sub we’re in.
Funny how nobody says this when a dude’s in the picture.
People do it all the time, but y’all creeps crawl out of the woodwork when it’s a woman. Says a lot more about you than it does about her, actually.
Edit: [here’s a guy with his art from the same sub today](https://reddit.com/r/BeAmazed/comments/o14iqv/art_helps_me_stay_sober_for_5_years/), fully centered in the frame and clearly posing for the camera. Where are the similar comments on that post? I wonder what the difference is…
Thank you :)
If you’re calling me a creep that’s pretty weird escalation based on my comment. This person is obviously gorgeous, and I think a lot of people seeing this spent just as much time looking at her vs the art. Smart move by OP for views on what otherwise would probably swiped by. Doesn’t mean the art is bad, like another person said, that’s just how Reddit works, and I can see why.
And that’s what *you* think and *you* project onto the photo. That’s on *you*, and yes, it is weird.
What’s she doing other than being in the frame? Cleavage? Posing to show curves? Duckface at the camera? Oh, none of those things… you just saw a woman and can’t fathom any other reason any woman would have a camera pointed at them other than intentionally calculated sex appeal.
**That** is actually how Reddit works. No woman can ever appear in a photo without people crawling out of the woodwork to make comments like yours. Again, dudes pose with their art all the time, and you would never show up to one of their posts to say this.
Oh shit we got a white knight on the line. I didn’t take the time to read your entire reply but I can see you’re extremely defensive and there’s no point in continuing this.
If you can’t spend twenty second reading the few sentences I wrote to realize how off base you are, that’s also on you.
Sorry you’re butthurt I called you out and you’ve got nothing to say for yourself. Might as well take your ball and go home, you’ve clearly got nothing to contribute here.
Both your comic and my example reinforce what I’m saying. It’s your perception versus what actually happens.
Actually because I want to be :) I've been bullied in school and getting myself to actually have the guts to photo myself and post it has been hard that's why I am still practicing it and trying to love myself as much as my art :)
Cool, I hope you find what you’re looking for.
Her hair looks super realistic wow 😮
Because it is 😂
The fact that you picked an Alfa says a lot about your intelligence. (Spoiler: you are wise)
The fact yond thee pick'd an alpha sayeth a lot about thy intelligence. (spoiler: thou art wise)
^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.)
Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`
Thank you! They are gorgeous cars, some of them are definitely art on wheels!
Wow. Alfa Romeo at shipment! Love it!
Yes indeed! Thank you so so much!
cool painting but damn that hair makin me crazy 🤪
They are natural 😀
Nice picture off Google, one search and your lie falls to pieces :)
Reverse image search
Don't know what he is talking about to be honest. [This was my reference photo](https://www.google.com/search?q=alfa+4c+tuned+by+zender&prmd=ivn&sxsrf=ALeKk02vRMUJXN0fxJT0jg39Z-iEtacedQ:1623860844204&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjuuKGGyZzxAhUchf0HHUU6CeoQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ#imgrc=JNqP4XKP-sYicM) which the customer wanted me to paint by.
What? I did do it after a reference photo and you don't have to reverse it 😅
