The only before & after I’d experience is before and after I decline this job. Kudos to whoever takes on jobs like this.

tdiz10

Easy 1600 buck far as im concerned. I take these job as a challenge, molds nothing to mess with

nekrossai

How do you ensure it's not in the foam?

tdiz10

Even if it was its been kills and removed through multi extractions with a commercial carpet cleaner. Things got dual in line 3 stage vacuums and pulls 180 inches of water lift, so it sucks pretty damn good.

jjojo26

Sounds like a nice succy sucky

sweetdawg99

It'll rip your d*ck off.

Mem_Johnson

Wkuk

drazr

That escalated quickly /s

gage_slides

Is that a challenge?

sweetdawg99

tdiz10

Who told you about that,!

sweetdawg99

https://youtu.be/6YHEK6-Ili8

tdiz10

That shits hilarious

moeterminatorx

What model and brand out of curiosity?

tdiz10

It's a custom made Sandia sniper. Has 1500 watt heater, 150psi pump and dual in line 3 stage vacuums. Not the smallest extractor for a mobile detailer but it's been bullet proof

8hundredpounds

Stop, stop, I can only get so turned on…

tdiz10

Just wait till I tell you about my turbo brush 😉

ratfink1

I used a dual wand Prochem Everest when I did carpet cleaning/mobile detailing. The thing was a $40,000 beast

Wakeandbass

Officer Doofy reporting for duty

tdiz10

Nice to meet you doofy. your fired!

Evil_of_Evils

Pssst, does it come with “adapters”

skyspydude1

Yes, but all of them [will rip your dick off](https://youtu.be/Z2EMGmv0FqM)

PayterLobo

Lmao this little thread made my morning! Also RIP Trevor

sweetdawg99

RIP to the well known local sexpot.

Evil_of_Evils

🤣, Definitely buying the first one

tdiz10

No but if your determined enough the love you long time fleshlight attachment isn't beyond the realm of possibility. May want to just power up one of the vacs to be on the safe side.

tdiz10

Lest the fire department shows with your parents like "yup this is how we found him, poor bastard tried to turn on both vacuums" and your parents are like wtf kinda shit was he into?

Evil_of_Evils

After a couple years, doesn’t suck like it used to

kwdivikaw

Can I borrow it?

tdiz10

Just call your mom think she's on par. Lmao couldn't help myself

kwdivikaw

Burn.

JZN20Hz

I work with restorations of fabrics and furniture including mold, and regular cleaning solutions don't kill it, and it will continue to grow. We mold test everything after cleaning and in many cases, the fabric still tests positive for mold spores. Visually this looks great, but if that person had a mold allergy (like I do), they will detect the mold quickly. Rain, heat, humidity will help it to keep growing.

tdiz10

I'd have to disagree both an acidic solution as well as hydrogen peroxide will both kill the mold, not to mention the steam and ozone. Also mold needs moisture if you can remove the moisture the mold will fail to propagate. That being said it is definitely possible to fail to kill and remove all the spores in a given car wherein somebody with an allergy could possibly be effected.

[deleted]

You charge 1600 for this? Thats awesome I just started and was wondering how often do you get offered jobs like this?

Mem_Johnson

Not often around my small town in iiwa

tdiz10

Not that often maybe once a year but not usually to quite that extent

aceofsp8ds

I love cars and I love detailing, but I’d hate to be the moron to own this and the absolute unit of a human who cleaned it. You better have worn gloves and respirator

tdiz10

Hell for that one I damn near felt like I should have a body condom and a cork in my ass just as a precaution

sock_slurper

r/brandnewsentence

senorstupid

Jobs done. Time to uncork the champagne!

Gr3yGhost

Is it weird that I heard the pop?

d_student

It'd be weird if you didn't

AdministrativeAd2888

If I could give you a national award, I would.

Weatherflyer

Op did more than just that for this

aceofsp8ds

That physically is revolting to be the one to drive that around. Props to op, but see a doctor to see if they found any newly discovered diseases on you from that fungi-fest

Stylu_u

I hope you wore a hazmat suit

tdiz10

Respirator for the first part for sure.

A-roguebanana

Do ozone the car?

tdiz10

Among other things yes

PNVVJAY

How are you ensuring that mold doesn’t come back? Looks really thick and old.

tdiz10

I use multiple steps including an enzyme treatment to start then acidic solution, steam followed by hot water extraction then steam again followed by a hydrogen peroxide solution then shock treat the vehicle with ozone

PNVVJAY

for 1600$, are you “warrantying” the mold removal service? If it were to come back. Just wondering. You did an excellent job and I was curious about your process!

tdiz10

No because it's all how the customer handles the vehicle after I'm done if the get moisture inside and jus let it set it mold will return. This is Oregon mold is not exactly scarce around here

PNVVJAY

Same thing here in WA. I use a similar process to remove mold but have never had the opportunity to detail something like this. Good money!

Grey392

I was wondering how this happened, and then I saw this comment lol.

Ecsta

IMO this customer won't come back (in this car). Betting they got it cleaned to flip given what the used market is like. Some unsuspecting person will unknowingly buy a previously-mold-infested vehicle.

windows110

Hey bro could we have in detail how you cleaned this? Seems like a very big job. Also good job on making the car look brand new again.

tdiz10

Man it's quite a few steps as well as chemicals but generally I vaccum and use air very thoroughly. Then spray everything with an enzyme pretreat followed by steaming all fabrics then I'll use an carpet cleaning spotter spray it with water and drill brush it good. Then hot water extraction, hydrogen peroxide solution, high traffic carpet clean extract again. Then if there's really stubborn stuff I'll actually use a non acid wheel cleaner by Pro Beauty products called c-41 (don't ask me how I figured that out) then extract those areas then use air movers to drive everything and then finish with ozone shock treatment for 20 mins at 12,000 MG/hr. Think that's about it

football2106

You use Brake Buster on fabrics? Do tell

sjeiekdnfn

I’ve been doing that for a while. Brake buster is really good for breaking apart stains. Undiluted and small amounts of product is the way to go because it foams a ton

football2106

I will need to give this a try next time. Do you have any experience with seeing cars days/weeks/months after using BB on the fabrics? Any adverse effects the chemicals can have on the materials?

tdiz10

My bad I Mis spoke I don't use p&s brake buster I use pro non acid wheel cleaner c-41 don't think I'd use brake buster personally but c-41 is great shit. I just don't use it on wheels lol

AlecW81

why only 20min of ozone? I was under the impression you generally want to run them for 12-24hrs to really kill everything, including any lingering odors

tdiz10

With a commercial ozone machine your pumping out 12,000 MG/hr that's alot of ozone. The ozone if left in a confined space can actually oxidize plastics and rubber parts of the interior.

AlecW81

gotcha, I’m used to the little consumer-grade machines

tdiz10

The stench of just about any chainsmoking, obese troglodyte with an adversion to bathing stands no chance against the ozone though. Things are awesome. They also sanitize all surfaces in the vehicle of bacterial, viruses spores and what have you.

greenskeeper-carl

Can confirm. We had a lot of water in a building at work one time. We had two machines in there over the weekend and it dried everything out and the smell was completely gone.

MetalAvenger

What’s the enzyme pretreatment called? Is it mould dependant or universal?

tdiz10

I just buy a gallon size jug of concentrated enzyme cleaner off Amazon it's not mold dependent yet not only kills the mold but can break down the foundation molds feed on which are then removed through extraction

tdiz10

AmazonCommercial Multi-Purpose Enzyme Cleaner, 1-Gallon, 4-Pack https://a.co/d/2DyCHUc

MetalAvenger

Thanks!

jdak9

I think this might be the worst interior condition I've seen on this sub. Nice work!

tdiz10

This one took me two 10 hour days and a half day for the exterior. It was actually their son's car who left for the navy and it sat for a full Oregon winter and turned into a science experiment

doomruane

That explains a lot, I was truly concerned that some absolutely mongoloid was driving this thing around somehow.

tdiz10

Lmao thought I was the only one that used the word mongoloid anymore

doomruane

Calling someone a mong is very underrated lol

tdiz10

Lagoon creature or swamp donkey have also been favorites of mine. Lol

tdiz10

But troglodyte people aren't sure if they should be pissed or thank you

tdiz10

That and troglodyte

Tanglrfoot

Did it sit with a window open ? I’ve never seen anything this bad besides cars that were submerged in a flood .

Marshall_Lawson

once he said oregon winter I wasn't surprised

dadisrad91

Oh it’ll be back

1ecksdee1

To the fault of the owner most likely. Mold doesn’t happen for no reason. leaked that were never addressed, spills from being slob, etc… or just the car not moving for a full year or two

1newnotification

op said the owner was deployed for a year

BeatrixFarrand

Jesus. Was this Olde Gregg’s? Did you find his bottle of Baileys?

BigBoyYumSauce

Underrated comment

aquamabyssichronicle

He was probably drinkin baileys from a shoe

KanevX05

I’m never buying a used car ever again.

Marshall_Lawson

yeahh......

le-iboy

I was expecting the after shots to be the car being crushed lol

Illustrious-Ear-7567

Burn it with fire

tScooter07

My throat is itching just looking at this

tdiz10

That's not the mold it's the hanta virus hiding underneath the mold

quotekingkiller

Most excellent work human

tdiz10

Most appreciated fellow human

PapaSan62

You did a tremendously awesome job! Hopefully you suited up head to toe for this. And if I was the owner, I would be looking to unload this as fast as I can.

tdiz10

It was their son's who had left for the navy so that's what they were trying to do. That car was the best tip I ever got. $500 on top of the $1600 I charged I was happy

PapaSan62

Wow. But it was well deserved. Hopefully they can sell it and make a little profit from it.

tdiz10

I did the full exterior detail as well, engine, paint correction even popped a dent out of the front bumper for them

ajw_sp

Do you have more pics of the job you can post? I’d love to see all the work that went into this.

arthurdoogan

Was the hvac system filled with mold too? If so how would you get rid of that so the smell is gone for good?

tdiz10

I'll usually use compressed air with a hydrogen peroxide solution and blow it into the vents best I can. The run the ac on recirculate while the ozone machine is running

greenskeeper-carl

Nuke it from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure.

catchydude

yea the mold is def not gone, its still everywhere behind panels and the plastic interior bits, cars like these have to be stripped down or junked

tdiz10

I pulled door panels and center console when I removed the seats to mitigate that issue. Did I get every last spot probably not but I did the best job I could do and in the real world people can't just afford to throw away cars because there might be some mold behind a door panel.

catchydude

well if i was that guy id sell the car right away and buy any other car, its not worth sacrificing your health for

tdiz10

I can't argue that logic

toycoa

Does this Matrix have a sunroof? It was the car that swore me off ever getting another car with a sunroof

tdiz10

It did not

ddnut80

Out of curiosity, what happened?

toycoa

Our sunroof leaks, the drains are clear, but where the gasket goes around the glass, it lets water in and if I park level or facing up, it runs down the A pillar or take a turn and runs in to the passenger Oddly enough, if I face downhill, it's fine.

DobermanDaddy94

Dude i did one this week not as bad but bad so much respect for u lol

tdiz10

Loads of fun isn't it lol

DobermanDaddy94

Bro it took me and another guy like 12 hours in 100 degree weather to finish.

tdiz10

Yea It took me like 2 or three days but I also did full paint correction engine the works

DobermanDaddy94

If you could go back how much would you charge them again? I charged them 1000 got 100 tip but if i could do it again id charge minimum 1500 maybe 2

bitchitits

Wtf? I literally owned a car that wasn’t half this bad and the insurance company totaled it. They wouldnt even let someone drive it away. They put an orange biohazard sticker on it and had a tow truck come and take it to the crusher.

Slawpy_Joe

What's the story here?

rakeshmali981

You can also post this in r/wtf

mouseattacks

Amazing restoration! Way beyond detailing. Helluva job. Glad they paid more…well deserved.

tdiz10

Least somebody can appreciate the work that goes into these cars

professoreaqua

Op. This is amazing! That car would have Ben stripped and acid dipped if it was me. Wow 😮. Amazing work.

tdiz10

Much obliged

Straggler2374

Damn, that poor Matrix. Great job bring it back!

RoyalAsianMunchies

Looks toxic, probably better off being burned!

Dsarg_92

In any chance did you put some holy water while cleaning? 😂

CSchoff

Not even my car and I'm proud of you!

tdiz10

Prob my fav reply of the day. Thanks man. I'm just kinda blown away at the response I've gotten just posting some of my pics. Kinda blew up

AutoSpec

woah, how'd you do it?

freedomenthusiast

Excuse my French, but did the customer explain how the fuck this happened? Like Jesus.

tdiz10

It was their son's car who left for the navy so it sat untouched for a year and Oregon winters are not nice to unused vehicles

TurboWelderMonkey

Bruh how.... to the before and after...

tdiz10

Two 10 hour days and a 3rd half day. Lol

Freshness9161

Holy moly nice job! Looks amazing.

tdiz10

Thanks

Essldn

I see you got tipped well.

tdiz10

It was an nice surprise for sure. I don't usually count the money in front of the customers, just feels weird to me so I didn't even know till I had left so I sent them a thank you card.

gimletinf69

Are you in Vegas?

tdiz10

But Im a mobile detailer and will travel wherever if the price is right. Lol

tdiz10

Oregon

Puzzleheaded-Chef738

What chemicals did you use to get all the white mold out of the carpet and the chairs that's amazing

Sadday4CANthr4thwrld

Mold : Enter The Matrix

gofaster87

Amazing job. I would never have the patience to do this.

brokebitch30

Shocking

Operation_Much

I have a personal vehicle I haven't used for s while with the same issue. Could I ask what products you used to remove the mould?

Flash33m

I don’t know how I feel about this

doesnotmatter_nope

how?!?!
